We were on MSc. Magnifica .. never again sold the drinks package then when we got on. Board was told the package didn't include some drinks . So we upgrade to premium and first bar we went to was told sorry no strongbow . And no cider on the ship . Food was cold . And choice was not good . One night the carvery meat was a spam type meat . What the Italians think nice food is. . we been on lots of cruise but this was bad . .. don't boot MSc

Have just completed a 42 day cruise on the MSC Orchestra. The ship was very good but the food was boring and tasteless. Also the organisation was not very good. However I have to say all the ports we visited in Iceland, Greenland, Norway and the Mediterranean were amazing.

I had been on 3 cruises with p&O,and saw the Italian ship .msc fantasia..and was so excited..little did i know it would turn into a nightmare that has put me cruising..some are my own reasons..but MSC are a greedy penny pinching company who could not care less, there was so much that I could write, but to keep it brief,I will start by saying.on arrival..there was NO transfer. I halve mobility and use a stick,so u can imagine up and down palma airport for 2 hours and sitting as I could not walk a nother minute while my son tryed to find someone..but nothing. So we got a taxi to the ship.i called my travel agency and she called MSC..and assured me that this would not happen on return journey..guess what? It did..so much happens in this Cruise..I am,appalled how this ship is run..nothing works .the staff cannot understand anything you ask them..they are a horrible greedy company and all that matters is what they can get..their attitude is appalling ,snappy and dismissive..like i say there is so much so i have started a complaint against MSC..I would never ever go on there if it was free.please save your money..I have been so upset..and could Not wait to get home...horrible experience.....

On MSC Magnifica Bari 26 Aug -Bari 3Sep
1. Our restaurant manager helped celebrated my birthday and was really helpful in making special arrangements to get us a table during our seating everyday.
1. Spa treatment was very lousy (bad technique) and overpriced - When the spa manager, Darwin, asked me how was the treatment, I said: very bad. He gave me a shocked face, paused, and said : Give me some time. He walked off and NEVER CAME BACK after 5 minutes. When I walked out, he was standing at the merchandise store looking out for customers. No follow up after that. BAD!
2. As we are Asians, the waiters who are Asians tend to serve the whites first, even though we came first. Felt discriminated.
3. The housekeeping was classic! 2hours before disembarkation, our bedsheets and blanket was pulled out, all in a mess. 30 minutes before disembarkation, the lady came in and chased us out!
4. The customer service staff refused to provide an official document, or simply to chop and sign the notice that states the late disembarkation - which could help us claim insurance for trip disruption. The staff was unhelpful and kept pointing us to the Terms and Condition saying that change in disembarkation timing is covered in the Terms and Condition. Totally missing the point.
In summary: This cruise is PURELY TRANSECTIONAL - no service, no personal touch at all. Food was just so-so. I would not recommend this if you have more budget to afford better cruiselines.

Sailed on Sinfonia from Venice to Santorini and back.
It was a once-off special for me and my wife- we´ve never spent that much on a holiday before, and are pensioners.
Most of the experience was good. We pre-booked excursions, and enjoyed them- good guides and visits. Food was good. Cabin and balcony were great, and a very friendly/efficient cleaning maid. Spent time practising Spanish with her and learning of her family in Honduras. Service in restaurant friendly and efficient.
You have to accept that it is very Italian in feel- lots of noisy and pushy behaviour by passengers, but basically friendly.
Orange towels were left on sun-loungers to reserve places. Supposedly not allowed if you are elsewhere for over half an hour, but not policed.
As ´oldies´ and very light drinkers, we were misled into buying a drinks package. We had understood it was a payment for one day, not per day. Confusing noisy bar, I´m somewhat deaf, and the small print was poor contrast on a coloured page. We asked if it was all we need for a week and they had said yes. Didn´t realise until 6-30 on final morning when got statement of our account. Reception- after a half-hour queue- shrugged shoulders and said we were trying to back out of something. We said it was mis-sold. Paid under protest. Now back in the UK- just try to find a way to do more than post a review on MSC´s site! Will try ´Resolver´, Martin Lewis´s recommendation- but basically several hundred dollars down the drain.
VERDICT? It was always intended as a once-off. Won´t repeat. Enjoyed so much of it, but feel they were too ready to rip off customers for profit.

This has to be the worst service my family and I have ever received. No accountability from the staff. No leadership and not a care in the world from customer service when making a complaint. I’m not going to waste time on going into detail as MSC does not deserve another second of my valuable time. Take it from us... safe your disappointment and $ and choose a different cruise liner. You’d regret choosing MSC. Full Stop.

I just returned from a cruise with MSc with my 2 boys 10 and 14 years
However we were mis sold by MSc customer services/sales department
I have tried contacting MSc with my complaints through an email no one seems to care I am actually thinking of going legal
MSc consultant mis sold the package by promising countries we did not visit
For our ever first cruise it has been a total disaster all I expected was to have a conversation with someone from MSc but once you write an email it states it may take 28 days to Answer just a simple mail to recognise customers complaining.
I have been back for over a month and no one is bothered to contact me or give me an explanation this is very poor customer service
How else are we suppose to complain to a compony who don’t want to hear from customers
Very disappointed. Can I please get advise from anyone out there? If you are mis sold a product as a package who can I complain to ?
MSC are not replying to my emails or at least make an effort to hear my complaint
Am sure there is someone I can report to
Very disappointed customer

I am reading all these negative reviews in horror!!!, I just booked a Seven day Caribbean cruise with MSC Meraviglia. This is my first cruise, I am not a USA, Canada or UK resident, I am a Jamaican citizen. In my confirmation email I was told that I cannot do online check in I will have to do so at the port and that is where I will get my ticket, tags etc. I don't like the fact that International passengers cannot do like the Romans do........I am so worried.

MSC guests all place towels over sun loungers early am and never return until after shore excursions. Need to enforce the no towel policy . If no one returns within 1 hour. You can have it. Guest even reserve smoking tables with their t -shirts. It's not on.
Overselling by staff is overbearing. Every spa member , every photographer keeps pushing you to buy extra.
DO not psy the 70 pp service charge per day , unless you have had a great experience. Ask reception to remove service charge and the donations to charity. You can hand staff money tips by hand personally. Make sure you are not seen doing this as they will get into trouble.
Cabins tiny compared to other cruise liners.
Food excellent but they shove you onto group tables for fine dining on an evening I prefer to sit with my friends and family at the evening meal so we sat in the buffet bar each night.
Staff very friendly.

On board the MSC Preziosa 11th September 2019, arrived back today.
We were not aware that passengers were being picked up in every port and therefore having to listen to the long safety briefing in 5 languages in our room first thing in the morning was extremely disturbing when you are trying to sleep. As we did not want to always eat in the formal restaurant the buffet restaurant was the obvious choice but on sea days it was so crowded that we gave up trying to get food as there was nowhere to sit and huge queues and extremely rude Europeans bathing in front of you. Any games played such as bingo turned out not to be fun due to the length of time it took to explain instructions on all those languages a good half hour before starting. The one bar that we did enjoy sitting at in the evening on deck 7 was above the casino where smoking was allowed and the smell wafted up through the open stairwell, as non smokers and having asthma this too was unpleasant and you left smelling of smoke. Given the fact that they have a strict no smoking policy I find this extremely hard to understand that they allow you to smoke on an internal part of the ship. The whole cruise is geared for the European’s and not the English including the entertainment. Everything on board is really expensive and they try to push you into buying everything! The Butcher’s Cut restaurant was the highlight of the cruise but of course you had to pay! I also wouldn’t recommend the shuttle buses into town, they cost a fortune and what they don’t tell you is can walk to most, certainly Bruge, Hamburg and Rotterdam. I would never travel on an MSC cruise again, we did have another booked over Christmas but this was cancelled today!

We had saved hard all year and was looking forward to a luxury cruise to the med, seeing a few more places on our bucket list of things to do and see. We were advised that MSC had a ship going to a couple of the places for the dates we had available.
We were a little hesitant being an Italian line, but were reassured it is lovely, beautiful, friendly, welcoming and you get offered a great 'fantastica' package where you get water with your meal in the dining room, gratuities included etc. We thought great, less to worry about. We booked.
Upon arriving at the port after a poor flight experience, it looked good, as we got closer we were still looking forward, but then we encountered our first people whom worked for MSC, let's just say rude, abrupt and friendly to certain countries but not to others, we were queuing forever, they were letting others pass us, it was in the midday sun, no cover, hot, no air con, 35 minutes we queued to get rid of the bags and be offered to go into the building for respite from the sun. Upon getting upstairs it was smokers heaven, people lighting up anywhere they could. Staff when you asked a question almost screaming at you, it was a case of find a seat and say nothing, do nothing, go nowhere.
As for the ship when we got on, MSC Musica - in need of maintenance, frayed carpets lifting on stairs, steps, main doors, broken furniture not reparied and still being used, unclean culterly and plates when being served food in restaurant just waiting for NORO VIRUS to hit, it was smoky, smelly and not friendly.
Everything cost money, charges even a glass of water from the bar (tap) 75 cents! Save your money and go elsewhere. We ended up spending more money with all the charges on this cruise than we did on a Holland America and that was a far better cruise ship and line.
When booking the cruise might look cheap, but it is misleading as they get you once you are on and you end up paying out for everything. Also do NOT pay your gratuities in advance, we had poor service and rudeness, but had no way of getting funds back as it was part of the package.
Would we travel on MSC again, NO, not disabled friendly, rude passengers and staff and you spend far too much money, save it and use a better cruise line. You have been warned!

We booked a cruise for our family of four on 19th September 2019 for a cruise in June/July 2020 but we had to cancel the very next day.
So, without getting into too much detail this was out of our control completely and even though we wrote to MSC to explain (you can’t talk to them) they simply hid behind ‘policy’ stating that deposits are not refundable.
My family lives abroad (USA), they tried initially to book for all of us but they couldn’t as we reside in the UK and to add that the whole experience of trying to book from the UK and USA as a group was terrible ...then dealing with the cancellation was very traumatic.
The UK numbers to call don’t work, even on their letterhead confirming cancellation charges the numbers doesn’t work. We did manage to speak with the wrong person, taking bookings, only to be referred to writing to their cancellations team who showed us no leniency.
If you’re thinking of using this lot be sure you know who you’re dealing with before you get into bed with them.
Very disappointed overall with the service, how they responded and how much of my time it took to get anything done - we would not recommend MSC Cruises to anyone who feels a customer is important and deserves to be heard.
As things stand, we are charged for every member of our family a £100 in cancellation fee and that is for cancelling a single room (my kids are 4 and 1 years old).
Given how far in advance we cancelled as well as how quickly after booking one would think they would consider a lower charge or at least allow the rest of my family still going to enjoy our hard earned cash as credit towards something onboard the cruise.
It’s about a principle, I don’t agree with their cancellation policy and wish I knew what I know now prior to booking in the first place.
We have used other cruises, but will never use MSC again.

Booked two cabins. One for grandma and our 10 year old son. Second for my partner and I. Both cabins had to be paid for separately done through travel agent. It was important to us that both cabins were near to each other. Grandma is not good on her feet and our son a high energy kid. Two months before departure MSC asked for payment for second cabin claiming we had not paid. We had to fight with MSC to prove to them through Visa statements etc that we had paid. After a month they admitted fault, that they had refunded our payment by mistake to another client which showed our cabin not paid for. However during the discrepancy our second cabin had now been sold to another customer. MSC now unable to get us together we were on different decks and opposite sides of the ship. We were not happy but were told to check once onboard as they will have no shows and cancellations. First day onboard nothing was done, told to check availability in every port. It was impossible for our son to sleep in the same cabin so far away with grandma so fragile so my 47 year old partner had to sleep with his mother NOT HAPPY! Every day we checked but told to complain to our agent as nothing could be done. Our agent was not at fault, MSC had totally ruined our holiday. This was not a cheap cruise in July high season. Finally we asked to speak to a manager who explained she understood this was MCS fault (she had read the booking history) however because the ship was full she could not help but wanted to speak to her supervisor to see if she could offer something as a form of compensation. The next day we received a letter offering us two 30 minute massages. I was embarrassed at our worth to this company as Voyger club members. It’s unbelievable that MSC believed this would make it all OK. As for the cruise the staff are miserable, no conversation no smile or want to engage with customers. The ones that did told us it was not a good company to work for. We have cruised various times before with MSC and we were not impressed before but we thought we would give them another try. We cruise 4-5 times a year and other members of our family equally but non of us have a high opinion of MSC. All members of our family will never come back to MSC from now on we will always cruise with Royal Caribbean.

The following is our letter of complaint to MSC after cruising on board Magnifia on Sunday 2nd June.
After arrival at Venice Airport, we were met by the MSC Representatives and escorted to our coach, where we had to load our suitcases on board. Transferring to the port, upon arrival same scenario to unload our bags and take them to checkin outside the terminal building. Once completed we were escorted back to the bus and taken to another building on the dock and were dropped off outside…I would say it was around 12.30. When no explanation was given to what was going on, we found some young girls wearing red MSC polo shirts, who we stopped and asked what was happening and why were we here. They then explained the another cruise liner had crashed in the quay and our own ship the MSC Magnifica hadn’t yet docked! They made no mention that the other ship was in fact another MSC liner. We had to ask what we were supposed to do, as we originally were supposed to board at 13.00. The response was to go away…either to Venice by taxi, or walk or take the waterbus, and to return back to this spot at 17.00. MSC had nothing in place to accommodate us in any way.
We found a café nearby which was swamped with other passengers, we managed after an hours queue to obtain a drink and the last panini, which my wife and I had to share.
We returned to the “meeting point” at around 1600 to find the same girls had been handing out numbered tickets for passengers to assemble with for boarding. Our ticket was number 20. We found somewhere to sit inside a terminal building until our number was called, sometime numbers were called over a tannoy, some were by these girls showing a number of fingers in the air! There was free water available in this building. When our turn came we boarded another bus and transferred to our ship, which we finally boarded at 1830!
Once onboard and unpacked in our cabin, we went to a bar for a drink prior to dinner. We had already purchased the basic drink package, but soon found that the quality of the wines available to us we not to our liking, so discussed at the Tiger Bar the upgrade on offer to the Premium package, which we agreed to and purchased.
Monday 3rd June. Requested a couple of glasses of Chablis from the Premium package, but advised that they didn’t have any!.I queried this as we were only just starting our cruise…then the bar manager took over my enquiry and found a case of Chabilis in the store behind the bar!
When at dinner, we requested Chablis and again told they didn’t have any, so re selected Chardonnay instead, I made mention to the waiter that I would like some red wine with my main course, but nothing materialised. My main course arrived and I repeated my request to the waiter about my red wine, so he asked me then which one would I like..I requested firstly the Bordeaux, but was advised that they didn’t have any, then I made a second selection but with the same response. At this point I was pretty irate after spending additional monies for products that the ship didn’t hold. I asked if there was a Sommelier on board and the waiter went away and the sommelier arrived at our table with a bottle of the elusive Chablis! From then on, the sommelier visited our table each evening to discuss what he could provide for us.
Tuesday 4th June. We went to the formal breakfast in the L’Edera restaurant. Unfortunately because of a new intake of passengers the night before in Bari, their evacuation drill took place between 0830-0930. In doing so the ship had closed off one of the lifts for this purpose so we encountered a long delay in a lift to stop at our deck (11) so we could travel down to deck 5. At the restaurant door the sign said that they were closing at 0930, we arrived about a minute before but were refused entry as too late. we explained the reason for the delay but access was still denied. Whilst we were still making our point, an Italian couple tried to enter, but were told the same thing. They however argued and entry was permitted for them but not us!
Lunchtime in the Sahara Buffet, we ordered some rose wine, handed over our cards in the normal way and the wine arrived a short time after. When casually looking at the receipt I noticed that the wine provided was the one from the Basic drinks package and not the Premium that we had paid for. Upon requesting another glass of rose with a different waiter, the same thing occurred. This led me to believe that the staff are instructed to undersell the cheaper products when they can.
Later that day I visited the Guest Services Desk and requested a meeting with the Guest Services Manager, An appointment was made for 1030 on Weds 5th.
Wednesday 5th. Our meeting with Jaida (Guest Services Manager) went ahead where we outlined our problems, from the changing of our cabin without notification, to the delays at Venice (which we stated that no apology was made or offer of any recompense for any outlays that we had encored during the 5 hour delay). The apparent lack of wines available on board, the bad service at dinner, the mis-selling of drinks..I provided 2 receipts and the bar price list as evidence. The refusal of admittance to Breakfast. I went further to say that I didn’t come on holiday for confrontations, yet it seemed I was having a battle to achieve what we had paid for on a daily basis, hoping the next day all would be ok.
All was written down and firstly I stated I would refuse to pay our gratuities at the end of the cruise, which was agreed on, Jaida then apologised for our experiences and wanted to change our opinions that we held of MSC so far, she felt that she could perhaps offer something else in way of an apology to ensure we enjoyed the rest of our cruise. WE NEVER HEARD FROM HER AGAIN!
Thursday 6th June. Nothing much to report apart from further underselling of drinks package in the L’Edera restaurant, which we reported to the manager on hand.
Friday 7th June. received some notifications with regard to disembarkation times etc for Venice on the Sunday, our time look incorrect as we had booked an earlier flight time. When checking our final documents received from MSC before we left UK…I now notice that our flights have been changed to a later departure without our knowledge or consent. I contacted our travel agent in the UK who in turn contacted MSC but apparently nothing could be done. At Guest Services Desk we made our complaint and our onboard account was credited with 100 Euros. I pointed out this wouldn’t cover a replacement taxi from LGW to our home in Wiltshire, but they advised us it was the maximum they could do onboard.
Sunday 9th June. We disembarked at 11.30 and was transferred straight to the airport where we arrived at 12.30 for a 17.30 departure!!
Conclusion… We didn’t expect this..and in general our expectations aren’t that high, but when time after time you experience problems, then you cant just let them pass.
My two major complaints come from the apparent total disregard to the MSC paying customer .
In our case, we booked our cruise in August 2018, being very particular on deck and cabin location and flight times that we were comfortable with.
Whilst I was surprised that MSC have the right to change at will flights, cabins etc without any discussion , I find it ridiculous that they make these changes effectively at the last minute.
We were expecting our documents 4 weeks prior to departure, yet after requesting them twice only received them 11 days prior to departure. At no time were the changes that MSC made highlighted to us, plus leaving the paying customer no chance to cancel the cruise if it did not suit.
This practice comes over as MSC are trying to catch the customer out, by blaming the customer for not double checking what they had bought and paid for.
MSC have since made inadequate responses to this complaint letter and subsequent follow correspondence, hence my review here

I and a friend was on MSC Meraveglia from 30 june to 7 july, if you DO go on these MSC cruises bring ear protection!! it awfully noisy EVERYWHERE, not only all the different cultures that have to talk very loud but there is music EVERYWHERE you cant enjoy the sound of the waves anywhere. the servants & cleaning staff was super nice thay do deserve the best rating!
Unfortunately on 5 july 2019 a person jumped into the sea, a shock for everyone the ship stopped but none of the life saving boats were placed in the sea, the ship waited for a helicopter and other boats came along to help rescuing the person. The cruise ship stopped for 3 hours but none of us were given ANY assistance to this tragic situation. I asked the reception if I could get 5 min. free internet acces to be able to inform my family that I was ok, but no I could buy the internet acces for 65 EURO!! it was the 2. last day of the cruise and the acces for 65 euro covers a week!
Its not the tragic event that result in my negative view of this cruise
but the way the receptionists have handled the several requests I had. Further more Check your INVOICE carefully they charged me for something I did not order!! so inacceptabel rude, well thats also a way to earn extra profit, and that is what the cruise is about Profit profit profit!! not YOU but profit!!
I must admit the shows were very good.

MSC seaview 13/04/2019
Was left to queue in the sun for over 2 hours to board the ship in Barcelona even after paying for priority boarding a total waste of money
Be prepared for long queues everywhere cold food with very small portions for the evening meals
very long waits for drinks and often ignored
They decide to shut 90% of the buffet in the afternoon when most people return from the day trips ?
Total disorganized of the shore transfers we were sent from one end of the ship to the other 3 times to get supposed ticket numbers to be the told we don’t need a number ? We went to get the shuttle and was asked for tickets OMG no one knows what’s going on
All they try and do is get more money out of you at every opportunity
In summary a poor experience from MSC

Just returned 28th Sept from 7 night cruise on seaview. Never Never Never ever again with msc.we have been on many cruises (royal carribean p&o ncl to name a few) but this was the worst experience we have ever had. There is nothing worth mentioning about the horrible food. One night we had booked for the theatre so we made sure we were first in the queue for dinner I told the waiter we were going to the theatre so we only had time for the main course.after twenty minutes I raised my hand to get his attention his reply to me was wait at this point we stood up and walked out. On two occasions we had to ask for tea bags because there were none put out and always a shortage of butter.

Does not even deserve one star - poorest and slowest customer I have experienced in my life - if I was you- and what I wish I had done over a week ago - I would go to another agent which represents MSC. These ones are for sure not worth doing business with (even if I was booking for 22 people-which is a big order also for them in one go)
Can see I am not the only one experiencing this

We booked directly with MSC on MSC Seaview and left from Barcelona on the 25th May 2019 for 7 days.
On the 1st day we complained about the very strong smell of urine/ Feces in our Cabin No: 15012, the response was to put a diffuser on the floor beside the toilet which made no difference , thereafter we complained every day and had no communication from the supervisor or anyone else in authority. That is totally unacceptable and unsanitary to expect people to stay in smelly rooms. On the Friday which is now 6 days after our arrival my husband saw the maid in the room and she finally agreed that on the Thursday there was a problem coming from the sink but again not fixed .We gave up that day and disembarked the ship in Palma as we couldn't stand it anymore. We talked to a senior member of staff who said she totally accepted there had been a failure by MSC and would we cancel the new flight we had paid for and stay on the ship and we could have a free massage or something. That was too little too late as we had put up with it since we got on the ship. We completed the disembarkation forms and were told we would be contacted by MSC, who did not contact us so I wrote a letter of complaint to them. We had to book flights and accommodation in Palma as we should have disembarked in Barcelona, MSC reply to our complaint said we should contact our insurers for that cost.......... Really !!!
I attended the Doctor on board with my sister on Tuesday the 28th where I was told to leave the consulting room by the girl who was assisting the doctor, my sister wanted me there and it is again unacceptable to be turned away when my sister was suffering from anxiety. I had to go back to the waiting room and wait however the door was not closed and myself and all the other passengers waiting for the doctor could hear the consultation taking place as the consulting room door was left open ( and 2 other officers were talking loudly undertaking an audit in the same room) . I am sure that this is in breach of every rule in terms of patient/Doctor confidentiality code of conduct.
The list goes on in terms of as bad as a cruise can get which range from very rude and unhelpful staff to poor choice and small portions of food. One passenger tried to get help for his sick wife telling one of the waitresses that she had something wrong with her heart and the waitress lifted her head and walked away from him, the ladies companions then carried the lady out of the bar lifting her arms over their shoulders presumably to try get help form someone else.
The announcements are aired through the ship in 4 different languages and go on through out the day. The safety demonstrations are every day because MSE have passengers embarking and disembarking the ship all along the route - they are totally shambolic and take place not at muster stations but in random venues like the casino.
MSC take your money and I can only assume that because they have your money they just don't care about you. I was told there were no other cabins available so had to accept it.
MSC offered us £135 off of another cruise which of course we declined because I would rather gouge my eyes out with spoons than go on another MSC ship.
Some of the ports are very industrial and are not worth getting off for because they are almost depressed areas with lots of homeless people drinking in the streets. In Palma they also pay for presumable the cheapest dock then the night before leave a sheet of paper with the cost to get into Palma which is £10.95 for a child seat on a coach into Palma and £12.95 for an adult, total disgrace.
We have been with Royal Caribbean and found them amazing value and service. My advice would be do not under any circumstances book with MSC as the experience is awful.

This was my first cruise so I have nothing to compare it with. However the group I was with were seasoned Cruise travellers and couldn't stop comparing.
How did I find it? Having travelled from UK in very cold environments (freezing coach transfer Manchester to London, then freezing cold flight London to Miami), I was extremely disappointed to arrive on the ship another ice welcome. I did not pack for this awful encounter. So if you are going on a Caribbean cruise please remember it's not all seaside and sun - ON THE SHIP. Luckily the cabin had temperature control, and I had to give thanks to god for that!!.
Registration was easy enough but as other cruisers have stated, there was some pressure to take up certain deals. Luckily my fellow travellers were able to protect me from this including not purchasing the extortionate drinks deal and the expected daily tipping charge. We promptly opted out and chose whom we wanted to tip.
I was advised there would be elegant evenings and so purchased appropriate garments, however this was a failure. Lots of miscommunication (delayed advice flyers) meant that we missed those opportunities. But also when we did dress up we found ourselves 'overdressed'. Lots of people on the first week of our cruise made very little effort turning up at the dinner sittings in shorts, t-shirt, and frankly clothes I could only consider wearing around the home in private. Very disappointing. However the second week was better I was prepared.
The review currently sounds negative but this wasn't my total experience. The food I found very satisfactory, there was a good selection ranging from fish and chips , pizza, to lovely Mediterranean or Indian cuisine; with a good range of vegetables and fruit. I was however horrified at the wastage from the cruisers. People piled their plates high and skipped from one delight to another after a simple mouth full. It was quite hard for me to watch. I have to say if you are dieting and care about your waistline cruising will be a challenge. We all put on weight!!
I want to thank Melvin Cubas and Maria from Romania (both head waiters for trying so hard to please us in the restaurant. We were difficult customers. Randy our stateroom attendant was wonderful. Picking up after us several times a day. It is not in my nature to expect others to pickup after me, but I was persuaded to try out the lifestyle of 'the other half'. As Mario De la Cruz pointed out when I returned home there really was no one there to' pickup my towel of the bathroom floor' but me; so thank you Randy for giving me a beautiful experience.
The ship is ginormous. A floating 19 floor apartment. I enjoyed my time on this ship and look forward to testing out another destination with them. Please however do ask your reception staff to smile more, and if they don't know the answer to something they should simply say they don't know and will find out rather than guess incorrectly.
The shows were amazing, so professional. I love musical theatre and have been to many. I felt the shows presented on MSC Seaside could stage on Broadway anytime. Thank you for the Michael Jackson performance wonderful way to end my holiday. Thank you to all the staff that worked so diligently to make my first cruise an experience I would be happy to repeat.

Travelled with MSC last October From Southampton to Genoa
The cruise was full of problems from Day One boarding process through to the disembark
Raised complaints with MSC just not interested still not resolved
Problems included poor quality food service etc
Down right lies regards access to free transport when in ports
Missed out Lisbon completely said National Strike in Portugal which was untrue as I was meeting friends who lived there and there was no strike
They have not answered this issue and ignore my proof
They offered a derisory discount on a another of their cruises as IF I would take another cruise with this company

My husband and I sailed on the MSC Seaview cruise in the Western Mediterranean from April 17 to 24, 2019. We have enjoyed dozens of cruises around the world on other cruise lines. This was our first time with MSC Cruises, and by far, it was the absolute worst cruise we have ever been on.
First, upon walking into our ocean view cabin (#5171) on the first day of the cruise, we were assaulted by the stench of the foulest sewer smell imaginable. The smell was inescapable - it permeated every corner of the room, it was on every piece of furniture, on the bedding, in the carpet, on the towels, it was everywhere. We reported this problem to customer service right away, but we were told there was nothing they could do, the ship was fully booked.
We had to live with this stench for the entire length of our cruise. The cabin had no windows or doors that could be opened to bring in fresh air. It became a serious health hazard for me. I developed migraines, I was severely nauseated, I vomited several times. My husband and I could not breathe at night and we could not sleep. Every day we reported this situation to customer service and each time we were told they could not do anything. On the fifth day on our seven-day cruise, a customer service supervisor used a chemical spray in the bathroom, which did nothing to get rid of the sewer stench. It only added a strong chemical smell on top of the awful sewer stench and it worsened my already poor health.
Second, MSC Seaview was woefully understaffed. With over five thousand passengers, the ship only had two customer service counters and a maximum of six staffers handling customer service requests. This created unbelievably long queues at the customer service counters and a lot of frustration among the passengers.
Third, we have never been on a ship that charged its passengers for drinking water during dinner or forced its passengers to buy bottled water. I understand charging customers for alcoholic drinks, but to treat drinking water like a luxury amenity on a cruise is beyond ridiculous. We have never encountered such a "nickel and dime" company such as MSC Cruises.
Fourth, for a ship that bills itself as "one the most innovative cruise ships touring the world," we found the onboard dining experience exceptionally subpar. At every meal, the food seemed to be jumbled together with no thought to presentation or organization. We've had better dining experience at our local McDonald's.
The bottom line is, our experience onboard the MSC Seaview was the absolute worst we've ever had on a cruise. We will never recommend MSC Cruises to anyone and we will never take another MSC cruise ever again!
