I can only reiterate what others have said. LIARS LIARS LIARS!!! IAS are riddled with rot. Managers are liars. Write letters full of lies. They ignore instruction from the DWP. They clearly think they are above the law. The nurses that work for them should be struck off as they break their Nursing code of conduct ALL the time. They lie & lie & it starts right from the moment your application is sent to IAS from the DWP. They lie, ignore & dispute what you have said in your application, what doctors / consultants / family etc have written in letters. Its actually pointless giving them any letter from a professional because one manager told my husband it means nothing because it is up to them not a doctor & they ignore what they write. They apparently can over ride the highest consultant & dispute diagnosis. The ordinary staff at DWP know what is going on but are helpless as it comes from on high. The stress that IAS create is a disgrace & I really really hope that all of them one day get their come uppance.

I went to my assessment yesterday in Sheffield. I have been on DLA High mobility for over 10 years, got indefinite award as problems from birth and not going to improve. I was expecting at least 2 people to take my assessment, but there was only one and by the overall impression, she had no medical training or knowledge and would be like me at work taking details for such an important reason. I expect to be turned down and face an uphill struggle as reading past reviews to be passed straight away is a miracle. I have worked all my life and the amount I get allow for the little extras that being disabled can cost. I have been suffering with worry since the first letter I received at the end of August.

Yet we have been sitting by the door, the living room faces the front door and we can see everybody who walks towards the house and front door ... NOBODY came up those stairs... And NOBODY knocked on the door... He left a voice message at the same time he aparently was standing at the door... I don't know how this person can sleep at night... Now under more stress and that's on its ON YOU. Do you think these disabled people want to be disabled... They go through pain with their health, humiliation and dibilitating issues, daily yet have to put up with this rubbish from you people.. Shame on you! I really hope that this doesnt need to be taken further... We all know what happened to pinnocio when he told a lie...

Please report health care professionals to the body that oversees their profession. Please record your assessment in open if you can otherwise in secret.
Independent Assessment Services, aka Atos IT Services UK Limited, are a company, a business, not there to be honest must to mislead so that they can make more gains, more profit. There more people they deny PIP benefits to, the more they earn. Even though this costs taxpayers even more because of the additional appeals they have to pay for.
The average reviews are set for every 2 years, thus were a claimant might receive the PIP benefit now, s/he might not following another assessment. Even though they are fully entitled to the benefit, this will be stopped so Atos can justify their charges. It's a race to the bottom, and the disabled suffer while Atos directors get richer and nurses and other health care professionals go on abusing those they owe a duty of care to.

This is my experience.....
Went for a re assessment in February as not only do I have Rheumatoid Arthritis I’m now diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. The assessment was just awful, she was rude and arrogant. She made comments like “I suppose you have a blue badge” just awful. It was so awful that I made a complaint to the assessment company. My report was disallowed due to the horrible assessor ignoring all my evidence, and a new one organised. The DWP took away my PIP on the back of the original disallowed report without looking at medical evidence (illegal) the DWP would not back down.
The second assessment was ok, and I went from no award to enhanced for both elements, how can that be then? the first report was full of lies, “ I bent down to pick up a coat” I wasn’t wearing a coat, the lies just went on and on. I’m going to report the assessor to her governing body.
My advice to anyone is that if you feel your assessment was just awful then make a complaint to the assessment company straight away.

What a horrible company this is. I received a text on my mobile saying that an appointment had been made for me to see a PIP assessor in City 10 miles away from my home on the same date that I have to take my wife to hospital in my home town to see the Oncologist that is treating her for life threatening Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I phoned the number 0800 188 4881 to try and rearrange the appointment to a different date in my home town. You would think it would be a simple request but was nigh on impossible. The lady introduced herself but was more concerned about my National Insurance number than my name, if only she had asked my name first it would have been a much better experience.
This is a private company in business to make a profit and not to help individuals who have serious health issues.

Why no zero stars?
Had my assessment (2nd in 2 years + c18 months after successful Tribunal decision) + there's little to add to the horrors everyone else has gone through: it's all depressingly familiar. I've yet to receive my report but, if the last one was anything to go by, it's probable that it will contain a similar mix of highly selective statments (i.e. anything "pro" my application will be omitted) and out and out lies.
Quite extraordinary, however, to be told that the opinions/diagnoses of several doctors (GPs and consultants) including the one at the Tribunal plus the Judge and Disability Consultant who were on the panel, "don't count" just those of the nurse carrying out the "assessment".
Feel quite sure that there is a criminal offence in here somewhere - e.g. if an employee gains (more) money by assessing in accordance with his employer's wishes - however expressed or, those of the DWP!

We had a renewal assessment for my daughters pip July 2019 . My daughter has autism and on every previous renewal and initial claim we have had assessors who new nothing about autism . I was shocked when our assessor ' Christopher Patch' arrived at out home . He was wonderful . Caring, Informative, attentive polite and listened with interest and concern when I spoke on my daughters behalf . We spent apx an hour and a half with Christopher and at the end he asked that we do a review no matter what we felt . I can honestly say he was a breath of fresh air and an absolute gentleman a credit to the assessment service and I truly hope that these assessments are dealt with in this kind manner for all claimants .

I had my assessment carried out today at Chatham Maritime. As someone who has been claiming DLA for over 12 years and been paid a care allowance and the higher rate of mobility, I strongly resented being interviewed by what appeared to be a clerk typist accompanied by a trainee observer. Of course the typist stopped typing long enough to ask me one of many questions, then repeatedly resumed her accomplished keyboard clattering.
I have a tribunal decision on record endorsed by a lawyer, a doctor, and an expert on disability, which granted me my DLA indefinitely. This decision was a unanimous one, and further endorsed by a senior DWP manager who was present during the interview/assessment.
I would have thought that someone of my age (now 68) and record of debilitation, would have at least deserved the courtesy of a suitably qualified medical or disability professional, not a bloody typist who stopped long enough to ask me the next question that popped up on her computer screen
Is this how sick, elderly and frail people should be treated in accordance with government policy? This organisation's mission statement about care, respect, and consideration, is a lie - and/or someone's poor attempt at humour!!!

The so called health care professional was handed a repeat prescription with 2 well known anxiety medications listed for ongoing use.. the assessment report written by this health care professional afterwards stated that an absence of regular anxiety medication meant that the claimant doesn’t have anxiety and it is medically reasonable to expect the claimant has no difficulties with tasks x y and z.
What? Are you joking? Where did you pull that from?
Well we showed the gp that assessment report and she was disgusted and immediately wrote a letter correcting all the lies in the report. We compiled all our evidence and went straight to citizens advice and lodged an official complaint to ias and a mandatory reconsideration to dwp. No one with severe mental health issues should be put through this horrendous stressful procedure because a so called health care professional decided not to do her job correctly and fairly and instead chose to sit down at her desk after the assessment and make up a bunch of complete lies in order to save the dwp money. Absolutely disgraceful ! At least in Scotland we will soon be banning private contractors from conducting assessments for pip once social security Scotland takes over the benefit and process! I feel sorry for the rest of the UK that has to suffer the consequences of Tory austerity and the shambolic inhumane treatment of the most vulnerable in society. Shame on this company and shame on the health care professionals that chose an easy desk job with higher pay at the expense of the patient instead of putting there training to good use in our wonderful understaffed NHS. You lot shouldn’t have bothered entering the profession in the first place!

I am the wife of Alan Cooksey My advice to anyone having to attend a PIP assessment here is not to attend by yourself, to bring a friend or someone as a witness. Be aware there are CCTV cameras probably following your progress to and from the assessment venue, especially if you use the Outlet Car Park. I did not use the nearest underground car park because I am unfamiliar with the layout, steps levels and lighting etc plus the route I chose to take was safe, flat, familiar to me and level and I used cafe seating to sit and rest. I believe this was used against me. I question the morality of using trained staff who if they are health professionals why are they not wishing to work in hospitals or community delivering patient care rather than being responsible for making decisions which affect lives. I wish to advise if you are being interviewed here not to be lured into a false sense of security, these interviewers are nice to your face but will stab you in the back .I also wish to warn service users about the exercises they ask you to perform at the end of your interview. Even if you genuinely can not do them they insist you can. My report states that I can place my arms behind my back when I obviously and genuinely could not. My report stated that I have the physical capability to reach my lower back I have had a few other inaccurate comments on my report such as walking with a stick when I attended using 2 crutches. I object to some of the unhelpful language in my report such as my appearance was well kempt and I dressed appropriately. What has this to do with my mobility difficulties? My report says I heard my name being called. I am deaf and wear 2 hearing aids which I was wearing plus I was not called, the assessor approached us. I am devastated to lose my vehicle which is my lifeline and the difficulties this will cause. My spinal injury caused by maternity staff 32 years ago after childbirth in a local hospital and subsequent mobility difficulties were not my fault and I worked before this happened to me. I feel angry that this has happened to me and the way I am being treated because of it.I believe that disabled people do not deserve to be assessed in this manner. Despite becoming very upset and tearful at the beginning of this interview due to the questioning which the assessor responded kindly the questions had to be answered if not then, another day, my report states there is no evidence of any overwhelming psycological distress, .My interview lasted 2and a half hours of relentless questioning although I believed at the time my assessor was mindful of my hearing loss. I have found that my efforts to try and manage and be as independant as possible have worked against me plus not being able to access GP support. I hope this helps and prepares you for your interview.

I had an assessment on the 13th April 2029 with regard to PIP. As soon as i seen the person who was to carry out this assessment I immediately recognised this person as the one who had carried out my assessment for ESA in November 2017. I told the assessor that she was the one who had carried out that ESA assessment to which she replied that she had never carried out assessments for ESA.
From that moment on I knew that the assessment would be far from accurate because it had started with a lie from the assessor.
I have raised my concerns via the Independent Assessment Services complaint procedure, not an easy process, they do try to make it as difficult as possible to try and dissuade an individual from pursuing a complaint, I.e, requested a complaints form 4 times, 4 times I was told that one was sent out to me, only received the 4th after requesting to speak to a manager. The second stage of the complaints procedure was just as difficult, one of there employees even put the blame on the Royal Mail for letters not being received.
The response to the second stage complaints process was shocking, alarming together with a glimmer of amusement. The so called Health Professional has now left the business.
Onwards to the Independent Case Examiner, I question the Independent bit.

Here's my experience. Text taken from letter sent to mp.
Where do I start?
Had my pip home exam today (recorded or I would be out on a limb here), and the so called "HCP" left me a wreck! Throughout the interrogation, she was moving on to next question, without letting me answer the question in point. When I persevered with my answers, she said time constraints meant I was slowing down her pace, I persevered anyway. I'm not interested in her tick box jury, or her watch, so I got my answers across.
She was not too pleased she did not have control over me, like I should be terrified of her and roll over for her. No way, I'm not here to be trod on by a soulless, selfish specimen of a thing. This contract killer will not deny me my dignity!
Then, during physical exam, she asked to put her hand on my thigh, never touched my thigh, went to my knee and leaned on it! I hit the roof, this so called orthopedic person was leaning on my knee knowing I suffer from neuropathy. Instant pain caused by an "HCP". I really can't get my head round that, what was her (ulterior?) motive saying she was going for my thigh, then does such an unprofessional act of doing what she done? What was her motive?? I asked why she put me in pain. She tried to apologise, I shouted it should never have happened.
From then on she had me wound up, triggering me into a wreck, all from a cheesy smiled killer. She caused all this deliberately? Targets etc? Sadist? I blew my top, she had me shouting and swearing. I asked her if she was done, she said "I've got enough". I shouted at her to get out, I was taking no more of her unprofessionalism. South American narco gangs would be proud to have her onboard. Needleess to say, I question her claim of being an orthopedic person.
I have nothing but venom for these b******s, the decent ones are the those who can't be continually coerced into killing the ill, and LEAVE. The creme dela creme are those who become whistleblowers, it's all there to see folks, Killers R Us. Submitting false reports to meet quotas. Example; An elderly gentleman, registered blind and in a motorised wheelchair, and chaperoned. Report said he had no problem walking 20mtrs and finding his way about! There are many thousands of similar heartbreaking cases, but Killers R Us and their henchpeople don't give a flying fk about the patient. They are only interested in the riches for shareholders, and the foreign holidays, cruises they accumulate in their killing spree.
Well, I'm not registered blind, or in a motorised wheelchair. So my report could say something like I was observed thinking for myself...pas de points.
As you will understand, I wish only the most severe Karma visitation on ALL these self centred cash grabbers. The longest pain for you all, the better. What's good for the goose...
Here's a thought. How many of these sleazebags admit to working for Benefit Denial Factories when asked? Hmmm.
For the record. Any Karma activity that hopefully takes place on the leeches, will have no input from myself, relations, friends, aquaintances, casual or otherwise. I make no threats here whatsoever, just a burning desire to see plenty Karma.

This company doesn't even deserve one star. My assessor got my meds wrong despite having a copy of the prescription repeat, she said I had osteoporosis when I have osteoarthritis. Much of the report is a simple copy/paste from one section to another. The nurse really did not understand my disabilities at all (for example she used the fact that I held a notebook as evidence that I could open blister packaging of small tablets). The assessment staff made me feel small and degraded. I wrote to the company afterwards pointing out glaring errors and they said they would speak with nurse involved and make sure she doesn't do it again but I have my doubts about this. On the musculoskeletal assessment she said I could bend to reach my knees but as I was sat in a chair and never stood up, this is clearly a fabrication. I am now preparing my tribunal paperwork which has caused me loss of money, loads of stress, lots of wasted time. I have to wait at least a year for the tribunal in this area....how much is all this costing the taxpayer? Awful, awful company, awful staff and horrendous attitude to claimants (they make you feel they think you are scrounging and the money is coming out of their own pocket). Disgraceful and maybe claimants should be thinking about reporting to the police under the Fraud Act 2008 because that is what it is. Fraudulent.

I have just put a mandatory reconsideration in to the DWP.My pip assessment by these spiteful people resulted in me getting no points in my assessment.I will only list a few fraudulant claims as i havent got the energy to write an essay .I have spent a good few hours today writing a complaint to these jokers.I was observed unfastening my coat.-um no i wasnt.i wasnt wearing a coat ! I was able to answer questions without being prompted by the assessor or my accompanying friend.-my friend said on at least 3 occasions she had to prompt me as i was unable to remember.then went on half lies, half truths, twisting truth for effect. It really annoys me that to be able to use the internet means you are in perfect health. Its just something to do while im holed up in the house in too much pain to move.A medical condition that has huge impact on my life and was discussed at the assessment didnt even get a mention despite it preventing me from driving.i havent driven since December but this amazing psychic said i could drive and plan a journey.Even when i was driving i was unable to drive without somebody with me but i can plan journeys! Hey you learn something new everyday! My biggest complaint is that i had to do the exercises at the end of the assessment. This was my assessors biggest Enid Blyton moment.I could perform the movements with ease.i could get on the bed and lift my legs. The simple truth as my friend can testify is that the exercises caused extreme pain making me shake and sweat.i could hardly do them and had to stop each one without doing it properly.I struggled on the bed and tried to use my jeans to lift my leg as i was unable.i was told i was "cheating" As these were movements that i didnt do i remarked that i was shocked how little i could do the exercises and the smug woman answered, and i quote."yes that was a real eye opener for you: then she proceeded to tap on her computer that apart from a little shoulder pain i could do everything.she neglected to mention that after crouching i could hardly get up,Those exercises caused me two days of even worse pain as all my inflamed muscles had been aggravated.I have put in a complaint, sent by recorded delivery signed for so it cant get conveniently lost.I dont expect any result from doing this but i was so upset at her blatant attempt to hijack any chance i had of receiving pip which according to their descriptions i am entitled to.They are liars, they have no empathy and are commiting fraud on a daily basis. I have written to my MP who i hope will represent me.He has stepped in on my behalf with tax credits in the past, when i was left without money for weeks on end.The only reason they have one star is because i couldnt get the page to load without one.If there was a minus 50 score that is what i would rate them.I feel that she has made me look like a fraud.I have mental health problems but because i have had it so long im good at wearing a mask.she didnt know prior to the meeting i had not slept for a week and had been really ill and breathless due to the fear of going to to be assessed.Apparently because i was aware of what was going on and was not confused in the surroundings i was mentally 100 % .well what do you know? These people arent trained to be able to assess a person so they just make it up.so angry and distraught at the moment.its set me right back

Wanted to give no stars but that option isn't available for some reason? 24 year old son has severe autism, lives in supported living house, received DLA from age 3. Told to apply for PIP as DLA is ending. Just received decision letter, zero points for everything and DLA ending in less than three weeks!!!!!!! Losing £320 a month. How on earth do you receive 0 points for not needing help and support when you live in a home that's specifically designed for giving help and support??!!!! Anyway, here are a few examples of the evidence from social worker and the reasons given for 0 points: Social Worker - X has inability to manage and plan bus journey's unaided. Decision: I decided you can follow the route of a journey unaided. You report anxiety going out, however you do not take medication for anxiety. Social Worker: without care support in situ X would be at risk of self neglect. He has set routines and will wash every 2-3 days. Decision: you wash daily and dress in clean clothing. And so on and so on.............. well done IAS, son has now taken to his bed, WILL now need anxiety meds and you have 0 chance of ever getting him to attend another assessment!!

I had an assessment at the Highland Health Center and the Assessor M/s Samantha Stevens, assaulted me, I am Autistic and have mobility issues. She assaulted me by knocking my hand out the way as I passed my National Autistic Passport to her, it ended up on the floor and I was in my wheelchair! This happened in the waiting room and she then ORDERED me to take a seat in the waiting room! When i told her I already had seat, i.e.my wheelchair she ordered me again to take a seat in the waiting room. That is getting out of my wheelchair and sitting in a 'normal' chair. When I refused she canceled the assessment as I was being difficult!
I reported her to the police and civil action against her is pending for Breaches of the Equalities Act, Assault, Torture Inhumane and Degrading Treatment and a Breach of my Human Rights.
There are 2 scientific reports that show people and organizations with authority are treating disabled people exactly like the disabled were treated in Nazi Germany circa 1933/34.
When this organization traded as ATOS they were EVIL now they are just like those in Nazi Germany in 1933/34
