Stay away from this company. I ordered 7
roses, planted them according to directions
and 3 died. Their paperwork said you have
to wait til after May 30 to report problems, which I did. They refused to compensate
me for their inferior products. Really, stay
away from this company. Much better off
buying from a local nursery or even a
grocery store that carries plants!

I've always been able to grow strong healthy roses. 5 of the 6 roses I ordered from them died and they would not replace them. I will never order from them again. Bad customer service and horrible product beware!

I HAVE JUST READ THE REVIEWS OF A DOZEN "J/P" CUSTOMERS AND THEY ALL REFLECT MY RECENT DEALING WITH THEM. I HAVE RAISED ROSES AN PURCHASED FROM JACKSON AND PERKINS (THE OLD COMPANY) IN THE 60,70,80. AND DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE CHANGE. I RECENTLY MOVED TO ARIZONA, SO WAS DREAMING OF HAVING A ROSE GARDEN FOR MY WIFE'S RETIREMENT, WHAT A NIGHTMARE. I WOULD GLADLY PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS SO THAT HONEST BUSINESS WOULD SURVIVE. NINE OF THE TEN ROSES ARE BLACK AN BROWN STICKS, WHEN I ASKED THEY BE REPLACED,WAS TOLD I WOULD GET A REFUND,NOTHING MORE.

Jackson and Perkins wont respect your money, they charge me 30 bucks for a rose plant, it arrived dead, i contact them with pictures and their reply was to blame it all on the shipping.
But no options or intentions to make the matter better, honor their garantee or even care to do something since they already had pocket my 30 bucks.
Total disappointment, don't waste your money with them.

I ordered Strike It Rich bareroot rose plant in April 28, 2018 and followed the Eas step for Plant Success, but a week later I contacted customer service and a replacement was sent on May 18, 2018. After TLC, 3 tiny blooms appeared on the replacement in late August. I was hopeful this year the plant would thrive. However, the whole top of the plant is dry woody and the bare root doesn't appear any longer than when originally arrived a year ago. So disappointed because I had a J &P Tropicana rose that bloomed every year, for 8 years (in yhe 1980s) in a container on my patio. The weather and soil weren't the reason, as 70 ft away there is a lush rose bush that is more that 10 years old with green leaves are several red roses that us 4 feet tall!!!

I have ordered roses from J&P in the past so when I moved, I ordered from them again this year. What a mistake. All 3 roses were VERY spindly. Not at all what I expected for the premium price. The third one I ordered, was back-ordered and when it finally came it was tiny and fragile. It was in a quart size container, but when I went to plant it, the dirt fell away and it was clear the the root ball was only about 1" in diameter. Very disappointing and in my opinion misleading to customers. I am a very experienced gardener and I've order roses from many companies in the past. Never again from J&P!

I ordered 2 white dawn roses from J & P mid winter 2018 with an April delivery. I called to get an update, they just resent my order info. I was told they were not in and would be sent next week, 3rd week in April. I then went to their web site and read they were sold out. WHAT THE! So I emailed them another letter.. I’ll see what they say. I will probably call them back and ask to speak with their management!

Beverly Edwards-Cathcart I just contacted them regarding the 3 Wasterland roses I paid over $100 for and since all died this winter even though I followed all instructions they will not replace them because I called ONE WEEK after they said they would have been covered by their replacement policy. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

UPDATE: JACKSON AND PERKINS ASKED ME TO CONTACT THEM VIA PHONE which I did, and the whole thing was resolved in under 5 minutes. Because the plants that died were out of stock, I was offered a full refund for those plants, which of course, was totally acceptable to me. Great phone service, just don't attempt email.
*******Original Review: I wish I would have read these reviews before ordering from Jackson and Perkins! I had an identical experience! I ordered 5 plants and they came with no protection or packaging around the roots. Roses are fortunately famous for surviving under extraordinary circumstances so I was able to save three of the five plants. I've emailed J&P with pictures, etc., multiple times with no response, none. I can tell you that of the three plants that survived, the blooms were absolutely magnificent!

I ordered two Intrigue and one Angel Face florabunda roses. The root stock was pencil like and frail and all three failed to thrive and died. I have planted many bare root roses in the past and this year and they have always thrived. It cost me nearly $100 with shipping.
Stay away from Jackson & Perkins, Wayside, and Park City Seed.

WORST COMPANY EVER!! 9 DAYS TO RECEIVE A 2 DAY SHIPPING ORDER - I ordered a spring bulb basket 4 days before for my Mother's birthday and paid for 2-day expedited shipping. 3 days later it hadn't shipped and I was told it wouldn't ship for another 3 days. I told them to cancel the order and they refused stating they had already prepared the arrangement, even though they said they couldn't ship it for 3 more days!! I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN!! Their customer service is horrible.

Terribly disappointed. I ordered Elegant Lady rose for my friend who passed away in December. It was shipped in February and arrived with white stuff all over it. I took pictures just in case. I soaked the roots for 2 days and then it was planted in a large pot. It is all brown and dead and Jackson and Perkins will not send me a new one or refund my money.

I ordered 19 roses in February having trusted Jackson and Perkins in the past to deliver healthy and strong roses. The ones I received in March, I soaked in water for 48 hours and had a professional gardener plant for me. The canes on most of the roses were spindly and weak. Several sprouted leaves soon afterward tho very small ones and the canes continued to be very thorny and weak. I called J and P and received the advice from the rep to treat them with a solution of epsom salts and water every 2 weeks.I have done this twice and really don't see improvement. The plants are puny and small still and a couple of them haven't even sprouted leaves 2 months later.. I spent a lot of money with J and P hoping to get quality products but these roses are not at all what I expected. The 2 that have bloomed have very small blooms. I am counting on you to please make this situation right for me

I purchased two Admiration Barberry shrubs from this nursery. They were pricey, shipping was too, but other nurseries were out of stock. I knew they would be small shrubs, however I was NOT expecting half dead very tiny shrubs. The one shrub was missing an entire side. No branches, nothing on an entire side. The second shrub was packaged with dead brittle branches on one side and middle and had no leaves. These two shrubs were all that was in the box, so that was what they shipped me. The shrubs roots were totally dried out. I tried calling, but got disconnected when I explained how unhappy I was. I tried leaving a review and they refused to publish it. Then they email me asking for another review, which they refused to publish. I have ordered many times from other nurseries without incident. This was the first time ordering from not only Jackson & Perkins, but from their partnering company Wayside Gardens, who also as far as I am concerned took my money and sent me shrubs from a dead pile.

I was sent rose plants as a gift. They went into the ground five days after receiving, opening them 3 days and placing them in water for 48 hours as instructed. The box has no written instructions on the outside of the box, so I only knew to soak them once I opened them. Well, we had some extreme cold and hot days and some plants had trouble blooming on time but by april when the other roses were blooming, the 3 she sent me still had not sprouted. My neighbor told me that they were dead on arrival because I have a full garden of plants and there was not a reason for all three (different types as well, so none of them came from the same source, with the exception of where Jackson and Perkins stores and ships them). When I called Jackson and Perkins the customer service agent Katarina Jackson told me that I should have called them upon receipt to tell them that my plants were dead ( they are dormant) and that my dormant plants needed sun and water and the plants were shipped dry, without any moisture.
A Plant is dormant, it looks dead, did she expect everyone to call? I wish I would have read the reviews on trust pilot because this customer service agent was obviously reading some script because this is not a reality based reply to the situation.. This company has a history of shipping dead plants. Period.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER ONES THAT HAVE GOOD REVIEWS... RUN RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION

I bought 3 rose plants in February to plant in TX (2 Love and 1 Dark Night) - they all arrived dead. Probably because they came bare rooted, as in no peat moss or anything to keep the roots moist. All the branches were brown and not a single one turned green. I called them the first of April to report that they seemed dead since everything else here was in full bloom and was told to give it two more weeks watering with Epson salt and water. I did that, but no change. I called back to get replacements and was told that they only had the Love roses, so I got a refund for the Dark Night and after a week or so, got an email saying my replacements had been shipped. A week later they arrived with one or two out of 5 branches green - again with nothing keeping the roots moist. I soaked them overnight to replenish the moisture and planted them the next day. A couple of weeks later . . . no growth. I ordered a rose plant from Edmunds to replace the dark night rose and it came with peat moss around the roots. I planted it a week after I planted the replacement roses and it is now growing . . . but not the Jackson and Perkins roses, they seem to be dying. I requested a refund and received a partial refund, because I received a discount and they don't repay shipping. I paid a total of $95.41 and received a refund for $75.48. Lesson learned!!! I will be buying from Edmund's from now on - better quality and the same roses for less money!

Unbelievable! Jackson & Perkins used to be a name we could trust. It is no longer the company that we can buy healthy strong excellent Rose's. So disappointed
I ordered 5 Rose's and was told they all would ship at the correct time for planting in my zone. I only recieved 4. The 5th rose was on backorder. This alone was annoying as it was available at time of purchase. Otherwise I would have selected another.
Now the quality of the 4 was very poor to adequate. One with 2 stalks and 2 roots, another with 2 stalks but a healthier root system, the third with 3 stalks and the last with 4 thin stalks. This is not quality.
When I informed J&P there answer was if they dont show any growth in 2 weeks let us know. So caring! And I have to believe that what I recieve is what they consider quality.
I had issues with their answer. As any rose grower knows one stalk and one root will grow a rose. May be pretty sad looking and may take years to become a nicely shaped bush but it will grow.
About a month later I recieved am email letting me know my backordered rose had arrived and they would be sending out in about 1 week.
I waited but no rose or email regarding item had shipped. I finally contacted them. When they replied they informed me it was now no longer in stock. So once again they sold my rose to someone else.
What kind if company is this? I think it's the kind you run from. It is not the J&P of the past where you recieved excellent roses and service. It's just another mediocre company.

I had always thought J&P was a name I could trust, but I will never purchase from them again. After 3 rounds of being told when my roses would ship, I’m still waiting. Waited on the chat for 20 minutes, and at the end of the day I ended up having to call in anyway. I basically just got a “you’ll have to deal with it” response.

I was a J&P customer for 20 years. I've planted dozens and dozens of roses across 3 homes. But I've given up. I placed an order and they went weeks without responding. I can login and see the order, but it never shipped and nobody would tell me why. I called and sat on hold for 30 minutes. Then I used Live Chat, logging in 3 hours before they closed. After 10 minutes they said "no agents are available" despite posted closer of 8pm. The roses I got last year were puny and weak. I'm going to my local nursery instead.

Don't buy ANYTHING from these shysters! Id' give them NEGATIVE 5 stars if possible!! Spent $25 on a rose bush, it arrived dead and they refused to replace the plant or refund my money. They gave me some song and dance about me living outside the zone the plant would grow in, but there is NOWHERE on their site that states the guarantee is void if you live outside a certain zone (even if it's only about 5 miles according to their map). Zero integrity, zero customer service!!

Unfortunately, the Name JP Roses does not match quality. The present Company has serious quality control issues and nursery ground growing challenges as far as the roses , and I hope the company addresses the issues . Originally the bare root roses shipped to me were not Grade 1 quality , of which I sent pictures to the company. The canes were of small diameter , very few strong canes ,patches of dried brown , some canes broken, and others spindley twigs .The grafts was small and poor quality.
I invested -4 years into nurturing , pruning babying these roses and I have been rewarded with unproductive , massive ,thorny canes wiith minimal flower production— Roses look like wild , prehistoric roses. I have never seen anything like this in my 20 years of rose gardening. I suspect the root stock is what is growing or
It appears that the roses were infected with a virus or rosette disease from the growing ground.
BTW these roses were planted on a new property never previously planted with roses; the roses were sickly from the get go.
It appears I need to dig up and depose of all the roses. and wait two years to replant. I dont care about the money , of which , i think was closer to 500.00...but the sad fact as i lost the personal time I have invested to grow my rose garden.
The reason I am giving a score of 2 is for customer service-of which -admittedly was good in that they did replace several roses, and giave me credits for the next years roses.
BTW one rose was completely mislabeled.. I kept sending pictures to show them that the rose was not Yellow but Red and white. i was told to wait until the rose matured. so another year went by and wellla! it remained red and white. so they shipped me a new rose and guess what ? it too is red and white and not yellow. meanwhile 3 years have gone by! None the less - thegirl in customer service was always helpful and professional. however , she can not control quality.
Saddens me to write this review.
