This company is a cheat and fraud company. They are illegaly storing credit card details and continue taking out money even when i have removed them.

If you love your business, don't do ANYTHING with Melbourne IT.
I've worked with cartoon characters with better technical aptitude.
It has taken three weeks to do some DNS changes that took me, literally, five minutes to do with GoDaddy and it is STILL not complete.
Institutionalised incompetence. Phone personnel blatantly lie to this customer. Offering bribes has actually helped (didn't have to pay it though).
"Accidentally" getting hung up on (might have been a technical glitch) and then being told a completely different story about the problem when I call back.
Current Story :
Their DNS upload process has been broken for three weeks is what they told me today.
I have offered to drive there and teach their engineers how to fix it for free.
If I could just get my DNS updated I could move to a new registrar.
A bunch of incompetent snakes.

Without doubt, the most incompetent bunch of people I've ever dealt with. Called back 5 times because they kept losing me on transfer as they played "this isn't my job" I'll transfer you elsewhere. They make renewing a domain IMPOSSIBLE.

This is the worst company to do business with. They are located in Australia. Microsoft, the arrogant company that they are, stopped hosting domains about 3 or 4 years ago and transferred our domain to this company. It is so hard to get support with the time difference and even when you call them or communicate with them, they are very stiff and inflexible and very slow at responding to your inquiries. Avoid doing business with these guys at all cost!

To quote a colleague today (after 1.5 years of initially waiting for improvement and then migrating close to 2k of services):
"MIT couldn't organise a pissup in a brewery let alone updating [required service for client's NameServers to function]"
I even opened a ticket this week to say a different reseller of theirs (through TPP Wholesale) couldn't move a domain away from us because they had left it in our account after we moved it. They "REJECTED" the ticket.

Avoid this organization completely. Trying to get support very hard work, in particular with assistance in cancelling my account. Cancelled my account on their website using correct procedure but they still charged my debit card despite sending me an email confirming cancellation. Tried to contact them to resolve the issue but they would not respond. Had to go to my bank in the end to resolve the issue and get a refund. Bank said they had acted fraudulently. Most reviews I read are negative with similar experiences - DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED.

These guys sell .com.au domains for $168 odd for 2 years and the wholesale price is only $16 for 2 years, other companies like Crazy Domains sell .com.au at retail for $38 for 2 years!
My wife's domain had lapsed by a few days and we wanted to transfer it to Crazy Domains, Melbourne IT refused to transfer it unless we first paid $89 to renew it, AUDA the governing authority advised me that what they were trying to do was wrong, nothing had to be paid to Melbourne IT to transfer the domain.
Melb IT customer service was rude and got narky when I stated I had spoken to AUDA and said they did not know what they were talking about (this is the governing body for .com.au domains!).
In the end got it transferred with help of the new company and AUDA and absolutely NO HELP from Melbourne IT.
Never again will I do business with Melbourne IT or any of its subsidiaries!
