Appalling service from a business running an extremely underhanded money grabbing operation. I called to downgrade my hosting from website hosting to simple email hosting as my site was barely running on their servers. I was told time after time that my website was the issue and not their hosting. The moment I transferred onto another web host, my site started running perfectly again.
After receiving confirmation from billing that I was only going to be charged pro-rata for 2 months for the email hosting and not web hosting that I chose to discontinue with, I received a letter from their lawyers demanding payment within 3 days or that they will take court action against me. I received this despite being reassured that I do not owe them anything other than the 2 months pro-rata.

The worst service and the most pathetic company.
It took 3 months for them to produce a sub standard website for me. I had to put up with this pathetic website for a year.
Upon cancelling it, before the auto renew date, they are still charging me.
When I cancelled (following directions on their site) I got an automated reply letting me know that someone would get back to me in 72 hours.
The reply that I got was that the "case" had been resolved and then they charged me again.
I now cannot speak to anyone that can "help" me. ABSOLUTLEY PATHETIC!! STAY AWAY!

I have been with Netregistry for several years now, but only due to the fact they took over my last registrar (CheapDomains UK) in 2007.
Functionality and support was good back then.
However in the last few years i have seen cracks in the woodwork.
lock and unlock feature does not work. you must raise a support ticket!!! WHY - because the control panel is broken and it would appear no one seems to be able to fix it.
Once you have Namedservers added, you cannot change them, as when you do change them, and submit, they revert back to the original NS names!
Receiving support ticket emails for call I never even raised!!!!
I decided to move domains (2) to a new registrar. I have had to raise 2 tickets to get the domains unlocked, even though this should be a simple task for ME to do on my own.
One of the domains has now been moved, but the other is still waiting to be approved. numerous support ticket posts seem to fall on deaf ears, they say it is unlocked yet I my new registrar requested the transfer 5 days ago. how long really does it take, when the first was done within half a day.
The last issue is the billing process they use. I had several domains I used to renew all at the same time. I can understand itemising the invoice, but when you bill someone for numerous items, you first add this up (called a total - for netregistry to understand) but instead of billing the customer a sum of the total, they bill individual items, and process this within a split second. This then flags up as a hack attempt on my CC/Debt Card and my bank locks my card without informing me. when I go to use the card the next time, well you guessed it.
I have never in decades ever had my card locked by a bank because of a transaction, except for netregistry's transactions on numerous occaassions. I do not know why they are the only company in the world I know of that itemise a bill and process individual items like they do, but I'm done with them.
They wont listen and for this reason, I am leaving this service.
Personally I would stay away from this registrar, their service has been run into the round by the looks of it and the control panel has not had any change in over 10 years.

Deceitful and fraudulent behaviour, shady cancellation policies, dodgy auto-renewals and absolutely zero care for their customers.
Netregistry insist on charging my credit card for domain privacy for domains that I no longer own.
I've been a customer for 6+ years. After a week of trying to resolve what should have been a very simple thing to fix, I'm now instead cancelling all my business with Netregistry as quickly as humanly possible and warning others to stay WELL away!
If you take a minute to Google around, you'll quickly find many hundreds of other angry customers complaining about Netregistry's dodgy cancellation and auto-renewal practices. Trust me, it is no coincidence that Netregistry have such an overwhelmingly large amount of 1-star ratings on various independent review sites, such as productreview.com.au, trustpilot.com, hostadvice.com and many others.
In short, whilst you can let a domain name expire without any issues, Netregistry have (very conveniently) decided to have a completely different cancellation policy for add-on services, such as domain privacy. It's right there - hidden within 70+ pages of fine print, well beyond the reach of both logic, morals and common sense.
Netregistry will happily continue to charge you - despite not actually providing a service. When asked why I should be paying them for domain privacy for domains that I no longer own, there is no response other than pointing to their T&Cs.
So unless your life is just going TOO smoothly and you're feeling desperate to add in some more frustration, bulls#it, complacency and deceitful business practices to spice things up a bit, I recommend you AVOID Netregistry!

I have been with Net Registry for four years and always been satisfied with all aspects. You do need to take a moment to check your personal account settings, like whether your domains are locked or not, and if you have selected auto-renew to be off or on, but that's only common sense to take care of yourself.
Now I've decided to transfer my two domains elsewhere (just felt it was a good time to change and refresh). I had a problem with one of the necessary transfer codes they supplied. Although I was leaving them, the Net Registry customer service was excellent; quick, helpful and professional (just like any other time) and the problem was successfully resolved.
If you do decide to go with Net Registry (or any other registrar, to be fair) just make sure you know what to check on your account, look at any settings you've got enabled, and ask for help if you're not sure. Their good and prompt customer service will help you out.

Got billed for a domain name that I cancelled last year. got an "advice" email at 2:40 am and then an invoice at 8 am last Friday. looks to me that these guys are just trying to scam me. when I called about it, the call centre person claimed there was nothing she could do about it. After I insisted I was not paying for this, eventually go to speak to a supervisor who said they'd look into it. 4 days later, still waiting to hear the outcome.

Worst company in the world. Customer service experience is 0. No help at all. Literally got hung up on 6-8 times as a customer from 2002. Supported this company for years and they treat their customers like dog crap by taking money out of credit cards without my permission and then refusing refund making my day hard, playing games with me on the phone. Tragic and disgraceful

I wish you could give 0 stars. We have been without emails for over 24 hours have spoken to 7 people within the customer service and technical department who just transfer between teams and avoid taking responsibility or taking action. Instead your call goes back and forward and you have to start from the beginning. We have also been hung up on accidentally 4 times.
We were told they accidently cancelled our account, that there has been complete in action from the team as they forgot to do the work as promised, that we were being transferred to a supervisor and put on hold for 30 minutes to be advised a supervisor couldn't be found... the excuses and poorly service continues.
As I type this we still have our emails down and our business has been largely impacted not risk going with this company for any service!

I was with Aussie HQ before it became Netregistry (much to my dismay). I was super happy with Aussie. Prices and service was great.
Anyway, fast forward to the end of my hosting contract and I get a receipt email after being charged another 12 months (my preferences was on auto-renew apparently). There was no warning email in the leadup to the renewal happening. You would think there would be, something as simple as "you are about to be charged - log in and change your preferences if you don't want this to happen" would be nice.
But no, just charged with no warning, for a service I no longer want due to the significant price increase.
So I log in the same day as being charged, and cancel all services. Then contact support explaining I don't want another 12 months.
Their claim is that it's like that so customers avoid downtime and disruption, but obviously I didn't not fall into that category.
The best they would do was a 50% refund, despite my objections.
If I wasn't so lazy, I'd contact an authority and report them. But, I think word of mouth will hurt them more so I'm writing this review to warn others of this unethical company.
Use their hosting if you must, but make sure you are on top of your renewal date and don't have auto-renew enabled. They are not flexible at all and will do a cash-grab whenever they can.
I recommend looking elsewhere based on principle alone.

Ever since AussieHQ transferred their customer base to Netregistry I've had issues. Failed domain transfers, an inability to talk to someone who can actually make a difference, the whole experience was simply Bad. But when you are there, transferring out isn't an exciting proposition. Just registered a new .co.nz domain and subsequently found out I have to pay $15.95/yr (per domain) to activate domain manager so I can forward the domain. Wasn't told that 'managing the domain' would be a separate cost. Starting to look for another provider.

I used the search form at the Netregistry website to learn whether or not five particular domains were available. They showed up as purchasable, but with a term I was unfamiliar with, in tiny letters, below them. That term was 'backorder,' which is generally held to mean ordering a product that is out of stock, to be fulfilled when new stock arrives. I bought the five domain names.
I then noticed that the word ‘backorder’ was actually a link leading to net registry’s definition of the term, which is: “Domain backorder is a service that will automatically monitor the availability of a domain name on a regular basis, and if it becomes available, it will submit a registration request on your behalf. It is useful for customers who wish to monitor the status of a domain, but who lack the time or resources to manage this process themselves.”
I had not bought five domain names after all but had merely hired a service to watch for when/if they became available. I canceled my order immediately and requested a refund. They refused to issue one, telling me that "Domain backorder fees are not refundable at any time, including should we not be able to register your backorder requested domain name if and as it becomes available for registration/" and “You can terminate the agreement at any time, on the basis that prepaid service fees are non-refundable."
I believe their website is confusing, if not deceptive, and I believe it is unfair to be forced to pay for a year of service I will not receive. Zero stars for Netregistry for their dodgy business practices.

Super disappointed. After registering a new domain with Net Registry i received a large number of spam to my personal email as well as calls 24/7 to my personal phone number. I rejected the offer to purchase the ID Protection when registering my domain name that they tried to up sell for an added cost. This all happened within 24 hours. I later went to VentraIP to look at their pricing and saw that they provided ID Protection free of charge with all domain registrations. Wish I spent 10 more minutes researching...

Charge for cancelled service and when you complain they threaten you with debt collectors and fees. This company has outsourced its help desk overseas and the service level is horrible. Do not engage this organisation.

I was with netregistry from last 2 years and always have a problem that if more than 70 people come at the sametime on the web it goes out of resources. Very strange as i was having the higher plan of shared hosting. Whenever talk to support they mentioned your website is build in wordpress and memory leaking happaned. I uninstall most plugin but still same problem. The time to open the page takes more than 10 seconds. I ask them please help me provide some reports etc where memory is leaking. Always says talk to your developer. Very very very very very ... bad service.
You will be serprised what they suggest me to resolve the issue buy a dedicated hosting.
Luckly one of my friend advised me siteground hosting and now i am paying half of the amount and fast speed and no limited resourse issue.
Now i realise how netregistry was cheating with me by saying it is your website problem.
I am strongly recomending everyone do no go with netregistry.

I had three domain names with Net Registry. Its service was terrible, I had major unresolved problems with spam, it lost the contact details attached to my domain address but was some how still able to bill me, its automated systems did not work properly and it cost me a lot of money and time to get free of its clutches.
Now I am still getting demands for payments and "offers of negotiated settlement”
I have now transferred to SiteGround who seem really good.
So would I recommend Net Registrly? - NO. Do I think that NR has a good, client centred, fair and honourable business model? - NO. Do I think NR is in it for the money? - YES
These guys are bad news don't even go near them. If you do a search on any of the writers of positive reviews they usually appear to be from dead facebook accounts or similar. It looks very suspiciously like NR have a tribe of positive review writers on the payroll.

Literally the most unreliable, pathetic service I have ever been associated with. Their support team take weekends and long weekends off, and their service goes down ALL THE TIME - with no one there with even an inkling of how to fix it.
We are a charity business who's business is being affected continually from these incompetent twits and I have NEVER left a scathing review on any other business. This one is wholeheartedly deserved! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE UNLESS YOU ARE A MASOCHIST!!
If I could leave less than a 1 for reliability and support, I would!!

I would give them 0 stars if possible. Apalling customer service, numerous stuff ups on my domain settings and migration which they initiated. Two weeks without emails for my business. Hours on hold when calling phone support, even huge wait times for online chat support. Do not use - a dreadful company.

Hey all. If you are every thinking of using this company I would seriously make sure that you don't.
A client of mine had expired credit card details and without any attempt to contact the client even though they had attempted several times to log in to their account with no luck, their website went down.
I called on behalf of the client and was informed by the indian call centre guy that they had deleted the clients cpanel and their entire website and that they would charge $150.00 to 'look' at the issue they caused and try and restore it.
I made contact with this insidious company on Wednesday and was told by their highest manager after an hour on the phone that the site would be back live in 24-48 hours - definitely - after they said it might not be possible.
It's not 96 hours and counting. No contact. No call. No response to several follow ups.
If you are hosting with these people, get off now before you lose your site as well.

We have been attempting to resolve simple CPanel email access issues and domain registration transferals for more than 2 months now. This means our website and emails have been out of service for 2 months (we can not verify via ICANN until they get the email working). Maddening lack of comprehension from Philippines based call center. Nothing helps... calls, emails, highlighted sections on screenshots to identify problems. NEVER NEVER USE this service. Our business was automatically ported over by UberGlobal and its been a nightmare -- think Hotel California level of entrapment .. no matter how desperately we try, until they fix our email service, we can never leave.

I signed up for a 3 month campaign. The campaign dashboard didn't work properly so they paused the campaign without telling me. They took the money for the 2nd month of advertising after I'd told them to cancel the campaign through their failure to respond adequately to emails. It was then that I found out they'd paused the campaign, & then only by accident. It took another week to find out why it had been paused, & somehow they don't think they're in breach of contract. Out of the 1st month I estimate the campaign ran for 2 weeks but got billed for the whole lot up front.
