Worst and most unprofessional service and unknowledgeable staff I have ever dealt with. Honestly am not sure why people use them? I have my mortgage there. Horrible service and no one can answer a question. Don’t trust these people. Their APP sucks too. Completely useless!

I came to the Santander bank on Kings Highway, Brooklyn,NY, to ask, to discuss, and apply for a HELOC ( home equity line of credit) or personal loan. I was seating there for 15 minutes, no one came to ask, if I need an assistance in bank products. So , I decided to grab some of advertising booklets , that was scattered out on the table. As soon as I grabbed one and started to read, bank manager approached to me with attitude and asked me to get back to a seating area and not to walk around while bank clerks helping customers. No sorry, no offer to assist, not even introduced herself, SO UNPROFESSIONAL, SO DISRESPECTFUL , SO Negative to a new customers. I lost my interest to do business with that bank right a way and left. I will never come back and NEVER recommend this bank to no one. Hopefully, people will stop have business with them and bank will closed down.

Easy to use app and online. But very poor interest rate on personal and business accounts.
Transfers very quick. Better than others.
I have decided to leave as they won’t give me a Credit Card for my co, even though I have been a good customer for many years and our balance is always very healthy.

I made a legitimate purchase for my son with my Santander Bank debit card and the bank refused the purchase for security purposes via text. I responded to the text that I made the purchase,however EVEN after I authorized it via text and THREE phone calls to support, my purchase kept being declined.
I spent over 30 minutes wasting my time because Santander Bank refused to authorize my purchase. so I went to the branch and closed my account.

I called Santander USA customer service, to ask if I could withdraw money from my Santander Bank account that I had in Germany. They said sure, no problem, but that I would have to travel to a branch in the US to do it. So I flew from my home in Minnesota to Philadelphia, the nearest branch. I had to stay overnight, and missed two days of work to make this trip. When I arrived at the branch In Philadelphia, they said I couldn't do it. I was told by the branch manager that I could be reimbursed for my expenses if Santander found my recorded call to customer service.
I just got a call back from Santander in Massachusetts, saying they would not reimburse me because in the recorded call I said I would be in the Philadelphia area anyway. That is a lie. I now have to pursue a civil suit against these crooked liars. I have zero faith in the right thing being done, but I have to try anyway. Beware of Santander Bank!

The absolute WORST customer service I have ever encountered. I told the supervisor Christine what an awful experience I have had since opening the account and all she says “sorry to hear that.” I have had nothing but issues with this bank and only have been a customer for 6 weeks. Their processes are ancient. Called this morning to ask where my replacement debit card is since I never received it and you cannot walk into a branch and get a new one. I found out that they never received a signature card they supposedly mailed me (which they never did) so they are planning on closing my account in 9 days with no warning, no notification, nothing. The best part is they have my signature on file at the branch where I opened one of my accounts. Go elsewhere. Do not waste your time.

BEWARE!! I had a car loan with Santander and totaled my vehicle on May 12th. I made a few more payments waiting for the insurance company to pay off the loan. The check was sent August 20 to Santander from the insurance company but apparently, they had no idea how or where to apply it (not sure what confused them my first or last name). They reported me to the credit bureaus as late in payment and when I disputed it they refused to reverse it). They finally sent me my refund of overpayments, check dated 9/24/2019, took out another payment and added another late fee. On October 3rd, I spoke with them, they took the information and said it would be 3 business days for the audit team to review and I had to call them, they would not call me. That means I will not have an answer on my refund until Wednesday October 9th. Ridiculous and I am thinking of suing them for ineptness and using my money without paying interest to me…..

Some time ago I closed an investment with Santander and transferred it to a better company.
I received a letter a few days saying they owed me some money as they had been overcharging for management fees. This in itself is incompetent.
The letter from Jeffrey Spence director of ISA managers said I could withdraw the money by 'going to your local branch' and 'take proof of your identity such as your passport or driving licence'. I made a special journey to the next town as my local branch closed last month, taking both my passport and licence.
And you guessed it, "sorry sir we cannot do that in branch you will have to ring the number shown on the letter".
This really is not good enough. I am not surprised the average score for Santander is little more than 1. I have a good mind to try charging them petrol mileage.

RECENTLY OPENED A CHECKING ACCOUNT WITH SANTANDER. OF COURSE THEY COME ON STRONG BUT THEN MESS UP AFTER A FEW WEEKS. SCREWED UP ON MY CHECKS TWO TIMES. I HAD TO MAIL IN A FEW DEPOSITS, NOW A MONTH LATER AFTER SENDING LETTERS REQUESTING COPIES OF THESE CHECKS, STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THESE COPIES. THESE BANKS DO NOT WORK IN THE CUSTOMERS BEST INTEREST. CONSTANTLY HAVE TO FOLLOW UP, 1. TO FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE IN FACT RECEIVED OUR REQUESTS 2. FOLLOW UP TO FIND OUT IF THE INFORMATION, DATA WAS ENTERED INTO THE COMPUTER CORRECTLY 3. FOLLOW UP TO FIND OUT IF THE PROCESS IS IN PLACE AND WHEN WE CUSTOMERS CAN EXPECT ANSWERS TO OUR REQUESTS, INQUIRIES. MY ONLY ASSESSMENT IS THAT THESE BANKS DO NOT WANT CLIENTS, CUSTOMERS. This bank is technically inept. They do not offer web resources, such as web based autoay for HELOC loans. They have huge fees. Incompetence runs throughout this organization. THe only way they allowed autopay was for me to open a checking account with them. I went to the branch, deposited money in an account and filled in a form for autopay. The branch manager must have forgot to set up the autopay and the bank sucked money from the account each month due to inactivity, though their mistake on not setting up the automatic withdrawels. There is no accountability and their stealing money from accounts is criminal in my opinion.

The suck...everything takes at least 3 business days and you always have to wait forever to have access to even the smallest checks. Several people I know have already left gone to different institutions and unfortunately I'm gonna be next. The customer service reps can never do anything to help and when you ask for a supervisor they hang up.

Absolutely shambolic. I applied for a credit card and received a confirmation email to say that my application was being processed. When nothing had arrived 2 weeks later I called Santander customer services and gave them the reference number I had received with the aforementioned email to be informed that they had no record of it and that I should go to a branch to sort it out.
I Googled the nearest branch only to find when I got there that it had been closed down so I went the next nearest to discover that the listed address was a private house in a terraced row.
As I write I have been on hold for 23 minutes after telephoning them again.

Their complaint side never acknowledged any complaint and failed to investigate. I had 4 times fraud with this bank. Their annoying system and overall everything is just most irritating than any other bank

I contacted them because my father had some issues with his card and the women called JENNY started screaming at us like we were some stupid people just because we couldn’t understand exactly what she was saying. Horrible bank, told my dad to switch to another one and he is going to!

This bank dont care about customers. Went to update my bank card from cirus to visa/maestro - was rejected. Went again to close my account (got visa card straightaway in another bank) by appointment, was waiting around hour, because nobody care that you there, eventually they said i was late ( came 13min before appointment), if you thinking to get account, please don't

I do not recommend anyone to open an account with Santander Bank! I did not recognize a withdrawal from my account. I reported this to Santander Bank. They put a block on the Account. It was within 5 minutes After that I remembered what it was for. I called Santander Bank immediately and told them. They said that's ok just come in and we will remove the block. I went to the bank right away to have them remove the block on my Account and when I asked them to do so, they said no I need to get new checking account! Which meant opening one! Well this opened up a whole new can of worms for me. Not only having to open a whole new Account, they also made the company that I already verified that I knew withdrew the 💰 pay it back. This also gave me a returned check fee. I am very dissapointed and unhappy with the way they handled this matter! I would of been better off not reporting this matter at all! It would have cost me less 💰. Santander Bank. Bad for business!!!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE BANK. Our home equity line was w Sovereign for yrs, then automatically transferred into Santander. We are NO WHERE NEAR the flood zone per the Fema map and they have added flood insurance into our home equity line payment each month. Spent days and too many calls trying to get someone to listen only to be told “just go to your local courthouse and obtain your plot plan and submit it..etc” NO, it’s wrong. What if we were 90 and no ability to handle this! No wonder banks get sued. Never ever use this bank, never.

If you are thinking of applying for a Santander account please don't. After making a 1 off payment to a family member yesterday. The payment was cancelled my online account blocked. Was assured over the phone it would be sorted. An hour later I get a call to tell me to go into the branch with ID. I explained I had been in hospital & was recovering they didn't care. I needed the payment sorting so have mad myself ill by sorting it all out. Santander do not care about there customers!!

I’ve had more than one occasion where my money went missing. So I finally went in to ask what is up. Well they don’t help not even the manager. They’ll admit you’re right then back track and say they don’t get what you’re saying the next minute and they can’t help you unless you have paper receipts . I don’t get paper receipts anymore; I thought I could trust my bank.

making online payments for kitchen and 2nd payment fails, call them up and answer all security questions fine, then they ask for a direct debit and amount which i give them from a statement with exact figure, sorry sir you will need to visit your local branch, why, we cant tell you but you need to go to a branch. All very good but you closed my local branch so i have to travel 40 mile round trip to so as well as not being avle to order my stuff im going to lose the best part of half a day at work.
Screw you Santander I'm moving all my business accounts and personal accounts elsewhere.

I ONLY WISH I HAD READ ALL THIS BEFORE I WENT TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM I'M NOT PROUD TO SAY THAT I HAD TO GO BANKRUPT AND I WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED TO GET A NEW BANK ACCOUNT SO I WENT TO SANTANDER AS AT THE TIME I WAS BANKING WITH NATIONWIDE WELL TO CUT IT SHORT THE BANKRUPTCY OFFICE CONTACTED SANTANDER TO SAY QUOTE THEY HAD NO INTEREST IN MY ACCOUNT WITH THEM SO WHAT DID SANTANDER DO YOUR RIGHT THEY FROZE MY ACCOUNT WITH THEM XMAS EVE NOT TELLING ME ANYTHING WHEN I WENT ONTO ONLINE BANKING THE MONEY WAS THERE IN MY ACCOUNT BUT I COULD NOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL 28 DEC AND FINALLY GOT IT ALL SORTED BY 30 AND TO TOP IT ALL WHEN I CONTACTED NATIONWIDE TO TELL THEM MY BAD LUCK WITH THERE BANK AS I HAD A LOAN WITH THEM TO MY SURPRISE THEY TOLD ME THEY WAS STILL HAPPY TO SERVE ME AND GAVE ME A NEW ACCOUNT WITH THEM THAT WAS STILL BETTER THAT THE ONE THAT SANTANDER GAVE TO ME SO I WOULD SAY TO YOU ALL TELL SANTANDER TO PUT IT WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE AND GO TALK TO NATIONWIDE
