I love working as a Nanny for Nannynu. It is a serious and very well organized company. I am very well taken care of as one of their babysitters.

Working for Nannynu has been somewhat of an irritating experience. I was given two different families in the span of 6 months. The first family expected me to work 50 hours a week. The second family said they would hire me twice a week and ended up hiring me only twice a month if not less.
I think the communications between Nannynu are great. I think that the idea of being a flexible company for the families and nannies is great as well. However, I highly believe it is too flexible and there are not enough rules.
For example, I think it is unacceptable that a nanny would be expected to work 50 hours a week. I feel that there should be a limit of 35-40 hours a week for one nanny. If a family needs help 50 hours a week then two nannies should be hired. It is unacceptable everywhere else to work 50 hours a week in Sweden, why is it acceptable in this company? Working 50 hours a week means the nanny does not have time for anything but work and may not get the rest or sleep needed to stay happy and healthy. The parents deserve to have a well rested and happy nanny, don't you think?
With the second family, I had an unbound contract. I really hated having an unbound contract. I was under the impression when I consented to this contract that I had a minimum of 6 hours a week that the family would have to pay me even if they canceled on me. But that is not what happened... instead, it became very unreliable for me as a nanny and I was only paid twice a month.
I feel that if the nanny cancels, the nanny should not be paid. However, if the family cancels, no matter the reason, the family should have to pay at least 75% of the pay (80% is standard in Sweden). It was definitely not fair for me to think they would hire me twice a week and then have them cancel on me almost every time and then not get paid. It was not my fault they canceled on me and it was unfair for me to rely on this assignment for money or for a job. I think it is unfair as well that the family can cancel 24 hours in advance (and then not have to pay the nanny) and not have to reschedule with the nanny for the week.
All in all, I have felt cheated working for Nannynu. I feel that this company does a great job of trying to keep the parents happy but do not look out for their nannies. I highly recommend implementing some rules about hours for nannies so your nannies can feel secure in their job with Nannynu and feel valued.
On the last note, I have loved working with the HR department in this company as well as all the ladies who have done interviews and pairing me with the families. I think they are all wonderful, charismatic, easy to communicate with, and sweet ladies. They are the ones keeping this company together. Good work ladies!!!!

It took a while for the application process and to get my family but it was worth the wait, this is a great job. That is most likely much better than any other job I was hoping to apply for
