Olsen Logistics in Hong Kong Project Manager
Received email from Molly Roy saying upon review of my resume, I was approved and selected to join Olsen Logistics in NYC. Said the company was Hong Kong HQ'ed and expanding to US. Web appears legit, except for grammar errors. Stage 1 training was 4 weeks online training which I was to be compensated $2000 to $4000 based upon performance. Stage 2 was 1 week training, all expenses paid in NYC. Upon expressing interest, Molly sent an assessment test/questionnaire and 1099 contract for training compensation. Mentioned that NYC office is scheduled to be built in March, 2016. I did call the contact number she used, which matched the website and it appeared legit. Address for NYC office where she works is a Virtual Service company in Manhattan. Upon submission of questionnaire and signed agreement, Ms. Roy then asked for 1 reference contact for Hong Kong HQ to contact as a recommendation, as well as for me to verify address for paycheck purposes. I then received a "You're Approved" email stating I would begin Stage 1 training 1/4/16. An executed agreement was attached with an Andrew Brien, from the Hong Kong office having signed. Noticed at this time,Hong Kong phone number, last 4 digits same as NYC virtual office. Then received an email from Scott Nelson, Special Assistant, HR explaining training and important it was for me to verify address, now for the 3rd time. However, while the email address was for [email protected], the descriptor was for Stanley C. Natale - Pacific Way Logistics (USA) Co., LLD. A quick search on Pacific Way and Natale, and the scam was uncovered.
Thank you for the heads up with Olsen Logistics and the scam they are included with. I have gotten the email and have just finished my first week of the so called training. My suspicions started when I was suppose to get a phone interview from Hong Kong, which I did, but the call dropped when I pick up the phone. When I tried to call the NY phone number, I got a mechanical type answering machine stating all managers were busy, leave a message and someone will call you back, which of course never came. Another clue I noticed was getting a call from Hong Kong between 12 and 1 pm when at that time it was 2am. I plan on not saying anything to them and see where this go to. Maybe contact the authorities and see if they want to set a trap to close them and make some arrest. But all in all I plan to have fun with them and see how long I can string them along and have the last laugh. Thanks again for posting their true intentions.
