Everything went fast and smooth. Got me a rate of 3.84%. They e-mailed me a pre-paid UPS label to send my documents back overnight and sent me a e-mail the following day to confirm they got the requested documents. Very professional on the phone and the whole process took place over the course of two days.

My new 2019 GMC Terrain with 6,500 miles on it was able to be refinanced after 6 months of payments with GM Financial. 7th month I take the time to check into it. Rate is currently 4.54%. Told Rategenius my interest was ONLY in a lower RATE not monthly payment. My credit score is excellent, car has plenty of equity in it as we put 5,000 down and VERY low miles,, I pay extra every month on the principal, and every upgrade under the sun. Our income level is no where near an issue. They replied within hours stating they couldn't help me. IT'S BECAUSE THESE SITES WANT TO GIVE YOU LOWER MONTHLY PAYMENTS!! Don't be dumb. Your rate and your time frame of payments is the key!! I'll survive because it's a game for me to play with rates and 0% cards, their average percentage they offer to clients is 2.99-16%, who the heck could benefit form a 16% loan rate??? My 21 year old daughter bought her first new (used) car, no co-signer, 20,000 loan and qualified for 3% at the dealership thru Ardent CU. Know your stuff these loan sites are ruthless. Rategenius is only a grabber site, go to your local CU or bank directly.

I had a bad experience with RateGenius. I work in a no cell-phone signal zone, and so when I was on lunch break, I saw that RateGenius employee "Geoff" wanted to talk to me about lowering my car loan Rate to 6% apr. He called during My late lunch break at 2 p.m. and I picked up, he said he needed my vin #, and I said I could get it for him in 30 seconds, and he said just call him back when I had it. Less than 30 seconds later, my wife sent me the VIN # and I was calling him back, but I only got his voice mail. I then texted him "I have the VIN # now". Then he responded quickly "Yes just one sec

So I waited for him to call me back, after half an hour of waiting I texted him again, and I called him again with no response. I couldn't go back to work, because my work place won't let me accept cellphone calls. So I waited another hour and I called him again, and texted him, and he still didn't pick up. I ended up waiting from 2-6p.m. waiting for a call, and I wasn't able to get back to work, which upset my boss.
Later the next day he Told me that he had been out of the office since 2:45 p.m. then he asked me to call him first thing that morning.... And so I called him right after getting the text from him, but then he texted him saying he couldn't pick up because he was in a meeting and it would be 15 minutes. Once again I had to wait to go to work, so I would be able to make the phone call, after about 30-45 minutes he calls back, gets all my info, and then says he wants to remind me the rate he can offer me is 7.5% apr instead of the 6%. He had never told me previously that he was changing the rates, and only did this after All the hassle and after I gave him my info, and wasted another 3 hours of work time the next day.... After all of this, and having a moment to think about it, I cancelled the case of working with them. I know this is probably just a bad experience with one of their employees, but it was very frustrating, and a very bad experience.....

Robert Colby has helped me on two different occasions over the past 6 years. He is so good at what he does the whole process is made simple and uncomplicated. Update: I change my 1 star to a 4 star. Because a manager got someone else to get in touch with me. Kamron Holt has been taking great care of me and keeping in touch with refinancing my loan! I’m happy now.
I wanted to see if I could possibly lower my rate because I improved my credit quite a bit over the past year. My rate currently is 5% but I just wanted to see if there’s any chance I could even get a 4 or a 3% to just get my car payment a little down. I saw the hit on my credit because someone checked but I didn’t receive a call for a few days and then Robert Castaneda finally emailed me to see if I was still interested. We briefly talked on the phone because he called at a bad time. He said to just email my car vin number over and he would call me back the next day. Well it’s been 3 days and I’ve emailed him and called to try to get in touch and he had just ignored me. I was told by a customer service rep I was approved though. I’m really eager to see if I can even get my monthly payment down by 20$ and I would be happy, but I can’t seem to get in touch with my loan officer. I’ve learned that If loan officers can’t get much money out of the deal then they will throw you to the side. I’m really annoyed that he can’t give me the time of day to respond to an email. I did however talk to a very kind customer service rep that I wish I got the name of. He did as much as he could to try to get a loan officer to answer the phone. I stayed on hold for 20 mins and he said he was so sorry but no one would answer the phone. He said he would let management know.
He is the only reason I’m giving 1 star. I’m highly disappointed with their service otherwise. I don’t recommend.

I apply for rate genius got an email that said I have a great deal. I was excited about them helping me and when they told me that there rate was higher then my original rate. It a little aggravating thinking they were going to be lowered but in reality they gave me a horrible rate. You shouldn't send emails to a potential customer lying to them about your great deal. Then I get I'm sorry we couldnt help and they cancel my application afterwards.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I made the mistake of giving them my info and so far they have pulled my credit a half dozen times with no end in sight and doing damage to my rating. I have emailed them and asked them to stop but so far no response. Update.... I just called and spoke to a rep that was EXTREMELY rude. He claims he is going to "pass a message" along that I want them to stop checking my credit then proceeded to argue with me about how they were not harming my credit then hung up on me. I know they are because I'm sitting here watching the score go down. Wow, UNPROFESSIONAL and SHOCKING plus they've damaged my credit.

If there was a rating I could give them less then a 0 that would be my score the person I was dealing with Oma was horrible when you ask for documents that I did not have to show while purchasing a house that’s a problem then once I requested my items back they where loss still weeks later still know return call please don’t deal with this company they are horrible I hope someone from corporate sees this they have know idea the people with poor customer service they have dealing with public up to and including the supervisors or managers whatever there title may be

First loan officer did not reach out to me nor respond and their phone number just rang busy. Was assigned to second officer who was not helpful and must have hoped that I cannot do simple math. They offered me a lower payment of $40 but to add on almost 20 months! of what I am currently scheduled. Ummm, at $400 a month this is no bargain and I would be paying approximately $7k-8k more in total. BEWARE!

I have no complaints!! They have been extremely helpful except my first agent who ended up not staying with rate genius. It was fast, friendly and accurate. I can text or call which is convenient!! I love all the extra benefits I have not yet taken advantage of. I just wish I knew my rate could of been alot lower as I am reading in alot of comments from other people. I would definitely recommend rate genius.

Let me preface by saying the actual loan portion of this is wonderful. Dropped my rate from 19.6 to under 5. I think my issue is with my actual loan officer. The complete lack of communication after multiple emails and phone calls is ridiculous! I was following up to see if I needed to make the monthly payment for my existing loan and found out my officer filled out the paperwork wrong so I had to redo everything, something about 45 day first payment instead of 50. Mistakes happen, I get that, but every phone call or email I make for information/assistance is not returned. I'd say 5 to 1, every 5 times I reach out I get one communique back. I'd give 1 star but the refinance rate is so good I'm giving it 2 stars.

Besides me having to resend the paperwork in a few times, the process was easy and I was notified each step of the way. Ashley Jefferson was great to work with. She definitely got me a greater interest rate. I would recommend rate genius to my family and friends!
