As my republic do not have a customer service line only an online chat and the online chat did not work- I Rang complaints line in august 2019 to canceI my account. I was advised My Republoc will now process that request.......and that the account was now cancelled (LIE)
Another full month Payment taken out of my account a month later on 15th September. I Rang complaints line as MY REPUBLIC dont have customer service line..... waited 30 minutes no answer...... so I called sales line.... answered INSTANTLY I spoke to TROY. I said I cancelled last month etc I dont want to wait 30 minutes in the complaints line again for something your company did so can I please get this fixed up now. He said I cant access your account in this department (LIE)... ill put you through to someone to help (LIE). Put me through to complaints line again even though I specifically asked not to be. I didnt want to wait another 30 minutes so I Called sales again. Got Troy again I said im not waiting 30 minutes can you put me through to your manager. Troy said no you cant speak to a manager (LIE). I said can you put me through to someone who I can talk to now not wait for another 30 mins he said sure transfering you now...... after 10 minutes I realised he put me to the back of the complaints line AGAIN. As Troy obviously thought he was clever.....I thought Id be clever- I rang the sales line again (and got Troy again) I said I'd like to set up a new account he said sure. I gave my address and details and he said oh I can see your already signed up. I said but I cancelled that a month ago and I wanted to sign up again now...... he said I can see a cancel request was made but not actioned..... I said well Troy I have called you three times and you said you could not see my file. You LIED. I then said you have a record of this call..... I said I also have a record of this call and I'm going to the ombudsmen. He said if you have recorded this call im hanging up the phone..... and he did. Finally I got someone in complaints on the phone and got a refund for the mistake. The guy in complaints said he will talk to his manager about this one......ha. The reason I'm giving Myrepublic one star is that they are spitting in there customers faces by not helping them when they have a problem and have a culture of lying to customers....... MY REPUBLIC losing your customers trust will be your downfall.

I signed up for the 100mbps plan and the speed never got above 6mbps. I got changed to the 50mbps plan and still got charged for the 100mbps plan. Told them how terrible they were and they would not let me out of the contract. I have now changed and I am very happy with the new provider. I am having to go through the Ombudsman to recover funds.
Please save you money and frustration. MyRepublic are by FAR THE WORST NBN PROVIDER. Speed 1/100. Service 1/100. Con ability 100/100

Zero customer service avoid at all costs. Left offline for over a month. Still offline now ! If you ever have a technical issue with your modem. You will not find a solution with my republic. First they will try to blame you for the issue. After you follow all the steps to get online. When you get the new modem. You still have the same problem. All they will offer you is modem #3. Which won't work either. They do not send a tech to your house and will force you to terminate the service. Or they will tell you to buy a non republic modem and test that. Do your self a favor get a provider with a phone line/ technical support and customer service. Because my republic will dump you if it becomes to hard for them.

Zero customer service! They're scripted and unable or not allowed to think for themselves and you can't get put through to anyone senior. They are trying to charge me for leaving a contract when I left the contract before the contract commenced because they were so incompetent and couldn't provide their end of the agreement. There is no information about head office or anyone that works there. From what I can tell, they are no based in NZ at all other than to register the company here. STAY AWAY - GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!

Worst internet provider presently offering services in Australia. Don’t use. If you do you will end up using the TIO to resolve many many issues. The company in Australia is ethically bankrupt

UNABLE TO REACH BY PHONE AND WON'T REPLY TO EMAIL.
Been with MR 2 weeks exactly today. I signed up to the NBN50 plan as all we do is stream shows a?nd browse internet .. plenty right? Apparently not. I cannot stream Stan or Google Play since day 1 I've had an issue raised for this inferior service quality. I've sent through tests to them and they can see that I'm buffering. Someone changed something and sent me an email on 11/7 asking to check, I responded saying it hadn't worked...no reply. I sent 5+ emails over the weekend...no reply. I started a Live Chat Monday they said they'd call...no call. I started a Live Chat Tuesday they said they'd mark "urgent" and call...no call. I tried to call today and you cannot even call to speak to someone! I Live Chatted again and said I wanted OUT of the contract and this company...then they said they would CHARGE ME a cancellation fee because there was an open "technical issue" unresolved...I have been trying to resolve the damn issue this the day I got this service...nothing. I'm not paying a cancellation fee! They said someone would call me back within 1-2 business days. How can a company like this be trading? It seems like a simple issue for them to fix from their end for me … as I can stream Netflix - but not the others. Why are they advertising that NBN50 plans will enable you to stream HD when in fact they won't? I don't game, so I don't need an NB100 plan...so I went for NBN50 thinking I was doing the right thing. GUYS - seriously just pick another company. It's not worth the hassle if something goes wrong to deal with what I'm dealing with now. I've never written a bad review on a company or product before in my life, but this has just got my back up.

Exhausted our 1 year contract with MyRepublic. They sent us an email notifying us that they were 'retiring' our plan. They gave us two options:
1. We could pay an additional $20 a month to continue with the same plan
2. Pay $5 less a month for half the speed
We locked into a cheap plan so we could avoid paying an expensive internet bill in the future. Now that future is here and we're forced to find and lock into a new expensive contract because MyRepublic does not value their existing customers.

One of the worst customer service I have ever seem and experienced in my entire life. They should be banned from supplying services to Australians. I have spend more than a year requesting a refund of months they kept on charging my account. And on top charge me an extra 245AUD. THEY PROMISE TO HELP AND THEY DO NOTHING!
Keep away from this scrupulous company!

I thought my previous ISP was bad, but my republic actually think that 25mbps is acceptable on a 100 mbps plan.
Do not use if you want fast internet.

I've been with them for years. They wanted me to commit to a 12 month contract so offered something slightly better than what else was on the market, I said yes then..... silence. I spent hours and hours on the phone and by online chat trying to get them to provide what they had promised. I gave them every chance, they failed so I went elsewhere. Now they are trying to prove that I was wrong and that I owe them an early exit fee!
Instead of admitting they messed up, they dropped the ball and know they have things to work on, I've had numerous correspondence, each one was them trying to prove I was wrong and that I was actually in contract.
They're awful, the worst! I will never never never return (and may have if they'd just accepted responsibility).
STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY!!!! GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!!

It amazes me a company that is as poorly run as this even exists. No phone support AT ALL! Try calling the 1300 number and see if you get to speak to somebody? You just get directed back to their limited, clunky website.
Their support staff are downright dishonest and tell stories about what issues are present. (Aka “it’s planned maintenance in your area” when eventually I discovered I had been accidentally disconnected by them!!)
Language barriers with their support via chat...clearly don’t speak English as a first language.
First issue was that they sent an accidental email stating they would be cancelling the unlimited service, due to NBN changes. Then 2 days later admitted this was sent in error. I had made arrangements in the interim to find a new provider, due to the fact I can’t work with limited data.
So I sent an email asking to have my service cancelled on a specific date. Which I made very clear, due to a gut feeling they would muck it up...which they then did.
Took at least 10 chats to even get them to admit that. I was repeatedly told it was planned NBNCo maintenance in the area!
Absolute train wreck of a company.

I would definitely recommend this company over most internet providers. On the Fibre plan and the speeds are great, but if you are thinking you will be able to capitalise on the 900+ Mega bits download promised you will feel sold short. You will most likely only get 1/3rd of that speed, or slightly more if you’re lucky. Despite this, because of the great price point, and consistent up time, with the free installation promised, it’s hard to get mad. This is coming from a Christchurch resident, so maybe for North Islanders this might be different. Cat6 cable didn’t help with this either, but it will help with consistent high speeds. On platforms for downloading games you will reach about 40 mega bytes, average slightly lower.
Installation takes a bit to get used to with the router and modem connections, but if you follow the guide provided or contact a professional the setup should be fine. For more tech savvy individuals, you will have a good amount of customisation in the setting configurations menu. Only problem would be wifi connection to 5Mhz over 2.5, and port forwarding for some reason didn’t work.
The setup for fibre will take a couple of weeks, but is definitely worth it; and the customer support is great, although if you are slow with figuring out things, customer support has gotten annoyed with me in the past, and this is noticeable and unprofessional, but this might of just been that one guy.
Despite the minor annoyances, I’ve had a consistently good experience with MyRepublic and compared to other internet providers I’ve been with in the past, this is the one company that has made my internet usage a much more care free experience, and a load off my mind; definitely recommend.

Worst company I've been in contact with.
I ordered internet on the 4th of December with a promise of it being delivered on the 24th of December 2018.
20 days to get the Internet is quite long but they told me that it would probably be less.
I receive my modem but the internet is still not working to the current date (7/2-2019).
I did receive a couple of e-mails where they promised a technician would come to my apartment and look at the problem but I received in on the 2019-01-14 and the appointment date was 2019-01-04 and I wrote an e-mail back and they said they were sorry and would look into the problem.
In my numerous calls to them I've been promised that I wouldn't have to pay anything but when the due date is money is still withdrawn. I skipped paying once but was then informed there would be extra fees.
Now I've been trying to cancel the subscription for 2 days but it seems the cancellation department has some problems with their phones and calls get disconnected.
The people working in the customer service is very friendly but it takes for hours and hours to get somewhere and it's a worthless company wouldn't even recommend it to Hitler.

I wouldnt even rate 1.... never followed up on a complaint about their partners My Republic as promised. I went through Iselect on the 22nd Jan to connect my internet. 185+ emails to my republic, over 12 hours on the phone and no resolution or connection (22nd Jan - 18th March) I called Iselect as they should know about the companies they represent and how terrible the service is. I was assured i would have a call back from Iselect within 24 hours and they would help me with MyRepublic. Over a week later no response from Iselect. In the meantime I spent another 3+ hours on the phone with MyRepublic, they said they will hold payment (YES I had been charged for services I could not access) and a new modem would be sent in 48 hours. 4 days later, no modem and I received a text message from my republic to remind me to have payment in my account by the 18th March so once again a broken promise. Finally I did get a new modem, once again not working and 1 hour and a half on the phone to my republic (iselect were supposed to help me but no) and no resolution. on the 18th March (54 days of dealing with this) I called another service provider directly... by the 20th March (less than 48 hours later) I had a new modem by the new provider and I connected it and immediately I have internet. I work from home so I have lost 54 days of income
Also to note, when I initally agreed with iselect to use MyRepublic I was told I was not on a contract and my modem was free.... this was not true, I was charged for the modem and apparently had a 12 month contract ..... I am appalled by this service and myrepublic. If I could give no stars I would

I had a simple issue with faulty equipment supplied by myrepublic which just needed a replacement. Was advised verbally that it would arrive within 6 business day. Upon following up the status a week later it was made known that they had not yet actioned anything and it would be another 6 business days.
When I requested reasoning/ accountability for what happened (an apology and a simple explanation would have been fine) I was blatantly called the wrong name and ignored. Their responds was "you can borrow a modem"
After requesting again for a simple answer and an apology I was advised "we are closing your request" with no other information.
I put a formal complaint as o'er their complaints policy which was acknowledged and advised would receive a response in the next few days.
The next response was "we are closing your request"
It has now been an exorbitant amount of time and 4 more requests and my republic have now just refused to respond to anything.
Its almost impossible to get anyone on the phone with wait times that are ridiculous my long.
Their service is a joke and I would stay far far away.

MyRepublic has been great for my household, I'm on their 50 Mbps plan and its a good speed even if the kids are gaming and my wife is on netflix.
I have only had to call their service desk once and they were helpful.

Been with them for coming up to one year now. NBN connection has been very good, fast and reliable. Had no need to contact them for 10 months now... luckily! Customer service was terrible. Main problem was transferring landline number. They left me hanging on the phone for literally hours on many attempts to talk to someone. They blamed previous provider. Every time I called (and waited and waited and waited.....), it was like starting afresh. Eventually it happened though!
NOW they tell me my contract is expiring and the best they can offer is a service at half the speed for $10 a month more or same service for 50% more! They’re blaming the deals NBN are offering them. Maybe that’s right. Who knows. Other providers are offering cheaper service at the same speed but their reviews are even worse and some of the stories about speed and connection are really scary. Looks like I’m stuck with them. At least I know My republic works but really, what a rip off this whole NBN thing seems to be. After 1 year the service is now half the speed it was and costs more!

I have just been in contact with your CCC. And to be honest, I am appalled. We are moving to a new home. So I had the following request:
1: I would like to have an internet connection on our new property, and at the same time have our existing connection running for another month. I am aware that I would have to pay extra for that.
In my book a very simple and clear request. Firstly I contacted you on your chat on the website. There your agent asked me for my personal details before they could answer me. After giving them that, they told me to call your call center. I am sure they could have done that before getting all my details.
Then I called your call center, and talked to one of your phillipino call center agents. He told me, that if I had to keep my existing connection open, I had to pay a fee for a new subscription on a different address on top of the moving fee. Secondly, he told me that you could only supply a lesser speed, due to the fact that there is not NBN on the new address. And that my new monthly fee for a lesser connection would be higher than the one I pay at the moment. Lastly he told me that it would take 21 business days (that is a full month in human days…) Before you could have me up and running.
When I asked to talk to a manager, I was put on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up.
What kind of customer service is this? My two most painful experiences with Myrepublic has been when I signed up with you, one time i waited on hold for your CCC for 3!!!!! hours, and now, that I am moving. I have been VERY happy with the technical service you provided me, but the B2C communication is miserable, and you have turned me from an ambassador to archenemy within 24 hours. I will make sure to mention this every single time, the conversation falls on ISP’s, which is funnily rather often!
