I paid into the Daplie campaign years ago and have received nothing. I would strongly suggest that people stay away from Indiegogo. They allow people to take your money and not actually produce anything. Poor communications from the campaign. When they do communicate they continue to make promises and not deliver. Indiegogo is obviously not holding anyone accountable in these campaigns.

This platform facilitates scammers. No communication from Indiegogo (no number to call and no response to emails) and no answer from the Bluenero startup either. The startup company got the money and simply disappeared without even showing some sort of progress to develop the product. Indiegogo does nothing to protect backers. Simply unacceptable. Be careful and avoid.

Just don't do it. No support for backers who get ripped off. They continue to promote things that are actual scams

I would give Indiegogo zero stars if I could.
A case in point is the Piqo projector project, which has been a scam probably from day 1. Here's an excerpt of a review of this device (from Michael Kummer):
"Update [8/7/2019]: I still haven't received my PIQO, but others have and disassembled the unit. The findings of those users are shocking and make it relatively clear that PIQO is likely a scam. That's incredibly unfortunate. The lesson I have learned from this experience is to never preview products again, unless they come from reputable companies that have a track record of delivering quality products that meet our expectations."
Despite thousands of complaints on this project, Indiegogo has never done anything to either stop the perpetrators in their tracks or refund backers their money.
I get that backing a project carries risk: projects may not work as advertised, or may not even come to fruition. And I accept those risks.
But this is different: it's a clear attempt to swindle thousands of backers using Indiegogo as a front. And that's not acceptable.
Worse yet, when I tried to contact Andy Yang, Indiegogo's CEO, via LinkedIn, he refuses to accept incoming messages.

A victim of the PIQO projector scam, but to be honest none of the Indiegogo campaigns I backed ever were as promised let alone on time.

Part of FatFreezer campaign. Backers openly discussing none receipt of goods yet Indiegogo still promoting them as a ‘preferred’ campaign. Keep away from these pirates

Indiegogo don't care if terms are breached or nothing...
They are fraudulent and repported to authorities world wide. Be the smart one and don't support this bs site.

This site is no different than the Nigerian Prince email scam. Great site if you are looking for a platform to commit fraud as Indiegogo are willing enablers and co-conspirators. Supported 2 projets that delivered nothing and participated in the Mate X fiasco that was nothing but frustration. Avoid this vaporware scam site

Stay away. Used the platform 3 times and been scammed twice. Indiegogo will not help you in anyway, and you have absolutely no way of telling if the company crowd founding or the product is legit.
First project has been back with 3000% of the requested amount and left with more $1 million. No updates, no communication and no one to write.
Second project has failed to send the perk although being 10 months into shipping. They've started to sell their products retail, and are not fulfilling the perks anymore.
Both projects were staff picked.

Customer services are not interested at all.
With all the negative press on this website I am surprised the owners haven't closed up by now!

I've backed several campaigns on both Indiegogo and Kickstarter in the past, I've received a few great items, a few that were average at best, and a couple of real duds. Lately I've come to realize that Indiegogo has become rife with scams, con artists, and other unscrupulous operators. These days you're lucky to receive anything at all for your money, and Indiegogo doesn't seem to care.
Indiegogo claims to have a "Trust and Safety" team, but in practice they fail to protect their own customers. Several recent campaigns have scammed people, including myself, out of millions of dollars. Items are never delivered, campaign owners misrepresent, stall, maybe deliver a token amount of faulty goods, and then disappear. When you complain to Indiegogo's Trust and Safety team, you get a canned response that they'll look into it. If you ask any follow up questions you will never get a reply. If you complain again later, the process repeats.
People who have been scammed are left to try to fight it out in the comments section, or report the offending campaign to the Better Business Bureau, or the Federal Trade Commission. Meanwhile Indiegogo turns a blind eye and allows the scammers to continue to swindle new customers.
I think the problem is that Indiegogo has no financial incentive to ever shut down unscrupulous campaigns, no matter how bad the scam. In fact, since Indiegogo takes a piece of each transaction, their incentive is to attract as many campaigns as possible, and to never step in.
Indiegogo is quick to hide behind language that you are never guaranteed anything when you contribute on their platform. Even worse than that, their own marketing materials tell campaign owners that Indiegogo is the only crowd funding site where you get to keep everyone's money even if you don't reach your funding goal. The combination of this disingenuous, have your cake and eat it too approach, with their willingness to look the other way creates the perfect breeding ground and platform for scammers of all types, many of whom are outside of the US, and so can operate with complete impunity.
I'm done risking my money with a company that knowingly abets scammers and con artists. Indiegogo either needs to clean up their act, or they should be shut down.

Indiegogo do absolutely nothing to protect their users and the don't seem to care if they are being scammed or not. Will definitely not be using them again!

Dont trust them. They add campaigns like "HUB: HiFi Wireless Earbuds with 100 Hours Playtime" to their "team favorites", but theres nothing but scam and a cheap Chinese manufacturer (with a pretty good marketing strategy) behind it. Indiegogo is making scam products look special and unique and then doesnt provide any help when there are problems with the campaigner and products.
To everyone who got cheated by discord sound too: Go to your payment provider and claim the money back. Tell them you never received the product. I got my money back without any problems.

Stay away at all cost. Indiegogo actively promotes suspected fraudster campaigns (see "The Most Powerful Pocket-Sized PC"), profits from their crowdfunding and denies all responsibility once their internal investigation concludes the campaign was a fraud. They don't even announce the outcome their investigation, instead just deactivate the campaign page. They put a lot of resource into retaining the funds collected for fraud campaigns, denying chargeback claims raised by the victims, essentially acting as an accomplice of the crime committed. Try their competitor Kickstarter instead, Kickstarter's crowding process has been more robust lately and Kickstarter suspended & auto refunded campaigns. Obviously don't forget all crowdfunding campaigns are significantly more risky than buying from an establish retailer.

Indiegogo is a supporting website for criminals to get away with other people's money! They don't care anything about the backers on their site and they don't want to be responsible for anything! The website should be shutdown, due to criminal activities!
Nobody should ever leave any money on indiegogo, because you will never get any of your backed products and you will also never see your money again! Campaign owners just ignore the refund requests and indiegogo doesn't care about you!
So please, stay away from this scam!

I've backed 3 campaigns. One was great, one was so-so and one is OBVIOUS FRAUD and Indiegogo refuses to do anything about it. I will NEVER back an Indiegogo campaign again.

Just to add to all unhappy supporters of PIQO projector. It is apparent that Indiegogo did not even plan to do anything about that or to protect backers. Avoid this website as hell.

Unfortunately, the approach where Indiegogo holds no respojnsibility for hosting scammers and their fraud projects does not work. I will never again back a single campaign until I see a change. I paid ShiftWear $1000 for their projec advertised on Indiegogo in 2015. Have not seen the product and could not get my money back. Contacted the fraudulent company several times and received several empty promises. It's been four years, and I am still unable to get my money back.
