This company is an absolute scam. I sent my iPhone X to them purely due to the reason that I switched from three to EE and my old phone was just floating around. I received an email stating that my phone is listed as “blacklisted” which means they can’t return or pay a price for it. Their customer service team is absolutely horrendous, they haven’t stated the steps I will need to follow to retrieve my phone, I’m even beginning to think that my phone has been swapped or they are making this whole thing up. PLEASE AVOID USING THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!

Disgraceful. After sending my Galaxy Note 8 in to this joke of a company based on an online valuation of £300, I was contacted to say that my phone had scuffs, scratches and screen-burn so was only worth £30. Considering the phone was in pristine condition and had been in a case since I bought it not even a year ago, I knew this was entirely fictitious. Had it sent back and went to Vodafone who gave me £260 and said it was as new condition. Avoid these cowboys! They will just waste your time.

Sent a brand new Samsung S9 off to them and after a week without payment, I attempted to contact them using the phone number listed. After 48 unanswered calls over the 3 days, I e-mailed them demanding my phone back or I would take matters further. This prompted them to make me an offer of £120 less than their quote due to "scratches on the case and screen". As the phone had never been used, I knew this was a con. I demanded my phone be sent back to me immediately which they did within 48 hours. I then sent it off to Music Magpie who paid me the full amount within 72 hours of sending the phone off. Avoid these con artists like the plague.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
They offered me £112 for my 2 year old Samsung 6e. They acknowledged receipt of it the day after I sent it and paid £7 to send it. I heard nothing so sent an email on 14 Jan they did not acknowledge. Rang them today to be told that I had 10 days to respond to the offer of £11.20 and as I hadn't they have paid me the low offer. I said I hadn't received the email they said that virgin media was a problem for them and it had probably gone into spam email. I asked for them to send to my bt internet and they said they and talk talk were both problem emails for them. I asked for my phone to be returned and they said too late it's been recycled as you didn't respond. Do not use this appalling company. If you do manage to get an answer when you ring them they are extremely rude and unhelpful in fact they are dismissive.

Was offered £207 for Huawei Mate 10 Pro 128GB with screen protector fitted in good condition.
Got paid £155 as according to them,
"Phone has discoloration on the corner of the bezel."
I will use the Magpie next time!

DO NOT USE, absolute dishonest clowns, I sent a near perfect S7 edge to them and they emailed me back a low offer because of fine scratches on the screen and some light screen burn on the white start up screen.
The fine scratches could only be seen if you looked at it close up, the phone always had a case so it was like new, the white screen burn didn't even exist, reading the reviews from other people it seems they pull the screen burn trick quite a lot so I got the phone sent back and used Samsung recycling service and I received more money than MCM after their low ball offer.
Samsung paid up in full and no mention of scratches or screen burn so do not use MCM they are pure rip off merchants.

DO NOT USE!!
I was really very disappointed.
I recently sent them my mobile phone in perfect condition but I found their services to be quite appalling. They emailed me back once they had received it stating it was all scratched, blurred screen and wear and tear. The phone had neither of these things and was in very good condition. In fact it is like new. I feel they have wasted my time and are not a company I will be dealing with again nor will I be recommending them to anyone!! THIS COMPANY NEEDS REPORTING!!

AVOID! Was selling my 2 year old Samsung Galaxy S6 as had it up graded. Never had any issues with the phone. Never dropped, scratched or damaged as was in a cover from the day of purchase. Was offered £83.20 on online appraisal. Sent phone off to only receive a response telling me phone was only worth £8.32 (they claimed there was scratches on the bezel and screenburn. Find this hard to believe as the screensaver kicks in within 30 seconds, so talking utter rubbish!!) Requested phone back and took it to Cex where we were offered £80 as it was obvious phone was in perfect working order with no damage. Do NOT use this company. They clearly want to rip you off!!!

They offered £85 for my Galaxy S6. I had screen covers for the front and back for the 2 years I had the phone, and it was in great condition. I also took photographs of the front and back screens before I packaged the phone as proof. Gleaming, like new.
Sent the phone to mobile cash mate. They said it had 'dents and scratch marks' and offered me £8 !
A disgrace, plain and simple. They misrepresented the true condition of this phone to lower the price unacceptably. Scam of the highest order.
Do NOT go near them. You've been warned.

The worst service I’ve used so far! I was quoted a £95 price and because my phone had dents (which took them over a week to figure that out), I was given a £10 offer for my iPhone 6... now I have to pay £5 to get my phone back.

Had my confirmation that they received my iPhone 7 on the 30th November. After still hearing nothing I emailed to ask what was happening, in which I had this response on 4th December...
I am very sorry for the delay in processing your order, we aim for devices to complete inspection within two working days from confirmation of receipt. However, we are currently experiencing a delay due to a large volume of parcels we have received. This has unfortunately extended our processing time to a minimum of four working days. If you have not received an offer email by the close of day on Thursday, please let me know and I will contact our warehouse to prioritise your device for inspection.
Thursday evening comes, still heard nothing. Assuming they don’t plan on getting back to me at all and if they do they’ll have dropped my quoted price right down.
This money was going to be used for some Xmas shopping but I doubt I’ll even have it back in time!!
Avoid at all costs. Dreadful service. Dreadful company

I was offered £190 in store by Carphone Warehouse when upgrading my phone. When I picked it up their machine was faulty so couldn’t take my phone as a trade-in. I looked on the web and found good old Mobile Cash Mate. They offered me £217 so I sent it to them via special delivery. Once received they then offered me £162 on the basis that there was damage to the back of the case and the screen. There were some small speckles of paint missing from the back but absolutely no damage to the front. This was totally made up. I asked for a breakdown of their valuation and their fault-finding but they ignored this. I rejected their paltry offer and had the phone sent back to me. I then took it back to carphone warehouse and the guy said it was in mint condition and he couldn’t believe the screen was in such good condition. I got £190 as promised.
Don’t be tempted by MCM’s alluring offers. They are just chancers and rely on people going along with the “re-evaluation” as they can’t be bothered to resell it or that it’ll get damaged when returned.
Avoid like the plague and opt for a reputable purchaser.

Do not use this company. I work in marketing and understand entirely how important online reviews can be to the success or otherwise of a business and am cursing not looking at their reviews until after I sent my phone to them. Big mistake.
I sent an immaculate iPhone 7 to them and, once received, was advised that they would knock £50 off the offer price due to screen scratches. Lots of people I would assume just agree because they can't be bothered with the hassle of having to arrange alternatives but out of principle I asked for the phone to be returned (and paid another £10 for the luxury to get my own phone back).
Luckily the phone was returned (and is still in immaculate condition) and has since been traded in to O2 who honoured their offer price without any issues.
Please avoid. I rarely / never feel compelled to write negative reviews as I know full well how detrimental they can be to a person's business but was so cross on this occasion I didn't want anyone else to fall foul of what are clearly shady business practices. Avoid.

I should have been able to tell that this site was poor when it sent me a ‘free’ postage label, but only guaranteed for value up to £50 when they offered me £133 for my phone. They then kept it 2 weeks and revised the offer to£73 due to alleged scuff marks, white screen and not genuine Apple screen - see other reviews. Took them one week to return it. Offfered £127 elsewhere. Do not use this company.

They send you a freepost envelope for your phone, but never any payment ( or only a fraction of the phone's value). It will never be what they have quoted in your initial contact with them.
My contacts with them I have never received ANY payment at all.
Simpler and better to just go to a charity shop or sell on e bay ( if an expensive phone)

DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE.
Sent them my Iphone 7 plus with an online offer of £245, offer after inspection and testing came back at £183 with the comments of "pressure marks on a white display" & a few light marks on the housing. Since the day that I received the phone new it has been in a case with a screen protector on it. Cost me another £10 to get it back from them for insurance purposes which is an absolute joke as it only cost me £7 to send it to them. Promised for before 1pm Monday delivery, will wait and see what happens. I really don't have a warm feeling on this one as I don't know if it is my phone that is coming back to me and will it be packaged securely.

Same experience as others. Was offered £146 for a iPhone 6s 64gb online. They said the phone was covered in above avarage scratches ( which it definitely is not ) the phone was bought by me direct from apple and kept in a cover since day one! They then proceeded to offer me £80 for the device. Which of course I rejected. This is a absolute con company avoid at all cost. Awaiting the return of my phone. It took them 6 days from receiving my phone for them to send me a poor deducted offer!

You will regret it because they are SCAMMERS we sent off an excellent condition Samsung Galaxy S8 a few weeks ago they has offered online £251.00 then sent an email offering £188.00 a £63 drop for chips that weren’t there. We declined and demanded the phone back! They weren’t very happy and expected us to accept their ridiculous offer. Stay away from this company!!

I used mobilecashmate to recycle a Samsung Galaxy S8. The phone was in ‘like new’ condition as I had just had it repaired by my phone insurer and it was protected with bubble wrap when posting. They never sent me emails confirming receipt of the phone or a cash offer. I had to call them several times to ask for an update. When I made contact, they offered me much less than the original quote, claiming that there were light scratches on the back of the phone. I said it was unacceptable offer and requested that they post the phone back to me. Almost two weeks later I had to call again to ask why I hadn’t received the phone, and they advised me that they had mistakenly still recycled the phone. They still didn’t meet the original quote and left me no choice but to take a reduced amount. They claim that they had been sending me emails since receipt of the phone, but this seems strange considering it is the second time using mobilecashmate, and I did receive emails the first time (they didn’t meet the quoted amount the first time either). I won’t use them again and urge everyone else not to either.

Would be no stars if I could. Advertised £116 for a phone and then when I sent it off, costing £7.30p, they offered me £15. I am waiting for it to be returned. Someone really needs to contact Trading Standards about these bandits, they shouldn’t be allowed to trade. Just so you know - I got £85 for my phone from music magpie, no quibbling and post paid from them.

Absolute joke of a company.
They lure you in with high-value prices, saying "you could get this for your phone" then they make up crappy excuses saying "there are scratches and scuffs" so offer you 10% of what they originally offered you. Most people can't be bothered and accept the crap value - and that's exactly what they want. Absolutely shameful company.

Sent them my Galaxy S8 Plus, they quoted £266 then dropped it to £199 because it apparently had some scratches on the screen and scuff marks on the body. Total bs, the phone was in brilliant condition. I rejected their offer and am now waiting to get it back. I will send it to O2 instead. Just annoyed that I didn't review this before like i usually do, was in too much of a rush to get it all done. You live and learn. UPDATE: got my phone back and sent it to Envirophone got the price they quoted within a couple of days from sending it.
