I dealt with Mike Winter sales manager who sold car Ford Focus Electric 2012 to me. Promise was made that travel to and from dealer will be paid to me and I was there twice. Down payment of $3000 was made using my credit card by sales rep. John Mitchel not telling me of the amount. He just did transaction and asked me to sign the papers. Deposit was non refundable if I don't want the car. I was not told of that. After I paid in full Mike Winter promised $1500 I will get back $1000 as cash $500 as credit for service of car. Even a case of beer was promised so to make purchase piece of mind. It was too good tom be true.
I got $1000 back and that was all.
If Mike would not lie to me there would be no complain.

Scam me to deposite then refuse to refund
As a person that shopping for my first car, I am looking for the best price across all dealers in GTA region. After about five Ford dealers, I have learned that each one of them requires some deposit in order for them to find the best price of the car for me. They have claimed that if they failed to find the car with my requirement, the deposit will be refunded with no question asked. I have put my money down on some of the dealers so they can start finding my car and in the end got the best price at Yorkdale Ford. As they have claimed, all the other Ford dealer has refunded my money right away. Then my friend told me that he knows another dealer at Markham that might have a better deal. Hence we went there and ask for a price. It turns out, they do find a cheaper car with less features. I was unable to decide at the moment. Then they ask me to put a deposit to smooth the transaction process if I want the car later. I have asked them twice if it is OK for me to put any deposit while I already have a pretty firm deal with the other dealer. They reply to me with confident that the contract I am signing is only valid while the deal with the other dealer is not valid. Since my house is very far from the dealer, and I do not intend to drive another 2 hours if I want to book the car from them, I have put the deposit. Based on the good experience I have with all the other ford dealers in the city, I trust their words and let my guard down a bit.
The condition on the contract says: "customer states previous agreement with other store us cancelled due to not providing car". I thought that means this contract is only valid when I told them the deal with the other store is off, so I sign it.
However, when I got the car from the other dealer and went back to collect my deposit, they said apparently I have already told them the deal with the other dealer is off because what I state in the contract and ask me when I want to get the car. I have no idea what they are talking about and ask for the manager. (At the point, they still think I have not obtained the vehicle yet and try to scam my deal from the other dealer.) The manager has threatened me that I have to buy the car from them because they have already purchase the vehicle and I have a purchasing contract with them. After I told them that I have already got the same vehicle from the Yorkdale dealer, they change their tone and ask me to go to the store and talk to them. I went to the store, and they saw I am single with no family here, so they think it is OK to get more juice out of me. They claim that they have paid $2000 to get the vehicle shipped and want to get that money back from me. (If anyone works in the car dealership, you will know that no dealer will obtain the car before they got all the paper work done. And my conditional contract does not even have a VIN on it.) I called the bluff and then they said they will not sue me for the $2000 if I let them keep the $500 deposit. I tell then I will see them in court and leave.
I am not sure who has the advantage under the commercial law, but scamming customers buy playing around the words with their contract is just unacceptable. Right now, I am contacting my lawyers not only for the money they stole from me, but also to make sure they will not able to scam any other people again!
