Awful program that makes your computer more or less useless.

No I do not recommend. Macaffee became corrupt and blocked my computer for two days until I figured out. Once removed all worked fine. Their uk helpline has no one to answer the phones. I waited 25 min then gave up. I installed karspersky to clean files corrupted by this programme. Maybe they are not looking after their products well, or their customers, it appears.

Looks like they no longer support Windows Vista but still renewed by subscription. Unable to login to account on Vista, and the one support document they have requires download of a file which is a 404 Page Not Found. Why not just be honest and say you don't support Vista any more? Not a trustworthy company.

They took an automatic renewal 30 days ago then today I get an email telling me my subscription is expired and I need to renew it urgently. You cannot respond to the renewal email and they have no contact emails on their website or on the help pages. Seems the only way to contact this "high tec " company is by premium rate phone line, where the current wait time is 7 minutes.

i wish i could give this con company a negative 5 star review. im writing this review to warn others of absolute fraud. a year ago when i was forced to purchase mcafee virus and spyware progam( it came stock on my laptop and computer froze and would not work untill i paid for mcafee) at the time of purchase i disabled the auto renewal. i noticed on Monday the 7th of october my bank account had been overdrawn i checked into it and found that mcafee had withdrawn 69.00 from my account. i did not authorize or consent to this charge in anyway shape of form. i called mcafee to get refund and was told that conveniently for the company at the time i disabled the auto renew that there must have been an eror with their website and that it didnt go through.they denied me a refund. i reported the fraudulent transaction to paypal and they denied my refund saying that it was a part of the auto renewal, when in fact it was not , i had disabled it.i called my bank and reported it as a fraudulent charge, they put a stop payment on the transaction and are currently investigating. THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE SEWED INTO OBLIVION. I have done some looking on line and found pages and pages of complaints on the b.b.b.( better buisness burrow), and that the company has also been abusing the personal including financial information of its customers. BEWARE . i would like to see a class action lawsuit brought against these croooks.

avoid McAfee at all costs. I have been debited £90 from my account without my consent. I called them up and they said that I had clicked autorenewal on my account. This is a total lie as I am sure I will never do this on any service. Then, the agent offered me a discount of £45 and i did not accept it and his final offer was £24. Of course the answer was NO NO and NO. this is a rip off and a dodgy company. I will have to go to my bank to raise this as fraud and block them from my account.

PayPal and McAfee are conspirators together to scam users of their products. I concur with all other reviews these conglomerates are thieves and robbers. I received an email reminding of my renewal and they had an offer for two years $209aud but they also did an automatic renewal for $264aud. Spread the word and avoid these companies like the plague.

Like so many others here I suffered from the same auto renewal nightmare. They give no warning and take your money. There is no easy way to cancel subscriptions. The best solution I've found is to remove all payment methods and ensure any cards they previously used are cancelled. Why? Because they make it as difficult as possible to contact a company representative to properly cancel subscriptions. I'm still receiving emails saying they cannot charge my card for my auto renewal even though their own customer portal states I have no products up for renewal. It's clear this company has no future and are resorting to desperate measures to keep revenue coming in. Avoid all McAfee products. They won't be around much longer with this service offering.

McAfee offers good quality security solutions for consumers and businesses. For example, I use McAfee SECURE for my website. My experience using McAfee's solution is decent.

I purchased a special offer for one year subscription with McAfee. They took two payments. I rang them and asked what has happend. They told me I had gone to their website on one day and also on the previous day to purchase the product. I asked them why if I purchased the product twice on two occasions why did I receive only one email and not two? As I work in software what I believe they did was to write it into the software to randomly pick people to charge twice hoping they will not notice. If only half of the people get a refund, easy money! Will not deal with them again! Also at the time of writing refund not back in the account.

Appalling. They took my subscription twice last year and ignored my request for a refund. Didn't even get a reply. This year I cancelled the auto renew but they still managed to take the money because I'd paid twice last year. Again have had no response to two emails. This is theft as far as I am concerned. Of course I've cancelled but no refund in sight.

To start with and to reflect authenticity in my review, I will share the McAfee actual service request number. 2656423954 for the issue I had with them.
I have been a customer with McAfee for almost 15 years renewing subscription for McAfee Total protection year on year. Last renewal was in September 7, 2018. For some reasons, I was led to subscribe for McAfee LiveSafe (109.99 GBP). 3 days later (September 7, 2018), I received a notification to download McAfee Total Protection (109.99 USD). Yes, in a different currency. I found that I have 2 subscriptions a year later when I accidentally was checking history of my bank statements.
I communicated with them for almost 2 months:
• McAfee Customer Services failed to explain to me why they made me download 2 products when only ONE of the products is enough.
• They never notified me of a double installation and went ahead double charging me. I have found out myself almost 1 year later (July 2019) of the double charge.
• McAfee Consumer Refunds, eventually agreed to refund me in full for one of product (McAfee LiveSafe). This is an excerpt from an email they wrote to me on August 19, 2019 confirming the refund: "..We understand that you requested a refund.... an amount of 109.99 GBP.... This refund will be credited to your bank account in 3 weeks...".
• However they refunded me part of the amount. I wrote back requesting the remaining amount in Australian currency (AUD 60.29).
• From that point onwards, McAfee Consumer Refunds appeared to be ignoring my communication.
• When I persistently followed up on it, they resorted strictly to telephone conversations instead of emails.
• They phoned me requesting, for comparison purposes, to email them the 2 transactions from my bank statement, displaying the original debited amount and the recent credited amount. Transactions were emailed as requested showing clearly that amount has not been fully refunded.
• When 3 weeks went by without a response, I wrote to them requesting an answer then they woke up to phone me and tell me that they are not refunding any more money. Their justification was that according to their ‘system’ that's how much they should refund. Despite explaining to them that my bank statement - which they requested - states otherwise and besides it was McAfee problem in the first place to allow the double installation hence the double charging.
• I requested McAfee Consumer Refunds to send me in writing their reason for not fully refunding my money. They refused without providing any convincing reasons, something I found quite bizarre for a global and reputable company such as McAfee®. I wrote to them again requesting a rationale for the partial refund. They ignored me. My guess, the reason for partial refund, was to cover administrative refund cost for mistakes they made themselves.
I honestly had a miserable experience with McAfee. Be careful. Never allow auto renewal. It took 1 year for me to find that hey doubled charged me. Always check your bank statements. McAfee MyAccount Dashboard is misleading allowing users to download multiple products which does the same thing.
McAfee, perhaps a trusted software, but they have the worst middlemen, low standard customer services with poor communication and tricky billing system all together causing significant damage to the brand.
I told customer services, I will cancel my subscription, they seemed to be indifferent and brag about the fact that McAfee is the "Award-winning Virus Protection"... Well.. good luck.. good bye!

Had an auto-renewal payment come out which was significantly more than when I signed up to the service, cancelling the renewal was easy but trying to get a refund I was passed between 3 different departments, on hold for 30 mins total.
It is very difficult to find contact details on the web to contact them directly.
Getting a refund was an arduous process with the last operator wanting a list of every device I use and what anti-virus is used on each.
Based on this experience I would look at other similar services first in future

Just started with McAfee because it came with my new HP. Started getting websites that wouldn't load it was peculiar because they were all websites that were my business or that were associated with my business.I ran scans, checked all my devises and concluded on my own it was a modem or IP issue, I called Century link and they sent out a technician who agreed and gave me a loaner modem, but the problem still was evident. I called McAfee because it seemed coincidental that it happened when I got my new PC. The Technician there did a remote with me and spent the good part of an hour. finally he ran tests not related to his software and found the IP issue and repaired it ! This clearly was not related to the McAfee software but he went the extra mile and repaired the problem!
Thanks McAfee and thanks Sam especially
Good service is hard to find

McAfee reel you in with their 1 year offer at a reasonable price. But you have to read the small print because you have been put on an auto renew. I signed upto $60. Then I get billed $160 the next year automatically. Any Auto-renews are made to entrap and its shocking business conduct for a company of this size. You got me this time McAfee but never again.

I wish there would be a way to warn people and give this program negative points. We had McAfee for years, until about 3 years ago when our renewal had a problem downloading. We contacted support, which was outsourced. Agent couldn't handle it so passed it on to supervisor. Once he took over all of our finance programs were moved on our desktop. We shut down our computer immediately and enrolled in credit review program and reported it to our banks, who did NOT trust McAfee either, saying many of the countries they outsource to are not held to the same standards we are and are very difficult to prosecute.

Got McAfee with my laptop. Tried to renew subscription and paid for it. Then followed instructions and it kept on asking me to buy it again but at a higher price. Tried to get support - impossible. Would not link. Tried using the phone but was told to do it online. Failed again. So I paid for a year and got nothing!!! Rip off. Going to contact my credit card provider and cancel payment.

All of a sudden McAfee decided to change google search to Yahoo search, with no warning or consultation whatsoever. Because of that, you have now lost a 150 licence customer. You should listen to your users and not to your suppliers.

As my subscription was up for renewal, I paid $119.95 for a two year subscription to cover three devices. I downloaded to each of the devices (Computer, Iphone,Ipad) and received an email each time to confirm each device was covered. A week later I'm getting emails to say I'm not covered and should pay for (another) subscription. Got in touch with them to be told that my computer is covered, regardless of the email sent the same day, although the IPhone and IPad were not.
Total confusion and when I asked for a refund I was given a phone number, which looked strange. When I mentioned it didn't look like an Australian number, the answer came back "Oh I thought you were in the USA". So they are not even sure of my address (which they do have on file). So, how can I trust their anti- virus if they can't get anything else right ? (and I've been with them for 8 years!)
