company that was auto debiting her account and she did not know who they were, why they were debiting nor how to stop it. The POS sale for magazines.
I called the number on the bank statement 800-918-6773. The company claims to have her voice stating that she agreed to the loan/subscription but will not produce the voice recording.
I was informed I this was for some a loan for $1119.00 I think and is being charged at $38.92 per month for over a year now and there was no way to cancel.
As I discussed this information with my mother-in-law states she was promised a $100.00 Walmart gift card and a diamond watch (this was the hook). However, my mother-in-law stated she informed the very persistent sales lady on the other end of the phone that she could not afford this subscription and the magazine started to come.
She had no idea they were withdrawing money from her account monthly as she did not agree to anything.
Reading the stories on here it nearly identical to what my mother-in-law is saying happened to her.
THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
When i was called to subscribe i was told i could cancel after receiving the documents, and that the number would be listed on the file, the agent did not provide the number. i received the document late in the evening due to my late working schedule., i called to cancel after having buyers remorse, the agent (daniel) was very rude and stated i could not cancel, i asked to speak with a supervisor he refused, stating the supervisor would tell me the same thing,i asked again to speak with a supervisor, he stated he was busy and to have a nice day because if i cancel i would suffer collections and he hung up. i called right back and he answered the phone with "what can i help you with delana?" in a very rude tone. i asked for a supervisor again and he said his supervisor was on vacation. i just want to cancel this horror with out a legal fight. i understand my consumer rights and know the process of debit to creditor, and by requesting a cancellation before i have received any products i can cancel. . just cancel my subscription.

Got scamed from the site of sixty-eight dollars
I kept receiving calls from National Readers over and over, so I finally answered. I talked to this woman and she told me about the program telling me if pay 34.99 a month for a subscription for magazines. I'd also be included for some great prizes. Then she put me on to her manager. When I talked to him he wanted to confirm what she said. Then they put me on to a machine to go through a series of questions and my debit card info. I was told that I could cancel within three months. When I tried to do so, the number that I was given ringed busy 24/7. Couldn't get ahold of them. I didn't know there was a website until I had to go to my bank only because they put my account in the negatives twice. When I talked to the manager I asked him not to take the money out right away because I didn't have the money at the moment. Next thing I new my account was negative. Anyways, my bank found the website. It wasn't even any different to me. I found a lot of people had complaints about the company. I believe I found out about this on the site. They called my home and said I was behind on payments. I told them I tried canceling, but the number they gave kept ringing busy and it was the only number I had for them. Then they said I agreed to pay for 11 months and I said it also said I could cancel, but I didn't find a way possible. I told them I told the manager I could no longer pay after so much time only for a month. They just continued to call over and over. Then the same with my cell. I finally had to block them because they called so much, then my house phone. I really believe I was scammed, and I really could use your help. Also, I forgot to mention, the 1231-354-7714 number, is a payment center. I didn't even know this number existed until they called from it. The number they supplied me with was an 1-800 number. I forget the whole number, but it was an 1-800 number. The whole thing in my opinion just isn't legit, and they scammed me out of $68. Taking $34 out twice, and putting my account in the negatives messing me up.
