I am new to the program having recently moved from MYOB. I am finding it easy to navigate and my questions have been promptly answered by support. 5 stars from me.

Reckon remains the provider of the best on-line and stand alone accounting software, being Reckon Accounts, Reckon Hosted and Reckon One for businesses, backed up by Reckon Elite (or APS) for the needs of the accounting professionals. Reckon doesn't have the headlines of other providers such as MYOB and Xero, but has the far superior products in the humble view of your Scribe.

Had reckon then they upgraded all the items without my permission till I had more than my accountant and paid $62 a month. Recently threw out the expensive programme and got cheaper one which suited my business for $15. Now I find I can’t get my old files and am held at ransom from them - will have to pay $420 to migrate old files to new programme which means i loose all old business files. Don’t use this unless your rich which I’m not

We were running Reckon 2014 with payroll and inventory without issue and forced to move to subscription. All of our data became "read only" so useless without changing and paying. This after being told that our software would remain operational but wouldn't be supported any longer. Fair enough on the support front but to cut us off was unconscionable. In addition, every telephone support person we spoke with from Reckon told us a different story. Extraordinarily disappointing for a company we have been with and paid updates to for 11 years. To make matters worse, we have a relatively slow internet connection so hosted runs very slow, making the whole experience extremely bad. Thanks Reckon...not.

Giving this company a 1 star review is being generous. Reckon Ltd has just introduced itself to the "bad practice" sector of companies.
On the 1 July it decommissioned it's licencing server so that my fully paid for version of Quickbooks Accounting will no longer work. Basically they are blackmailing users into purchasing a subscription version of their product. If this is what has happened to you then contact the ACCC to lodge your dissatisfaction with the company practices.
Reckon has replied to my criticism of their decision citing that they can't support the product that I have any longer. To sweeten the transition they will offer a highly discounted updated (presumably subscription) product. However, I think I should be the decider when it comes to having my version of the product supported or not. After the initial support period I have been on my own anyway. I was never overly enamoured with the support answers I received from Reckon support. If future PC operating systems render the software unusable then so be it. I'm not asking Reckon for anything except to release my paid for version of Quickbooks Accounting from their control. I'll worry about the incompatibilities, etc. In Reckon's reply to my citicism, Reckon gave me a number to call in order to take up their 'offer'. I was advised when I first called Reckon that it would be a waste of time speaking to anyone else as there isn't anyone who can reverse the company decision. I have read reviews from other dissatisfied Reckon customers who have been caught up in the same issue and I would suggest that they follow my lead in contacting the ACCC to bring this trading practice to their attention.
Ironically, I only just changed to a new computer on 21 June 2019 with a Windows 10 operating system. There didn't appear to be any compatibility issues but the activation was short-lived as the product required re-licencing on 1 July 2019. Surely on 21 June would have been the time to inform me of Reckon's intentions to stop my product from working.
As for Reckon's concern about the accounting future of our operation and payroll, etc, - I use the Quickbooks Accounting very simply. I have bills in, invoices out and then I reconcile. No employees and nothing I do is affected by any changes in tax rules. to call Reckon would be to discuss Reckon's options - the option to continue using the product as I have successfully done for 10 years has been taken away from me.
So in reply to Reckon, I won't be updating to a more recent Quickbooks product.

The support team are defective it will take 45 minutes to answer the phone and he didn't have the knowledge to answer my question

Just for your information we are a IT company as well and i called on behalf of my customer to ask a very simple question which was do you offer any standard file format for import bulk data transactions to your system or do you support API after 45 minutes someone answer my call told me yes but I don’t know how i asked for his manager and he wasn’t very useful either and just told me i need to contacts API support team and i had to wait another 50 minutes for someone to come and tell me he doesn’t know either and suggested me to send a email to your support team.
I don’t believe Australia market deserved to be treated like that and had to deal with your offshore support team.
If you were interested to follow up on how your support team treat your customers I have evidence for my transparent feedback

Criminals cancelling 2013 version not giving out a licence key, whilst older versions still working even though that is not the point. I paid over 800 for this version and now they are going to block us off because they want us to go online. I refuse to go on line it is not safe or reliable. Now I have to look for some other program.
I work for many company's doing bookkeeping and this was always my favourite program. Thankfully I did not need support for I new how to use the system better than their staff. I had people calling me when they had issues with the program after the support center could not help them. Just shows the owners only care about money and not their customers.
They are saying that windows will not support 2013 but it still supports all the old ones and they have not been blocked from use. WHY? We as individuals should have the choice to change when it suits us or when our own computers won't support them any more. Not be blocked out of them so that we have to pay monthly subscriptions and go online.

Reckon one is modern and simple, but experiencing some bugs...
Reporting is rather limited.
Overall it works well, there are some fancy integrations with third party apps.

I have been a Reckon user for several (perhaps 10 years) but I am looking to transition away following a series of debacles. And now, just to cap it off, their STP interface and support is completely hopeless. ATO tell me Reckon is having a problem and that is supported by 4 consecutive days of being unable to get a response from the Reckon (so-called) Advantage line. Should be renamed Disadvantage line. Furthermore the whole of the Reckon suite, including Reckon Personal Accounts, of which I am also a user, seems not to recognise the existence of Mac operating system. Time to move off that too.

I have been using Reckon /Quicken products since 1993 but never again. To connect to customer service is an absolute pain. Over 30 minutes wait time today.
They lost my business several weeks ago when I received fantastic service from an opposition accounting package after only a 2 minute wait.
If you are so busy employ more people on the phone.

Program is very good, easy to use. Taxation info is all at your fingertips. Customer service staff always friendly, courteous, patient and helpful.

I have been using Reckon for a number of years. I find it very helpful
in completing my annual taxation return.
The module for keeping in touch with my small share portfolio
is a particularly useful tool.
Also it is a great way to budget and keep on top of personal expenditure.
There could be a move in the market place for smaller accounting packaged programs to be swallowed by the larger companies. I hope Reckon can remain independent. Edward Elliott

Very poor customer service. Had a question regarding purchase order templates and the answer I received from sales was I don't no. Really you are in sale and you should no.
The support team is no good at all. Rarely do you get someone who has an understanding on how Reckon works. Would not recommend Reckon to anyone

Reckon is a very unfriendly product - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE even when you look on the blog that many people have the same issues with NO postive answer.
My employees pays were entered correctly 1st two weeks then doubled all pay runs then show "ERROR or Draft" yet ATO has double payments for them. I cant even adjust as I cant see where the double ups came from' NO RECOMMENDED at all
