My experience was overall bad. I have placed two orders with them. The first one gave me a 10% new customer coupon. However the dress didn't fit so I had to return it. I asked for a redo with the coupon since I still wanted to purchase from them and they simply said no. Fine, their dresses are cute so I ordered anyway. Their website states "Free returns and exchanges" but this is not true. They still charge you for shipping which is deducted from your reimbursement.
So now my second order. I ordered two dresses because I didn't know which one was going to fit since they're sizing doesn't seem to be consistent. I pick one dress and go to ask for a return on the second dress. This is when I find out about their 7-day return policy. I was on the 9th day when I first tried to do a return. Both dresses are in original condition; on their hangers, inside their bags, with the tags on. I understand it is my fault for not knowing about their extremely short return period. Most places offer 30 days. Since COVID, even longer. Not Promgirl. I explain the whole situation. My event date isn't even here yet, which I put into their pre-order questionnaire about why you're buying the dress. There is no way to get in touch with them over the phone. Their only number sends you to a voicemail. Via email, they refer me to their policy guidelines. Which I had already explained I read after not being able to start a return on their website. I acknowledge I read it too little too late and ask to speak to a supervisor. They tell me they won't make any exceptions and so I ask for a supervisor again. Apparently, they don't have any. Still waiting for a response.
Again, I understand it's my fault for not reading their return policy but it was an honest mistake. I was two days over and they have no sense of compassion. They only seem to care to get their money. They truly have beautiful dresses but for their lack of customer service alone, I would look elsewhere. Plenty of beautiful dresses through other vendors with excellent customer service.

Very disappointed with PromGirl's service. I bought a dress for my prom back in May 2020, however due to COVID it was canceled. I was issued a store credit that was available to use up until 2025. When I tried to use it I found out that PromGirl was under a new LLC and I could not get my credit or money back. I did not receive ANY information on this and was ROBBED of my money. Not to mention the horrible customer service and limited selection of dresses. Thanks PromGirl for scamming me out of $230 (plus another $30 for the order 3 dresses and keep one deal) and making my Prom dress shopping even more difficult!

Bought a dress a year ago but couldn't wear it because my prom got canceled due to corona. I tried to get my money back but wasn't unable to because it was a final sale and i didn't realize that so they gave me store credit instead. Tried using my store credit this year and I couldn't use it anymore since a new company has taken over. It was $370 worth. So they took my money and i get nothing in return. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE ANYMORE AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO SHOP HERE.

I have contacted them on Facebook, Instagram, emailed, and called them about my dress exchange, and they still haven't responded. They are ignoring me and not helping me with my dress.

I made a return and received a full store credit for a dress that I bought. When I tried to use the credit I was informed that prom girl file bankruptcy and a new company took it over. They are not honoring any store credit.

I ordered a dress from this website almost a year ago. It did not fit and I returned it with the tag still on in the original packaging and received a store credit. I have attempted to use my store credit on numerous occasions with the results always being the same. I am told always that the code is invalid and can not be applied to my bag. I have called customer service multiple times and had a miserable experience with the result being that I am still unable to use my store credit after spending hours filling up my shopping cart. At this point I am fed up and just want my money back since this store credit is clearly unusable on any items on there site. I am not interested in donating 42.95 to Promgirl and would n ever shop here again due to a total lack of customer service and worthless store credits. I will continue calling and attempting to get my money back until something is done about this, and I am made whole, but I will NEVER EVER purchase anything else from this site due to the absolutely miserable experience I have been having for almost a year now.

This is my first purchase Folsom the company and they're asking for bank statements, cardholders address and other personal and uncalled for information. I've paid my money so send my daughters dress. Period. Do not shop here because it's something going on! Something like fraudulent activity. I'm calling the bbb better business bureau as I'm writing this review.

We ordered a dress for my daughter for hoco and the dress is cut funny and lays weird in the chest and back area and the lower back/ bottom of the dress is crinkled and lays funny. I asked for a exchange for the dress not fitting properly and was denied cause it was a final sale. The dress itself fit but how it was cut caused it to not lay nicely in some areas. They asked me to send photos, which I did then they told me some dresses need alterations and then they told me there is nothing wrong with it. I advised I would be filing a BBB complaint and writing a bad review. They didn't seem to care so that's just what I'm doing. Hoping the BBB can get my money back. Very disappointing. Never again. Final sale or not there is always exceptions.

Horrible quality, overpriced, save your money and time everyone. For the price I paid and shipping to Australia, my dress ripped during the first time wearing it.

Bought a dress for daughter with full intention that she was going to prom based on the schools recommendation. On May 19th, we are told that prom is cancelled. I paid almost $400 for a dress that my daughter will NEVER wear! I understood the 7 day refund policy but like i stated, there was not an intention of not going. Promgirl does not care about this at all and is not willing to return me my money, even during this financial crisis. I will NEVER shop or recommend anyone to shop with your stores again due to your lack of compassion during this horrible time where our seniors have already lost so much.

I am very disappointed with Prom Girl and the lack of leniency they have shown during these difficult times! We ordered two dresses in March that we needed for a wedding next month (June). We get told this month that the wedding has now been cancelled so I email CS to see if there is any way we can return the dresses for store credit as they have been sitting in the closet untouched and unworn. I explained how we didn't see the wedding cancellation coming from back in March or April and if there was any mercy on their part with their return policy during these difficult times. They were not helpful at all with our situation even though they said they would do their best to help during these difficult times. We paid over $500 and now that money is going to waste! I was told dresses bought in February or March were too far out to return but this was right before Coronavirus got bad and we were unaware of what was to come. Extremely disappointed and will not be buying dresses from them anymore with these absurd return policies.

My daughter's senior prom was cancelled and her dress was unworn, with the tags on. After being unable to reach anyone by phone (offices are closed), I wrote an email asking for a refund due to the dire circumstances that caused the prom cancellation. I received an email back 5 days later that stated since the 7 day window of return had passed, I could no longer return the dress. Seven days after receipt, the prom was still on!
I had a few other dresses from another prom dress company that had the same return policy and that company quickly and very professionally handled the return. I have written the FDC about Promgirls' business practices. I hope no one orders dresses from this company!

This company is so behind the times, they aren't cool, they have terrible quality in dresses, and they will definitely take your money and run, every last penny.

COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED, NOT ACCEPTABLE! no refund will be issued for prom dress that is new, not worn, and still in the same bag it was delivered in. We are in a global pandemic and all activities are cancelled MOST PROMS WILL BE CANCELLED (ours is) for the health and safety of all people in our communities. Who would have known an unprecedented pandemic would have taken over the globe my daughter and I surely did not. Prom Girl should be ashamed for no refund will be issued for a dress purchased in February (who would have predicted this global crisis). My daughter cannot believe there will be no refund for a dress she worked to purchase. Prom Girl should be ashamed for being so heartless in a time when every single person in the USA is affected by the pandemic. COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED.

I wish they had zero stars. I ordered 3 dresses, two were the same just different sizes and a third one just to buy since it was on sale. Apparently there's only a 3 day window to click the return button???? What kind of return policy is that. I ordered while out of town so I didn't even open the box till day 5!! I checked the return policy and it said free shipping and returns. Thought I was good to go...emailed them and got a response saying their offices are closed due to corona(whIch I understand) but their return policy is crazy!!! 3days?!?! Im keeping a dress, not trying to return everything. If they don't return my money I guess they won't be getting business from me anymore, which is ashame because they have really nice affordable dresses but I'd rather shop elsewhere Incase I can't try on the second I receive it.

I just recieved my daughters prom dress. Delivery was fast but shipping was $70 . The dress was $299 but because of exchange (I live in Canada) it ended up costing $534. The dress sizing was way off..ordered a medium and it fit like a xs. We followd all size guides and suggestions. When taking a look over it I found a rip. Now to return it for refund o have to pay shipping AGAIN. Otherwise the dress is very heavy and gorgeous

If you have any doubt about the dress do not purchase from this site! They use very shady tactics in their return policy... it is not laid out until you actually go online to get a return # and find out you have 3 days and for store credit only.

I will NEVER order another dress from this company.. Lady on the phone was so rude and their return policy is absolutely horrible! 10 business days to inspect a dress for store credit? Meanwhile I am just trying to use my credit and purchase another dress!! This is the 7th dress I have ordered in the past week from them! Crazy how they treat their customers! NEVER AGAIN

I was in need of a dress for a wedding in February. I saw the reviews, well the reviews they want you to see and thought I would give it a whirl. I was unsure of my size so I carefully measured myself, twice in fact, to make sure I ordered the proper size. They advertised all over their site, "free shipping, free returns, free alterations" I made sure the dress was not a "final sale" dress and I placed my order. The dress arrived quite quickly and I was excited to try it on. Get it home, try it and on and it was very small and unflattering. No biggie...I'll return it. Put it back in the bag and looked at the "Easy Returns & Exchanges" "see the attached picture" and then went off to visit my family for Christmas. Came back on the 3rd of Jan and visited the promgirl.com/returns and I find out that returns are only accepted "within 7 days of receipt of item". Well I don't rmember seeing that, I know if I didn't return it in 3 days I would miss out on the "free returns have to pay $10. I also know that they only offer "free alterations" on items over $150 and my dress was conveniently $149 I also remember seeing that "Sale and Special Order items" are returned for store credit only and final sale items "cannot be returned or exchanged". So I called and they were closed so I sent a very nice email explaining the situation apologizing for any misunderstanding and got back a curt email from CS, I can tell they get this confusion a lot, telling me so sorry but you missed the deadline. So I called talked to some snotty 12 year old (or so she sounded) told me that they will allow me a "1 time offer" to get a store credit if I take a bunch of pictures and fill out a form and wait for another 12 year old to review. Ya, I will just take the $150 hit and get the word out to others on this companies practices. I will say the dress was nice quality but the measurements were not just a little off but WAY off. So you have been warned do NOT do business with this company.

The dresses were not true to size. They were too small. You only have 3 days to return for full refund. I could not get a refund since I did not call with in three days. Who has such a crazy return policy. NEVER order from them again. Stuck with two expensive dresses that cannot be worn.

We ordered a dress that we loved but it had some quality issues when it showed up. While it was listed as a "final sale" item, the customer service team worked with us, understood we didn't have time to wait on another replacement dress for our event --- and refunded us the full price of the dress. That's all you can ask for! Will shop again here.
