Beautiful rings and great customer service. If you have any questions they have 24/7 support agents you can message while searching the website. The website showed that rings were only in sizes I didn't need and when I asked if they could go lower or higher they said they could do that without having to spend extra money. All in all great experience and now my fiancée gets to enjoy her beautiful right I created for her I will strongly recommend giving this a shot as the entire experience was something I will never forget. Also it came in a big box with the Ring case and a certificate and cleaning stuff.

They had a great selection of diamonds and setting to choose from. I Was very satisfied with the product which was very well package containing the certificate, cloth, ring and box etc. The customer service was also very helpful in following through the orders and helped me with the international delivering (to UK) and made aware of the tax that needed to pay. Overall 10/10

My fiancé purchased a beautiful ring from James Allen just one year ago.
The ring was delivered late after first initial purchase. He just thought okay one mistake totally get it. We shop online all of the time we know how this works.
The ring had to be sent back for sizing, totally normal however the prongs needed to be tightened (after a month of wearing). I have never owned a diamond ring before so I thought oh I've heard of this before, it's probably normal.
Fast forward a few months. I accidentally knocked my ring on the kitchen counter. Diamond came lose. So again never owning a diamond before I thought WOW I need to be way more careful, eventually being scared to wear this ring because I didn't know otherwise. We and the ring back in for a prong tightening.
Fast forward to April (9 months after the engagement) we sent the ring in to have a final cleaning and prongs tightened (because yes the diamond was lose AGAIN) and they had for about a week when we finally reached out and asked so when will we get this back we had engagement pictures coming up. Their response was "oh I'm sorry, we've had to completely remake your ring because the prongs weren't strong enough). Of course at first we were both extremely upset to which they didn't care they're fixing it right? We were upset for weeks and then finally came to the conclusion; you know what, it may not be the ring he proposed with but it'll be fixed and I can have it forever! That's the point of a ring right??
Fast forward to now, 6 weeks prior to the wedding, not even knocked on anything I believe it was "snagged" on a top. The top left prong is bent out of shape and yet again, the diamond is lose. We took this to two different jewelers, one being Jared, who's now a sister company to James Allen. Both saying this ring should've never been offered in rose gold, the prongs are not sturdy and were honestly surprised you still have this diamond intact. So I reached out to customer service (who's never really been helpful to begin with) asking for a refund just for the setting because we're going elsewhere to have this remade AGAIN. To which I'm told "it was purchased in 2018 which is wayyy past our 30 return policy" the yyy was included, professional right?? And that there was nothing they could do other than inspect it themselves and MAYBE when the jeweler gets it and it has to be remade they would issue a credit for another setting. Mind you this would be the 5th time they've had the ring in 12 months.
Would absolutely never, ever recommend them. Not only have we had so many issues, they're not helpful, the ring is defective and now 6 weeks before our wedding we're having to have a new ring completely custom made by someone else.
I will never understand how businesses get away with this. Very, very sad.

I bought an engagement ring on James Allen and could not have been more satisfied. Both the diamond and setting were of excellent quality and remarkably cheaper than inferior products in retail stores. The value and quality was amazing, my fiancé constantly gets complements on her ring and it’s clear people think I spent significantly more than I actually did. I would and do recommend James Allen to any of my friends looking at engagement rings.

Too bad I had to even give 1 star. I ordered and paid in full via wire transfer for a $7k loose diamond. Got confirmation of payment and that stone would go through QA then ship overnight to me 1-3 days. I depended on getting the stone for a very important event. After 4 days, no response from JA. I called everyday afterwards and asked for my diamond, excuses after excuses. They didn’t even have the stone that they sold to me and collected payment on. After 8 days, I asked for a refund. Agent told me refund takes 2 weeks!! Now I have to wait 2 weeks before I can even buy another diamond since they have my money. No diamond for my event. Beware of promises from this company. They sell diamonds that are not even in stock and will give you the run around. No diamond, out of $7000 and still waiting on my refund.
Should have went with Blue Nile.

FIRSTLY: I do see a shift in the past few years in terms of ad campaigns and the type of language being used. I also understand that algorithms have tailored ads to suit certain demographics like an age, a gender a specifically designed engagement expectation!
WHY, and this goes to other companies also that do this, do you have to refer SO MUCH to SEX? Are we the customers that low? In terms of society and our values, yes; they're not the greatest. But why bring us reminders that we are a sexual beings. We know that we have a feeling of love, of pleasure of satisfaction of a beautiful sensation. STOP degrading this sensation in your ad campaigns.

I really enjoyed my experience. The 24/7 online help is absolutely amazing. They are accurate, friendly, and know exactly how to help. The only thing I would change is the expected arrival date. There are some verification steps I wasn’t aware of and couldn’t find information about which did delay my order some. It wasn’t a huge issue for me since I didn’t need my order that quickly, but it would be good to know if ordering something on a strict timeline. Overall, very happy with the quality of the product and costumer service.

Engagement ring & wedding bands purchased from JA. I love the online viewing of the ring. Crystal clear image. Up close can see every imperfection in the diamond. After production completed rings shipped next day. Literally took less than 24 hours and I'm in Texas. Great quality with reasonable prices. Only down side is they don't have any stores here. As far as I can tell only location is in NY.

I had purchased two rings to propose to my fiance with. They were great - lots of compliments. Well I lost my ring in an awful experience at a spa and went to re-purchase. The experience was terrible. Quoted me time which was then extended by almost 100% as we tried to time getting the replacement ring before a family event (idk I wanted my partner and I to have our rings!)
Went back and forth about needing all this extra verification - ended up saying F--- IT. I'll sell the first wedding rings and get 2 better ones from a more reputable company.

Don't risk please. Especially if you are from Germany (our case) or if you are not living in US. The ring which we have received was unfortunately ... crooked. The head was tilted a couple of degrees to the right. We payed 19% taxes on the ring as we received it. To send back we would have to pay around 200 euros as customs handling fee. Besides this fee, we spent approximately 30 hours of our lives writing with different customs offices and customer service of JA. Now we are trying to find a good jeweler to get it fixed locally. The customer service of JA was super kind and offered us to fix it for free, but still, why something like this even happens? Our magic moment was basically spoiled. The irony is that the Quality Assurance officer (Erika, in our case) even signs a little card which comes together with the ring saying that the product was "inspected and approved". :)

Buyer beware, the estimated mail out date is misleading. Average production time is 2.5-3 weeks. If you need a piece by a specific date order at least 4 weeks or more before time.

Have had my James Allen ring a total of 3 weeks since my partner proposing. In that time I’ve barely worn it because it needed resizing.
Found 2 diamonds have fallen out of the outer halo. James Allen were taking no responsibility saying it was from the resizing I had done here in Australia. I have since had MULTIPLE jewellers assure me it was not from the resizing but the poor quality of ring. The diamonds on the halo are on an angle and too exposed so any slight bump will risk them falling out.
Have had multiple messages going with James Allen. Yes they have waved the cost of FedEx, but have given me no indication of the process except that it needs inspecting by their jeweller. So no guarantee that the problem will be fixed or even that they will recognise that it is a fault in the design. Not to mention I would probably again have to pay import tax to get it back into the country.
It apparently also does not qualify for a refund because it’s outside of the 30 days, worn and not in its original condition. This should not matter when it’s the poor quality that has caused this!
It is now going to cost us upwards of $3000 to have the ring remade here in Australia! Be nice to be refunded that cost by James Allen seeing as they caused this problem.
Definitely will not be recommending James Allen to anyone.

I truly don’t understand these bad reviews. In the process of finding a diamond and ring, I have been talking to James Allen Customer Service every day. They are terrific!! So efficient and knowledgeable and transparent. We ordered the ring via wire transfer and haven’t had any issues. They’ve personally called a few times as well to make sure everything has gone smoothly so far. I would recommend them.

This is only for the Customer Service online I received online which stopped me from ordering. I was in the final steps of ordering when I noticed there would be a delivery fee. I didn't know if that was included in the total so I spoke to a customer service person online and they told me it wasn't. They explained in a belittling way that customs would charge me once the package arrives which I'm confused by. I don't understand why you wouldn't inform a customer CLEARLY about a £300+ custom delivery charge but have to hide it. I immediately exited the website and will be looking for a different place to purchase a ring.
