I recently moved and updated my information with JC Penney online. However, an order I recently placed was being sent to my old address. Even though the order had not shipped yet, they refused to update the shipping address and told me that I still will have to pay for the merchandise, which is shipping to the state I use to live in. I spoke with several different agents, emailed and received no help, whatsoever. There are still items on the order that haven't shipped and they will not update the shipping information. Impossible to believe. The last gal I spoke to said, I see you updated your profile, but you did it after placing items in your cart, so it didn't carry over. How is that my fault. Don't buy anything from them.

Do not order from JCPenney. Purchased a mattress and box spring from them on 9/4/20 and here we are on 10/14/20 and still have not received!

We ordered a mattress on July 25. Were told it might take time and to check back if we hadn't heard anything by August 11.
We called on August 13 and were not given any information. We were told to try again if we hadn't gotten a call to schedule the delivery in a couple more days.
We called August 18 and were told the salesperson answering did not have any information about our order and to call back the next day when the salesperson we worked with should be there.
We called back August 19, and were told they would contact shipping and call us back with information. We did not receive a return phone call.
At this point we are talking about canceling the order so that we can finally get the mattress from somewhere else, but have still not been able to communicate with the store to talk about this.

My appointment was automatically cancelled. I have no issue with this because of covid. I kept calling as the message said to leave your name and number and they will call you back. 8 months later and i finally get in contact with them. They tell me i have to drive 2.5 hours away to get what i paid for 8 months earlier. I complained in a phone call and they said, because i purchased through groupon they cannot do anything for me. The person on the phone could not give me the managers full name she was dealing with and there was no help. I told them i would be writing a bad review on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. They did not seem to care. I have no product. As far as I am concerned they stole my money.
I will never use the services of JC Penny again and I won't purchase anything from this antiquated business.

Just received my JC Penney order after being "missing" for 3 weeks. Penneys didn't know where pkg was & Post Office blamed UPS for losing pkg & UPS blamed Post Office. I place a replacement order & here we go again. My pkg which started in Missouri & then was supposed to be delivered to Bismarck, ND, after being transferred in Minnesota is now in South Carolina according to tracking #. Really? It went from Minnesota to South Carolina. Do you know Minnesota is right next to North Dakota & South Carolina is on the east coast? So should I assume this pkg will get "lost" too only to show up 3 weeks later? I just ordered from Kohls 5 days ago & pkg was UPS only & it arrived today, with no problem. Sooooo why is Sure Post such a mess?

Ordered a matress on May 23, 2020. Salesperson said I would receive within two weeks. After 14 days I went on their website and found out it would not be delivered until June 17, 2020. Today is June 17, 2020 and I called the delivery company and they don't have the mattress. I have been on hold for 46 minutes and I still have not talked to anyone. Buy your mattress from someone who has it in stock. Penny's doesn't stock, they order from manufacturer when you purchase. Still on hold.

On line system is inaccurate, sloppy, misleading, and does not honor promised actions. Even worse, customer service is populated with incompetent, rude, and extremely unhelpful personnel who delight in transferring calls back to the waiting queue, which is always a LONG time. One star is an accurate representation of their internet customer service, but I gave two stars because actual store personnel, in Meadows Mall, Las Vegas,Nevada, are always outstanding.

I ordered several shirts the order took a week to ship and then I got an email stating it had arrived. However, they shipped it to my old address. I called the 800 number and after waiting for almost an hour for someone to answer I was ultimately told that there was nothing they could do except to reorder and charge me again. I have now been charged for an order that I've never received I am most certainly not going to order again and pay a second time and hope it arrives to the right address. Allen in Texas

After being a loyal customer for over 50 years. I recently had an order shipped of gym shoes. The price was 40 something dollars, $60 is taken out of my bank. The shoes that I ordered didn't match the box that they were in or the picture that I ordered in from. They were completely different shoe. Due to the Coronavirus I cannot to return these I could do it by mail but even my post office is closed. After sending a customer email explaining my situation I never received the response back. One simple reason why this store is going out of existence is to the people they employ. I'll respect and loyalty has now gone I wish JCPenney the best. Thanks I hope my $60 help you move on worst experience

I stopped shopping at Jcpenney a year ago. The customer service is horrible. I mean really horrible. Doesn't matter if it's at the store or over the phone. I order 2 pairs of shoes for my toddler. What I recieved was one pair of size 11 women brown shoes and the incorrect size for the other pair. So, I call customer service and explained the problem. Returned the shoes just to receive one pair of the correct shoe but with the security tab on it. But, what happened to the second pair. I still don't know. Spoke with a supervisor and she was just as dumb. Went to the store to have security tab removed and they gave me a hard time about removing the security tab and a bag so I could continue shopping in their store. Had to get a manager to get a bag. The customers behind me was shocked at the stupidity. So, I will never shop at a Jcpenney again and I hope they close up for good. Horrible company.

Update: JCPenney contacted me via email. They said they were "unable to reach me" with the phone number provided. I never received a phone call and have had no phone problems.
The email states I can cancel my order or call their 1800 number. So, no resolution (since I've tried both of those). Lame response!!!!
I ordered 3 pieces of clothing on March 2nd. They arrived at the store on March 11th. However, due to Covid-19, the store closed. I received a notification that my order had arrived but the doors are all locked up.
I attempted to call customer service and also sent an email. I was told I would need to wait until the store opened and that my order was still there waiting.
Fast forward to May 1st--our state has opened retail stores. However, this store is still closed, doors locked and I still cannot get my order from two months ago. I asked for it to be shipped to me instead and was told no, I would have to wait.
Now I'm reading on multiple sites that JCPenney will likely file for bankruptcy in June!!
I've been a customer for more than a decade. I've always loved this store. It would be sad to hear of them going out of business. However, after this experience, I can see why. So many other stores have been innovative with incorporating curbside pickup and extending extra customer service. I feel left out in the cold, being given the silent treatment. So disappointing.

Would leave a negative if able!! So furious and never shopping w JcPenny again. Order a lot of merchandise. One shipment arrived-was to be 3 rugs and a pillow. Contacted same day to advise one rug didn’t arrive but said delivered. Told to wait 3 days which I did. A divided them did not receive. Won’t credit me my 25 dollars or send me the rug without a police report. ?!?! Unbelievable. It didn’t get stolen. We have a video door bell. It never came!! I’m not bothering the police right now for a 25 dollar missing rug that was not stolen.... in the middle of a pandemic. Worst customer service I’ve ever received. I do most shopping online and have never been treated this way or with this expectation. Shame on you!!

I ordered from JCPenny online, and when I received my order, one item was wrong. I was displeased with the order and decided to send the order back. I called and a shipping label was emailed to me. I have been waiting on a refund for two weeks now. I called customer service and emailed about it. I was told they received my items, and would issue a refund in approximately 3 weeks. Why should it take 3 weeks to receive a refund? Why should I have to wait 10 to 12 business days for my money? I will never order from JCPenny or purchase anything from them again, Very Dissatisfied.

If I could give a zero rating I would. I will never order from JCP again. Twice I have ordered items online once last year and I thought I would give them against n recently. Boy was I wrong. Twice I have added the mailing address reverted to an old address despite carefully checking several times on the most recent order. On both orders I called customer service to see if it could the address could be fixed even though the order had the tracking number but had not left their facility. I was told they could not change it to call UPS. I called UPS they said that because of the way JCP ships items (free shipping) the address cannot the changed. The first time I was told to wait until the the people at my old address returns the items for a refund. That never happened. I had to dispute the order on my card. For my most recent order I was told by UPS to upgrade my MyChoice account for $40 to upgrade the shipping. That could not be done because of the wrong address and my maiden name on the package. I just received notification that my recent order was delivered to my former address now I’m out a great deal of money. I will try to request a dispute on my card. Will never use JCP again!!!!!!!

Bought a RC helicopter from JCPenney it was defective so I returned it. They have had it for 9 days now per the return delivery confirmation. They are refusing to refund my money. JCPenney shipped defective products and refusing to refund my money. Buyer beware!!

Ordered a mattress from jcpenny and after sleeping on it it started hurting my back, called to see if I could exchangeto softer mattress and was told not o let do I have to pay restock ($95), pick up ($85) I also have to pay the difference of the price the mattress is now instead of sale price I bought it at ($600). I would have to be over $700 out of pocket to exchange my mattress for the same mattress that is less firm. When I asked if I could pay restock and pickup free and get a refund for the rest I was told I could not and my money has to go toward another mattress at jCP. I have been a long time shopper at jcpenny until now. Very frustrating.

I recently posted a complaint and recently was contacted by JC Penny. They were efficient and courteous. They rectified the problem and I give them credit for this. It shows that not all big corporations are the same. I would shop here again unlike Nordstrom that demonstrates terrible customer service.

I am very upset with Jcpenney. I placed an order for 2 vacuum clears a week ago. The day before I was due to receive them they cancelled both orders. This was definitely a waste of my time. I lost out on the opportunity to purchase the same merchandise from other stores thinking I had already secured my stuff. I am very upset about this.

I cannot believe I just wasted two hours of my self-quarantined time trying to buy shoes for my daughter and myself at JCPenny.com. First, please have your people learn to update your prices online. Why should I be misled by the prices you have posted? I click on the pictures on your website expecting to pay the price listed with that particular picture only to find out I was the idiot who trusted that JC Penny would have some integrity and list the price, picture and link it to the product you are displaying. After making the mistake of wasting my self-quarantined time to visit JC Penny's website hoping to find a better deal than what I saw on Famous Footwear's website, I called their customer service only to be treated like this was my problem and JC Penny can't do anything to honor what they display. Thank God there are other retail stores that want to take all the money I want to spend. I now know that JC Penny doesn't need or want my money based on the way their Customer Care agent and supervisor dismissed my issue as if they don't care and have better things to do than to encourage me to shop with JC Penny instead of Amazon, Famous Footwear, Just Fab, Shoe Dazzle or any other website to buy my shoes. I think that was the mistake I made on April 6, 2020, from 6 PM CST to 7:25 PM CST. I thought I was on one of the other websites that take care of their customers and want my money. I am so glad I took screenshots so I can report this company that once valued its employees to the FTC for false advertising and bait-and-switch marketing.

I am no longer a Jcpenneys customer after my last experience with this company and will be cancelling my credit card and spending my money elsewhere. They have horrible customer service employees and cancelled my online order after 3 weeks of it being placed while continuing to fill the same order to others. I lost all respect for this company

Before the Corona Virus I ordered a few dresses for my girls. The one dress we needed was missing from the package. I called right away (Friday) and they said that I needed to call after 24 hours from delivery of package, That they would put in a claim..then I called on Monday and they said a check was being mailed since I paid with Pay Pal..I called 2 weeks later March 17 saying I never received a check and then they opened a claim. They said someone would contact me...the store is closed and I have no answers. I have never dealt with such a mismanaged unprofessional store. The deals look good but I will never order from them again! BTW the dress was 43.00 and I have another dress to return. WATCH OUT! NOT WORTH ANY SAVINGS!!!
