We were very excited by Ranorex and thank God they are offering trial period. We have various apps from Powerpoint plugins, iOS, Android, Windows store, Angular (Webapps) and that was the reason to consider Ranorex.
The play and record function is terrible, not even one app could replay recorded test case without failure and I'm talking about very simple and basic test cases on various technologies. If we tried to execute only steps which were failing they didn't fail. Only error we got is something like "Failed to find item 'XYZ.ApplicationUnderTest.Gold'. Please check that your whitelist allows Ranorex to access the process." Interesting because that was 7th step in test case, somehow first 6 steps could access the process!
IDE is unstable. For example, for some crazy reason spy and recorder didn't see app from IDE but if we ran standalone version of spy or recorder, who'la it's working.. Well at least it looks like it's working. I found possible workaround on their troubleshoot page but it's not working.
In 3 days we couldn't do anything with this tool unlike some free tools that were way more intuitive and reliable. We didn't even try mobile considering how it works on it's native platform Windows.
I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone, or maybe it works better with older apps written in C# or C++ but for our apps it was terrible.
Ranorex is in my opinion jack of all trades master of none.

Bad service, it feels like they don't care even when their application is broken. Cost an arm and a leg to subscribe, It's best to stick to building your own Framework.

I’ve been looking for a good automation tool for quite a while now, and I am happy to say that Ranorex is perfect for me. It was hard to find a tool which is both easy-to-use and supports a lot of different technologies, platforms and devices, but with Ranorex, my dream came true :-) All in all I would definitely recommend it, also because there is a free trial available.

I´ve been working in the field of test automation for many years. As a test engineer, I´ve tried many different test automation tools but Ranorex is really the best one I´ve used. It´s realiable, easy-to-use and can be easily integrated into existing testing processes. Also the support team is really, really friendly, helpful and speedy.

Very interesting tool for automated GUI and regression testing. It works for developers and QA's as you can write code or use the Ranorex interface to setup and manage your test cases. I definitely would recommend it if you are looking into software test automation.

Ranorex is a tool allowing testers with limited or no coding knowledge to focus on testing and automation of tests.
I have been using it for multiple apps for over two years and I like it. It's easy-to-use and has a low learning curve, recording & playback is also a well-implemented feature. I would recommend it to all test departments. It's compatible with almost any software under test and it helps finding software bugs at an early stage and in parts of the software I currently not focused on - that's worth gold.

We have multiple agile scrum and traditional QA teams doing test automation across our different products. Ranorex helps us greatly in both areas. I am with the QA team enhancing our regression test suites with Ranorex. Our team mostly uses Ranorex Actions (Recorder) and the scrum teams use the Ranorex API. The collaboration between teams works through libraries. Their support is great and help is provided immediately. First through email but they jump on screen-sharing sessions pretty soon. Overall great tool and definitely helps us with our QA efforts.

I used Ranorex in my previous company and I think it made a good job. Especially the spy tool is super handy and can assist in so many situations (prevented me from going crazy).
Pro: can be integrated in CI/build environments and whole tool stack easily, robust recognition, affordable.
Con: does not really support other testing types like DB, performance tests or so. Needed some hard work to make it happen :-)

I like Ranorex very much because it's a simple testing software for beginners and also powerful for experts. You can record your daily tests and execute them on different devices and environments. I would highly recommend!

I work in a field where a lot of system maintenance is going on, so I searched for tools which would help me check the daily routine on my PC. Google led me to Ranorex, so I wanted to try it out right away.
Downloaded the most recent version of the software and I must say, even though I don't have any knowledge about Test Automation in general, it IS pretty easy to create test cases with this tool.
The GUI of Ranorex is very intuitive. The main functions are easily accessible. For first time users like me, it is highly recommended to check the User Guide on the Company website: the documentation is kept very clean and the explanations are easy to understand. Alternatively, you can also watch the "Automated Desktop and Web App Testing Webinar", which covers all the basic functions of the software (1 hour is pretty long though).
All in all, since Ranorex 7.1 is easy to use, setting up simple test cases are done in a jiffy. For beginners like me, this tool rocks! Using it in my daily routine now.
I have seen that this company also promotes another tool called "Ranorex Online". Might be interesting for web designers, since it's easy website testing, but unfortunately no relevance for me.

I've been working with Ranorex for seven years now and I still would choose Ranorex over any other tool. In my career as test automation engineer I was facing a number of different challenges, but - thanks to the great support team - there is always a way how to solve any problem with Ranorex, either by RanoreXPath adaptions or by writing user code. Even if you're not into code, you should be able to represent 95% of test workflows possible, using the excellent toolset provided by Ranorex. So, I totally recommend Ranorex to anyone located in quality assurance. Regardless of your experience and skills - there will always be a combination of Ranorex tools which specially meets your requirements.

In Software Development you soon hit the point where you can't click through every feature manually when releasing a new version of your product. We also had this problem, that's why we decided to use Ranorex to perform these recurring tests for us. A big plus is the fact that we can record our test cases and then replay them on our CI environment. The people recording the tests were former testers and are now integrated in scrum teams. They have no programming skills, that's why the recording function works so well for us.
