- charges for failed texts
- 10-50% of texts do not deliver, the company acknowledges it and says its not their responsibility to deliver the sms but sending it.
Clearly a good number of people running this company out there seem to be believe it's legal and living in their own fantasy world.

I wish there is is 0 * rating to select.
Appalling company. Several SMS were failed and the company says they are entitled to charge for failed deliveries because they are not responsible for the delivery. Refused to refund top-up too.
Should be reported to the regulators.

A bit slow to answer. Start a conversation with them and they take 30-45 minutes to reply.

The experience is not great at all. I found out that I cannot send SMS to USA, Canada and a few other countries until I get an approval from them. They have swiftly rejected my request without asking for more information. They "believe" that my account may be connected to fraudulent or spam-related behavior. From believing to actual knowing is a long way. Hope to get my refund and move away from them.

Beware of this company. I recently sign up for messagebird
1. They promptly ask you top up to purchase their service
2. Immediately you topped up, they flagged your account for security reason and ask you to answer their questions within 24 hours, else they will close your account.
3. Live chat was not working, neither email is responsive. Even after i replied immediately within the hour i received the email, they did not respond days later. They were responsive when they ask you to make payment and get your money.
It is utterly unethical for a company to ask for new users to top up and get hold of their money and flag their account, even though it is your company policy. Your company should be verifying users information first which most companies do before accepting any payments. And, the minimum of top up is $25, not $1.
Imagine anyone who was advised by your staff promptly to top up first and they went ahead with $100 and got flagged for security out of nowhere and you guys start to be unresponsive. I have the email and screenshots to show on how the staff responded and promised to respond few hours later but there were no response days later after i contacted via live chat.

Really great experience so far, they've helped get our company WhatsApp business API approval so we can utilise this in production. Support wise, fantastic and prompt all round.

informed by my mobile provider that the premium text I had been charged for came via a number that charges for you clicking on a link you click.
No warning given that this is going to happen and apparently there is no way you can tell which sites/link charge in this way. when I checked number it came up as being MessageBird. If it is them that are providing this 'service" to companies they should be ashamed

Terrible message delivery. Up to 20% of messages are not delivered.
Even sending messages to incorrect numbers is subject to a fee.
Unexpectedly on Friday evening they demanded to update the bank card data. I've been paying from this card for several months by subscription. I have been authorized by the card, but this site has refused to confirm the card. On Saturday I ran out of money on my account. Until Monday, there was no way to solve the problem and the messages were not delivered.
The support was quick (the same day), but it didn't help in any way.

Our experience is still pretty limited, but up until now the support from the messagebird team has been excellent. Thank you.

Unusable service and no refund. Their Irish number was receiving SMSs, but the characters were chinese (crazy characters). Their support acknowledge the problem, but refused to provide refund.
For £15 that I paid, refusing a refund says a lot about a company.

Same with other reviews for companies that were rejected for compliance issues, I am a startup using another service, wanted to try their service, got an email from customer support asking for additional information about the company and i should provide those answers within 24 hours. All the information they wanted was answered and I sent more details about the the startup, more than required.
We are in marketing/customer support space, not spam and not fraudulent services. Got another email asking for the information again. We provided that one more time but no reply until now. They charged my credit card and waiting on their approval.
As a developer you cannot play around with their quickly, they need 24 hours to check your credit and you cannot access phone numbers etc quickly to see if the service is even worth your time without their weird compliance process. Waste of time on this one.
There are many services out there. I decided to give them a try after reading about their recent round of funding and they talked about how great of a service they are. I think just general startup PR but internally still needs a long way to get to the likes of other services.

Unimpressed so far... we are a small business and have around 4,000 opt-in contacts. We decided to sign up with MessageBird and uploaded just under 900 contacts to test the response rates first.
After waiting a while for payment to 'process'...(in this day and age!) we then compiled a campaign and clicked on the 'send' button - great we thought, we should see actions within the next few minutes at least, but no... we sent our SMS campaign at 13:24 and it's now 15:55 and still hasn't sent!
It states 'sent' on the campaign report, but when drilled into it's still in 'buffering', no info on their site anywhere about what this means and no support at weekends - really? We're a small business and provide support 7 days a week.
Now i'm concerned that it will be released at some stupid time like nighttime and we'll get complaints from customers...

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There are much better platforms out there and even though they are a bit pricier, they are worth it. I sent my payment and had to wait 2 days to get rejected even though our company fulfilled all required conditions. Very bad experience.

I signed up with MessageBird last week, uploaded some of my contacts, made a payment (through PayPal) and thought I was "good to go" but no, AFTER I paid, the site said I needed to answer more questions, which I did ... then asked me to pay for a number, but I could not because "there were compliance issue". I asked what the compliance issue were and never got an answer ...just some "canned" responses from the online help.
Message bird send me an email asking me the SAME questions I already answered.
And, like always, feel free to reach out to us with any additional questions
Then Kativa says:
I am afraid, we can't do anything here. Due to security issue our compliance team refunded your credits.
But still no answers...
So we go round and round again! I am not sure where the disconnect is with this company and I am new to this but REALLY ... it should not be this difficult.
Then they sent this:
"Your request for sending messages to the following countries has been rejected: Canada, Denmark, Malaysia, United States of America, New Zealand. We have reason to believe that your account may be connected to fraudulent or spam-related behavior. If you believe this has happened in error, you can reach out to us"
So I reached out on chat but got nowhere: I am a simple "non-Profit" informing volunteers in my own city of upcoming events... but according to MessageBird this is "fraudulent spam".
Maybe my project was too small to matter to this company. My son is a marketer and he helped me set up the cvs. file and I was really excited about not having to text over 100 people individually each week, so this was a first time and VERY disappointing experience. I rarely write negative reviews but the online "chat" help was so rude and unhelpful and the repetitive nature of their questions was out of line with a professional company.
So be careful about wasting your time with this company.
I did find EZ text and they were amazingly helpful and I got my messages out within the hour.

MessageBird has shown a lot of dedication and follow-through while we were investigating opportunities in hard to reach countries. They've far over performed the behaviour we're used to and therefore deserve the 5 stars!
