Rattan and Yamee bikes are the same, do not buy either of these brands. I bought a bike for over $1,000 and its been over 8 months. They will not respond to emails and will not send the bike. Eric Yam is the person who took my money and now will not respond. Total unprofessional and irresponsible person.

34 days since the bike was supposed to arrive and it's still not here, nor are they responding to my email or phone messages. One phone number on their website doesn't work, and the other is a 900 number with a voicemail which doesn't even identify their business. I've contacted BBB so hopefully they can help me get my money back. Don't do business with them!
UPDATE: Finally got the bike after I filed a report with PayPal and the Better Business Bureau. They still have not contacted me. When it finally got here, there were scratches, the part that holds the battery on was broken, the tires are paper thin, and several parts were just bouncing around loose in the box....and holes in the box. Some of the pieces of the bike were installed backward. There were no tools nor instructions on how to assemble it. There was a link to the manual on the website, but the link does not work. I was able to find the manual through Google but it reads like it was translated through Google and isn't much help. There are warnings about how to properly operate the battery which don't make much sense in the broken English. There are so many bad reviews from other people describing similar experiences to my own, I wish I'd seen them before I spent all that money! My bike is charging right now, but at the rate things are going, I doubt it will turn on (UPDATE: I was right, it doesn't. Par for the course, apparently). I strongly encourage everyone to go with a company that takes pride in its service. It's a beautiful bike, and it does feel nice to sit on, so I'm hoping it works, but even if it does, I'm terrified to trust it based on my experiences and all the stories I'm reading about peoples' batteries dying on a ride. I was so excited, but all these experiences have really soured me to this experience.

I bought 2 bikes and they worked pretty good but then a battery died within the first year so it was under warranty. I emailed customer service and after a few weeks got a response and they were sending me a battery. Well that was in February and I still don’t have a battery and can’t ride my bike. I put pressure on them and they said they sent it last week. I asked for a tracking number which they gave me and I felt I would have a battery on Tuesday, today. Well, all they did was generate a fed ex ticket but never sent anything. I called the phone number and it was no good. THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM !!! It’s a shame because I’m ready to buy 2 more from someone else.

Terrible customer service , can’t do the simplest thing like attaching a picture to an email.
English was also not the first language of the customer service assistant
I have no confidence in the company and did not make an order

Lucky I came here first before purchasing. I almost gave them $1300. Not sure what it was but something told me to check here or with the BBB. Boy I’m so glad I did. I will save my money and keep looking. It’s a shame how these “businesses” will take advantage of people especially during these troubling times. Money is indeed the root of all evil.

6 days after placing the order, no update, no email. They don't answer phone calls. Looks like this store is vacated. I'm reporting to my credit card company. Beware.

Interested in buying the bike, all the positive reviews and videos on line got me very excited in narrowing down my first ebike purchase, stumbled onto these reviews and checked out this address. No one in this building selling ebikes. Had another opportunity to ride one ,checked out the info. Just an address no phone number. Is this a scam?? Feel bad for everyone else who purchased it, thanks for saving me a headache, almost got sucker punched. Do all these reviewers who look like cool guys get paid for stealing our money on the side?

I felt bad about writing this earlier review above (the first time in my life) for all to read so I double checked the Rattan website and found a new address listed above suggested as "where we are" on the site. Well, I checked again, no phone number again and the address is listed as a Electronics and Metal recycling facility so now I'm really confused. All we ask is a little transparency and if you can afford it honesty too. I'm in my 60's and really need a good ebike to get these old bones up the hill once in awhile.

The motor failed after two months, but I cannot reach Rattan. The company does not answer emails and the one time I got an answer on the "hotline," it rang to a local bike shop in the LA Area. I bought the bicycle through Electric Boarding Company, which claims it cannot reach Rattan, either, though it is still taking orders for new Rattan bikes to be delivered mid-July (??). Rattan has also done a major update to its website since the pandemic started.

Garbage...less than 150 miles and died, stay away from this, get a Sondors X fold and be happy, they do not want to replace my ebike because I deleted the email with the invoice ...but they used my pics on the indigo campaign LOL....the nerve, so what the ebike came from the sky in a box to me ? ...is ok, I would never recommend this brand, I will just throw the orange garbage away.

Opened of Christmas eve, excited to put it together. I had it ready and charged the battery overnight and so (today) Christmas day i find the battery (even though fully charged) won’t turn on. It does seem to be a manufacturing defect most likely the Lithium ion pack itself. Will be posting this everywhere.

The bike came missing the pedals, instruction manual, and tools to assemble it. The front frame was also rusted. There was also loose pieces in the box and it the packaging was very sloppy and unprofessional.

About
Rattan was founded on the belief that a business doesn't have to compromise to create great products at great prices. We hope to pass a positive attitude towards life to all through our products. We are all a little wild at heart, are we not? There is much to be gained from traveling and seeing the world. We should all embrace at least a little wanderlust. But let us not forget the end goal; in the wise words of T.S. Elliot, "We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time." Now, riding your bike and let's go for a trip! Becasue you will nerver know how beautiful the world is before you go outside. Then you will find that we are not selling you a cool bike but the amazing scenery along the way.
Our team has only been in existence for only 5 years since its inception. During these five years, we have grown a lot and won the praise of many customers. But we still clearly understand that there are many places where we are not perfect. So if you have any suggestions, please be free to contact us, we believe that with your help, we will become better.
Thank you again, our lovely customers —— Rattan
