Have complained from first month of having it installed that it was draining and killing my battery went and bought a new battery and still had troubles called multiple times to complain had it in sleep mode still drained battery had to be jumped all the time. Now in shop said battery bad but what is draining it!? Sure they wont admit it's their fault. Even the shop slipped and said they asked for a new component because it's that!

HORRRRRRRRIBLE company. I called to set up intoxalock on my car that my 21 year old is driving. We were concerned about safety but our action was not due to legal problems. I called and ordered the service, I provided a credit card and all of my personal information and I set up the service to install the device over the phone. I was told I would receive an e-mail with instructions and a rebate. NOTHING arrived-then when I called to get information-I was told "you are not authorized on the account" so my car, I am paying for it and I am not authorized to get information because when my daughter went to set up the account (the person with the disease of alcoholism went for the install-she ended up on the account-not her car-not her credit card???? and she did not set up the account-so AFTER 6 Hours-and many written attempts-I still have no resolution-my daughter is still primary on the account--worst customer service I have received in many years-my daughter will cooperate in any way but good luck if you want to get this company to provided you an intelligent being on the phone to resolve a problem.

Until this evening I had been without my truck for a day and a half. Initially I was comforted by a customer service rep Nate. Then he did what everyone there has done. Told me he'd call me back in 20-25 minutes and did now. I frantically tried calling him back as I sat in the service center parking lot. I had replaced the battery in my truck by myself the night before because there service center had the truck for 6 hours and did nothing. After speaking with them at 9 am when they opened I was told they would "try to get to it today." At 2.13pm i called the service center to check on the status and was told "they'd call me back in 30 mins and the vehicle was in the garage being finished up." The problem was that I was sitting in the parking lot looking at my truck when they said this to me. The truck had not moved. I also had left the keys in the cab of the truck the night before. I walked in to the service center and asked how it was going? They said the truck is fine and the engine cranks right up but they couldn't start it because the spare key I had hidden in a magnet box outside the truck for them to access the cab doesn't have a chip. I replied, " that's correct, and I told you where the chipped key was at 9am." I went out to the truck and the let's we're exactly where I left them. I almost drive off. They did not perform the diagnostic they told me they did, they did not pull the truck in the garage like they said they did, they did not communicate with me the way they said they would. I paid $106 and lost almost 2 days of work for them to tell me there was nothing wrong and the new battery I put in solved the problem. I've contacted my bank and reported fraud after paying because I didn't want it to end in a fistfight. Intoxalock has been unreachable during this whole ordeal and could care less that their service centers operate this way. Do yourselves a favor and go literally ANYWHERE else.

These people are disgusting criminals. They will treat you with respect when you are a customer. When it comes time for removal, they will treat you with no respect. I had some nasty midwestern witch over the phone charge me $108 for removal, intentionally decline to give me a tracking number for my 922 form for the DMV, and after following all the rules with the device and calling a week ahead of removal, I was told by the service center that they didn't send the 922. There is no reason I couldn't have received a tracking number. They charged me for 15 days when I had 4 days left on my last billing period. After making over $1000 off of me they treated me like I am worthless when time for removal came. I have tried calling twice to get the tracking number for my 922 and the customer service representatives cut me off mid-conversation when they realize I'm not a new customer and transfer me to a line where I am put on hold for 30 minutes, talk to a nasty person, and get put on hold again. This experience was a nightmare. Let alone the device I had for 8 months was distracting when it asked for breath samples while driving. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE CRIMINALS.

I get nothing but fees added on because the customer service is horrible. I had just gotten it installed and made a few errors and each time they charged me the lock out fee. I explained what happened and still . I was on hold numerous times for over 45 min. Missed my appointments twice. Car would not start it would ask to blow so I did and then it would say blowing and turn off. It should say sampling and passed. This is going on now for awhile/ and no help. You have to blow 4 to 5 times to get it finally passed and not just say blowing. Also it goes off a lot in short drive a and long drives . Almost got into 2 car accidents. And I feel out of breath. I get I got myself into this but I still deserve the help and not get robbed of fees. The device itself is huge . There are many other companies with less fees and smaller device. I am changing my devise and I am afraid to ask what they will charge to uninstall. 1,000 maybe. .never in my life have I encountered this service. I am a hotel manager if I sis this I would be fired . Thank you hope this helps others not make the mistake .

Intoxalock shows all great reviews while other unaffiliated sites paint a much grimmer picture of Intoxalock. This is no surprise given the shady business practices of Intoxalock.
STAY AWAY They are Crooks!
I'd give Intoxalock a Zero rating if it was an option. If you have the luxury of having a choice of interlock providers where you live, DO NOT use Intoxalock!!
I'll tell you what I found good about Intoxalock. Gage, the sales guy, that sold me the service with Intoxalock was very helpful and friendly. He made getting the ball rolling painlessly. That is where the joy ended, and the nightmare began.
Now the reasons not to use Intoxalock!
The device is huge. Others have better devices that will not cause you more grief than you are already going through. Unless you have a very large console in your vehicle there is no concealing it. The device looks and operates like they got the parts from Radio Shack and built it in their garage. The operation of the Intoxalock interlock device is very erratic. Sometimes it will sample and give you a green light in seconds other times it takes as much as 45 seconds before you can start your car. The mouthpiece often pops off and goes bouncing around and under the seat. This makes for a very dangerous situation if you are doing a rolling retest.
Good luck training yourself the proper way to blow into the device (how hard and for how long). A good 30% of the time it will error saying that you are not blowing hard enough or blowing to hard. It will then display "try again" 6 times for about 15 seconds. Sometimes you need to blow so hard that you get lightheaded. If you get a sick while having the device on your Vehicle. Be prepared to be sick the entire time. The chamber that you blow through is so long that it will harbor the pathogens and you will re-infect yourself.
If you live in a cold climate, the device will freeze solid preventing you from blowing through the device. It took 45 min. for Tech support to answer. Their less than brilliant solutions are laughable. Their advice was to make sure the device is stored vertically to prevent moisture from pooling in the device and freezing. This seemed logical to me until I realized that the design of the device prevents you from doing so. Then they recommended that I store the device in an oven mit. At 10 below zero this is useless!
The interlock device would randomly show a "weather" delay and start a 2 to 3 min warming up timer. At temperatures below zero there was no warm-up timer. 38 degrees it would delay with a warm-up timer. It was a crap shoot if this would or would not happen.
The cable connecting the device to your car is short. Causing you to lean down when blowing. Again, this creates a very dangerous situation when doing a rolling retest.
Intoxalock will do the good ole Bait and Switch on you. Lure you in with rebates and then once they got you held hostage Intoxalock will get you in the end. Intoxalock does not prorate monthly leases. Meaning if you have the device installed on your vehicle for 1 min more than your lease, you pay for another entire month. Example: If you are required to have the device on your vehicle for 6 months, you will be required to pay 7 months lease. This is because you cannot have the device removed until the State allows it. States count the Days the device is installed, and Intoxalock lease is monthly. Doesn't matter how many days are in that month. It is impossible to have the device removed before Intoxalock charges you another month lease. Interlock will also short you days on your last state required calibration. This will force you to pay for and take the time to do an unnecessary re-calibration. If you request to have all the data that they downloaded from your device for your records. It will force you to pay an extra $25.00 due to the unrequited calibration download.
STAY AWAY IF AT ALL POSSIBLE

So I have to get "recalibrated," and the beauty is that my court dates have all been postponed indefinitely. I was supposed to be able to get it off in April. I haven't driven my vehicle since March due to working from home and coronavirus. Then I'm being mandated by intoxilock to get calibrated, BUT I COULD ONLY BE HELPED IF I EXTENDED MY LEASE. I Then extended my lease to then get the bait and switch. I was told that they couldn't extend the deadline for calibration. The real question is, put my family at risk to get a car calibrated? This company is the ruthless. I have no problem paying money every other week, but putting me in a legally binding agreement out of leverage in their position is dirty. Scumbags

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY, At 1st it was fine, my truck just had a new engine installed and it died starting last week, so apparently in the middle of Corona virus, no work, no food, no money, they are charging me$75 for a "lock out" and another $35 to the shop recalibrating it. This is a HORRIBLE company, go with any ANY other breathalyzer company, just not this one. They will over charge all the time and you're forced to pay it. I'm strongly considering keeping my appointment today and having it REMOVED because there employees are incompetent to no end. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE company.

I was charged with my first (and only) DUI in April of 2018 in New Hampshire. After a 12 month license revocation, I was able to get my license back following the installation of an Interlock device. There was An Intoxalock installation center about 15 minutes from my house or a Draager installation center about 60 minutes from my house. Since I couldn't drive at this point, I chose the closer location as a convenience for the person driving me. Dear God, I wish more than anything I could go back and choose the other company. Losing your license is unbelievably stressful on its own but working with Intoxalock has made is so much worse. First of all, it is HUGE and the cord is always getting stuck around the bottom of my seat. They say you are supposed to pull over to blow but the device doesn't even give you time to do that. The panic alone from this device going off has almost caused me to get in numerous accidents. It says you have 6 minutes to test again but it honks every minute until you do. One morning, it asked me to do a rolling re test, I tried to blow but it wasnt reading that I was going anything so it kept saying missed retest'. Now I'm sobbing because I'm driving around my neighborhood with my horn honking at 6am as it keeps saying I'm missing the re test. I was too afraid to leave my neighborhood with it going off because I have no idea what would happen if it still didn't read the sample and the re test countdown was done. Finally I had to pull over and shut my car off and start all over. This was one of the many times the device has caused me to be late for work. One of the other great mornings I had with it was when the device was FROZEN INSIDE. Literally NO ONE told me I was able to unplug it and bring the device inside until I called someone that afternoon to try and figure out how i was going to survive a New Hampshire winter with this thing freezing. My saliva was frozen inside the device. Now that is a great way to show how sanitary these devices are. Another thing no one ever explained about this device...sleep mode. I was getting my device calibrated and there was another gentleman in there for his. I was of course complaining about the device killing my battery and he told me about sleep mode. Shouldn't someone explain this to you when you get it? The man that haD installed my device didn't even know about it. My battery has died so many times with this. Finally I got my battery replaced in April-it's now the beginning of May and the device has yet again killed my new battery.
This company isn't here to help people get back on track or be safe drivers. All they care about is money. 75 dollars for you to unlock my device? For someone I had no control over? I get that the DUI is my fault but when I am taking every step to correct the situation, that's just not fair. I have cried more times because of this device than I have in my whole life. This company is the reason why people with DUI's drive without their license. This company is the reason why people with a DUI's feel helpless and hopeless. I'm just trying to get through these last 6 months with this thing and Intoxalock makes me think why am I even trying? Why am I trying when I keep getting punished?' I'm already down and they just keep kicking.
And seriously, you couldn't have made it any more embarrassing? Try to have a little compassion here. I made one mistake two years ago and this company makes me feel like crap about it everyday. Thank you for making me feel horrible every time I get in my car.

I called Intoxalock with a question regarding my device and it really floored me how rude the customer service rep was. I was amazed at the impatient's and irritability that I was immediately greeted with. I so look forward to getting this bulky and awkward Intoxalock device out of my vehicle so that I never have to call or deal with Intoxalock again. AVOID THIS COMPANY,

I have been locked out twice because this thing sometimes will require a blow test when the car wasn't running. This could mean I left persons in the car with radio on and engine off. Theres NO reason I should be hit with Missed Test for that reason.
And don't ever have a beer when dining out. This thing will fail you if you blow a 0.03 and you're stranded (although it doesn't report you for this). I could see maybe if the device said "wait 5 minutes and retest" and if BAC is rising THEN make the driver wait longer. Remember it's not illegal to ingest alcohol and then drive a car. It is illegal if your Blood Alcohol level rises above 0.08.
Hate you very much. Thanks for the hilarious email inviting me to continue my intoxalock service AFTER my court order AND for a reduced fee! How nice of you guys. But imma have to go with F*ck you.

If your device malfunctions you are responsible to get the vehicle to the service center. If the service center is closed then you cannot drive your car. This is viewed as "your problem," a quote from Intoxalock. The level of customer service can only be compared to that of Comcast years ago. Hold times vary. Different information given depending on who you speak with regarding company policy. Their 24 hr technical support is a farce. This refers only to the person on the phone walking you through operating the device, and not someone who can actually fix the device so you can drive. They cover no costs whatsoever. They may wave a lockout fee, however you are still responsible for the service center fees. It is a racket formed to take advantage of desperate people. I am sickened by what my family and I have been put through the past 48 hours. The service centers are not held to a standard by Intoxalock. Between the instillation being done incorrectly and the ancient equipment that they put into your car, they should not be allowed to do business anywhere let alone in a first world country.

Well intoxalock has cost me. A lot of cash out of my pocketquestion additional couple hundred in fees that they said they would pay. With a PO number to comp out the $30 recalibration. I had to first get it calibrated within 2 weeks after having it not 2 months. Said I missed a ball. Which I did not. Took me an hour to get ahold of somebody. Then drive quarter mile down the road. And then stop to go to the gift cigarettes at a store. Here in Sonora California. They keep saying that the comp it out and then they get there and they say they don't do that when they have done it they keep choosing from one straw to the next first I going to do it and they're not they don't do it and sometimes they do if they cannot make up their mind what the freaking with straw in their head they want to pick they can't keep their story straight the customer service people are the worst ever they totally suck don't ever do this company they will piss you off go to a different company and Mabel cost you money and time take care. God bless and have a great day.yours truly [email protected]

Would not recommend. Intoxalock is a misleading company. On multiple occasions, I called to have help with my vehicle's device and was given varying information about resetting my vehicle and the included fees. I had to have my car towed 3 times because of this device draining my vehicle. During this COVID-19 pandemic a nationwide, multi-million dollar company continued with the fees showing no remorse for a loyal customer. Terrible.

I am a DUI attorney and I am embarrassed that I referred some clients over to this operation. They looked professional but they closed down their shop in my town for financial reasons and require my clients to drive over an hour each way to get it serviced. To make matters worse, they refuse to remove their interlock device so that a local interlock company can install their own machine. I called them, spent an hour trying to speak to a human being, and was given the run around.

Do not use this company. My car used to drive swiftly and amazing and I just got the car 3 months ago. 2.0 Turbo! All the sudden, After the install I now have obvious lag on every gear. I'm sure the company will say "well don't get a dwi then" or "we'll we only connect to the wiring of the starter, it won't effect anything" we'll, you messed my car up. Again. They have no right to completely mess up a persons car. Mine happened to be a very rare and expensive car. They love to call you a "customer" as to rub their stupid product in your face. I will take my time to sue this company for their product and their company recommending the installation company.

I honestly have no idea how this
I honestly have no idea how this company is this highly rated- short of buying reviews.
Been with this company for a number of years and they are absolute garbage.
Problems with their system every other month seems like and more than 3 of them were catastrophic failures preventing me from even starting my car or making it to the dealership to have it serviced.
Oh yeah, and it will definitely not start in -40F so be sure to keep your survival kit in this car so you dont freeze to death.
Add to that either incomplete or inaccurate (sometimes totally false) information, youd better be prepared for lockouts and extensions on your state's program in order to get your license back.
Most recently I received 180 day extension to my requirement because of something that's been malfunctioning for the past 6 months.
Oh, and you'll talk to 3 different people and receive 3 different responses.
Do your homework and you'll find others just as good and for a little less. I promise you.

Getting a DUI is stressful, and Intoxalock has only made it worse. I should have shopped around more, but they were the closest to where I live, and seeing as how I didn't have a drivers license at the time, I wanted to only drive a few blocks to get it installed. I should have just asked someone to drive my car the extra 30 minutes each way to go with a company like Smart Start.
First of all, my original phone call with them lasted over an hour. I understand this isn't like ordering from Amazon or the like. It is definitely more in depth, but an hour seemed extremely long and unnecessary. Also, I was told after signing up for auto-pay, I would receive a mail-in rebate for $100. I never got my rebate in any fashion. Also, I agreed (again, my fault for not shopping around) to pay $80 per month, as well as I $10 protection fee for my device. Many people in my alcohol education classes get their devices from other companies for as low as $60 per month.
A couple days later, I got my device installed for a whopping $125.After getting my device installed, I wasn't able to activate my account online. I called customer service before work one day. After an hour of being transferred from one agent to another, I had to end the call to get to work, I didn't anticipate it taking so long. Two more calls, and many more hours of waiting and being transferred, I basically had to beg an agent to help me. After she had asked me to start my device, she told me it was defective and that I should take it back to the service center. After waiting an hour at the service center the next day, they told me they needed to order a new device as it wasn't broadcasting any signal to Intoxalock. The installation was free, but I really feel like I should have been compensated for the original install for the trouble, I mean I'm dealing with Court, Probation, the DMV, and all other fun parts that come with a DUI. Intoxalock is only adding to the stress.
My new device was installed a few days later, and I do have to admit, it works rather well. From the time I get in my vehicle, I can start the engine in no more that 20 seconds. Even in colder weather, it doesn't usually take long to heat up either. I wish the sound it made for a retest was louder, as you usually can't hear it over the radio. The problems I've had with the device malfunctioning were twice when it kept saying "SYNC!" on the screen. The only information I get online is that it is "syncing with the controller" as if it were updating software I suppose. Twice this has been a constant cycle for hours of it displaying this message over and over. I had to contact customer service and they told me to unplug my car battery for 15 minutes to get it to work again. So all in all, with being on hold with customer service, I was stranded for an hour because of this thing.
Currently I am waiting to get my final download and get this hellacious device out of my car and my life. Do not waste your time with this company. Do not waste your money with this company. I have heard nothing but positive things about Smart Start, so if they are available in your area, i recommend them. I wouldn't recommend Intoxalock to anyone for any reason.

***STAY AWAY*** Customer service is terrible. I strongly regret selecting this company and feel stuck because of the court order. If I had known, I would have never done business with these people. For almost a year, right after device was placed in car, my car battery began to die up to 4 times a day. I called numerous times to report to call center and to service center. Advise provided did not correct issue. Finally 11 months later after dealing with this daily nightmare, I was given correct diagnosis by a different service provider but am now being charged for a "lock out" fee by Intoxalock. I called to ask why I had an additional $100 charge on my monthly bill and was told my car went into lock out when car toys was looking at it, but that it was still my fault and responsibility, despite my numerous requests for help in trying to resolve before that happened and despite the fact that it happened while car toys was working on it. I could not possibly be more disappointed in a company, the product, or the service provided. And the company itself seems to not care because they know their equipment is court ordered so the consumer is forced to continue to have device in car. Do yourself a favor and choose someone else. I wish anyone who took the time to read this the best of luck with another company.
