We moved into our new cottage about six years ago. Sadly the windows after much closer inspection are awful, and I cannot believe they have the cheek to manufacture them.
The vents have no covers and the holes look like they’ve been cut out by a blind person!
We cannot have the windows open as the partial catches have been fitted wrong - so, they’re either open or closedI
I strongly recommend you avoid this company like the plague!!

If you could give no stars that is what I would have chosen.
We bought 2 sets of bi-fold doors in engineer oak from B&Q which unfortunately for us were made by Jeldwen. The doors were for an extension that was being built but it hadn't started so there wasn't any rush to hang them, but the builder wanted to exact sizes for the frame. Before they were hung they were sealed with Sadolin as we wanted the oak finish, at least 3 coats just to make sure. They have been in 3 years now. Within a couple of months of them being hung I noticed what looked like a bulge in one of the doors, by the end of the first year the veneer on 4 out of the 6 doors had started to flake and peel off. I took photos and emailed Jeldwen with the photos and as of yet 2 years later I haven't heard from them. Last summer I rubbed them down, filled where the 'paper thin veneer' had come off and painted the whole lot with the Dulux weathershield 1.2.3 system. They looked good except obviously now they were painted which we hadn't wanted but they were sorted and wouldn't have to be touched for a few years. No how wrong can you be, they are once again peeling and strips of 'paper thin veneer' are coming off. If I had known B&Q doors were Jeldwen I wouldn't have touched them with a barge pole. All I can say is DON'T EVER BUY FROM JELDWEN THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY. People say you get what you pay for but these doors were not cheap. It is gong to be less hassle to replace them as once you take into account the time it is going to take every 12 months to rub down more strips and paint them plus by the end of probably the next 4 years there won't be any veneer left !! If I could add photos I would. It is heartbreaking

You might end up buying a window made by this company from B and Q or Wickes and not know it is made by them. Our windows were supplied by a builders merchant to our superb builder. We were told they would take 2-3 weeks they took 6. Obviously this put the building back. On opening the packaging I don’t know who was more disappointing us or the builder. Every single one had some cosmetic damage on them. Worse than that when it started to rain the water leaves what looks like mould spots on window. They look like a leopard. Our builder has been fantastic in chasing the company up to repair the damage. Finally after 4 weeks an engineer came out. He hasn’t been briefed on what was needed and was so shocked by the state of the windows he immediately contacted the HQ. An inspector then came out and agreed that an engineer should again come out to repair the cosmetic damage. We have once again chased and chased and finally after another 6 weeks one is due to come. Regarding the spotting he said that it should right itself after 6 months. I won’t hold my breath except to say I won’t be adverse form taking legal action against you if these problems are not resolved.

DO NOT USE THEM
10 year warranty - they will find a reason not to adhere to it including,"you did not wash them" "you did not adhere to terms and conditions" "minor touch up not done" "In extremely hot dry weather sufficient moisture vapour may be removed to produce movement which will affect the surface coating, this can on rare occasions result in splits in the surface, particularly to the joints, even with fully finished products, such movement is beyond our control" and "Resin is also not covered within our warranties is this is also out of our control and is a natural occurrence in timber products"
If you are fortunate enough to find a copy of the T & Cs this does not currently appear and they have not produced any evidence of this either when requested. (I personally have only found some T & Cs in the brochure showing all there windows and frames - I located this at Ridgeons)
Neither will they produce any warranty document which should be passed to end user when their doors and windows are installed by a builder and supplied through the trade.
Also being wood the doors continually expand/shrink resulting in regular and continued adjustment of hinges to keep doors working correctly. Within 2/3 days of a visit the doors will not fit correctly again.
STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY

Our new Jeldwen Wooden windows don't fit the frames properly, the air vents on the top let noise and water through (ironically called stormsure). The stick on muntins came unstuck within weeks and the wood they're made out of is very soft.
We also had an engineered oak door at the same time, within a week the finish had started peeling and door bowed massively. It swells and shrinks by half an inch between summer and winter! So much for engineered being more stable than solid!
OK, so at the end of the day lets hope for good customer back up... Nope, none, nothing inregards to the door, stuck some muntins back on the windows but nothing else. Came up with any excuse to do nothing .

Only moved in last June and so far we have needed two completely new lock systems on two doors and hinges adjusted / aligned three times on all doors. Customer service is slow to respond and lack any real concern about genuine customer problems. When engineers finally appear they are not briefed properly on the work required and invariably don’t have all the necessary parts. External paint finish is substandard and we are having to fight for external redecoration at their cost which is proving tricky. BAD BAD BAD BAD

Bought a patio door in a custom color. BIG disappointment! Quality control is severely lacking. We are now on the 2nd door and it's really no better than the first door. However we are exhausted dealing with this company and don't want to spend out life with a giant hole in our wall waiting for them to get it right. I will never ever ever buy a Jeldwen product ever again.

Windows for our new house are a huge disappointment. Not as described or the same as the sample. Windows don't fit correctly into the frames they supplied. Most of the lock/handles don't work, showing signs of pitting already. Have been waiting for their quality assurance dept to come out to the house. Have been waiting 2 months so far. I would not recommend these to anyone.
