I payed for a monthly service and was getting help with my site. I noticed that they charged me for the year. I quickly spoke to someone about it who told me that I wasn't charged yet. The person wasn't able to help me so I stopped using it.
I noticed that they did charge me when I read my bank statement. Tried to get a refund but the lady just get trying to bargain with me rather than getting me my refund-insisting that I signed up for the year. That's basically $300 I spend on actually not getting any service from them.
If anyone wants a platform that can get you a social network created, try wix training academy.

This company is stealing money.
I signed up for the free trial 4 years ago. Never used the product or service. Last year I realized they were charging my account, I called and asked them to cancel it. They said they would.
This year I get a charge to my credit card. I called and asked for a refund. They said they can't give me a refund. But they would cancel my account. I check, and my account is still not canceled.
Don't sign up for this service.

Signed up for Ning 14 day trial. About a week into playing with the script I didnt feel it was the best platform for my domain. I called to cancel and the lady who was assisting me gave me a hassle with the cancellation. She kept telling me that my reason was not good enough. She went on with telling me how she understands I want to cancel but she needed more specifics and my explanation didn't suffice. I felt haggled and should have never been on the phone for 15 minutes begging for my trial to be cancelled. They lost my trust in doing business with them. I understand trying to keep a customer but you should know where to draw the line and say thank you.

We've been using Ning for almost 10 years and its served a useful purpose for our non-profit membership of walkers. Over the last few years we realized that acceptable website design had changed so we looked for alternatives. Up until recently, ning looked stale and thought it might be abandoned.
I'm happy to say that we decided to stay and upgrade with Ning 3.0 as the organization and the product was righted again and is now a first rate solution to developing your own social network. The administration feature is easy to work with and the options for tracking and earning income has been enhanced.
More importantly, for many current Ning users, their support has been superb led by Dimitry Markov. Dimitry has been very responsive to all questions and knows the product and the limits of all features. With conference calls, emails and web conferencing he led us to a successful conversion.
I believe the product has great potential and I'm optimistic that if they can take advantage of integrations with other products we will stay with Ning for a long time and create an even better social network at FreeWalkers.org.
Thanks Dimitry and Ning!

Ning was fantastic in 2007. Over the past few years the site support has deteriorated so much. Problems never get fixed and when they do the fix can sometimes make things worse.
It's such a shame to see such a good resource being left to wither on the vine - and meantime we're still expected to keep paying.

Some years ago, I was forced by my workplace who were hastily adopting online education to find an online platform that would facilitate discussion. Ning was recommended to me by a colleague, but because universities are so bureaucratic, I couldn't get my faculty to subscribe in time for me to prepare the course, so I had to put it on my personal credit card. I got reimbursement for that, but of course it was an annual auto-renewing subscription.
The online course didn't work and we reverted to face-to-face and stopped using Ning after a few weeks. The renewal came up in January when my credit card is pretty full and it was four years before I noticed I was still being charged.
OK this was my error, but during that time, not ONCE did I get a reminder from Ning that the renewal was about to be processed.
When I did notice, I wrote to Ning explaining the situation and asking if they would refund me, given that I hadn't used the platform during that time. They refused outright, saying that I had agreed to the terms.
I responded that:
a) it hadn't cost them anything to support my 'membership' because I hadn't used the platform
b) that they had continued to charge me at the rate I signed up at even though their fee for that level of subscription had halved
c) they would be able to verify very easily that I had not used the platform, so they didn't need to take my word for it.
Eventually about six months later, I got an automatic email asking if my enquiry had been resolved and if they could close it from their system. I said no, and to be brief, they finally agreed to refund me one year's subscription.
I ended up $750 AUD out of pocket.
I believe this is exploitative behaviour and want to warn people against dealing with this company.

Absolutely the BEST customer service I've experienced. The network is perfect for our needs and was easy to setup and very user-friendly. As we encounter questions or need to make adjustments, our customer care agent, Dmitry is so responsive and helpful. We have tried other platforms and none even come close to the expert functionality, visual appeal and customer care of Ning. Taking into account the diversity of design aspects and functions, I highly recommend Ning for any organization. -Raven Sinclaire, Grand Preceptor, Order of the Temple of Solomon Foundation

Unauthorized charging of credit card for unknown 'ning.com'.
The company tried to have this review removed from Trustpilot but proof was provided that this review is genuine and accurate.
See the review below by Charles Knox-Vydmanov titled "Stole my money" as he also experienced the same problem with this company. And to find an additional large number of complaints about fraudulent charging, simply Google "ning interactive credit card". This shows many people also reporting fraudulent credit card charges.

Platform for giving any form for my ideas.
There's no need in php or even html skills for creating a sophisticated site with sexiest design:D
Completely fit my laziness and it comes at hand for every single sudden brainwave.

I've been using ning for a very long time already and can't count how much time it saved me up to now. There're few uncomfortable things in it but in comparison with its previous version they're totally irrelevant.

Rude, unprofessional, unacceptable experience. I was charged after the trial when I cancelled it the day I signed up because it wasn't what I was looking for. At the end of this trial I was charged and as soon as I saw it I talked with a live agent on the site. They said there was nothing stating that I cancelled and there would be no refund. I DID cancel it. I am still currently fighting with them on this. I also couldn't get any straight answer out of them about the company and when I asked to speak with a manager I was told they would email me. No one ever contacted me. This is a huge problem. Just within one conversation I was treated like a child, called a liar, and denied information on the company along with being lied too. This is not a good business and I suggest you stay away from them so this doesn't happen to you too.
They gave me a refund and asked me to remove this review. I stated that I would only update it. Once I finally got an email (after reaching out to a few different people) Jason from Ning emailed me. He was very professional and accommodating. He explained that they would give me my money back. He also wanted to negotiate a way to remove this review with credits to try their site again. I appreciated the attempt to make it right although I turned it down. This whole thing might of been a misunderstanding on both ends. If you are going to use this site just make sure to look into it and read all the fine print.

The recent private equity acquisition of NING is the best thing that has happened to it in the 9 years that I have been using the platform. It has begun to inject confidence into their creators. The integration with creators in the help forum and the live-online help are awesome and great beginnings.
But, because the the previous NING leadership was so negligent, they need to do more. I recently filed a ticket because my search function wasn't working and it took 2 weeks to get a resolution- that's not good enough.
They also need to address the following for 2.0 and 3.0, and do it quickly.
1. Better monetization of the mobile version. This is 40% of our traffic and I can't put any ads in front of these users.
2. Third-party creativity. They need to make the site easily modifiable so creators can implement 3rd party apps and tools.
3. Reliable emailing tools - Why should I need to get Constant Contact?
4. New Templates

I signed up to Ning a few years ago and subsequently cancelled my subscription, something I have in writing. However, for the next two years they proceeded to take payment from me without my knowledge. I wrote to them asking for them to refund the payment, but they have refused to do so. So they've effectively stole more than £300 from me.
This doesn't seem like a company you can trust to treat you fairly.

Last month I applied to this company, for creating a social network for my business. Pleasantly pleased me with polite and responsible staff, all explained and helped. They made me soc. network in about a month, which could not surprise me. And the cost of the service was not at all expensive. Thank you very much helped.

Ning is back! It is night and day since Ning was taken over by the new company. Tickets are answered and improvements are being made. They basically picked up where the the old Ning left off and are continuing forward. They are even answering questions in the forums again. A lot of people rely on the new Ning and I feel confident going forward with them.

I loved Ning when I created by education based, non-profit network. It was free then. I wanted to communicate science, educate people in the right way, free of charge as India is still a developing country and many people cannot afford the right education. Ning suited me the best. It was easy to operate and free of so many problems we face now. I was delighted to get associated with Ning for my endeavour.
But then after two years of my creating my network things started to become difficult. Ning started charging us. It was okay in the beginning as the dollar exchange rate was low. But now one US dollar is equal to nearly 65 Indian rupees and our burden is increasing day by day as dollar rate is increasing with regard to Indian rupee. I requested Ning to charge us in Indian rupees several months back , but it fell on deaf years.
And Ning networks have become problematic. We face several problems frequently like Errors (500), search problems, comment boxes disappearing all of a sudden, typed matter disappearing when we click on 'save' etc. etc.
Problem solving has become lengthy, slow. When we complain, sometimes we get irrelevant and repeated replies, using the same language. We have to endure all this!
Several members of my network stopped visiting us because of these problems. I stopped taking new members too.
But still I continue with my work despite having so many problems because of my determination to do good work.
A final request: Please don't make things more difficult for us. Please don't make us leave Ning in desperation.

We've suddenly started getting the 'Network Not Launched Yet' Message.
Could you have a look urgently?

Hope no ones hacking in!
This breakdown is so unfair - now that we're gearing up to call people to Ning again.
