Avoid at all costs! Rhodium, Goldcar, Interent what ever they call themselves basically set out to scam as many people as possible.
I paid for all the insurances in advance and when landing in Reus to collect the car they refused to take my Debit Card to cover the deposit. Gave some BS story about currency price fluctuation and because it was a refundable deposit, they wouldn't be able to refund it on debit card.
Our hire agreement clearly states that deposit can be paid on debit card.
They insisted that I paid the deposit via Credit Card, which we don't have one.
The only way for us have the car was suddenly to pay £380 extra plus £150 for fuel...
Guess what? they would happily accept debit card for that!
Just a total scam, preying on tired travellers with young kids.
Disgusting way to treat customers.

We had the worst experience ever while trying to pick up a reserved car from this company in Granada, Spain. We had reserved and insured the car we selected and when we went to pick it we were told out insurance was 'unrecognized' and we would need to place a $1,500 deposit down to pick up the car. I showed the agent the printed out receipt that visibly showed we had purchased insurance and he kept yelling at us that he could not see anything. I finally told him to f off and went to another agency next door and got a car from them, with zero hassle in 5 minutes.

Previous reviewers are correct. We know to avoid Goldcar but this IS Goldcar but under a different name! Do not be tempted by their supposedly cheap prices. You will end up paying more because they will rip you off and it will end up costing you more than using a premium company. I’ve just had a very expensive lesson.., read the reviews first!!

This has been the WORST experience car rental wise ever. I should have checked Trustpilot when it comes to Goldcar and Rhodium. I have been CHARGED EXTRA for smart return (13 euro), diesel (11 euro), worst of all an insurance I didn’t ask for nor did they mention (86 euro) at the desk. All in all I paid an extra 150 euro. So NEVER USE Goldcar/rhodium Mallorca or any other destination.

I am shocked and annoyed that people´s inexperience with car renting end up being ripped off. There are several basic rules to follow with ALL car rental companies:
always read all the booking documents, print all pages and have them with you at vehicle pick-up. Car rentals always include a basic insurance but they will all try to sell you full cover. My excuse is always that my AMEX credit card includes insurance (not true). A deposit using a CREDIT card will ALWAYS been blocked. The money is never taken out. CAR CHECK = always do a thorough inspection with staff and ensure every little scratch/bump is noted. Include roof and low part. When signing on pad, read before. IMPORTANT= look relax and confident, have the booking, license, credit card in your hand at check in, to show that you know and are used to rent car. Finally, allow plenty of time at pick up and return. Rushed customers are more easily scammed. REMEMBER when flying Ryanair or any budget airline, you have to know and follow their rules to the letter to avoid being charged extra (printing of boarding pass, luggage, extra weight, etc...) Well, same with budget car rental co. ENJOY YOUR TRIP

We had a terrible experience with Gold Car in Lisbon. The people working the counter were extremely rude and unhelpful despite them speaking good English. The car came scratched everywhere and dented. None of the people working seemed to care at all. Dropping the car off at the airport was a nightmare. The Gold Car team had a major pile up and did not seem motivated to move the cars to get things moving. I could see this making people late for their flights if they are unprepared. I would look to another company to rent a car in Portugal. Terrible experience.

Absolutely terrible. Booked for an airport pickup at Palma, worst experience of any company ever anywhere. Over two hour queue at the airport then blackmailed into buying €380 of extra insurance, or have €2800 charged to my credit card - that would not be refunded for a month, even if there was no damage - and it was heavily implied this was a big IF, i.e. that they WOULD find damage regardless.' You are made to think you are booking with one company but really it's all Goldcar, who already have a terrible reputation. The actual experience of then picking up and returning the car was also dreadful - chaos and more queues in the car park, people struggling and desperate to drop-off cars or miss flights. I made a formal complaint through Rentalcars.com and the response was just a fob off about signing on the line - but the whole point was being pressure sold into this and being subject to an incredibly stressful and horrible experience, for which they offered no apology or acknowledgement. This is clearly a business model, draw people in with low headline prices then bilk them for every penny at the airport when you have a captive and stressed out clientele. Rentalcars.com should not be dealing with such companies and the fact that they do means I will not be booking through them again, and I would say never ever use Rhodium, Goldcar or Intercar which all seem to be the same rip off company.

No words to decribe my terible experience!
I've booked a car online 4 weeks in advance, got the confirmation and paid the car the same day but on the arrival was a total kaos at the pick up point.'
Has been told the car is coming for two hours in row and no car was available for us despite the fact everything was paid and confirmed in advance. During this waiting time other customers who came after us at the desk, got their keys very gentle and no waiting time!
I had to fight like a hero and become unpleasant to be understood by the desk manager who pretend can't do anything! It was 40 plus degrees on site, I had my family with me, children, no comunication at all with the pick up point stuff, not even a glass with water, extremly non chalant attitude and unprofessional. Finally after two hours they bring a car and I left this horribel place but my holiday was already destroied. I was so confuse by this attitude that I walked straight into Sixt rentalcar office nearby where I've been very welcome and open my account instantly but then my wife said the car was already there and we decided to save the money already payed.
I use Rhodium before in Spain and never had any issue but Milano Malpensa looks way different. It is defiently an organising issue as we couldn't get any information we asked, everything they knew was: "the car is coming".
People of Rhodium, this are our holidyas! this is not a glocery store where you can go back and buy more milk if it's missing. You work with families with children not objects you can treat like your rubish, got it !?

I booked a car from 27.09.-09.10.19 for Faro/Portugal. I hate Diesel and booked as 'fuel type petrol'. At the office at Faro Airport they told me that only Diesel cars available. What a mess! But the naughtiness is that they invoiced a special Diesel fee after returning the car. I booked from Germany about Holiday Cars. In the meantime I demanded a statement from both companies but nothing happened. Now I can only say: don't book cars at Rhodium or Holiday Autos. Thanks.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! NEVER EVER CHOOSE RHODIUM!!! We booked a car online together will full insurance coverage. When landed in Bari, we simply could not find Rhodium, no signs, nobody heard of them in the airport area. So I called the number, and surprisingly it didn´t exist! So I looked them up online and find all these horrible customer experience (too late) and BTW there was also mentioning that it was actually Gold Car. So we searched for the Gold Car, that we finally finded. Firstly I asked how come they don´t have any signs anywhere so how could any customer find them and reply was: "By luck?" Then I showed our reservation to a lady behind the desk and she told me we didn´t pay any insurance whereas when I booked the car I choosed complete insurance coverage and paid for that! The lady said it was not true, and to be fully covered, I have to pay additional 190 EUR! I wanted to cancel all this nightmare but she said I would loose all the money, so I finally paid. Then again, she said they have to block another 160 EUR in case I wouldn´t return the car with full tank. Ok, I signed the form electronically confirming the blocking AND later on that day I found a form in my e-mail I have never seen before SIGNED BY ME informing me, that the car I rented is without any damage which I confirmed by my signature!!! At the desk she didn´t say a word about it! Before we drove off with the car, we took pictures of all damage and we are going to return the car within several days, so we will see what they come up with. Last but not least, I booked small Fiat 500 and they gave me Dacia! I said I wanted Fiat, they told me it was not available and that these cars are stolen most and that´s it. I checked my account and they are blocking 3 amounts, first one is the original one when I booked online, then the block for full tank and the third amount nobody knows what for and why!!! I am totally horified. The only plus I can see that what doesn´t kill me makes me stonger and next time I will definitely go for some well known respectable company.

Arrived tonight at 10pm, had ordered a specific car to fit with the driving I had planned in rural/mountainous areas. Was offered what could only be described as a city car by a very rude heavy set American woman at Goldcar/Interrent/Rhodium Biarritz. I explained this was not what I had requested or paid for and would not be happy to take the car on offer. No alternative was offered and I was threatened with the police without grounds. I challenged the large American woman behind the desk as to what I had said or done to merit this as I had merely asked her to escalate the problem to her manager and had not been rude, abusive or threatening in any way. I felt very intimidated and bullied by this woman having just arrived in a foreign country and as a result I left without a car. Her threat was inappropriate as she was unable to give a reason beyond you won't accept what I have offered you. This place is a scam. I have had to rent a car at another agency and I dont even know will I get my money back.
I note when she was threatening me with the police she proceeded to issue a vehicle to a group of very intoxicated men. Not only did they have a strong smell of alcohol off them but I can vouch for the fact that they were well over the limit as they were sitting beside me on the plane and I witnessed them having 3 gin and tonics each on our short 90 minute flight. They were also behaving as if they were drunk. Very irresponsible indeed of Goldcar/Interrent/Rhodium Biarritz!!

My worst experience with a car rental ever!!!
I booked my car in advance and prepaid it. I booked a higher class and a bigger car to accommodate 5 people with luggage (for an extra ~$200). At the arrival I was told that they didn't have any bigger cars and gave me a mini. They charged me the extra fees and taxes at the location even though they had been prepaid and the voucher clearly stated that. They refused to adjust the price to a different car class. Instead they gave me a customer service email to address the issue. I had my 82yo parents with me, and after a 9h flight I simply wanted to get to the hotel and get our rest. I've tried calling the company, and every time they transferred the call to the airport location, which never answers. The only time they answered, they gave me an email address to address the issue and refusing to change the car to the one I had originally booked and paid for. And guess what?!?! The customer service ignored all my emails!!! I will try to dispute the charge with my credit card bank. Very disappointed with this company. This company is affiliated with Goldcar. Again, STAY AWAY!!!

Excellent :-) we rented a car at Rhodium in Dubrovnik. It was by far the cheapest offer, if you don’t need extra insurance. After a short wait for our turn, the car was handed over. No hard trying to sell insurance, after I told them, that my travel insurance covered. The car was clean and the tank was full.
When we handed the car back a week later, there were no discussions, they just asked if everything was ok, which it was, and the same evening, we got a mail saying that all was good, and there were no extra charges.

There is no desk in Istanbul airport you cant reach them they don't pick up a call. We tried to cancel it wasn't possible they just get the money without any service!!!

This company is a total rip off, they hide charges and lack of transparency. Vehicles are not up to standard, must be Goldcar rejects. Have spent a few weeks attempting to get a refund for hidden charges, but have now given up. I feel totally disappointed with their service and will NEVER ever use them again.

Do not recommend this company, for three reasons:
1) I had to wait a lot to pick up the vehicle.
2) I had to pay a EUR 10.00 extra fee for a Diesel vehicle, because they ran out of gasoline vehicles. However, I have never requested a Diesel vehicle.
3) Shortly after I have picked up the vehicle, I have noticed that the diesel tank is only about 40% full. I could not easily return to the rental car office, because I had a one-year old baby in the car and I needed to take it home so that it could sleep. I have requested a refund for the missing diesel, but the rental office said I should contact customer service, and customer service has not even responded to my email.

1. Reception with intimidation about insurrance
2. Unfriendly and unhelpful service at the pick-up, unclear about process of registered damages
3. At return, impossible to spot damages to the roof where found, we are sure they must have been there before, but unlikely to notice at pick-up, I'm convinced they will be claimed over and over.
4. at return agent was unwilling to supply a confirmation that the car was returned, very stressfull shortly before departure.
5. Creditcard was charged for total deposit car/fuel, instead of a reservation, so now I need to go after my money
6. we are now in process of getting back our deposit, Goldcar / Rhodium is unavailable and unhelpful

Dreadful experience at Marseilles.
Insistence on trying to charge for insurance I insisted I didn’t need, further ‘autres’ applied with no detail (there were no extras required), near 2 hour wait to get car, lies about the car radio code being an extra charge- when pressed they admitted they didn’t know it, extra driver charge more than the cost of the full hire charge.
Never ever again will Rhodium or Goldcar sully my life.

Was told to avoid Gold car so booked with Rhodium. At Geronia airport I couldn't find an office for Rhodium so asked at the info desk and was told it was GOLDCAR!!!!
Car was lovely i only needed it to get to my villa so it had little use over the 6 days and was returned at 7am in the same condition with the tank full. Office was closed so had to drop off keys.
Next day receive a bill for €100 to damage to front right wheel. Luckily I had photographed all over the car both on collection and drop off. That aside it is obviously not the same wheel as it's covered in mud and my photos show a clean tyre. SCAM SCAM SCAM. I have tried to block credit card payment and opened an incident with GOLDCAR, which was not simple and took having to ring Madrid and be talked through the process. ( lady on phone was actually nice and helpful)
Avoid this company.

Not at all happy with the hidden charges!! I booked online before my holiday and was told there was just £25 to pay upon collection of vehicle. When I arrived I was told I needed to leave a deposit of 1100 euros, which I wasn’t able to do. I therefore had to pay an additional £25 per day for extra insurance cover, after already paying £90. I would definitely not use them again.

Over 2 hours to get our car, the car was so poor that to get up hills the air con off, warning lights all over the dash and fuel gauge not working with 5liters of any amount put in.
Complained on all points and was told sorry we hope you use us again.
No explaination, or offer to refund or discount, nothing.
