How am I suppose to do a rating for something I didn’t receive or receive a tracking number for? Tried contacting the company and had to call 3 different numbers and finally when I got to speak with someone all I got is to call in morning to speak with someone on the morning shift. Is it so hard to get a tracking number or an answer to what is the status of my purchase.

Moving from the Midwest to So Cal meant trying to find beef that compared to what we left behind. The skirt steaks rival the best I had access to in Chicago, and the brisket was, by far, more tender than any I have made before (and, I have made many....). In addition, the Scottish salmon is amazing. I will definitely continue to purchase from Meat the Butchers. The quality, butchery and ease of ordering/delivery make it a win-win.

I’m happy with the delivery and the quality of the meat you can really taste the dry aged in the meat. I’m not happy with the packaging, I would appreciate if they can vaccume each peice of meat separately and label them, and cover the sharp bone so it won’t penetrate the plastic and it lose its air. The meat taste good I’m happy with it next time I order I’ll request specific packaging.

Bye bye Christmas Eve dinner! I still don’t have my order, so my comments are about the lack of customer care, communication, and service. I placed an order well in advance for delivery on Dec 21. On Dec 20, I had t received a shipping confirmation, and the dashboard said “suspected fraud.” I was having my order shipped to my Christmas family destination, and although Amex recognized the charge (& their software is likely better that Meat the Butchers), no one from the company had bothered to call. When I called, I was told “Oh _ we were just going to call you to confirm” Maybe - but there’s more.
Friday - Fedex updates tracking to now show a Monday, Dec 24 delivery by 8pm. Way too late since we were going to serve the prime rib for Christmas Eve dinner. I received no call explaining what went wrong. I called for the airport as I was traveling out of state, and “ Melissa” tells me she has to transfer me to someone else. No apologies. She puts me on hold for 6 minutes, and then transfers me to her VOICE MAIL! Seriously.
I have to call back, and now manager Victor tells me that Fedex never picked up orders on Thursday night. They’re trying to figure out what happened, and trying to get a delivery on Saturday, but no guarantees. As I express my anger and frustration, Victor tells me that I seem to be “bashing” him.
I explain the following:
- I spent $250 on beef that won’t arrive in time for dinner, so I’ll have to run all over a town I don’t know trying to find a substitute to cook for Christmas Eve. A refund won’t solve that mess.
-Don’t just blame Fedex. Their first rep didn’t bother to call about the suspected ‘fraud”
- The second rep heard the problem and never once said “I’m so sorry” or “I apologize- let me see how I can help”. She transferred me to her voice mail - essentially hanging up on me.
- any company dealing with perishables and time sensitive deliveries light to have contingency plans. They ought to have the phones # for their Fedex rep and as soon as the time passed for pick up should have been on the phone. They could have driven their products from their Vernon store over to Santa Fe Springs CA to the Fedex facility, or tendered to UPS.
I’ll be spending tomorrow trying to find a rib roast for dinner. Maybe my order will show up Monday, maybe not.
I still have no email apologizing, even though they know the order was screwed up. They claim I’ll get a refund, which likely Amex will have to help with.
Maybe their meat is great. But their empathy and concern for customers is horrible, based on my interactions with 3 separate representatives. There are plenty of other high end meat companies, and I’ll never trust these guys with another order. Totally stressful and awful experience.

Everything was very high quality and the steaks were large, thick and delicious. I wa surprised that the steaks were frozen solid upon delivery. However, they thawed wonderfully in the refrigerator over 24-hours and then we grilled them to perfection. Everyone that partook recommended we order from Meat the Butchers again.

I have both emailed and then called meet the butcher four times. I have been put on hold and then connected to an extension for Jackie, which was never answered. There was no option of leaving a voicemail with Jackie, and over those days of calling all I wanted was a gift certificate I could give the person for whom I purchased the $150 gift. I have not heard back so I have left messages with the operator to please have someone call me. Conservatively, I have spent over an hour trying to contact people. I am still waiting to ask someone for the gift certificate I need for under the Christmas tree

Meat the Butchers continues to provide first class meats. My husband loved his dry aged Tommyhawke steak! Delicious and tender!! Tonight we are preparing their duck! My son is here visiting and in for a treat! It’s not on the website, but you ask them for it and you will receive the best tasting duck you could ever have!

Meat The Butchers consistently sells tha absolute best meat I can buy. No matter where I shop, I simply cannot duplicate the flavor and tenderness of their beef. I’ve paid more at a local farm to table type butcher shop who cater to people who require a higher quality product, only to be really disappointed in the flavor and/or tenderness. It’s not worth it. I know if I want good stuff, I buy it from MTB. Great job guys!

The best. Prices are reasonable. Quality is superb. Shipping is a bit pricey but understandable to get the best quality of what you're buying. Recommended MTB everytime someone asks where to buy quality steaks. Anyone hesitant on buying from them need to follow them on Instagram at @meatthebutchers and see for themselves the quality, care, and precision of their craft. 10/10 will order again.

I was a meat cutter for 33 yrs and know good meat when I see it and taste it, since Vons and Albertson’s are my only choice for meats where I live on the central coast I decided to give Meat The Butchers a try, I got the prime tomahawk and it was amazing! And will diffidently order again, it was delivered when they said it would be and in great condition. Thanks so much

Ordering was easy. Product was great. Getting tracking information from customer service was unexpectedly hard to get. Customer service didn't provide clear information and written response was written at a 5th grade level. Tracking is especially important when dealing with perishable products so that needs to improve.
