Incredibly bad service. Flight cancelled, no assistance to re-book a reasonable alternative so lost a full working day.
Complete disregard to the customer. It works for them because there aren't many alternatives in Australia. Avoid at all costs.

Most JetStar experiences have been good, easy check in and quick boarding, smooth experience overall. On one experience from Queenstown to Melbourne, the staff were rushing passengers to board 45 mins early so the place could depart ASAP. Possible to miss your flight if this happens! Best to arrive early for these flights just in case. Otherwise great!

"An unknown error occurred". 6 browsers, 3 computers. Tried clearing cookies, going into incognito mode, different credit cards. Hours of wasted time.
Customer support say there is no problem. Google reveals countless others with the same problem.
If you try to book over the phone the prices are much higher. Is this a scam to force me to book over the phone at a higher price?
It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have a near monopoly on certain routes.

They charge for everything and call themselves a low budget airline. I've paid less for the same flight with another company (previous year) and got all the services they charge extra for, INCLUDING food.
My 68 year old mother was cold and was told it's $10 for a blanket. ridiculous.
They charge for the entertainment ($10 to watch a film), never in my life have I seen this.
I'm sure in case of an emergency I'd have to pop my credit card in to be able to use the breathing mask.
The flight wasn't THAT cheap where you can do all this and the 7kg hand allowance is a joke.
Only up side was the plane itself looked new and well kept.
First and last time I'm booking with JetStar

Jetstar is the only direct flight Sydney to Phuket so they have a monopoly on this route.
The Dreamliner is clean and modern and although the seats are uncomfortable and small, sitting upfront is worth a little extra to get away from the ‘less socially skilled ‘up the back.
If you can actually use your Qantas points easily to book a complete Jetstar package including all the endless costly extras (which are necessities ,really speaking) you deserve a medal. Neither company coordinates with the other. I still ended up with no meals.
,despite endless phone calls and online bookings which were ‘sorted’
The big issue is the delays, delays cancellations and more delays.
Jetstar are just plain naughty about their schedule and operate on a whim to cut costs.
They also skimp on spares and maintenance crew at Phuket and other non hubs .There were ongoing issues whereby several Dreamliners were sitting on tarmacs all over their routes because of an issue with the computers sorting engine start.
It also seemsthat the underpaid Asian staff call in sick, which is the only way to protest to and squeeze management and flights get pulled.
(Cathay Pacific and Dragonair used to be the same ).
In the end the hassle is not really worth it.
Thai do it so much better but there is that transit in BKK which can be very crowded....
For my money Air Asia is a better airline, ie more dependable than Jetstar despite less frills to purchase onboard.

They are not interested in whether you have connecting flights or whether you have to spend an additional 6 hours waiting in the airport.. The only thing they offered to do was cancel the booking... Sounds more like a threat than any sort of customer service!
Update: 2nd extended delay within 2 weeks for the same reason!
Arrived at the airport for the return flight, after being delayed by 6 hours only 2 weeks prior.
Sure enough, as soon as we've progressed through customs, we receive an email from Jetstar that the flight has been delayed AGAIN! This time there's a 2 hour delay for the same reason as last time... "Engineering Requirements"
Does this airline ever fly on time???

You get what you pay for. Soon they will charge for using the toilets))) . Check every gram of your luggage including hand luggage. You should pay more attention to the service instead.

Have you had communication problems with Jetstar or Jetstar Asia? Communicating with them just via their WebChat service only to find ill-informed call centre staff unable to answer simple questions pertinent to the company’s operations? Have they maybe failed to live up to their Customer Guarantee?
So I have found a solution. Jetstar’s CEO is Gareth Evans and whilst he may not be able to personally respond to every enquiry, he is fastidious and wants things to be right. If he doesn’t respond to you personally he will definitely pass your enquiry to the correct person.
Gareth can be contact via his email, gareth.evans '@' jetstar.com
