I wanted an epos system that would happily integrate both high street and on-line trading formats. After a period of research, I opted for the Intelligent Retail (IR) Connect System. I would not be involved in the day to day running of the business and wanted a system that would work well for my teams – allowing them to do what they needed to do for the efficient and smooth running of the business and me to pull off relevant reports as and when needed.
During the build process several sessions of training were given and a helpdesk service available post “Live date” for ongoing help and support.
The two people i was most involved in the process with - Adam (Sales) and Bethany (Project Team) were fantastic and especially Bethany, the patience of an angel, even with my increasing deadline demands and tweeks to design and layout. Thank you both.
I knew exactly what i wanted and how i wanted it – I R delivered on my brief. For that I am grateful. The website is live and working well.
I look forward to the system going into my high street shops shortly

Just starting out with Epos with a shop,cafe,restaurant and membership scheme. All very new to me. They have been extremely helpful in the office, the help line, and also John the trainer who really made me believe that I could the setup.

We had our website updated to responsive and the process was smooth and if any tasks that were beyond my capabilities Bethany stepped in and got them resolved.
I had an idea of what I wanted and if I wasn't happy with anything with regards to design/layout it was sorted - it did help that i'm capable on Photoshop to get my ideas across.
There is also an easy work planner to keep things on schedule.

We have been with IR for close to 3 years. The integrated till is loved by staff and customers. One of our new members of staff says its the best till she has ever used. Poor System and service.
Never works correctly, system does not automatically connect and update, contrary to them telling you it does.
Quite frankly poor software, followed by poor service, followed by poor excuses!

We've been using Intelligent Retail for our retail stores for over 5 years now and couldn't imagine a better system. The software manages our stock, tracks purchases and sales, has great reports and everything is intuitive and straightforwards.
It also really makes our job of training retail staff much easier - the point of sale process is so easy that staff can pick it up instantly. As we expand into online sales, we've found the process to be just as seamless, making selling online a breeze. When we have had questions, the support team have been patient, friendly and helpful and we've had no issues at all with getting what we need quickly.
Being able to manage everything in one place is absolutely ideal and we'd have no qualms about recommending Intelligent Retail to anyone.

Intelligent Retail Connect is a good epos system with lots of potential and probably the best multi-channel option for SMEs on the market. However, the lack of competition seems to have led to a disappointing sense of complacency from the company in terms of its processes and investment in client/project management.
Individually, staff are excellent; extremely patient and knowledgeable. But they are let down by low staff numbers, absent management and ineffective project management systems.
The system is very versatile, but there are fundamental issues with its design which make it difficult to use. For example, it was clearly originally designed from an IT perspective so crucial functions such as reporting and corrections are ridiculously complicated for a layperson, take multiple steps and would be impossible to find intuitively (or repeat without the helpdesk talking you through the steps). Previously, I used the Epos Now epos system which is a more basic, cheaper offering, but with no website or inventory integration, and its reporting and functionality are incredibly intuitive and user-friendly.
Project management is passive and there is no escalation process when things are not going well - this is a failing in the company structure, not a reflection the individuals who seem to be doing their best without proper support. While I am very happy with the end result of my website, it was a very painful process and with better management would have been delivered months earlier. The web designers have done a great job with the functionality and overall design of the site, but they are not graphic designers and I spent a lot of time trying to get the website images looking right when someone should have just said this isn't their strength. In the end I reduced the number of images on the site and got a graphic designer to do the addition images in half a day.
My background is corporate communications and I have provided IR with direct, constructive feedback on several occasions. This took me considerable time and effort, but it has not result in any change of approach or acknowledgement from anyone senior within the operational side business. In frustration, I wrote a detailed, honest, review outlining my experience on Trustpilot and only then did anyone take action. Surprisingly it was someone from the sales side of the business rather than management sales person who got in touch.
I really want the company to improve as I have invested a lot of time and money, as well as the future success of my business in Connect. As I've said, previously, I would love to speak with someone within operations in IR about my experience and to feel that my constructive feedback has been heard, taken on board and that there are plans for improvement. However, so far, I have only been approached via the sales team and through Trustpilot. Therefore, my honest opinion remains that other businesses considering an epos system should think very hard before investing the future of their business with IR.

After my recent review I just had to come back again about a new feature we had added to our system, we started in February and I wanted to make sure my review reflected our experience so have waited a few months. We used to work with a reviews company that didn't integrate with Google so decided to change and ended up choosing Feefo (Sorry Trustpilot!). Intelligent Retail have the option to integrate with Feefo with their responsive websites and we have been seeing great results. Our sales automatically get sent to Feefo to trigger requests from our customers and the feedback we have received is an invaluable way to measure the quality of our customer service and products. We have now started to see the product reviews coming through and showing on product pages on our site. Our customer service reviews show on every page of our site giving new customers the confidence that we take our customer service seriously. The set up by Intelligent Retail was quick and easily integrated into the look of our site and it's worked without problems over the last few months.

I have just launched my website with Intelligent Retail and I was quite nervous about the whole experience. However they were all extremely helpful and patient with me and the site is all I hoped it would be. It looks great, easy to navigate and I can add products at my leisure. I now have to market it but I feel that I have a good site to show to the world, it is now up to me to get the world to take notice. I recommend the team at Intelligent retail very highly.

We have been a client of Intelligent Retail since 2009. We have been very pleased with the system and it does everything we need, it manages our in store stock and customer sales, loyalty system and customer accounts and all of our online activity via our website, GoytMill.com and our ebay stores simply and efficiently. Without the Intelligent Retail system we wouldn't have been able to grow our online sales to what they are today. The system is very simple to use and if you want to add stock to sell online or via ebay or amazon its a case of drag and drop the product to the sales channel window. The system talks with all of our sales channels and has managed to reduce our stock holding of multiples of the same product, increase product lines meaning more choice for customers and reduce stock errors as the system synchronises with all of our sales channels seamlessly. Over the past year we, and several other retailers, have been working directly with Intelligent Retail to make improvements to the system, improvements that small and medium sized retailers really need and they have been fantastic to work with, very open minded and very amenable to our suggestions and all I have to say is working with IR is a brilliant partnership.

IR is a good company staffed in the main by a lovely team of people who really seem to genuinely want to help you. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is that their EPOS system can at times be a little clunky and inflexible, but overall I'm really happy that I bought my till software from them.

I went to the NEC looking for a simple till for my shop, but ended up meeting Intelligent Retail, who showed me I could have a Till and control my website very easily in one place. It's all up and running now and very impressed with the customer service provided. Especially impressed with the introductory training. Highly recommended!

I had my fully integrated website from Intelligent Retail since 2008 and can honestly say that it was such an easy process from inception to delivery. The simple drag and drop functionality made managing it a breeze too. The In-house SEO and Marketing team increased the natural traffic ten fold whilst I was on the programme which provided a great ROI.
I would have no problem in recommending Intelligent Reatail to anyone, it's a fantastic system to manage your inventory, online orders and customers from one place.

Things have begun to improve, better service and far more helpful staff than before. We have gone forward with a new site which is currently under build, so cannot yet rate them on that side of things.
Have to say that there are still several features missing from the system that need to be addressed, any requests you put through appear to join and endless list and never really get a look in.
All in all, much better - increased rating to 3 stars, will be back to update once we see how the website build - so far, so good.
The ePos system is ok, few glitches however it does work (most the time) however we have had major issues with our website.
Customer service is terrible, you are constantly chasing them and they never get back to you. We have many outstanding issues going back many months with promises that they will be fixed - they never are!!
We are looking to move away from IR, however it has been a massive investment and we cannot afford to at this time.
I would not recommend buying a system off this company, they certainly talk the talk when looking at the system, however once you have paid up, it is a completely different situation!!

It is a windows based system so it is extremely easy to understand and use for most Windows users. Works brilliantly in our gift shop and also eBay and Amazon shop. The only negative comment I have is that support team is quite often too busy (you can hang on the line for 30 minutes waiting for someone) and also working ours could be better, no support on Saturday and after 5 pm on weekdays. Other than that we are happy, a lot of useful reports, and providing your data is entered properly I really believe this system can have a huge impact on your business. Worth saying that it is also sensibly priced. Shame it is not available as app yet but apparently they working on it.
