Avoid unless you want to be conned. I used Interrent in Malaga Airport August 2019 and I am 300 Euros out of pocket at the moment. I had the Super Relax Insurance cover added to my bill without me noticing. I always take out additional insurance to cover excess with a third party company and this year was no exception. I was not asked if I wanted the insurance it was just added. I was presented with a glass screen to sign so couldn't check the details properly. The Rep made it look like I was just paying a deposit for fuel and for any accidental damage. I have written to Interrent. They replied saying that all their Reps explain very carefully that customers have 2 options:
1. Pay a deposit; or
2. Choose the Super Relax
Yeah right! So I chose the extra insurance even though I had already purchased it from a third party - I don't think so. This company seems to turn a blind eye to its employees acting fraudulently!

Arrived at the desk in Marseilles airport. They asked me to pay more than 1500 Euros as deposit for (the world's fanciest car- Renault Megan). My card which has the default 1500 Euro day limit (a total coincidence) refused the payment. They refused to give me a smaller car with smaller deposit. They refused anything but to go with the full kasko option which will require little deposit BUT will cost me 140 euros which is more than twice the total rent I paid.
Outrageous. Never again with interRent.

Hired a car from God Car / Interrent included in our Jet 2 Villa Holiday. Pick up was OK, no problems, car was good etc but the problem came after it was returned. We opted for the full to full fuel policy as I have with every car hire over the past 15 years in Spain. I filled up on the way back to the airport as I always do and when I parked up I could see the fuel gauge needle still on full like Ive done so many times before. What they then clearly do is attempt to squeeze whatever they can get in on top of the already full tank, which as everyone knows if you try hard enough you can get a litre or two in if you fill it right to the top of the spout. They managed to get just under 5 euro worth in (this is all after I left and yes I asked them to inspect the car which they they said was not necessary). A day or two after my return I got an email saying thanks for my custom and an invite to complete a customer service questionnaire etc so I thought all was well. A few weeks later when I got my credit card statement I found they had charged me £55.88 with no explanation! I managed to fill in the on line query form and it took another week before I got a reply saying that the charge was for £5.88 worth of fuel and £50 for the service charge for filling it up!!!!!!!!!!! This is a massive scam where they go out of there way to find extra charges to hit you with to boost their profits that are hidden in overly complicated T&Cs with NO consideration for "reasonable" circumstances. I will NEVER EVER USE THESE PEOPLE AGAIN and I strongly recommend you avoid.

Arrived at Interent desk at Alicante following delays with flight from Bristol with Ryanair (suprising,I know). Passed over my booking to disinterested clerk who told me I was a 'no show'. "But I'm here", I replied. Told her I cannot do anything whilst stuck on an aeroplane. I didn't want to arrive over 2 hours late after midnight, honest. Car is fully paid for, please can I have a car I have 70 miles to travel.
"No, you're a no show"
So no car and lose the £80.
Don't use these jokers.

They charge additional costs (up to 252 euros more) that are not specified clearly in big letters in the contract in the conditions, or they block 1200 euros from your card. They also do not give back all of the fuel money and impose excessive penalisation, such as 60 euros for the fuel wasted from the gas station to the airport (not even worth 9 eur).
Also awful client service and everyone knows they are misleading and tricking so they have very bad attitude with customers.

I hired a car from Inter rent 11/09/19 and the queue for collecting was very long. I paid €104.15 from my credit card as a deposit re returning my car full
I returned my car full 16/09/19, filled it up at BP petrol station in Malaga airport and I watched Marino check the car and the fuel and he confirmed everything was okay and my petrol tank was full. I made sure that I stood and watched him do this although when returning the car at the office I was assured I did not have to do that! I am glad I did it as I have not received the full amount of the fuel deposit back onto my credit card I only received €88! I contacted interrent by email as they will not accept my information online but I have not received a reply or a refund of the balance!
I have now asked AutoEurope to check this for me as I always book my cars through them and they are great if I have any issues

I have just returned from Italy where I had hired a car through Interent/DoYouItaly. On arriving at the desk it was immediately apparent that the staff member was on commission as he tried to upsell me with a more expensive car straight away. Thereafter he said that my excess protection cover endorsed by DoYouItaly was worthless and insisted that I take out there cover at 130 euro, when I returned later after speaking with my wife they initially were going to give me a car, then realising that I wasn't taking there excess cover refused to give me a car, stating that my time had expired.
I wish that I had checked the reviews of Interent, but instead checked DoYouItaly, which was good.
Please be very wary of these companies.

I've just read some of the reviews on Interent and had the exact same pathetic experience of being denied use of my Credit Card because the name didn't exactly match that on my passport. Also just hit for the €61 fuel surcharge....tank was 7/8 full on collection. I pointed it out to them, had them write it on my rental document and photgraphed the display. Returned it 7/8 full and photographed the display. But I can't raise a complaint on-line....doesn't recognise Bergamo Airport as the pickup point....what a scam!
How do we deal with rip-off companies like this??

Better read reviews before choosing a rental company ....
We never will rent from Interrent or Goldcar again.
Rented a car at Malaga airport. First of all the employee lied to us about the insurance. We already had an insurance from both DoYouSpain and our Mastercard creditcard. The man behind the counter tried to make us believe that these insurance policies were 'worthless' and that we should therefore take an extra insurance policy for €225. Which is nonsense. So we did not.
For fuel we had the full-to-full option. Meaning we refilled our tank before returning the car. Afterwards it turned out that Interrent had added a `Smart Return` option to the contract. This option cost €14,95 and meant that every fuel level would be accepted. This was of course not requested, not agreed and not explained to us. We therefore did not know what this option meant. The value was deducted from the refund. First when we made a complaint the option was explained to us and the company stated `Our records show that the deposit has been processed correctly and the amount retained has been released`.
Compaining is not easy by the way. On the internetform the reservationnumber was not recognized. I have read similar reviews. I think that is by design.
Conclusion: Interrent / Goldcar will do everything they can to `cleverly` push up the price. I never experienced this at Herz. So next time it will be Herz again.

The worst experience of my life. Never gonna deal with them again. Absolutely unhelpful, rude and when i asked for a business card and lady’s name she told me for safety reasons she can’t provide me this information. I asked for manager’s name and she said it’s her (plot twist) and gave us the business card with her name in the end because she didn’t have a choice. We had to rent another car from different company at the end. She just refused to give us the car we paid for just because the credit card holder name was different than the driver’s name and she refused to move a finger to somehow help us with the problem and figure it out. Instead she “kindly” offered us to make a new 500€+ booking for a different car. We were trying to figure this all out for quite some time and in the meanwhile noticed other very unhappy customers (one of them asked to pay 3 times for different things, some came to complain they ask for 1000€ more deposit than stated on agreement...). Never ever gonna use them again. Total freud.

Arrived at Malpensa to collect a downgraded vehicle, albeit they said it was in the same catagory. They went on to inform me my insurance policy (full) which I paid for online as an upgrade was still not comprehensive and should be upgraded. So I paid the extra €100 for peace of mind and went on my way with the hope that would be the end of additional charges....not.
Having returned the car with a full tank of fuel, I was later emailed an invoice just 3hrs from its return for a fuel bill of €39. This is theft in my book and an unethical business practice. In future I’ll rent from a reputable provider rather than be scammed. If you buy here the chances are you will be mugged.

Booked Interrent via a search engine prior to arrival at Funchal, Madeira. On booking, I paid for extra insurance ect for peace of mind.
On arrival at Funchal, the rude and arrogant lady at the desk tried to scam me for a further 185 Euros stating that the minimum for a puncture repair would be 500-800 Euros! This would be on a Fiat 500, must be gold plated tyres! I spent 5 minutes trying to explain that I had taken out extra insurance but she was having none of it!
At this point I told her to stick her hire car where the sun doesnt shine and cancelled it on the spot. On attempting to get a refund speaking to an operator in UK, I was told no refund would be due. I am out of pocket to the tune of £90 to these crooks! Avoid at all costs and please do more research before booking, I wish I had!
If Interrent refund me, I am prepared to change my review, otherwise it stays!

A complete and utterly bad experience.
Landed in Ciampino Airport, Rome and upon finally arriving at their office 2,4 kilometers away from the airport (no information about shuttle to be found) we are told that we may have rented a car, but since it was booked through booking.com then the purchased all-inclusive insurrance was no longer valid. Then had to buy a new at the cost of 160 euro. Then we are handed the key to a different car than we have ordered. The new car is somewhat smaller than the on ordered and we are unable to fit our luggage into it. We are then offered a different car that is bigger, but we must of course pay 180 euro for this upgrade. We flat out refuse and after arguing for more than an hour we are offered the bigger car for 10 euro more. Being stranded in Rome in the late evening with a pregnant wife and two small children we have no other choice than to accept this.
Upon returning the car we go to the office and they want us to just leave the keys without checking fuel or damages. We insist on them checking this and they finally go with us. They then confirm the fuel level and that its damage free verbally and we are given a piece of paper that shows no damages, but it doesnt say anything about the fuel. They explain that we will receive an e-mail shortly that confirms that there will be no charge for fuel. We wait for this in about twenty minutes and when we dont reveive this e-mail we ask them to confirm in writing that it was returned with a full tank. Now what seems to be the manager takes over and she pulls my rental agreement out if my hands, goes to her desk, rips the paper while wrinting the confirmation and stamping it. The torn and wrinkled paper is then thrown on the counter while she speaks angry words that we were unable to understand. I take the paper, check her writing, give her a smile with a thumbs up while saying thank you for an unforgettable customers service.
We will never suggest anyone to use this company or their services! Stay clear and find a serious car rental company. Incompetent workers and managers, a devious business concept and a unforgetable level of service.

Car hired from Murcia. All was okay except for a charge on the invoice stating MiFi.
They ask you to sign an electronic pad on the counter without seeing any documents. Foolishly I took everything in good faith, signed and only noticed the charge when my credit card statement came through (all other bonds had been refunded by Interrent).
Didn't know what MiFi was (WiFi in car - like I need that!) and wasn't mentioned when car collected.
Queried it through DoYouSpain and they said Interrent wouldn't refund.
Ask to see what you are signing for before you scrawl on the electronic pads! Better still, only sign a piece of paper that you have read.

Very disappointed with this rental company, not helpful at all, hidden charges etc. Very slow check in.. 90 mins? I had booked a large car to take 5 adults and our luggage and I was given a 2008 Peugeot 1.2!! I asked for a larger car and was told there was nothing else although their car park was full of cars!!! Not helpful at all, the car did NOT suit our means and spoilt some of our plans. I will NOT be using again and still waiting for my deposit to be returned!!!! I highly recommend you pay a little more and go to a good company....

Do Not Use.
Booked a full to full policy from Alicante airport. On driving to our destination an amber warning light came on. We had to drive back to the airport to exchange the car. We were told we'd need to pay deposit again as this rental period wasn't over. After asking to speak to a manager they agreed to transfer the deposit.
After returning the car at the end of our holiday they signed to agree there was no damage and the fuel tank was full.
You can imagine my surprise when I was then charged €32 fee for a " diesel car benefiting from lower fuel consumption " plus €15 for smart return "invade I'd decided not to return the car with a full tank".
I have emailed the company several times with no response.
Total rip off and should be avoided!!!! Had i known Interrent were linked to Hold Car i would never have booked with them, equally as terrible!

I rented a car with interrent in Mallorca, through a broker website. I was expecting a hard selling pitch to sell me more insurance but nothing could have prepared me for how it actually was. We waited in line for 2 hours to get to the desk. The agent tried to charge me straight away 300+ euros for the insurance without even asking if I agreed, with my card already in the machine! I stopped him immediately and asked for more information. He became suddenly rude and aggressive, he started to say I was driving without insurance (not true) and they were going to charge me for any damage to the car. I agreed for them to take the deposit and another round of rude and aggressive pitch came. Honestly I've never seen anything like that. All companies try to sell more insurance and it's fine but this was over the top in every way. The agent didn't say he hoped I was going to have an accident but it was clearly implied. When I kept refusing he angrily snapped my credit card from the desk without asking for permission and put it on the machine to charge the deposit fee! Also I didn't ask for a diesel car and they gave me one, with an additional tax to pay.
Then the car was in good condition but THEY DEACTIVATED THE PARKING SENSOR!!! The car kept telling me "the parking sensor are deactivated please be careful"... I was fuming! I rented with other companies and never seen anything like it.
At the end nothing happened and I wasn't charged anything but it was a week of anxiety, not the best for an holiday!!
Never ever again with this company.

Never again. All was going well until I refused to take out their insurance, tried to explain I had my own excess insurance but the guy behind the counter at Palma airport became extremely rude and aggressive. "It will cost you €1100", why? because the car WILL be damaged - "99% of cars are returned with damage". Spoilt my holiday, I will never use this company again and advise anyone to avoid.

Hired a car from them in Alicante for three days. Car returned full of fuel as per their policy. When I returned the car I asked them to inspect it but they said there was no need.
Received an email from them later that day saying they were charging me 61 euros for fuel.
They are basically uncontactable, contact form on their website always says there is an error (rental location) so it is impossible to complete, live chat and phone operators are unable to deal with past bookings.
Absolute scam. Booked via Argus Car Hire who have until Monday to resolve this before they get a review, even if this is resolved I would advice avoiding interrent.

Inter Rent is a very disfunctional company. AVOID AVOID AVOID they tried to charge us £150 for an insurance that we didn't need telling us that the fully comprehensive insurance we had with the broker was invalid, although our broker insisted that we already had fully comp. They also tried to charge us £80 for arriving late to pick up the car, eventhough we had booked the car for 5 days. It made no sense as the car we had booked was parked up outside, so i don't know why this charge was asked from us. After arguing with Bi, which by the way has 0 customer relationship ability, she said 'well just give me £50 instead of £80' just like we were bargain hunting in a flee market. There were three people waiting to pick their cars up and all three received the same horrible service we did and two ended up leaving without a car. So unprofessional, out to get your money!!!! So read the small print before you go and take screenshots to prove that when you made the booking you had fully comp, tank full to full and that you have put the right time for collection because my time was changed and i, according to them 'arrived late'. Or simply avoid this horrendous company. The only decent person on their premises is Cherubin! He went beyond his abilities to help us sort the mess, that nearly ruined our holiday, out.

It’s hard to believe all these bad reviews.
I had brilliant experience with them.
Booked the Key&Go option, good price, medium car.
Arrived to Madrid Airport, easy to find, scanned my barcode, keys dropped down and off we went.
After driving 450 km to Murcia and we notice no windscreen wipers 😂
After 2 minutes phone call we were arranged a replacement car from local airport and was upgraded as well.
Return easy and hassle free as well.
Honestly I can’t fault them.
