Wedged into an open area between two buildings in a shopping center, Harmony Park adds a nice place to sit and relax in an urban area. Located next to Maxwell's House of Music, the park's name fits right in.
The park has a lot of concrete, but there is some green space and some plantings. There are colorful pot for additional plantings. Along the sidewalk are some musical chimes that visitors can play (even the mallets for striking were still there!)
One of the first things you will notice is that there is a giant mural on both buildings that bracket the park. The mural is called "Reverberations" and was painted by Wilfred Sieg III and Rescko Stewart. The mural continues the musical theme with waving keyboards, lots of guitars, and other musical symbols in bright colors. There is also a stage outside the music shop for live concerts in the park.
What a cool place for small parties of friends who enjoy music.
