Took my Chrysler to the Kingston branch for a service. And Mot, had a good experience staff were polite and willing to help and the work was carried out on timely fashion.

i had my car booked in for a clutch replacement. After an inspection, I was informed that it was only the Master Cylinder that needed replacing and cost only half of the initial quote (which was cheap anyway). Work was completed within 3 hours. I'm sure some other garages would have just done the whole clutch.
A big thanks to all the team in Canterbury and David at the booking centre. I would definitely recommend.

It was time for the annual MOT. The online booking was extremely simple and convenient to use. On the day of the MOT I was kept informed by phone of the progress, and the identified fault was completed promptly so that the car could be picked up the same day.

Having lost my clutch on motorway and having to be recovered I was panicked, Brandon gave me a phone quote ( approx £300) less than several other places, he explained and arranged the process and car was done next day, the price was exact no "extras", and warrent etc explained, can't fault the service and exceptional customer service, will definitely be my first point of call for anything else needed, Thanks guys

I have used Mr Clutch in Stratton St Margaret for many years for my MOTs and have always found them helpful, friendly and efficient plus prices seem reasonable too.

On 29/08/2019 my car visited the workshop for a full clutch and release bearing replacement costing me £520, this price was the average on the quotes I received from various competitors such as Halfords and other nationwide garages. I chose Mr Clutch given the nature of the job needing doing.
When booking and arriving to the branch the service was good and the staff where friendly. I left the car expecting to have an update possibly the following day given the work involved in changing the clutch on this vehicle is relatively in depth, however, I was surprised to hear back just 4 hours after drop off to be told my car was ready for collection. Although impressive I was concerned as having done 8 years as a mechanic for Mercedes Benz (now in the armed forces) I'm aware of the type of delays and work involved in such job, and was aware of the compromise in qaulity this fast fit service could have.
On collection of the vehicle it was covered in grease and fingerprints and the inside of the car had been contaminated with gearbox oil leaving a strong smell for days. I am a reasonable person and given my history of working in the trade Im aware of the time strains technicians can be put under so I was willing to give the technician a break and overlook this poor finish.
Travelling home, the vehicle began to make concerning noises from under the car when moving, as anyone would, I pulled over to check for anything obvious. Looking under the car I found damage to my gearbox and a spanner left in the front grill/under the bonnet which in my experience is very dangerous to have objects free to move around the engine compartment, a good example being a metal spanner making contacts with battery terminals and auxiliary drove belts. A low standard of qaulity and workmanship.
I contacted the Portsmouth branch and explained the situation to which they denied any responsibility and said the car did not enter the workshop with the damage and did not leave the workshop damaged, meaning the damage (which wouldn't happen when driving) must have occured during the approximately 2 mile journey from leaving the workshop to when I pulled over to ivestigate the noise. They did not seem to care about the grease marks and oil contamination when when I addressed the issue which is unacceptable and extremely poor workmanship along with poor customer service. After much confliction over the phone that was not achieving anything the conversation ended and as a result I proceeded to contact Mr Clutch Head Office. For reasons like this, damage to a vehicle should be logged by the workshop before work commences to avoid any false accusations.
As requested by Mr Clutch Head Office, I went to take photographic evidence of the damage caused to my gearbox by Mr Clutch Portsmouth to begin the complaints process, at which point I noticed fresh oil on the floor which my vehicle was parked on and the driver's side driveshaft seal covered in transmission oil at which point I emailed the pictures and called Mr Clutch Head Office directly to bypass the the Portsmouth branch to discuss the oil leak.
This leak left me without a vehicle as I had travelled back to my base in Exeter 139 miles (278 mile round trip) away from Mr Clutch Portsmouth after the work had been carried out with a gearbox leaking transmission fluid, meaning I potentially would be driving without a lubricated gearbox causing further, irreversible damage along with the inconvenice this cause as it meant I would have to travel back to the branch costing £60 (£30 each way) in fuel on the unplanned trip along with occupying the little leave period I get at the weekend travelling and waiting at the branch for the work to be completed. I explained the above to the call operator at Mr Clutch Head Office to which I was told I would have to wait 10-14 days for a colleague to investigate which essentially left me stranded, at this point I asked to speak to someone with more authority who could advise me better on the situation but I was told such person does not exist.
Concurrently to this, Mr Clutch Head Office where 'investigating' the damage and grease concerns. At this stage I felt desperate for a resolution, I contacted the portsmouth branch to see what advise they could offer. They instructed me to visit the workshop and they would investigate the leak the following day, without any other choice I made the journey to Portsmouth. When I arrived the vehicle entered the workshop shortly after and cthey onfirmed the leak was from the driveshaft seal O/S and asked if I was happy to wait for the work to be carried out approximately 3-4 hours (again, left with no choice) followed with the cost of the work. This turned into a dispute as the garage expected me to front the cost of the repair of their mistake, however, when challenged it became very clear that Jason, the branch receptionist was aware that for me to have paid would have been wrong, he put up very little resistance and agreed to carry out the repair under 'good will' almost instantly, suggesting he was trying his luck in the hopes I would role over.
To no surprise, the work they carried out was incorrect. They managed to change the seal they previously damaged, however, neglected to even check the level state of the gear box oil when it was no longer leaking let alone top it up! The gearbox had been losing oil for 300+ miles at this point. At this stage I was exhausted with the branches incompetent attempts I took the car to a local garage for the gearbox oil to be checked to which it had lost 1/3 of it's capacity. In this situation it's fortunate someone knows what's going on and I seriously question if the men working on the cars hold any form of qualification to work on cars. This was explained to head office but again, and with no surprise, I got very little concern from the call operator.
After much confliction with Mr Clutch Head Office, they informed.me.they would no longer speak to me over the phone and all further correspondence must be in email form which is all very well for evidential purposes, however, I have not received a reply from the call operator Sarah-Jane.
Amongst the emails received from Mr Clutch Head Office are a long string of lies from them along with the attempt to convince me that because the damage to my gearbox does not interfere with it's function means it's admissable.
Given my experience working in the Motor Trade for 7-8 years and being a general consumer of a service this is absolutely shocking.

Mr Clutch at Southend on Sea is my local garage and I am very lucky that it is. They provide an excellent MOT and service and only recommend what really needs doing. Antonio always explains things simply without patronising and he is always polite and friendly. The prices are much more reasonable than the VW franchise garage.

I can't thank them enough and they were very reasonable cost wise I will not be going any where else from now on. Keep up the good work both of you.

I would give it no stars if I could, what a bunch of COWBOYS........
Car booked in for a MOT with a set time slot and told to arrive 10 minutes early to make sure I don’t miss my slot guess what over 40 minutes later still my car has not moved from the parking bay..........
Unless you have time on your hands which I don’t then think again there is a reason it’s £25 for MOT and they are not booked out with MOT’s.
My advice to save time and disappointment spend the extra £5 and go to Halfords next door, after all time is money and they keep to the booked time.
It should no take 2 hours to wait for a booked MOT time slot WHAT A JOKE......

Went first to Halfords to get a quote for a new clutch £900, Mr Clutch £500.
Took it in for a check Saturday, left the car with them as they were fully booked, told it might be a week before they could look at it, car returned 3 days later. Price as quoted, excellent service.

I would like to thanks the Crawley Branch, for the immediate assistance offered to fix my clutch.
Unfortunately my clutch failed for the first time (107525 miles on original clutch!) and after a panicky call to them, they were able to take the car straight away, and returned within 24 hours, and the car is running a dream.

DONT GO TO THE BRANCH AT WALDO ROAD Bromley, Kent. Avoid at all costs. They are incompetent and inconsisant with their MOT findings. They originally failed my Fiesta on a frayed seatbelt (chewed slightly by puppy). I bought another seatbelt & had in installed privately. Unfortunately I missed the 10 day time limit for a free re test but was prepared to pay another fee. I took it back in & low and behold the same examiner then chooses to fail it on suspension arm pin or bush excessively worn & wheel bearing rough. None of these faults were mentioned on the first test. I only drove back home & back to the centre. How come they are now such dangerous faults that were not picked up on the first visit? Or even mentioned on the advisory notice. The advisories that were mentioned in the first test weren’t even mentioned on the second test! My point is that the examiner appears inconsistent and this should be worrying.
