NEST SUCKS...do not buy these products.Now that they have merged with Google, you will not get the support or help you need setting up as everything now goes through the Google home app (which completely blows). Save yourself the heartache, pain, and suffering and buy a different product. I have over $1000.00 of Nest products that I will now need to replace with something else.

I ordered two Nest thermostats, one for each house we have. Both arrived and did not work. Different faults. The Nest support team are very helpful but the process is cumbersome. They got my address wrong for one of the replacements, luckily I spotted it but not without more hassle.
The thermostats are now installed and working and the app is great. I stuck with them and hope my decision will be rewarded with product stability for the long term.

If you ever get a new router, the system will not reset regardless of how hard you try and customer service is NO HELP.

I have had NEST for years now. Never had a product fail. Had a glitch once, called customer service and they helped out. And the wait wasnt bad at all.
Since I liked the camera, I got the thermostat. Like both those so I got a doorbell.
The doorbell caught a guy stealing packages off my porch. Turned the video over to the police. That guy got arrested all because he was the police recognized him from my video.
Awesome. Just ordered an outdoor camera for the back yard.

I've had exterior cameras and a thermostat for about 2 years now. Any time something goes amiss with your internet, you have to remove, then re-install the products. This is a huge problem when the cameras are mounted high and outside. So take a picture of the QR code on the back- this info should be in the installation manual but isn't. Customer service isn't bad, but prepared to be on hold for a long time and they offer absolutely nothing for your time and frustration. Buy another product.

Customer service is one of the worst. While the cameras are actually very good, they bill outrageous fees to record for very short time periods. When you call they use the old leave them on hold for ever and hope they just hang up theory.

Fantastic doorbell from Nest. Records all the time and I can view from anywhere with an internet connection, much better than Arlo we previously used and alerts to any motion or people outside - really great.

Terrible customer service!
I originally phoned nest to inquire about the manufacturing dates on the nest protect inventory as I am aware that they expire within ten years of the MANUFACTURING date. The customer service rep that answered advised me that they only ship inventory within 2-6 months of the manufacturing date. This is after I sat on hold for an extended period of time.
With this information, I proceeded to place an order online with nest rather than buying from a local store (as the store inventory had manufacturing dates of over a year old).
The item that I received was over a year old making it greater than 10% obsolete.
I requested to return the item which took multiple phone calls and a long wait to receive the shipping label. Once received, I shipped back the unopened nest protect.
After additional phone calls to confirm that the item had been received, I received an email to notify me that a cheque would be sent within 4-6 weeks, rather than just a refund on my credit card?!
All I wanted to do was add a component to my existing list of Nest products. I can’t begin to understand why this has been so difficult.

I have 2 beach houses and had 2 nests. Replaced TWICE due to overheating -(which did not register on the app). The first time it was to 99º for only a few days... melted candles and popped wine corks and sodas. The second time - AFTER replacing both units - it overheated AGAIN THIS time to 119º (AND IT WAS 2 WEEKS BEFORE WE CAUGHT IT) My house could have burnt!!!! This time it cause serious damage!! Buckled my floors -split the crown moulding and baseboards - ruined 20 bottles of wine - popped sodas in my pantry - and ruined everything in there. Ruined all my makeup - nail polish -cosmetics. AND NEST OFFERED ZERO COMPENSATION!!!!! TOTALLLY UNBELIEVABLE! WHAT TYPICAL APPLE MENTALITY SCREW JOB!!. I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER NEST PRODUCT. AND EVERY AC technician I've ever had - said this happens all the time and they do not recommend Nest for that reason. Many other brands of app thermostats - like Honeywell - do not have any issues.

Avoid - terrible service and billing!
Nest has an okay camera product, however a terrible customer service and billing capability.
Example issues include,
- Website faults that prevent subscriptions from being taken out
- Billing errors that silently cancel subscriptions, meaning that the product stops recordiing to the cloud (without telling you)
- A customer service department that cannot take payment over the telephone to resolve matters.

The nest hello door bell is not worth the money, keep your old doorbell or use a rock because that is how worthy the nest door bell is, it is not supported on the iwatch and if it is on your phone it doesn’t do you any good unless you are staring at your phone at the time, too bad if you have to drive for a living cause you won’t be able to look at your phone while driving, it’s illegal and dangerous so forget about calling the authorities you need, but don’t forget to advise the authorities and Nest about their liability

If I could give nest a zero for customer service I would. Although the people I spoke to were friendly there was no resolution to my complaint. My nest alarm stopped working after a week and when I called customer service I was placed on hold and passed around for over 3 hours. In the end they could not fix the unit nor would they take it back. Best Buy stood behind the product and gave me my money back. I did not want to get rid of the Nest but if no one is capable or competent in servicing the unit then I am better off without it. But for Best Buy being able to do their job I would have ended up in small claims court. DO NOT BUY THE NEST BIG MISTAKE>

Received an email to transfer my App details to GMail (from btinternet). Be wary. I have lost app connection because there is no key code in my 3 year old Nest Learner (2nd edition). Nest web instructions don't detail an alternative way round problem, nor did a near 1hr phone call to helpline where the product number was given.

Stay Away From NEST products!! I have always loved Google and, therefore, when deciding to make our home a smart home; we decided to purchase all NEST products. We bought the third generation thermostats (one for each level of our home), the doorbell, the smoke detectors, Google assistant, automated locks and security cameras. We spent a lot more on these products than we would have on any other smart home devices, because we trusted Google and the products that they make. We hired a professional to install them and had them up and running immediately. A few months into having them installed, our doorbell stops working and the chime in our home keeps humming. I unhooked the doorbell and contacted customer support. I was back-and-forth with them for over an hour, basically re-installing the doorbell, while they tried to troubleshoot what was going on. Since, I hired someone to install it in the first place, it was really confusing to go through their instructions over the phone. All the while, they make you take pictures and upload them over email. They kept dropping our communication and I ended up talking to three different customer representatives all putting me on hold while they caught up to speed with what was going on. They, finally, decided it was a bad chime connector and they said they would mail me a new one. I installed it and it STILL DIDN'T WORK!! I called back and went through all of the troubleshooting AGAIN and this time they decided it was my doorbell transformer. I bought a new part to replace it which was around $40 with tax included. I climbed up in my attic in Arizona summer time heat and replaced my home's transformer and it STILL DOES NOT WORK! I called back and they said they would get a supervisor and had me on hold for over a half hour before I finally hung up. I called back and asked to immediately talk to a supervisor and he put me on hold for another ten minutes before I finally hung up. At this point, I am going to contact the vendor we purchased our products from and see if we can return them. We will be out the price of installation, but with cheaper smart home options available, we will replace them and probably end up having money left over, since NEST products are so much more expensive than everything else out there. I thought you purchased a better quality product for the price, but I was so mistaken. It is one thing to have a product fail and completely another to offer such horrible customer service! Hopefully, nothing ever breaks if you have a NEST product. They will have you rewire your house before admitting that the NEST product is broken and needs replacing.

My thermostat randomly stops working and then will start working again. There is no one to help. I haven't noticed any change in my bill. I regret allowing this thing to be installed!

They hire contractors to do jobs cheaper and with no benefits that the 'real' Nest employees get.

This is a very dangerous device! Do not buy nest protect smoke alarms or carbon monoxide alarms. I had my boiler replaced today and there was considerable smoke and this thing did not beep despite it having been tested. And then we decided to burn some paper right next to it and there was smoke and nothing happened. It did not sound the alarm.
This is a very dangerous product to have in your household. Do not make the mistake of buying!

Horrible customer service ... you better hope your products never stop working as the customer service is totally unhelpful and after spending 1hr with them on the phone the only solution was "get a Nest Pro person in that you will have to pay for yourself"
