I wish they would be back, the connection with Alicante from London was amazingly easy, good prices and available at any day

I had the same experience on the Faro flight with Monarch last year with a disabled companion. Staff were most unhelpful. I wrote in and said that rather than spend money of T.V. advertising a little on staff training would stop them going bust. I wish they would. We were put at the back and not even asked to ago to the front, which would be impossible as everyone was standing up. Most unhelpful. Never travel with them again.
Similar in both directions. At Faro they were fantastic, even having a special vehicle to take you to the plane and lift you on to it. Wonderful.

Not a holiday company to be trusted by old age pensioner.
The accommodation are naver checked as we resentley had the experience in rhodes greece in the hotel called Achusa.
Very poor place as self catering apartments not even a smoke detactor in the apartment.
The owners not very help full.
No action taken or any help ftom Monarch holidays.
With our complaint we have been told to wait for an answer in 28 days.
But they did not wait 28 days to have their money from us retired couple.
Well done for cheating us with this.
We are here with proofs of our complaint if you contact us.
Plesecsend do not do this to retired people it is not very nice.

Firstly I HATE flying. Terrifies me. However I found the staff were lovely and very professional. We flew Gatwick to Faro and visa versa. I broke toe on holiday and they (for £20 :-/) gave me an extra leg room seat that turned out I had the whole 3 seats to myself. Staff were very helpful getting me on and off. Only gripe was plane was a bit basic so no film or food but you can buy something on the flight, I think that's probably because it was only a 2hr 50min flight so fair enough. Overall would use again. Smooth flight. Happy customer.

We have ALWAYS only used Monarch for our flights back and forth to Dalaman, only once have we ever had to complain, we paid for pre booked seats as we always do, but the seats was really uncomfortable both ways. I wrote to Monarch on our return only to be told the engineer had looked at the seats and said they were fine, I agree they looked fine but sitting on them for 5 hours they was not fine! One seat had a nylon cover on it that kept slipping and on our return flight both seats were lumpy and no back support. Considering we had paid a whopping £845 for a oneway flight we expected comfortable seats! We booked the seats in the UK and Monarch charged us in Euro's...why? it wasn't until my bank statement arrived I noted I had been charged over £23 transaction fee on top of what we had paid for the flights. Monarch 'as a gesture of good will' agreed to refund their error!! Well Monarch 'as a gesture of goodwill' we have booked 4 return flights for 2018 with your main competitor. I had to insist they refund the cost of our pre booked seats too, where is Monarch's once great customer service, long gone unfortunately. I have always recommended Monarch to all the guests who rent our villas in Turkey, 95% do book Monarch but I won't be doing this in the future as Monarch are now over priced, delayed flights and treat customers with disrespect...job well done Monarch!

Have been trying for 24 hours to speak to a 'human' on the customer services link without any joy. Asked friends at local travel office for assistance and they tried without success. Like Monarch but Customer Service telephone system stinks.

Came back from Malaga to Gatwick on 31.08.2017 (well eventually the flight departed Malaga on 01.09.2017). Flight No. 737. The cabin crew were absolutely wonderful and very down to earth, friendly and attentive. The young lady hostess was from the Chichester area and she was a diamond as I dont like taking off, she was very reassuring

Flight was changed, so fly out Manchester and then come back to Birmingham a week later and make my own way back to Manchester at my cost, when I rang they refused to give a refund as only 1 fight changed, also I would have to pay for the 250 mile round journey !!!!
Rang customer services and even though I book lots of flights with Monarch they said nothing they could do
Treated my wife and I like rubbish,
Please go to a nice airline and give these clowns a wide berth

Filthy planes. Terrible customer service. No reports of the complaints we raised on both flights so basically called me a liar. Took over 35 working days to respond to first complaint (once they found it, if they ever did find it) despite assuring 28 days response.

Having used Monarch for several years I have noticed the service going down hill, and the prices going up. This time, we only used them one way and a different carrier for the return. I paid for priority booking (not boarding, as that is different) I did it to avoid the queues at check in, as I'd printed my boarding passes beforehand. But when we got there (in good time) the queues for both priority and normal where the same, so no advantage, and I'd paid for the privilege to stand in line! When we got to the gate later, the staff didn't seem to know what was going on, total shambles. Got on, the plane hadn't been cleaned properly, the seats were uncomfortable, the staff were bored and seemed uninterested in the customers. This will be the last year we fly with Monarch Airlines. When I pay for 'service' I expect it. Not so-so interest. I urge you to go else where too. (overall score of 3.1? what does that tell you)

We arrived at Leeds Bradford airport on July 14th 2017 and we booked priority check in to allow more time at the airport but the priority lane was being used by other customers which should not be allowed as they never paid anything an we paid £6 per person. This was annoying an the Swissport staff for Monarch are very rude here,
After check in, we headed to security and got stopped for not taking electronics out of our bags which we were not told about. We booked fast track and probably would've missed our flight if we never booked this. At the departures the screens said Final Call - Gate 10 and they never started boarding yet. Again, Swissports fault I know.
Once aboard the Aircraft which was an Airbus A320 registered as G-ZBAP and had a lovely cabin and the crew was very helpful. The flight departed late as we never boarding until 5 mins before departure so we never left the gate until 5 mins after departure and took to the skies 10 mins later. The flight ran smoothly with wonderful crew and couldn't be more helpful. We even had to go around due to congestion so instead of landing at 19.50 (originally scheduled for 20.00) we landed at 20.04 at Tenerife South. As I live in Scotland, it is harder to get down to England and as Leeds Bradford Airport isn't one we'll be visiting for a while we will be going to Manchester and our next time flying from Manchester will be Monarch Well Done Monarch! Well Done!

I have just returned from a 2 week break to Madiera travelling with Monarch and suffered terrible panic attacks and fear of flying. The 2 cabin crew members Catt and Maria were so supportive and kind, they even made sure if they were not on the return flight they would inform the staff who were and let them know so i could enjoy my holiday.
They kept to their promise and the return flight crew made sure they helped.
My sincere thanks to Catt and Maria who said they were there for me and it was not just about the tea and coffee, they were outstanding and a credit to Monarch who should be proud to have them on their staff.
Unfortunately my phobia has become such that i do not think i will be able to fly again but Catt and Maria are a credit to their profession

Greedy company and a bunch of robbers, don't deserve one star at all. Tried to cancel the moment an error was made on booking form, would not let me cancel. Cancelled and blocked bank payment at time of error, and Monarch managed to re-obtain the money a day later without my authorization.

Huge thank you to every crew member of flight ZB909 Friday 11/08/17 from Dalaman to Birmingham. Your cabin crew and pilots went over and above the call of duty to help us with our autistic child when Birmingham airport let us down again. Thank you for your help, you have no idea how much that meant. Thank you all for your patience and humanity where others (Birmingham airport) seem not willing to help or understand. Monarch airways should be hugely proud to have such superb staff.

Flight to and from Palma-Gatwick. What lovely staff-attentive and kind. Ok, not how air travel used to be but they've obviously had to go the budget way as the competition have already gone but still by far THE VERY BEST out of all of the rest. The fact that I understand Monarch will be celebrating 50 years is testament to this. Thank you

I have not used monarch for years because they were neve on time. I am sat on board a monarch A321 with an hour delay because the pilot missed his slot due to the late cleaners. The pilot said it was also due to bad weather over the Bay of Biscay. Don't lie to us the person sat next to me is a pilot and he just checked and flying conditions are good. Never flying with monarch they can never get off on time. They missed their slot.

Myself and my husband travelled in May 2017 with Monarch on a regular sometimes twice yearly visit to the beautiful Lanzarote in Canary Islands. We have travelled with Monarch many times and have always found then helpful and like them as a holiday provider. I became ill with a back problem from the very first day of our holiday, thinking it was sciatica we visited Dr's and Pharmacy and I tried different treatments but my back just became worse each day. By our 4th day I had hardly left our apartment, couldn't go to eat and was regularly upset with the pain, our holiday was ruined so we decided we should try and go home to UK and get some good treatment asap. I called Monarch helpline at about 11.30 pm and spoke to a lovely young girl (unfortunately I never got her name) who was very empathetic and helpful. She advised she would look at my options and call me back within 20 minutes. She called back very quickly to advise we could fly home the following night - 2 days early, there was no extra cost and had also provided extra leg room which was a help. I can't thank this young lady enough and Monarch should be proud to have staff like her who helped one of their regular customers when I was really quite desperate. As for my back, I'm still off work and still having problems but I am very grateful to have got home when i did. I wanted to let others know my appreciation of such good customer service and I hope we will be booking another holiday in the near future with monarch.

After waiting till the under 24hours from flight time to book my Free seats they were allocated at random and although there was only two of us and plenty of seats that had not been allocated Monarch insisted we would need to pay a £9 fee each and each way to sit together. A total rip off con.
Will not fly with them ever again and just waiting for them to go bust as no one should be treated like this.

Friendly and efficient. No idea why ratings are so low for this company everything ran smoothly and on time. Apart from the guy being sick behind me and the staff refusal to throw him off (saracasm) no complaints.
