With the Corona virus pandemic I decided to give Instacart a try. I filled my cart , paid and was told delivery would be in 5 hours. 5 hours stretched to 9 and then a notice that it wouldn't be happening today. Okay I understand, however why couldn't they have told me in the first place that delivery time slots are filled for the next 7 days?? I cancelled my order. Thanks for wasting my time.

I placed an order on the April 2nd and it was set to be delivered April 7th at 3:30p. My order was delayed 4 times and then eventually cancelled. I was told to "re-place" the order on the website, but there were no times available, thus not allowing me to re-submit the order. I tried tweeting, DMing the @Instacart page, Calling the support line (not working at the moment),and using the chat function which quoted a 25min wait time. after 2 hours and no response from Jonathan, I decided that I wouldn't get a resolution from Instacart and decided to never use them again, unless there is a way they plan to fix this issue that they caused, leaving us without essential groceries.

The app is fairly straightforward and there are multiple grocery stores using Instacart. However, there are serious problems. First, the Instacart shopper (who picks up your groceries) communicates with you via your text messaging system; but, you cannot communicate back with him. Instead, you are supposed to use the "chat" feature within the Instacart app. As another viewer commented, it is impossible to navigate. I spent my business career in technology and would be considered close to being an expert. But I could never get the chat feature to work. When the order was delivered, I wasn't able to receive it directly. 6 of the 11 items ordered and paid for were missing. There was no way to communicate with the "shopper". I called Instacart and was on hold for 90-minutes. It would have taken at least another 90-minutes to talk to customer service. I gave up. I sent in an online a problem report. It has now been 8-days and I have heard nothing. I've given up on Instacart and all the stores who use their service. Try Whole Foods for online ordering and home delivery. I've used them twice with perfect results. They don't use Instacart!!!

I ordered groceries about a week ago...the guy that got my groceries (Ramiro R.) bought himself 2 protein powders for 75 dollars and a shaker bottle for 10 dollars and put it on my card. I have done everything i can to reach instacart and they have never replied. Forget calling them because they will never answer your call. This is the worst experience and i highly recommend not using them unless you want to be stolen from.

If your goal is to not have to go to the store. Forget it. They only get about half the stuff you wanted and you will have to go to the store to get it.

I waited a week and paid extra delivery charge to get toilet paper. Then, hours before scheduled delivery, was asked by text if napkins would be an acceptable alternative. I wouldn't wipe my ass with this delivery service again.

What an absolute nightmare! Out of my entire order - I must have gotten 5 items that were correct. They don't respond to emails - nor do they answer the chat or pick up the phone. Stay far far away! I cannot stress this anymore than I have!!!

The man who was getting my groceries was non responsive and then brought me the wrong groceries, one of which was mushy avocados that had gone bad. I called Instacart to go get my money back and was waiting for over 2 hours to speak with them, only to have them disconnect the line before I could speak with anyone.

Wish I'd looked at reviews first, but it probably wouldn't have mattered. I need groceries delivered to stay at home, so I'm experimenting with delivery choices. I used Instacart three times and thought it was okay the first two times. The deliveries were on time (all three), and the food was at appropriate temperature. I don't like having to substitute items, so being flexible wasn't easy for me. That's a store issue, though. The third time with Instacart was the real problem. The shopper, who was nice via Chat, helped with a substitution but failed to note replacement on my account. I was charged for the item I didn't get. Apparently, there is no way to fix this issue, as I wrote to the company without any resolution. My own "fix" in the future, if I use them, would be to ask the shopper at the beginning of Chat to let me know when they're about to check out so that I can communicate one last time before Chat ends. With this "system," I could have let the shopper know of the error in charging, as I could see it online. In these times of more limited choices, I can't say I'd never use Instacart again. Other than the charging error, I thought they were a reasonable choice. But, I'll still be looking around for others.

I was charged for a grocery delivery I never received. The Ralphs store said I need to contact instacart but the wait for their helpline is 117 minutes with no option of leaving a callback number. Their site also said that there was a way to chat with customer support, but there was no chat option. It's a scam so check with your grocery store to see if their delivery service uses instacart.

I agree with the other low raters here! I tried Instacart today for the first time, and it was definitely a bad experience! The shopper woman made several mistakes, charged me too much, and now I have to wait up to 7 days for my adjustment from the $170 the co. automatically charges to get started. Scary to think I won't be getting this refund because of everything else negative from today! NEVER AGAIN!

Ordered groceries from the local store. Instacart posted the groceries were delivered. Nothing at my door. Tried to contact Instacart. Could not get anyone to talk with. I am now out the price of a week's groceries and had to purchase them again in person. 0 rating is not allowed.

I was scammed out of $134 by this company. My groceries were never delivered. This is completely unacceptable. Last night I was on hold with customer care for over two hours before I hung up and went to bed. This morning I called again and the wait time is 300 minutes! Never use this service. I'll be filing a fraudulent claim with my bank.

Initially I thought that Instacart was great. That was until I started comparing the grocery store receipt to the Instacart receipt. The order I received today 04/07/2020 there was a $20.99 difference between what was on the grocery ckeck-out and the Instacart receipt. Additionally they come up with some type of per pound meat charge that is way above the actual cost. So in my order today there was $58.00 to the benefit of Instacart. If you don't make the comparison then you will never know. Last week they did a similar thing charging me for a bag of apples and giving me one!! It's impossible to contact them, so I assume they just hope you will forget. Now that I've told my friends how great there service was I have to go back and tell them that I will never use the service again.

Great concept during these covid miserable days, so despite bad reviews, thought we'd give it a shot. One thing that really pissed me off. If let's say your groceries are $200, without asking or telling you, they hit your account for an extra fifty bucks (in case you add anything?! or substituted items are more?) - with elders living so carefully, how dare they? Maybe that fifty dollars was in their account for their prescription, or a bill payment already scheduled, or gas to whatever! They did that to me! How did they assume I had an extra forty bucks in my account??? Who said I ever agree to that? How is that legal? My order hasn't come yet, it's going to take four days - and I've heard canceling and getting your money back is impossible!

I used Instacart and I received the store receipt. That showed me that every article that I ordered was way more expensive through Instacart. Sometimes double the price. So I contacted them, waited three hours, they explained that in addition to the service fee, delivery fee, and tip, the articles are way more expensive. In addition, my shopper didn't do a good job at all and brought me things without even check with me. Learn from me, do not use this service at all. It is a ripped off!

They rescheduled the delivery time 4 times in a row and at the very end just cancelled it. When you come to their website to reschedule the delivery it shows no available slots. The service like this doesn't deserve to be on the market.

I placed an order on Mar.28 with Instacart but when delivered the representative claimed that my order could not be completely filled because there was insufficient funds. The amount approved for the order on my credit card was $117. The store receipt was $37.15 however Instacart charged $97.67 to my card. I have tried to contact them by phone and the wait time increases while I'm on hold. I've sent two emails but haven't heard from them.

The amount of over-charge was described to me by AG employees as price gouging. No joke. I explained the fee, the service, the diff. receipts, and the lady at the AG's office said, "sounds like price-gouging" with whats going on right now.
