The 5 hour time frame was honored. Lots of substitutions due to stores being out of things. But I got 2 different types of honey and there seems to be no recourse.

3/30/2020 I was charged $2.99 for sourdough bread. It did not arrive with the order. I can not find the pathway on their web site to report this.

After about 50 tries i finally got an order in. The shopper delivered the order and i failed to unpack and check the items a big error. The shopper bought two frozen dinners i didn't order. I can't return the Wrong food, because the shopper fails to deliver the store receipt. I received a prompt refund, but had to deal with two poor TV diners. To save another trip to the store, I placed a 2nd order the next week. It took three days to get a shopper. This woman marked my milk found and I can only assume it was purchased. But it was not in my bags so it must have ended up in her car trunk. I marked no substitutions on the other items and there weren't any. I also had to guide the woman to my condo building since she got lost. Instacart refunded the items not found, but not the milk. There were two charges pending on my credit card which I'll have to monitor, another problem to deal with. My feedback to them was not kind. No one answers phone calls. So beware, "you pays your money and you takes your chances".

My first 2 shoppers were ladies and they did a great job. The last 2 were men and they couldn't find what I wanted even when I knew the items were there. I had just seen the items in the store myself. I just feel like I'm wasting my yearly fee because I have to go to the store myself. Also I had put in specific directions on how to get into my building and the shoppers say they can't see those directions. The system needs work. Not happy

Wish I'd looked at reviews first, but it probably wouldn't have mattered. I need groceries delivered to stay at home, so I'm experimenting with delivery choices. I used Instacart three times and thought it was okay the first two times. The deliveries were on time (all three), and the food was at appropriate temperature. I don't like having to substitute items, so being flexible wasn't easy for me. That's a store issue, though. The third time with Instacart was the real problem. The shopper, who was nice via Chat, helped with a substitution but failed to note replacement on my account. I was charged for the item I didn't get. Apparently, there is no way to fix this issue, as I wrote to the company without any resolution. My own "fix" in the future, if I use them, would be to ask the shopper at the beginning of Chat to let me know when they're about to check out so that I can communicate one last time before Chat ends. With this "system," I could have let the shopper know of the error in charging, as I could see it online. In these times of more limited choices, I can't say I'd never use Instacart again. Other than the charging error, I thought they were a reasonable choice. But, I'll still be looking around for others.

I placed an order on Mar.28 with Instacart but when delivered the representative claimed that my order could not be completely filled because there was insufficient funds. The amount approved for the order on my credit card was $117. The store receipt was $37.15 however Instacart charged $97.67 to my card. I have tried to contact them by phone and the wait time increases while I'm on hold. I've sent two emails but haven't heard from them.

My first instacart delivery was excellent and my second instacart was terrible. I don't have confidence in their support a they don't really care about what they're buying for you and as an elderly person with special needs, I need what I say I want. There are no guarantees with Instacart, you may get a good shopper and then again you may get one who doesn't give a care. I don't trust them, and I'm over a barrel because I cannot shop on my own with spinal stenosis. I miss Peapod who instacart forced to leave Illinois. :(

I placed 6 order in March 2020. The first four were fine in every way. The fifth order was delivered with no bags, and 16 items were placed on my garage floor, as the shopper advised me he had no bags, along with a bit about his financial troubles. When I checked my receipt later, I had been charged 70cents for bags I never got. My sixth order: threw away half rotting sliced mushrooms, threw away 1/2 each of the cucumbers I received as they were soft, and, instead of the cabbage I ordered, I got a head lettuce. Also, I had typed out a question for this shopper and never got an answer. He didn't even ring the bell to see if I was home, just left all on the front porch, and made his way off as quickly as possible. My first four orders all rated five stars. This is a great service and I tip generously in appreciation, but my last two shoppers left a lot to be desired.

Several items advertised in larger quantity, I order and, instead, received only 1 item. Very frustrating! See examples attached.

I've used Instacart twice and both times my groceries showed up almost a half hour before the beginning of the time range that I chose. I just don't understand why they ask for a 1-hour time range if they never plan to show up within that range.

we live within 3 miles of Publix, and had 2 wonderful deliveries from instacart. The 3rd one was awful: forgot our mop in the back, and did not deliver any of the refrigerated items. When called, they said do not contact the store - of course not, don't rock that boat. But we did, drove down and got the rest of our order BECAUSE THE PERSON SAID IT WASN'T HER FAULT AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON SAID DON'T GO BACK TO THE STORE TO PICK UP OUR ITEMS. Asian dude, probably Chinese...

I love the convenience of someone shopping for me and delivering. I am a working mom of 2 busy young kids. I like Instacart so much that I signed up for monthly service so I wouldn't be charged for each delivery and service fee. I am now very leary if ordering fresh fruit and vegetables due to the last couple of deliveries where I got molded and bad strawberries. Customer service was also terrible. It's so loud in the background I could barely hear the guy I was speaking with. I was told I'd get a credit or refund and it didn't happen. I had to call back. Amazon Prime Now Whole Foods delivery customer service is much better. Just inform them that an item was bad and get automatic refund. Step it up Instacart. There's too much competition

My son is in another state interning after his graduation from college. The company for which he is interning provides housing but not food. So to help him get started since, it's as if he's on his own setting up a home for the first time, my daughter and I found a grocery store that works with Instacart. We had close to $300 in groceries delivered to him through Instacart. Now giving credit where credit is due, the woman that brought the delivery to him was great. She texted him when she was close to his residence and made arrangements with him to be sure they would connect without a lot of trouble. Excellent service on her part. And she provided him with a receipt of the products delivered. Now the problem was that the receipt online and the actual receipt did not match. The online receipt was about $25.00 more than the actual receipt. I was charged a tip and a service fee AND WAS NOT refunded for the difference in the price. Am I wrong to demand a refund of the difference? I was expecting to pay more than the actual costs, but since it costs less, why should I not receive the difference returned? I sent an email informing Instacart of the discrepancy, with copies of both receipts Aliyah, who responded, replied in a very timely manner. We went back and forth several times and the same line was used repeatedly, "we can not refund you the difference." Why not?

I have had three deliveries. Two were from Wegmans and one from Aldie. The shoppers were polite, efficient and on time. Although it is a bit pricey with tips and fees it is convenient as I walk with a cane and getting groceries into my townhouse is a chore. I was delighted UNTIL
I looked at my receipt and saw I was charged $2.59 for cantelopes on sale for 99 cents each and 99 cents for avocados on sale for 59 cents. I called and was told Instacart does not honor store sales. The price you see when you place the order is it. So they paid 99 cents when they checked out and they charged me $2.69. It is not a huge amount but stiffing me for $3.20 on top of the other fees irks me

I've been using Instacart for grocery delivery for a few months now with very good service (correct items, timely delivery). The only reason I can't give it a 5 is because the website is so slow now (it didn't used to be). There is a script that continually runs on the webpage that makes the page stall when moving from item to item. It takes forever to place an order now. If I choose to stop the script, the page looses the options to add items to the cart so I can't order at all. Because of this I may have to switch to a different service, it takes me forever to just build my cart before checking out now. I've tried using google chrome and IE, same experience with either browser.

I am an e!Carly woman on a fixed income. I do not drive and use Instacart. I have a very s!I'm margin at the end of the month and carefully plan my shopping. When I am charged for items I did not receive, it throws my plans off. Instacart did offer to credit me but to reorder these things means I must spend another $35 I do not have at the time.

Does Publix honor advertised BOGO? Why when I click on bananas I get not a bunch but (1) banana and when something is left off my order I must go to the store to try and make it right.

As a shopper, I'm quite satisfied with how everything works. Keep in mind, this is a meant-to-be SIDE JOB as an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR. Though Instacart does what they can, they have very little control over the quality of customer service each driver provides. I found that dressing professionally, consistently staying in contact with each customer, and treating the customer with care and respect goes a long way in terms of how much money you'll make. I was surprised to see a majority of customers complaining about the downright awful customer service, considering half of your paycheck is tips. It's simply a waste of gas and time if you aren't going to put any effort in.
The Bamko Brand insulted gas I got from the Instashopper App were an incredibly good deal. Couldn't even find a better deal after searching through Walmart, Kroger, and ALDI. Plus I've found many other uses for them, so the money was well spent.
To customers: don't give up hope yet, there ARE good delivery drivers out there who want to provide excellent customer service and treat you like you deserve to be treated. And don't blame Instacart!!! They're doing the best they can. The extra fee you're paying is SUPPOSED to be for the convenience and service delivery drivers provide. I'm extremely disapointed to see so many customers struggling just to get decent customer care. DRIVERS it's YOUR responsibility to provide excellent customer service as an Independent Contractor. All of the responsibility falls on you. If you aren't going to care about the job one bit, do the rest of us a favor - the ones who actually go above and beyond for their customers - go get a job where they don't care about the quality of service. You're doing nothing but wasting your gas money and making the rest of us look bad.

They are convenient when you can't push a heavy shopping cart around the store. And paying them a couple extra bucks so I can do something while they are doing my grocery shopping is worth my time and energy that I don't lose at the market

I love the convenience of Instacart, but their markups are really substantial. I received a store receipt with my order. I was charged $408 by Instacart (not including the tip for the shopper) for $319 of stuff from Costco (based on the store receipt-- I paid damn near $100 for this delivery). Gasp. Oh well, lesson learned-- time to get my lazy butt out there and do my own shopping.

I love the idea that I can have food delivered to my door, the person who delivered it did a good job and we could work out the kinks in time I can live with $145 a year for delivery and the service charge, that was workable. It was the tip, that pushes it over edge, its an optional 10% 20% no other option. But if there was another option it still pushes the price that extra inch over what Im willing to pay and feeling bad over not tipping will send me to do my own shopping. Bummer

First of all people need to stop concerning themselves with the amount of money other people are making. Instacart does not employee the drivers/ the people who deliver your items. They are independent contractors who use their own car, gas, up keep so on. Even toll roads.
They are not paid by the hour only on each delivery they do and its not 20-25 dollars. its under 10 dollars. And for those of you who don't tip or tip 10% which is a shame, because even in restaurants its 25% you don't want to pay the person who did you a service.
Anyone who says o, they got paid already I dont want to pay them twice is rude.
You are not paying the delivery person because you are paying a surcharge to use the app, or any other fee, that the company wants you are only paying for your (items, groceries) That is nasty and rude not to pay someone who did a service you did not want to do. and for those who tip on the app, why not tip in the person hand. Because who is to say that I get my tips from instacart. there have been several days where i see no tip. I have no way to see if you actual tip unlease they say I have tip.
Instacart delivery drivers are people and not animals. Instead you have customers being nasty, This is a one person job, and when you know what you order to sit on your ass and not help get your groceries to your door especially as a man is shamefull. Then not tip on top of it. Order 2 months worth of food and water not leave instructions how to get to you at night when office has closed.
The people who live in high rise buildings your order is not the only order deliver person has in their car. It is right for you to come to lobby to receive your items as you know your building and not right to walk blocks in your building to

Instacart def has a lot going wrong with their policies. But just FYI the shoppers are told to replace your items because insta wants the prices, the shoppers are told what to replace with and have no real say. When they want to check in with customers to okay it most dont respond (you need to be near your phone) or insta doesnt connect them properly.
Trust me the shoppers Work really hard and their tips are now just subtracted from hourly wage...they make hardly anything and are on call for 10-12 hours a day!!
Instacart has a service fee that you do not need to pay just waive and save !
The coupons online say 35$ minimum with first order so do that and youre fine!
Yes prices are inflated but you shouldnt have a store receipt that is against policy to pay for the company and your driver and shopper they need to make money so they inflate prices otherwise this service wouldnt make any money and wouldnt exist.
Customer service is rough talk to your shopper they can help a lot and if you at by your phone you can say no to items you dont want to replace with and add in items at any time during the shop/ you can text youthem shopper and even call them thit whole shop if you have questions Etc
Please understand the shoppers have a lot going on see Instacart lawsuit...they are working and truly unappreciated in every way
Instacart is a great idea and hopefully with the shoppers pushing for change it can become an amazing service ! And okay job

I thought it was strange that they swapped one dish soap brand I chose (at Costco) for another, the other being twice the price. The dish soap I chose was NOT out of stock at Costco. Lots of other comments say something similar - that more expensive items were swapped w/o reason. I hadn't heard of Instacart....was given a gift certificate which I used to get cleaning, personal, pet, and paper goods. I prefer to get my own food items. Instacart can be convenient to use on occasion - if you have a broken arm/leg or the flu. I wouldn't write them off completely, but (in my opinion) it's not cost effective for the average person who can drive to the store and do their own grocery shopping. The only thing saved is time.
