Easy to follow. Actually feel like you are achieving with every lesson. Good mix of lessons.

This is a very useful tool if you want to consolidate your existing knowledge of German. It's also great if you're learning from scratch, although I found having some idea about German grammar to be helpful prior to starting the course.

after a few months when the use of a microphone became more important the app was not really usable. my emails to rosetta stone where ignored. so I stopped progressing and was not able to continue to use the app. At the end of the year I was surprised to find I was now being charged monthly. once again my emails were ignored. but I was able to cancel my payments. I was very disappointed with the service I received since I think the programme is excellent. it just did not work for me and customer service is effectively nonexistent.

I'm really impressed with Rosetta Stone - learning a language online has been a much better experience than learning in the classroom. Merci beaucoup :-)

I have been studying Dutch with Rosetta Stone for around 14months now. I was hoping to get the 12units completed in a year but alas life got the better of me. Due to the I bought the Lifetime product which I believe will fit better into my lifestyle.
I like to do a lot of my studying at home with the iPad/iPhone. The app is pretty good but does have a few glitches here and there; such as not syncing properly across both platforms. The app has definitely got better over time and I’m always impressed with the voice recognition.
I did use the group tutors for a short time at the start but found that I had to keep chopping and changing due to work and other bits. These are a great service & the tutors are really nice. Don’t let it scare you when the warning comes up “no English is spoken in these lessons”. I found that the tutors would converse in English if I didn’t understand or was quite getting what they said. I will come back to the tutor lessons but want to complete the units first. Also I must say that the group session never had anyone but me in which made them a one to one service.
Of course you can never be too sure how much you are picking up until you go to the country you are learning. I believe I’m on the right track when I went to a restaurant in Belgium & they gave me a Dutch menu. Of course there is a massive hill to climb but it does give you confidence when things like this happen.
Well worth having a go & following that dream of learning a language.

I have commented on several occasions that Rosetta Stone advertising emails lead to their internet side, which does not function.
I can never find details or prices.

I tried Babbel and Duolingo but always returned back to Rosetta Stone. I like the simple interface and the method. They don't use translation to teach you. I have my first tutor session scheduled for next week, pretty excited about, actually a bit scared to talk for the first time to a real human in French :)

First time of trying an on-line course. Purchased a year's course in Greek and I'm delighted with it. Took a bit of getting used to because there is not a word of English used anywhere in the course, just verbal and written Greek with pictures to explain what is going on. Found this strange at first but understand now that I am recognising the Greek written language far more effectively than if I had an English translation to fall back on. I'm really quite impressed and would definitely recommend to others. My only query would be with the voice recognition software. At times I know that my pronunciation of certain Greek words is rubbish but the software seems to recognise my despair and gives me an 'OK'. Looking on the plus side this does encourage me to continue but know I must try harder.

If you can commit your time to learning then Rosetta Stone is a good provider. I would recommend you take the plunge and book the online speaking tutor, I didn’t and regret not doing as I would have a better understanding of the language I chose.

Have been learning Turkish for a while, using the Rosetta Stone app.
Originally I studied English, French and Spanish so Turkish was completely new to me. Also this approach, a little like when you learned your own language as a child.
In the beginning I was very unsure, often asking myself: what the hell am I supposed to do now? Then I realized that the app sort of guided me through the course.
I‘ve got to say it‘s a great app. Very intuitive and helping you to speak freely, without fear. The language recognition is very good (as you proceed through the pronunciation exercises, you get a score which you can improve later on).
Another feature which I find great is that you gain a relatively great vocab after a short time. If you give it a try and learn for 10 minutes a day, you get really great results.
The focus really is on speaking which often is not the case when you learn using a grammar and lots of books. I‘ve come to like that a lot.
Overall, I am thrilled to try another language (maybe Russian) and see how I get along with the Cyrillic alphabet 😉

The biggest problem we are facing is the voice recognition, this is quite poor, in fact we prefer not to use it. Since it is frastrating for the kid, it either doensn;t "hear" the voice, or it seem to have a lot of noise destructing the evaluation of the accent, of the students, my daughter in this case.

Really like the fact that I can turn the voice off when I need to just to see if the pronunciation is correct. Enjoy the stories so I feel immersed. Really enjoying learning German though I dont do it daily and I should.

I studied Japanese with Rosetta Stone and my opinion is that it works very well from beginner to intermediate. The beginner gets the kind of immersive experience that makes the intake of new vocabulary easy and spontaneous. The progression is smooth and repetition is well paced. Once you get to intermediate you can still benefit a great deal from the fantastic RS tutors. They are patient, optimistic, and fun. However, when the time comes to fly to advanced level, I suggest something more... advanced. Happy learning!

I bought one subscription for one year and then i wanted to stop. But it was difficult to see where to stop as you made the renewal automatic I think this is wrong. If someone buy for one year then i should have the option to renew and not the option to not renew. Please stop taking money from me and refund me the last month please

Great application to learn like a child would by repitition. I do find I need to do my own research in order to grasp some of the modules and move to the next ones like past present future just as an example.

Great way to learn French, the online tutors make a huge difference too.

Several years ago I had a Rosetta Stone course on DVDs but the online course is much better and not so repetitive. It tells you which elements you have wrong so that you can correct them without being forced to go through the entire section for one small mistake. I find the pictures sometimes a little confusing as to what is happening, but as they are repeated you get used to what they are supposed to be representing, and you can make them larger which is helpful. It is essential to have a microphone with speaking attachment as trying to speak correctly using the laptop microphone often does not work very successfully, which is frustrating. The language builds up gradually with much repetition and I feel happy with my progress so far.

My experience with Rosetta Stone has been frustrating. I signed up to a 24 month access course. I accessed this through the app. I had a question regarding my account access, so tried to talk through the chat option but nobody answered so I sent a message through the 'contact' option, leaving my email address. I waited over a week and still no reply. I sent a further 2 messages and still no reply. Finally I tried the chat option again and after 30 minutes of waiting for someone to chat, I finally managed to ask my question. The whole chat process took 1 hr 20 mins. I wasn't satisfied so I decided to cancel my subscription and received a full refund. I received a review questionnaire which I returned stating my dissatisfaction and added my email address to be contacted, but still never received a response. I keep receiving messages to ask how I'm enjoying the course, so I've taken this opportunity to say how terrible the after sales service is. I enjoyed the learning style of Rosetta Stone but would rather spend my money on a product where the company cares about the customer and has the decency to respond to so many messages.
