I come everytime I visit fro California. The first time I came and only the first time did i win anything. After that the machines just took my money no matter the denomination i played. I was there in July and it was not a good experience. Besides losing a lot, people sit at slots and not playing them and they lie saying they saving the machine for someone. Go back an hour later they still sitting at the machine and not playing. At least at the indian casinos in Californiz pay every once in a while. I'll give it one more try at the Majestic, but I'll go somewhere else if the machines just take and take. It looks as if the machines have been fixed to take your money. I set on a machine for over 2 hours and only got 8 free spins. Horrible!!

Gone WAY downhill lately...
Several machines have broken buttons for extended time periods. People not playing are always sitting in the slots with the 'nice' seats often even sleeping in them. Slots odd are horrible for the last year or so. Service staff is nice (housekeeping and servers), but other staff - especially management acts like your bothering them if you need something or especially if you have a complaint. Often very un-clean - full ashtrays, half filled cups and bottles everywhere. Takes FOREVER for someone to show up if you turn on your service light even when it's slow.
Used to be clean and fun here. but the last year or two it has really gone downhill. The slots are vacuums that you cannot even spend time playing on anymore consistently. You used to be able to at least play a bit before losing it all - not anymore - you just lose it - and quickly. All sad - but all true. Used to b e one of my favorites.

the machines at this casino have been tampered with; and you do not have to be a professional gambler to figure this out, someone or something has reset these machines to the point where the bonus symbols will not take you into the bonus, in addition, you can only bet 30 cents on some machines, because they have set them to not pay out at any denomination, you bet the max you dont win so much as a dollar, you bet lower and the machines just eat your money up, I cannot understand why the management of this casino, think they can reset these machines and no one notice. Scammers and crooks, go there at your own risk.

I was at majestic star casino on August 3, 2018. Had an okay time lost my money. Me and my husband had left the casino and had given our valet ticket and tip to the valet because we had seen our car 4 cars down, to our surprise the valet insisted on walking us to our car. We had valeted before a dozen times and had been handed our keys before, and walked ourselves. The valet walked us to our car as he was walking us he kept on pressing the panic button, don't know why we have keyless entry. When we got to our car the valet opened husband's drivers side door and a man came out of my car!!! From the back seat a lady!! Me and my husband were in shock asking why are you in our car the man said something like my bad and walked away the valet did nothing. After an hour of getting over being in shock called the casino took me calling about 20 times to get a hold of somebody until Saturday night. Was told to file a police report which i did when i was told there is a gary officer on site at the casino why didnt anybody tell me that talked to over 10 people finally got to the general manager which in my surprise was told I will not be reimbursed. Which I was told everything is on tape. I believe this is a scam because the valet and casino were in on it because how could a reputable company not reimburse me a victim and a good customer of the casino. Either the valet stole my stuff or was negligent and somebody anybody else did. BE responsible and reimburse me . I am sending a warning to all the casino patrons this is not a reputable casino.

This casino is worst casino in Indiana by far!My husband of 10 years came here together and were approached by security asking if i was begging him for money? I asked what was she talking about? I told her this was my husband!!she said im not talking to you im asking him! He replyed "What are you talking about this is my wife!"maybe because im white hes black?? This employee was rude and racists!2018 and Majestic Star Casino employs racists employees?? Maybe if she would of observed us talking to each other by name?or maybe if she would have onserved there cameras of us walking in together?But no since we were not the same color she assumed that we aren't together? Stay away from this casino ....worst employee customer service EVER!!We left right away and spent our money at Ameristar casino 100% better customer service by far....I made a report about this employee by yet have they contacted us about this incident....discusting discusting don't spent your money with is facility enjoy your self at other casinos close by and be treated like a person❤This is updating my review as of 2/23/2018 i have not been contacted by anyone from Majestic casino even thou they posted a review on my page.They send me monthly flyers for my promotions and they have my email and address to send me any contacts.They lie to much and like i said never contacted me.I will post a nrw review if they do contact me about there employee foul actions towards there customers...

I have never been treated so poorly...
My visit to Majestic Star Casino on Saturday, September 16th, 2017 was by far, the worst experience I have ever had at a Casino or any establishment for that matter.

Let me begin by saying I live in Illinois. Visiting Majestic Star Casino is over a 3 hour trip on public transportation from my home. Consisting of a Pace bus, a Metra, a CTA bus, another train and a $25 cab ride. I was meeting a friend and looking forward to 2 days of heavy gambling. My friends' phone wasn't getting a signal in the Casino. I was unable to call him to put my bag in his car or get the key to the hotel room to leave it there.
Upon arrival, I was told by security that I was unable to enter the Casino because I had a bag that contained a change of clothes for the next day and a toothbrush. Embarrassed, I asked to be escorted to the slot machine that my friend was playing to get his key. The answer was NO. Not only was it a NO, it was a NO with a smile and a chuckle. The enjoyment and pleasure he felt... you can easily tell it was the highlight of his evening. I tried reasoning with him to find some way of coming to a logical solution to all of this. All of my words were falling on deaf ears.
I get it, cant have a bag in the casino, rules are rules... not my issue. The arrogance of security to deny me entrance to the casino while smiling and laughing in my face in front of other "customers". Very rude and absolutely the most unprofessional behavior I have experienced from any one individual. I have never felt so small and belittled.
Ended up going to Ameristar 5 mins down the road and will continue to go there.
Sorry I will take my business elsewhere... You're only as strong as your weakest link. GOOD LUCK

they cut my promotions down from $15 to $7 even though i'm spending more money there. slot attendants are the worst ever. they don't acknowledge any lights at the top of the slot machines. they just stand in the doorway to casino rooms and chat with each other instead of walking around to see if anyone needs help. we have to go look for them. the tito machines are always out of order. most of the time, there is only one cage attendant serving a long line of customers. slot attendants and security don't do anything when a customer holds 3 and 4 machines without playing them but won't let anyone else play them. this happened on may 31st where someone was holding 5 machines for about 2 hours and no one did anything about it. this place is getting worse every time i come here. will start going to Ameristar and take the $500 a month i'm loosing here to at least get better treatment.

Casino needs to be updated,lights on majestic 1 third floor over slots by the mens bathroom have been dirty and not working for at least two years.Waitresses only come in this room twice a week and i am a tipper.looking for a change person in this room?Good luck with that, then when they do show up,they have attitudes.I dont even complain anymore because im always offered a free buffet,then when you get down there the food is poorly prepared.Why do i keep coming?Because i like majestic and keep trying to give you the chance to make it better.We not going to even talk about the arguments that have been going on on majestic 1 3rd level for at least 3 months.

The success of your company relies on customer service and communication skills of your employees . I would just like to take this time a write about your Food Beverage Supervisor Will I believe that was his name . What an amazing guy he is, on last Wednesday August 9 I was In the Casino lounge area located between the boats . I was already having a very rough day due to travel plans being delayed and I must admit i was also very much aggravated with all the circumstances of my trip and my day . I'm not sure how he knew what was going on but i thank God for him being at work that day ! When I went to the counter at the front of the lounge I noticed that there was not any gluten free items or just deli meats being sold . Will told me that the offered salads ,I told him " just my luck they way my day has been going that I would not be able to have a snack before we got back on the road ! He gave me a gentle smile and said "I am so sorry that your day is not going as planed and he hopes it would get better" . About 10 minutes later I see him coming toward me with a plate wrapped in plastic , he placed the plate in front of me with a complete variety of the deli meats and some gluten free crackers and cheese , he says " I felt like this would help ease your mind and hopefully make your hectic day a little better" !! I was in total amazement by his actions and he really MADE MY DAY !! That young man is a great and valuable asset to your team . It's was a remarkable thing that he did because I know he did not have to take time out of whet he was doing to appease me . I tried looking for him before I left the casino but I told a floor manger in a black jacket about him and he directed me to the counter at Jack Pot Java but the line was too long .So please please tell him I said Thanks for his compassion and customer service he will go far in life with his personality and immeasurable attention to detail of his customers .Well done, and keep up the good work. My girlfriend got her 100 dollar promo cash, and lost it in a machine because she was not informed that once she downloaded the 100 onto a machine it stayed on that machine, she thought it transferred to her card.... :(
I love to play the slots I wish there were more wheel of fortune slot machines. I was there on a Friday night it was about 3 am . I Returned to the slot machine area, and it had turned into a sad sight... I felt like I was walking around in a nursing home .... several elderly people sleeping in wheelchairs !! VERY SAD TO SEE !

By Far the Best Video Poker around! A lot more variety of games, higher payouts & better odds than any casino in the area. The buffet is awesome, great lake views. I especially love the Friday special grilled Lobster...mmmmmm. And the Steel City Grill has BBQ Ribs to die for...take some home for later or just your late night snack. Have not yet tried the new Chop House but I'll bet it's a winner too.

My wife and I have been going here every week for the past year. The buffet is pretty good but usually the fried chicken is warm but dry. The severs are usually courteous and friendly. I like Blackjack and would play 3-card but the 3-card table is never open when I am there (6-11pm) Thursdays. There is a nice selection of slot machines but a lot of then (10-20%) reject vouchers. I've complained to the staff about this but they won't fix them. The same slots that reject vouchers still reject them after many months. You have to convert your voucher to cash if you want to play.
I've come to accept this. It's annoying but cash works. Not at all like Blue Chip where machines in trouble are fixed promptly. All in all I like the Majestik Star in spite of the poor machine maintenance (vouchers) and unmanned 3-card table.

Yes place is old and so am I big deal it's clean and that's what matters most.was just there again monday and I'm going back wends.this time I'm going to try the food .I am a chef so can't wait try it.

I frequently visit the Harbor View buffet as i receive 2 free buffets per month. There is a variety of food offered. The only problem i have is when they serve Crab legs, many times the legs are drenched in water and it tastes like it.

I stopped going to majestic casino because i could spend 1000$ there every time i would go and my monthly promos were 5$??Im not the only player that notices this problem either?Then there employes are worst customer service ever.They don't great you and make you feel welcome like the other local casinosdo.Then when you enter the parking garage it smells like urine?To top that when you go to the bar area when theres some one there they serve you in plastic cups??They don't have people to help you out and there money changes are always broken or out of cash.Just worst casino in Indiana like i said stopped going my money is spent better by the other casino who are more customer friendly .Majestic casino employees act like your bothering them when you ask them something.

The non smoking slot area does not have the same slot selection as the rest of the casino. You pick up the strong smoke smell in just a few minutes of being there. The new buffet is very good.

Like most Casinos it ducks up your money. One problem is that sometimes the machine does not take the tickets. I enjoy the buffet, it has good food and a lot of variety.

I have to say that this is a big improvement from what it was like a few years ago. I have truly enjoyed the last few time I have visited the buffet. I had at one time gotten to the point that I wouldn't come because every time I did the food would be cold and bland. It is much better now.
