I was definitely in a tight spot when I borrowed $300 from these crooks. I originally only wanted like $200 but the lady said it had to be $300 or more. I found out that was a lie. I’ve made five payments of $69..and when I called to pay off the loan. I was told I owed $344!! That’s more than what I borrowed and none of my payments went towards the principal, just in the company pockets. I will not return to these crooks and I will advise others to do the same.

First payment removed from my bank when I never received a loan
Requested information for loan on Max Lends. Told them no in a message because of high interest.
They used my bank info to take a payment for loan that I never authorized or received. Filed dispute with my bank and called them, said they have trace that they took payment but needed my bank to say I never received it. They said they would contact bank and call back in an hour. Never received call back. Next day different person said they have no record.

Be very careful with this lender. read all the information any lending company provides before you accept a loan. I came to find this out after I accepted a small loan from Maxlend how high their interest rate is during payments if you don't pay it off in full the following month, and the small amount that goes to your principal payment. For instance, out of a payment they withdrew from my account on a monthly basis of $732.69, $22.36 is charged daily during the month towards interest, so the monthly payment towards the principal account turned out to be only $22.36. My bad that I didn't check this lender out properly. I took a loan out of $1,400 ONLY in three months they earned in interest about $1,780.25!!! Unfortunately, I was busy caring for a parent during those months so once I had the opportunity to check and review my account with Max Lender, which I thought was paid off due to the amounts they were withdrawing from my account, I hit the ceiling when I noticed that they were still deducting monies and t how high the interest was, so I went ahead and asked to pay the entire loan off immediately but they still added another $22.36 because and I quote "they don't do debit deductions on the day you call--it's done the next day so they added another $22.36 towards the pay off amount which ended up to be $1,432.25!! This loss was in three months into the loan account. DON'T GET RIPPED OFF BY THIS COMPANY. STAY AWAY!!! Take time to read contracts, ask questions, etc. I care for a dependent parent in early stages of dementia so my life is extremely busy. I needed a little helping hand and took out a loan with a loan shark. I'm glad though I caught this sooner than later. Otherwise, I would have been giving money away.

To be clear - this is not a cheap loan, but I was desperate and I knew what I was getting in to. Also, it was explained to me properly by the agent. I borrowed $1030 and paid it off in full after only 7 days (cost me about $90 in interest). THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR A LONG TERM LOAN, but I needed a short term loan and they came through - as promised. I applied one evening, the funds were in my account the next day. They set you up on a payment plan that if you follow, you will pay an enormous amount of interest. However, they told me that I wouldn't want to keep the loan for that long and whenever I was ready to pay the full amount, call back and set up the payment so that I can save on the interest. I called them when I was ready to pay them back and paid it off with NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. I would recommend this company as they were true to their word, just be sure you can pay off the loan right away. If you can't, this isn't the loan for you.

MaxLend is not licensed in my state. I do not live within its tribal bounds. Loans made to me are invalid. I paid $8290 for $3725 and am owed a refund. MaxLend will not communicate with me. Call center is in Belize not North Dakota where they claim to be. They simply ignore Better Business Bureau, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Federal Trade Commission complaints. North Dakota says they can’t deal with them because they are tribal...in Belize??????

At the end of May I asked for a small loan of 450.00 dollars. I never knew that the payment was twice a month. In June I paid twice and in July twice for a total of 439.00. I called them to pay the rest of the loan in one payment and they said that the balance was 561.20. After arguing with them I agreed to pay the final balance of 561.20.When I checked my bank account they didn't discount the balance we agreed and instead 121.00. They don't want to give me a way to get out of my debt. When I called the company the phone identify it a scam phone. Please help me to solve this situation. They have all my information.

This company has originally stated 6 months of payment of $227 that is what I thought I was paying back. In return I have made 12 payments. $227 biweekly and they still insist I have not paid off the loan. The manager stated that I have paid $200 towards principal and the rest on interest. I ask her to please please please stop ACH payments from my account and she insisted that I will be reported and I will have not paid my loan off. I don’t know what else to do. I need these payments to stop as I have paid over 100% interest and the principal amount has well been paid off. Please help me!!

If I could give negative stars, I would! Claim to be a tribal lender but are based in Belize. Not licensed in any state so cannot lend in states which require payday loan lenders to be licensed yet they do. I paid over $8200 for $3700 borrowed! This is PREDATORY and CRIMINAL!!

I called and asked them to stop calling and texting me and stop leaving survey requests on my voicemail as I don't know anything about them. In response, they asked for my social security number and date of birth.

Wouldn't take an early payoff!
I called to payoff my loan today (Friday) and they said they would schedule it for Monday, I stated that I was paying it off now, and they refused stating that they cannot take a payment by debit card, it would have to be through ACH. This is a SCAM in order to obtain additional interest for 4 days! They were adamant! I stated that this call is recorded and you are refusing payment by scheduling the payment be paid on Monday, in order to gain additional interest. SCAM!

Charging more than they stated
I borrowed 300 dollars. the representative said it would be 6 payments. I just found out it is 12 payments of 92.89 which would make a 300 dollar loan cost me 900 dollars. The representatives lie when they tell you the loan cost and they have your account number to deduct anything they want.

Wouldn't take an early payoff
I borrowed $1,200 from this lender due to some financial hardship. When I called to offer an early payoff they wouldn't take a credit card. Meanwhile, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had to have emergency surgert and have not been working since February. When I called them to explain my situation because there would be no more income coming in until I make a full recovery from the craniotomy and return to work, they told me that they couldn't help me and when I asked if I could file for hardship they said it wasn't an option and if I didn't pay the loan they would tack on another $2,000 for non-payment. I had just enough money to pay off the $1,200 that they withdrew from my checking account thru ACH. They continue to withdraw from my checking account the interest on the loan which was misrepresented.

. On 3 Aug 2017, I found myself in a personal financial crisis. I very foolishly applied for a loan with Makes Cents Inc. d/b/a “MaxLend” (“Tribe”) and was approved for $1100. I was never informed of what the interest rate would be and found myself in a cycle where I could not afford to get out from under the loan due to the payments. I made one payment of $137.19; fifteen payments of $244.61 for a total of $3,669.15; and one payment of $445.81. All said I paid $4,252.15 for a $1,100 loan. I paid 286% interest ($3,152.15). This is outrageous. Once that loan was paid off, I was enticed back for another and I needed it due to the financial distress the first loan put me in…as a result, on 26 Mar 2018, I took another loan for $1500 and have paid as of 4 May, $925.90. All told, I have borrowed $2600 from Makes Cents Inc. d/b/a “MaxLend” (“Tribe”) and have paid a total of $5178.05, nearly double the value of the loans. I have paid a total of $2,578.05 in interest which equates to 99% of the $2600 borrowed. In researching this with my financial advisor, the average interest rate for individuals with poor credit is around 35% which would be $936 on a $2600 loan. Makes Cents Inc. d/b/a “MaxLend” (“Tribe”) has profited significantly from my stupidity and desperation. I ask that Makes Cents Inc. d/b/a “MaxLend” (“Tribe”) do the just and right thing and mark my account as paid in full and closed. I have paid a total of $5178.05 to Makes Cents Inc. d/b/a “MaxLend” (“Tribe”) when I borrowed just $2600. A $2600 loan should not cost me nearly double to repay.

350 percent interest rate. Payoff amount exceeds the original loan.
My wife took out this loan unbeknownst to me -- $800 loan payback terms were $250 twice a month over six months (>$3000). Interest rates are not published -- agent on phone would not provide it. Attempted to pay loan off early (two months in), and payoff amount was $860 -- more than the original loan.
MaxLend refused to let me pay off the loan immediately -- insisted it would take 6-10 weeks to process any payment by check (despite directly withdrawing money from my account twice a month), allowing the interest to grow by another $800. Agent thought my attempt to pay the loan early was "cute."
I call this a "scam" because if you legally want to pay off the remaining balance, and it doubles in the time that it takes to process your payment, despite obvious mechanisms to wire money, then you are misrepresenting a money grab as a legitimate fee for services, which it is not.

Wrongfull repayment information
I received a loan back on 9/20/17 for 500. The guy who I spoke to told me I could repay the loan early and they would take part of what I paid towards the pay off. I have paid a told of 514.62 so far and when I called to get the pay off it would be 504. This is crazy they do not credit you with anything you have paid towards the loan principle. I was figuring I would be around 250 to 300 pay off not more than I actually borrowed. Please do yourself a favor stay far away from Maxlend.

300 percent interest
It is harmful! I borrowed $800 when I was in a tough spot and by the time I get it paid off I will have nearly paid back $4000. Now I am behind on all of my other bills and in a really bad place – I have four kids and just needed to borrow the $800 dollars for what I thought was going to catch up on some things and to get some prescriptions filled.. Apparently it's a catch 22 being on tribal- they tell me it is not admissible in US courts.

Interest rate on loan falsely represented.
Received loan for $1100. Was expecting May 15, 2017 to be the last payment of 381.68. That would be a total of $1526.72. I was told that the max I would pay on this loan was $1500.00. I asked specifically that I would by paying %400 interest for an $1100 loan and my final payment would be the fourth payment. I said so the loan is at a 36% interest rate? The person on the phone said yes. They have continued to draft my account twice more beyond that amount. So the total I have paid is $2290.08 and they say I owe 8 more payments of 381.68. This is not what I believed I was agreeing to. The loan agreement was fraudulently represented. As of today, 6/20/2017, I've lost $790.00.

Fraud by misleading
I borrowed 500 from Maxlend. I paid a first payment of 120. They have been debiting 388 out of my account. I set it up for 6 months payments. I was not made. Aware of the 388 payment. It was never mentioned. Because I signed over the internet a contract that did not have 388 on it. They won't stop taking the 388 out of my account They have taken 2 payments plus the firs 120. I have already paid 896 for a 500 loan. I was lead to believe my payments would be around 120.

Pre-Qualified for 1200, then changes to 750, then 625.00
I called to request a loan, as I have had one from them before and it was good. However this time, I was told I was prequalified for $1200, but I only needed a loan for $750, which they approved, but once I send over my paystub and bank statement, they said I was only approved for $625 because I have my paycheck direct deposit split between savings and checking in the SAME BANK.

Interest rate too high.. I never expected the rates would be 200 percent. Borrow 475.00 had to pay back 1100.00 just to get out of it... Never again !!!!!
