We were extremely concerned here this afternoon when we arrived from our flight to find that the gents' toilet immediately prior to the Blue/Green/Red customs exits HAD NO SOAP at the handwashing basins!!! Had to try 3 different dispensers before finding some soap to wash our hands. The airport charges travellers for drop-off and pick-up now, but even in the current epidemic of Covid-19 the airport management FAIL TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE HANDWASHING FACILITIES to keep us all safe! This to any right thinking person is an irresponsible stance. Also, there ought to be many more alcohol-handrub dispensers dotted throughout the airport to encourage hand hygiene behaviour enphasized by the Chief Medical Officer of England Chris Whitty. Shame on Stansted Airport - you need to step up your game, and FAST

Hello
I am so shocked today as a departure passenger leaving Stanstead airport.
Firstly the ladies toilets to the left of security were absolutely filthy.
Tissue and toilet paper thrown everywhere, no toilet was clean That was at 1pm today.
I was travelling out from gate 87.
A passenger arrived early for a later flight and the ground hostess took the nose off her impolitely
We were herded into a corridor awaiting the doors to open 20 mins approximately.
The stairs leading out to the plane was filthy. It has never being cleaned. Corona Virus who cares at Stanstead no hygiene standards.

Really enjoy flying from Stansted - one of my preferred UK airports even though it’s a good two hour drive from where we live. We’ve found check in to be quick and efficient, same with security. Great range of shops and restaurants. Meet and greet parking is superb - right outside the terminal building. Check in and check out quick and easy and the staff communicated superbly during our 24 hour delay due to storm Ciara.

I had booked one of their onsite car parks, through a 3rd party site. I had a trip home planned for months, but unfortunately suffered a second trimester miscarriage only the previous week. I contacted the 3rd party company, explaining the situation, and asked if I could get a voucher for a future booking. It wasn’t something I had wanted to deal with then, but the distraction was good. The 3rd party company’s response was that I hadn’t met the car parks criteria in the T&C’s to get a credit or to change my booking. The greed of the company is ridiculous, I wasn’t asking for a refund, just to move it essentially. I dare to think how much money they are making, when my situation doesn’t qualify for a change in the booking. How many other people with desperate situations are lining their pockets, because the greed doesn’t allow for a change in circumstances to warrant a credit or refund

I felt like I was working with a bunch of plastic people who wanted to believe they were Police Officers. I watched rude bullying staff treat people like criminals going through metal detectors, some staff shouted at them and made people feel inferior. Felt like something out of 'The Stanford Prison Experiment.' Weak Management who allow bullie staff to flourish who speak to travellers with utter disrepect. If you try and complain u get no where. Horrible discusting place, mostly nasty people and worst job I ever had in my life and it left me very, very low for a while. Clicky and like Mafia gangs. Their pay is not worth the amount of stress and the shifts were so short with test upon test upon test. So stressful. Horrible experience.

Mid stay carpark is free for one hour and 2 quid for 2 hours. 2 hours 1 minute is 25 quid. Extortion. I was blocked in by some guy deciding to pull his car out the space and put his four kids and luggage in whilst blocking the exit making me late. Rip off 25 quid for 2 hours. These places are not even airports they are car parks with planes landing.

Tried to pre book Stansted short stay car park online at a cost of £54. As I arrived at confirmation page a saving money button flashed up which I clicked but then I couldn’t Get back to confirmation page- it had disappeared. I waited for a confirmation email with booking reference but nothing arrived So I naturally assumed the booking had not gone through successfully. I rebooked the same car, same time, same date and because of the flawed system made a note of the booking reference. Again no confirmation email arrived. I have discovered I have been charged twice for parking one car at one time on one date. I have written three times to Stansted asking for a refund and have received a case number but no further response.

They are the greediest airport. I took my son and his children to Stansted to emigrate Dubai. My wife is very disabled and we ended up 2 minutes over the allowed 10 minutes and they charged us £25 for that. i contacted them and explained about my wife's disability and why we were there. They said tough luck your'e not getting you money back.

Efficient friendly staff. No problems in any area from checkin to security. Good departure lounge with a good choice of eateries and bars or shops. Good information screens. Overall a good experience.

If you are willing to add an extra 3 hours onto your flight time for no reason, go to Stansted. We landed at the airport at 3 in the morning already an hour later than our expected arrival time. A passenger was in need of paramedic assistance so for 30 minutes everyone on the plane had to stay seated to wait for paramedics to examine them. After waiting an extra 20 minutes on the bus to get away from our plane, we finally reached the airport where we were greeted with another 30 minute queue at customs. This could’ve easily been fixed by opening the e-passport electronic customs, however, these were all closed meaning that another easily avoidable wait was imminent. After finally getting through, after over an hour, to the baggage reclaim we were all expecting our bags to be ready waiting. However after waiting another 30 minutes the tannoy announces that our bags will be delayed by another hour before they are delivered. With no staff around to talk to we were trapped in the airport until at least 6 in the morning, when our expected landing time was 2. Never coming to this airport again. They have no respect for anyone and couldn’t care less that some people may be working or in need of sleep.

"Meet and greet" now means drop your car off in the middle of a distant car park and walk for 10 minutes to the office to then drop your key, I dont define that as "Meet and Greet"
Difficult to get to gates as you must navigate a huge shopping mall of overpriced product.
The Security is over zealous. WHY do stansted go over-board with security. I saw them frisking a 9 year old in a wheel chair and grandma. You can strip naked and the alarm still goes off before standing in that ridiculous machine. The return security from any other country is always better, its stringent and more than adequate.
2 minute drop off now costs £4.
Such a bad airport.

I arrived with my kids in whom one has autism. We came 2 hours early and joined a long queue of security check.
It was very busy and the queue wasn't moving!
My daughter was agitated. So i asked staff to give us speedy way. They shrugged and said ask the people in front of you. People kindly gave way and i was at the front. This is where they really torment you if they had a bad day. So they opened all our suitcases and examine every single thing and took some liquid for extra examination. Only because i said plz hurry up they made it extra extra extra slow just to wind me up.
The hatred was all over their face. They just hate passengers and hate their jobs.
It took so long that we were losing our flights. Unbelievable! I asked one of the staff to call easy-jet desk to let them know we are stuck. She said: sorry can't! shrugged and disappeared.
5 minutes to departure, im running with two kids, one on buggy and one is crying and howling behind me: mummy stop plz stop! She couldn't take it anymore.
She still has nightmares and everytime we mention stansted name, she gets traumatised.

A few weeks ago we landed in stanstead airport at 2.30am and the queue to get a taxi was over an hour long. Stanstead charge a fee of £3.50 for pick up/drop off, unless you are there over 15min when they charge £25. There was an enourmous queue to get out of the pick up point and we were stuck behind a car that had problems getting out, theresfore stanstead charged us £25 which the taxi driver passed onto us. I was absolutely outraged at this astronomical cost which was absolutely NOT our fault as we were ready to leave in the time given. I complained to stanstead, they took two weeks to reply, and basically said it was my fault for not leaving in time. Absolutely shocked and appalled at stanstead airport, firstly for charging such a ridiculous price and secondly to taking such a long time to reply and their rudeness in placeing blame on me. Will not be going back to stanstead in a hurry!

Very badly organised security checks - long slow queues, you have to strip practically to your pants (shoes, belts, watches etc.) and despite that the scanner is so oversensitive - it rings for no reason - I had no metal on me apart from a trouser button! Many people didn't get through because of that and had to wait in another very slow queue for a scan. The scanner didn't work properly and kept crashing down. It was ridiculous.
The departure hall was extremely overcrowded, nowhere to sit down. It is quite clear the airport can't take such amount of passengers but nobody cares as long as they get their money.
My Easyjet flight was delayed for 2 hours and I couldn't even find why as there is no passenger information. Never again!

Another seamless experience through Stansted Airport even in the snow. A little queuing at security but other than that, straight through and no problem. Recommended.

I have travelled from most UK airports and find London Stanstead to be the easiest to use.
