I originally chose NordVPN as it seemed popular and I assumed it would be reliable. I have a direct debit set up to renew my subscription every month. Every time my subscription renews there is a gap in service. For example this month my subscription ran out on the 12th but my direct debit will not be collected until the 16th. Not a major issue but the whole point of setting up a direct debit is to have a continuous service. When contacting the customer service team (who are generally helpful) the only solution I have been given is to send a copy of a bank statement, no thanks. Not impressed.

This site is totally safe and I have never seen such absolute rubbish written by people on here about Nordvpn. They are talking out of their backsides. For goodness sake get a grip!

If you are looking to purchase a package get the 3 year plan.

After using Nord VPN for 4 months now I can say that it is a good service although sometimes the speeds can be very slow on some servers, dipping to less than 20 mbps down speed on my 200 package. On average I would say that I get about 30% of my original speed though.
I'm writing this review today due to my experience with Nord's customer service via live chat. The application on my PC stopped working for some reason and no matter what I did, I couldn't restore it to its functional state. I was given multiple solutions to try and even asked to send in my event history for them to peruse. Thanks to the agent, who really did go above and beyond their remit in my opinion, everything is back to normal. (Thank you, Aurora.)

Had NordVPN for a while great app and service, used it for a while but found a better and cheaper alternative so decided to cancel my subscription via the NordVPN website. It is not clear however that this does not cancel your subscription to Mac App store payments as well. NordVPN had been taking payments from me 3 months after cancelling my subscription on their website via the app store. When speaking to one of their "agents" on live chat (Branden) they couldn't care less, send you a link to an outdated third party site of a way you "might" be able to get a refund but don't. Shocking how a basic function other leading VPN companies can exercise apart from NordVPN. Avoid them and download Hide My A** VPN, might better UI and faster than NordVPN.

VPN works a treat unlike other's that I have tried before. They also have a great chat system which is far superior than any other I have seen before. They have been very helpful and extremely quick resolutions. Effortless.

My connection randomly drops for a few seconds. Super annoying when it comes to gaming. If you're a gamer, do NOT buy this VPN.

Very poor customer service. No way to contact via phone. Chat system people cannot address all issues. My email (charter.net) refuses all connections when VPN is running, and Nord can't seem to fix. No easy way to request a refund.

Seeing the offer of £2.99 a month decided to give it a go, what followed was unbelievable, following instructions downloaded, and immediately after trying to open my emails, or anything, it became impossible, I repeated the instructions, but the result was the same, knowing they guarantee a 30 day money back, immediately requested a refund, that was five days ago, all I get is emails telling me how to download despite explaining the situation, maybe it works in some countries, but it certainly doesn't work here in the UK.

Today my current VPN provider subscription expired, and they wanted their usual £80 for another annual term. I had been quite satisfied with their service, but I did get drop outs from time to time; sometimes frequently, other times not so, which did get frustrating at times. I was looking at alternative VPN providers and found NordVPN. Two things attracted me straight away to them: their special deal of 3 years subscription term for just a few £s more than my current provider's one year term. The second thing was the many favourable reviews I saw on the internet. I note that there are a lot of unfavourable reviews here, which I must admit I am puzzled at, as other reviewers have also stated. I say I am puzzled at this as, so far, my initial experience has been very positive with NordVPN, albeit I have only been with them since today.
I have noticed a huge drop in download speed when I am connected to their servers, whether it's a domestic server, or a foreign one. My download speed without VPN is about 47Mbps, with the NordVPN activated it's down to 21Mbps. However, I am satisfied with this. I rarely download huge files where a 21Mbps connection would not be quick enough, and should I need, on a rare occasion, to download a massive file very quickly, I can always temporarily disconnect the VPN. I am not paranoid about my internet privacy or security as some may be, but I do like to have some privacy. My PS4/XB download speeds are up to 50Mbps, and that's where I need the speed most, and, as they cannot route through my NordVPN subscription, I am happy with the speeds I get when connected on my MacBook.
I also like the control I have over the kill switch. With my previous provider they had one generic kill switch that would kill the internet connection to my computer itself if the VPN connection dropped. With NordVPN I have a lot more control over what is killed if the VPN connection drops. I can select it to monitor various apps, including my browser.
Once I installed the NordVPN app onto my MacBook Air, it was a very simple procedure to get it up and running.
I did have one problem: once the VPN was connected, I could not send/receive emails via Outlook, and neither could I sync with my OneDrive account. So I used the live chat support service that NordVPN provide, and was connected in less than 2 minutes, to a support agent named Jessie. I told him of my problem, and within a couple of minutes he'd showed me how to rectify it, and now I can send/receive emails and sync with OneDrive. I was very impressed with the support service.
So far I am impressed with the service NordVPN provide. Yes, there is a marked decrease in download speeds when connected. I did experience slower speeds with my previous VPN provider, though perhaps not such a decrease in speed as I see with NordVPN, but it's not like it drops to snail like speeds; it's still plenty fast enough for my needs, so it's not big deal.
Another thing I like is that I have a 30-day money back guarantee.
I am currently connected to NordVPN's servers on my MacBook Air, iPad and BlackBerry (Android) phone.
So, five stars to NordVPN, and my recommendation for them to anybody reading this.

Never work, never solve any issues, keep asking you to try without any results.
Never refund because of their terms of service.
I think I can respect their terms of service when they are fully and constantly available. Obviously, they DON'T.

Read the reviews, installed NordVPN on a 3 yr subscription, reasonable price. It really screwed up my desktop. Firefox links would not work, Quicken crashed, NitroPro crashed, RevoUninstaller broken and several other programs broken. Tried to correct, too many things. Restored from a backup. Now everything works. Called NordVPN customer support. Offered to troubleshoot, but I had already uninstalled NordVPN and tried to correct the many issues this software caused. If you try it, please backup your boot and program files and create a restore point if in Windows. You will likely need the backups. Thanks OS Win 7 64 Bit, ASUS MB, SSD boot drive.

Just cancelled my three year subscription 15 days in to the 30 day cancellation period. I also signed up for a dedicated ip address and whist the download speeds were impressive at first they degraded over the short time I used it. Upload speeds are awesome and frequently outstripped the downloads which is weird. Most websites recognised I was on a VPN despite the dedicated ip address rendering it pointless. Most irritating of all, the prices on their website are quoted in £s excluding VAT but they bill in $USD plus VAT so you are hit with a poor exchange rate, a foreign currency exchange fee and VAT. Add 25% to cover the extras.

I was looking for a VPN service that could handle Netflix on a computer and therefore wanted to try out NordVPN. They had a 7-day trial I could sign up for and when I did that, it signed me up for a whole year. I immediately wrote them an e-mail telling them this, where I got the following response: "Unfortunately, it seems that there was no trial set up for your account, therefore, you were charged for the standard 1-year subscription plan. We apologize for the inconveniences.
You can still try out our application risk-free for 30-days and then ask a refund if the provided services are not to your liking."
I then immediately ask for a refund, but that Isn't possible because of some Terms Of Service.
WHAT A BAD COMPANY THAT MISLED YOU TO THINK YOU SIGNING UP FOR A FREE 7-DAY TRIAL BUT THEN CHARGED YOU FOR A WHOLE YEAR, AND FYI THEY DON'T WORK WITH NETFLIX ON A COMPUTER, ONLY ON THE PHONE!
NordVPN is telling me to ask for a refund with iTunes, but regardless of what I write in the box where I'm asking for a refund, I get the same message back.
"We've determined that your purchase does not meet the conditions for a refund."

Garbage speeds. My 100mbps connection throttled to 2mbps on their RECOMMENDED server, which I assume is the fastest available server.
So yeah, total waste of money and time. Everytime I log in I have to find the best server, load a new profile into my router for that server so I can connect to it and even then I'm looking at usually a 70% or more decrease in my throughput. So it's basically impractical to stay connected to the VPN unless you love 28kbps modem speeds.

Nordvpn is consistently highly rated by reviewers, you can check this for yourself with a quick google search. The negative reviews here are highly suspicious and should not be taken seriously.
I have found Nordvpn's service to be very good. High speeds, low ping, zero connection problems, competitive pricing, a no logs policy, a decent app for my android phone. No complaints whatsoever.
Do like I did, pay for one month to see what the service is like. I would be surprised if you did not go on to buy a subscription.

-Update since my initial review
You guys responded to my inital review stating that I would be charged again, yet you guys attempted to charge my card again. I reached back out today and all your rep could provide me with for confirmation was the same chat transcript i've received twice before. No proof, just your word claiming I would not be charged.
Anyone who is thinking about signing up with them, please avoid them like the plague. They can't seem to fix their system errors or guarantee anything regardless of what they're claiming.
I recently cancelled my nordvpn subscription because I no longer needed it. I found an alternative that works better for me. After cancelling the subscription, they continued to attempt to charge my card for tje subscription fee. I contacted them through live chat twice since nothing had changed after the first attempt to contact them. The first time i reached out to them,i live chatted with Mark and the second time it was with carol. The first time, mark told me he had cancelled the recurring payments on his end and assured me i would no longer be seeing any charges and they emailed me a chat transcript as confirmation. That was 2 days ago and i noticed there was another charge attempt today. When i reached out and talked to carol, she told me the services were cancelled but there was an error on their end. On both occassions i also requested that my card information be removed from their system since their site does not allow me to do this on my end. Yet, i am still getting charge attempts. I would recommend avoiding nordvpn especially if you don't want to deal with unwanted charges.

This product is just terrible. I bought a 3 year subscription and it is unuseable, literally. I have now removed it from all my devices.
NordVPN on and internet speeds crash by 95%.
NordVPN off and speed returns.
I have been wrestling with this digital diarrhea for months.

I have had NordVPN for about a year but not really used it, now I am based in Vietnam and because of restrictions on internet I really needed to use it. Unfortunately It doesn’t work, I spent 20 minutes going through different connections on several occasions and still not a steady connection.i talked with customer services and went through all the same details only to be told that they could not guarantee a connection and if I did get one I might have to find a different one if I changed my channel I was viewing!!!, not what you want to be doing.
I tried ExpressVPN and to my surprise I got a connection straight away with no buffering issues and I could browse through my channels on iptv without a problem, so why is it if Express VPN can do it Nord Vpn cannot?.
By the way Nord vpn will not give you a refund after 30 days even if you have a 2 year subscription and you cannot use their services!!!

seriously i was using nordvpn today - united kingdom server no 1195 on my macbook i guess the server belonged to hydra communications and there was a dns leak like a actual dns leak. I had a live chat with nordvpn and sent them screenshot of the same. They told me to go to come dns leak and ip check site and still there was dns leak. I mean even after sending screenshot they took it causally. I mean it can be security breach for some if you dns is leaking. Why are we using nordvpn if your dns leaks. I mean now i am so paranoid every 2 minutes i am checking for my dns leak. So i want to know wat steps you will take to make sure this never happens again or how can you assure me that my security isn’t breached in future.

I signed up for three years and tried for a week. While the software and service worked as advertised I realised I would not be using it enough to justify the cost and I fired up a chat. Two minutes later my subscribtion was cancelled and two days later my money was back on my account. Their 30 days money back guarantee is working 100% as advertised.
