SAFE downloads--one of the first sites to check for malware.
INFORMATIVE--list of recommended freewares for various categories, such as disk cleaning, antivirus, browsers, office tools, etc.
HELPFUL--forums to help you fix a problem on your computer.
ENTERTAINING--look at the "catchy" phrases on every page, and "Way off base" stories at bottom of each day's downloads.

Been going here for years. I like the fact that if a program is adware, they tell you (think AOL and RealPlayer). Whenever available, they have links directly to the download without having to go through that program's website first.
It's more than freeware/shareware--I like the news in their "Way Off Base" links.

I have been using this site for many years and have NEVER had a malware or virus issue with ANYTHING that has been downloaded or used from this site. Not many websites you can say that about.

i realy liked it.I can't seem to remember where I found this site but Major Geeks has been extremely useful to me over the past year or so. I've had numerous problems with my computer and this site has helped me out on all of those occasions.regards

I will agree that their downloads are a bit easier to navigate than cnet. No frills, just the simple facts about a DL. Their advice is pretty good too. They do have quite a bit of ads nowadays but I suppose they have to make some money to keep this site alive.

Good download site. Talking about navigation, never had any security issues revealed by other software I use to monitor for possible hack attempts. Downloads, however, might be infected, once they are redirected to other pages, but it is not common and I understand this is not the site's fault. Also, MajorGeeks.com disposes a link so that those suspicious downloads can be documented for further investigation.

Great software site. I really trust these guys. Their forum is helpful to for computer questions and even help with computer problems.
On their main site they have news at the bottom of each day's software. One daily news section is called "Way Off Base" and it has funny news article but some are not things kids should see or read and now they have some links to pics of hot women (like 10 hottest NFL cheerleaders. No links go to sites w/ nudity or porn though. Great site!

Majorgeeks provides good source of software to download, but be aware, this site contains a bad reputation link such as liutilities to update your driver and check for system problem link.....never click any of them as they are believed to be rogue software site.

I heart majorgeeks.com a whole bunch. These are my go-to geeks when I need a program or advice or whatever. These dudes have been around a while now and they're reliable. everything (under the sun) is categorized and it's a mix of shareware and freeware. Yay!! Freeeeeee. ( sorry- had an odd late night moment there for a second) Also when you click on your desired link, it takes you to a page where you can check the user rating of "said" product you are interested in, all the info on it and etc.. There are very few and far between resource download sites I trust, but I trust these geeks. Oh, and they have one of the greatest logos ever created.
