Packed up and left before my reservation ended... will not be refunded and I don’t care just needed to get out of there
I had booked through Airbnb and want to state that this issue had nothing to do with Airbnb. They tried to help me the best they could. I booked two nights and decided to leave after one. Without a refund because of the state of this room. The moment I opened the door the lovely odor of smoke took over and did not go away when I left the window open all night. There was a cockroach sighting in the toilet. Everything was dusty. My socks became dirty just trying to walk around. There were stains on the pillow that are quite questionable, If you catch my drift. The air-conditioner remote didn’t work so I had to climb on the table to turn it on (I’m a small person) of course you can’t change the temperature when turning it on without the remote so it wasn’t very cooling. There was also small hair, I think pet hair, my allergies were going crazy. And to top it all off there was lovely construction noise to wake up to. I will say that they were responsive to my messages so that is a plus! Airbnb tried to get me a refund because I left first thing in the morning and I am not staying tonight, but of course madecomfy will not be refunding me

When we arrived at the apartment (Sydney Darlinghurst) it was hard to find the key in the letterbox because of all the advertisement brochures insides.
Unfortunately the apartment was very dirty. Crumbs everywhere in the kitchen, a picture was standing in the floor because the frame was broken, a broken trashcan and trash on the balcony.
The building ist very old and also the windows are. So it was very loud during the night.
Sorry but we can definitely not recommend this apartment!!!

Whilst the location of the property is great there were a few things that made our stay less than perfect.
Firstly, there is only one set of keys which means if there is more than one party staying (which is most likely being a 3 bedroom apartment) that unless all parties are coming and going at the same time each day it is a BIG inconvenience.
Secondly, whilst it is advertised as 2 bathrooms (en-suite) be aware that there is only 1 shower, again an inconvenience for 6 people staying. The en-suite consists of only a toilet and sink.
The wifi did not work!!!
The blinds were all pulled up on our arrival and we could not pull a couple down and therefore slept with blinds open.
The bedhead is not attached to one of the beds and then bangs against the wall every time someone moves in the bed at night.
Only one of the gas hot plates fired up.
Overall we were very disappointed with this property for the price we paid.

The apartment was absolutely fine - but the "Made Comfy" system was a disaster. How much ID does a company need ? It'd make sense if I was applying for a $1m loan, but I was just renting a room for 2 nights! (email, street address, credit card, drivers license, and pic with me and the drivers license) Totally invasive, where is this info stored ? And for how long ? Then endless annoying emails, yet with so little essential detail. Late and misleading door code info and was also more expensive than advertised .... poor, poor, poor ....

I booked a listing on Airbnb that’s managed by MadeComfy, and had a pretty negative experience.
The place itself was in a good location, a reasonable price, and had good views of the ocean. That said, I found the management company to be unprofessional and disorganized.
I had previously sent them my flight details and they knew I was arriving the country at 6am, and they mentioned a few times I wouldn’t be able to check in early, but that 3pm is the check in time - totally fine. After waiting for hours with my luggage and finally getting to the place at 3pm, the entire place is messy and dirty and hasn’t been cleaned since the previous guests. I called them and one of the reps said unfortunately they are behind and that they couldn’t and wouldn’t give me an estimate for when I could check in, but that they would call back to let me know.
They never called back, I came back to the place later and saw the cleaners were there, and they told me they just got there and that they would get the place cleaned in 15 minutes. Needless to say, the place looked like it had a 15 minute cleaning job - it was only tidied but pretty dirty all around. After that, still didn’t hear from them at all, so I contacted Airbnb who said that MadeComfy is only willing to reimburse 10% of the cleaning fee for the inconvenience, and Airbnb ended up refunding me more because they care about the people in their platform.
Like I said, the place itself was good. MadeComfy is very disappointing all around - I personally will never book anything managed by them again and I feel really sorry for property owners who have entrusted their place with this sub par company.
