I had an account for 9 days, made a few replys, and then on my 1st post I was attacked as a creepy conservative, yet that personal attack isn't against the rules, likely due to how the 10 yr user phrased it. As other reviews have stated this site is really just become crap. It is not worth the expenditure of energy to type a post or reply.
Don't waste your time use MeWe instead.

Anyone who is struggling should be very aware that the support groups are not what they seem. People will attack you, there are trolls, and most importantly, the mods will be abusive in the very ways you have come to heal. For those of us isolated and trying to heal, the "community" is so needed. Messages feel like they are from real friends or a group even. But as you start to think to maybe get attached, you must know that those important, real bonds you are sharing are mixed with something very bad, I did meet people and share conversations that mattered. There were some very good times. But it ultimately ended in pain and had I known this, I would never have started.
After reading these reviews about NPCs posting everywhere, I feel really grossed out wondering if more of my conversations were fake than I expected. If you are in a vulnerable place and isolated, the groups seems good and are at first. I know the most important conversations were real and meant something to myself and the person I was talking to. But the whole dynamic is sick, get floods of messages and hundreds of upvotes for a "popular" post in a support group about trauma?? No, that's disgusting. I kept leaving groups where I would get caught in this wave of false attention and hear nothing when i was struggling. But the dynamic followed me everywhere.
You should not be able to up vote or down vote a post about abuse. I was disabled and I was isolated and some of what I read I used to get myself through my struggle. It was a very difficult place to be social with a lot of bad people. I was able to use it as a practice ground for developing my skills and establishing how I would deal with bad and difficult people. I was aware I could be engaging with a troll, but now I see that reddit allows fake bots to chat with people. omg, I am sick!
The mods are absolutely a horror to deal with. They were the most disrespectful, abusive people I ever spoke to on Reddit and in places that were declared safe spaces. Disgusting. My non extreme left statements were belittled and censored. i was bullied after being drawn in to be vulnerable with other survivors. I am a person who escaped the toxic brainwashing of the radical left myself. I don't even actually know all of what "radical left" means as I was immersed in it before. I'm just a normal person who thinks we should do what is most effective for the country the best we can, take care of our vulnerable populations like a wealthy country normally does, and people need to grow up and be adults. Center, moderate left, bipartisan, I guess?
I know I do not fit with them and the reddit mods made it clear I was not welcome with my free speech also. They should have stated that because i would not have shared such personal things had I known they would attack me. I did feel the oppression. I was drawn in by the community they said they wanted to make but it's just not. It's people acting selfishly all around, exacerbated by this incredibly toxic dynamic of upvoting and downvoting. I am surprised by comments here saying they miss the free speech because as a recent visitor, I can't even imagine reddit being a place for free speech. It does make me feel better to know that's what it was supposed to be and that I had a reason to expect much better than what happened. I had read many reviews before I tried it out. The articles are wrong and these reviews are correct.
Feeling a little better about my possible life in recovery too reading so many reviews here that described my exact issue lately, feeling oppressed and Orwellian. Maybe it was mostly from using reddit? I've always stayed away from socializing on the internet, but a support group definitely seemed different. It should be different. You cannot have untrained mods in a place that is purporting to be a safe place for victims of violence to speak freely and heal. It's not even that the mods are bad, the whole system is wrong. This is not a place for anything but shriveled self hating weak people and high sparkly oxytocin bursting pops. It's the same as all other social media. It is not different like I thought. Just gross. Weird pandering to the masses of the beauty of human resilience. It becomes an objectifying spectacle for the privileged people's entertainment who remain ignorant. Maybe I've been dealing with more stress than I realized if standards are so low in reddit and I was not realizing it. Maybe my life will be even easier now that I leave and go back to my regular life only.

What once was a bastion of free speech was infiltrated by those that seek to censor and control your thoughts and to promote their anti-white agenda.

They ban braincels for inciting hatred and violence while they literally just post funny memes while IncelTears bullies men and they can stay.

Reddit has slowly gotten worse over the years and since accepting money from a Chinese censorship company any opinions that are not agreed with are swiftly silenced while communist subreddits that advocate for the murder of cops are allowed to reach the front page. Not worth it anymore.

Reddit is a left-wing liberal $#*!hole. Stay away at all cost. They censor anything that does not fit the liberal agenda.

Reddit is a censorship platform that deletes and bans opposing views to the current trend of hyper-liberalism.

Numerous times Reddit has released statements saying they aren't politically biased. They have once again proven themselves to be exactly what they say they aren't. Facts become opinions even with cited sources.
Reddit was once my favorite website... Now they are nothing but the enemy of the people,

While this site claims to be a place for community dialog and conversation, it falls well short of it's intent. I would say it approaches Berlin wall era censorship.

Reddit bans and blocks anyone who disagrees with the mainstream narrative. Project Vertias, The_Donald...ect.

These admins are so hypocritical and dumb. Banning subs for not aligning with your political ideologues is stupid. Rest in peace CA, MDE, and clown world war. You will be missed. See you on /pol/.

Communities such as r/waterniggas occasionally get banned by the admins for no reason, while r/ageplaypenpals is allowed to pretend they're having sex with their kids. Politically neutral communities delete comments and ban users whose views they don't like. Reddit used to be great, but it's not anymore

Basically, outside of very niche subverses, most of the content is either advertising for something or pushing a particular narrative. Actual content does exist in some niche subs (hobby subs for example) but the frontpage and most larger subs are basically corporations trying to influence people. Anything very popular (or very unpopular) is generally that way only because of bots and algorithms means to promote or suppress certain ways of thinking.

It's as the title says... Nonsense bans or quarantines to some subreddits are being dolled out on a weekly basis while vile subs - like r/ChapoTrapHouse - are allowed to persist untouched. Give r/WatchRedditDie and r/SubredditCancer if you want some examples of what I'm referring to.
This site's being turned into a tool to push an agenda, just like Facebook and Twitter, and I hope it fails because of it.

A place where some of the stupidest and most hateful people on the web congregate. Browsing this website will significantly reduce your faith in humanity. Literally everyone would be better off of if this entire place were nuked.

The admins are pretty hardcore left-wingers, and endorse subreddits that harass and attack people the admins don't like.

My account was suspended for vote manipulation because I upvoted the issue impacting my VPN service (on their VPN subreddit) when I was on that VPN. I appealed the decision because it was obviously an error on their part but the site mods ignored and kept it in place. The site mods hide behind a veil of anonymity and have no accountability on the site. They are not trained or knowledgeable and do not give any response as to why they permitted the full length of the ban. They do not care about the end users but do care about censoring for their sponsors and owners (Tencent chinese conglomerate).

I was banned after being in for a month. Not only was the moderator rude and nasty, but l was told that he/she did not have to tell me a reason. I was shocked at the level of rudeness. This site could not be monitored professionally.

So I just put a negative review of Mercari on reddit under the Mercari conversations. So I was banned. I guess only positive reviews are accepted which is why their rating on that site is high. I used no names or inappropriate wording, I only told my story and now I'm banned from adding anything to the conversation. So ridiculous!

I have been on this site for over 6 years, and I have never seen anyone on The_Donald sub call for violence.
You can go to any other sub and see vile threats against our President, and reddit allows it to stay, and even promotes it.
If you want to join a site that is akin to commie wannabe propaganda, and led by globalist tools, then reddit is the place for you.
But if you are looking for freedom of speech, then look elsewhere.

I was banned from a page by r/verdammt without even being able to defend my post. I told them the ban was typical, so they answered back and then muted me. I found this 'person's' page and sent them a message further explaining my post, and my account was suspened for harassment. On top of that, I could not reply to the suspension or appeal to admins. Freakin pathetic! I honestly wasn't liking it anyway.

If you want to have nothing but far-left propaganda on a constant loop, and a community of far-left people all patting themselves on the back, then look no further than Reddit!
By actively suppressing and banning anyone with a dissenting viewpoint, Reddit is turning itself into the perfect model of Orwellian control to kill free speech.
Not surprising, since they recently accepted a lot of Chinese money.

This site is not truly free speech. I've been banned from threads for posting non racial replies to threads. Guess they couldn't handle a conversation.
I give up with this place. You post something you think is non controversial and it turns some how gets twisted into a racial comment by twisted posted comments. Gee thanks. Guess we do not live in a melting pot that gets along. It's way too easy to offend some one's pride on this website and you get slurred repeatedly. Some how you get banned instead of the person hating on you. You over post too much and you get banned from a thread. Even if you say nothing offensive or out of line. I've tried several times over the years and I just give up. I've been a regular on certain forms and apparently I'm "too real" for them and they can't handle reality being shoved in their faces. I give up with this place!
I've been through so many accounts with the same email just to be able to post regularly I give up! Even if you're not in violation of the rules you some how get banned from this place. Guess they don't like people who enjoy replying to every thread.
I use to follow a thread related to my employment and I've had to create several posts just to be able to post on it. Guess they can't handle the truth. I've violated no terms of services it's just the mods not being able to handle a negative comment written in a positive way. I use to be for the sties why kroger sucks but now I report them all to Kroger ethics board. They are not affiliated with them at all but they sure the hell are piggy backing on Kroger's name and thus they are representing the company.

Save yourself the time if you happen to be Conservative, Libertarian, Centrist or just plain old reasonable...this site is not for you. Used the site for over a decade and it has become a shell of its former self. It used to be a great place where people with similar interests could get together and chat about various topics, but then something changed and the site went full authoritarian-Left and is currently mass banning any sub section (subreddit) that doesnt to the line.
They have ruined everything great about the site in order to become yet another propaganda wing of mass media. Reddit is no longer 'The Front Page Of The Internet,' it's now just a place to push specific ideals and values, there is no community or free speech anymore.
