Where to start... Awful customer service not even based in the US. Poor excuses to ban people and annoying offer spamming (they don't even listen to the community, only appealing to ideas that could make them earn more money) They should have been out of commission years ago but they know they can milk more cash from that "next" wannabe social media app with all the minors joining. Also, its not safe, adults pretend to be kids and kids to be adults also the staff WONT ban offenders even if you give them proof (not to mention their reporting system is from the stone age and they can't even back up your evidence because of their so called "privacy" BS). They used to be okay around early 2010's now they're just scammers and they don't even try to hide it. Sorry IMVU you used to be cool, but with your poorly optimized website, outdated features, scamming tactics, lack of professionalism and awful customer service, you don't even deserve 1 star.

Hello, I'm here to inform people who are questioning getting the app TO NOT GET IT! My account was disabled for no reason! I spent my actual hard-earned money and they refuse to give me my account back.

No, Played around 6 years, and despite all bad and broke non-sense moral they had, I never stopped to log in at least 1 time at year or invest in the game because in despite of all it was a good "game" for chat and meet people. But since this last year that they Deleted... No, Erased my account with no way possible to recover it. So I got 2 alternatives forced by them: 1st Create another account with no refunds or no help such more initial credits etc... or 2nd Stop Playing.
Fair, isn't it? All the careless about my account (going to be selfish now) I had PA with ID confirmed, The money expended on credits and VIP all gone.

Since you pay to be respected (PA and VIP) your account should be treated respectfully, very lack of commitment and respect for the player... 6 years All gone in a twink of an eye.

This website makes their own rules as they go along.They never fix anything that goes wrong on the website and the customer service is useless.All of their community board moderators and the manager of it whose avatar name is ShannonMac are clueless and treat their customers like crap and ignore all the questions and complaints.They are on a power trip and do not care one bit about the customers, all they care about is suspending members accounts or banning them from posting on the community board and silencing them .One of the community board moderators named Sugercone doesnt do a single thing to help any of the members except she loves to threaten the customers and suspend them.She is useless and disrespectful but her manager always backs and stands up for these moderators and tells the customers they are wrong no matter what.And you cant get anybody on the phone at this website to tell them about how they treat you because they never pick up the phone.They never give updates and you end up paying your membership for useless music that doesnt work.They only get back to you when they suspend you or threaten you.They try to censor their customers so they shut up and go away so they dont have to do anything.If you voice your opinions about things that are wrong on the site they remove all your posts and threaten you.The music has been broken on this site for years now and if you complain about it they threaten you with suspensions and bans.It still has never been fixed and people have paid thousands of dollars for music that skips or stops or doesnt work at all.Their website engineers are incompetent and have no idea how to fix anything.When they try to it takes years for them to come up with something.No website should be allowed to take money from people for this kind of broken defective service.They had over 3 1/2 years to be ready for the Adobe Flash Player to stop working which would stop the customers from sampling the music before they buy it and they did absolutely nothing in those 3 1/2 years to have a solution for when it stopped.That was announced in 2017 that the Flash Player was being discontinued and would be ending at the end of 2020 and now the music sampling doesnt work anymore and they are telling us all to have patience and understanding...lol...what a joke..They had 3 1/2 years and sat on their asses and did nothing and now they say they are working on it.Yet they continue to take members money every day for a broken service.People are getting smart now and leaving this website and not renewing their memberships.Anybody thinking about joining this website please dont waste your hard earned money.You will regret it.Avoid it at all costs.I have learned my lesson the hard way and wasted thousands of dollars on this crap and have been dis-respected by these unprofessional moderators and managers that control this site and have no respect for their paying customers.They will regret it as more people stop paying to be on it anymore.IMVU stands for I AM VIOLENT at YOU because thats how this bunch of people come at the customers.They just steal your money and laugh at you as they spit in your face.I would have rated it at ZERO stars but you have to give it at least one star on here according to the ratings but believe me,it is a ZERO rating...DONT EVER JOIN THIS WEBSITE NO MATTER WHAT !!!

This app is great I would ask alot of ppl to play but I would like it that we could walk up nd down

454 credits went missing from my account. I checked the balance logs no purchase was made, my account was not hacked. I contacted support with screenshots of the balance log to show that on the 29th I had 564 credits and on the 3rd of the next month had 110. The logs showed NO purchases made during the time between these dates.

Support came back telling me to check the credit logs and turn 2 factor authentication on. I responded explaining that it was not hacking and that I sent screenshots of the logs already. I then explained the problem again.

Support shut me down, closed my ticket and told me my account was already checked and refused to help. I am missing over 400 credits, no hacking, no purchases yet they refuse to help or give them back.

The right thing to do is if you see no purchases made, I see no purchases made, I've not been hacked and you have not taken them for any reason is to give them back rather than run me in circles.
I have provided PROOF, I have explained and re explained the situation. So its obviously a bug in your system if you didn't do it. How is that hard to understand?

It was overall good I like meeting new people but when someone takes your account or it gets disabled and you connect them about it's like you never get it back they never answer you I feel like they should work on that I have spent and gave imvu so much money just for it to be striped from me.

This site is nothing but drama and cyber bullying. It's full of little kids posing as adults who can't tell the difference between real life and fantasy. Also there is no good customer service. No matter what you do to stop harassment or fix problems imvu staff won't ever take you seriously. Not only that but they expect you to buy VIP to live chat them. Completely stupid and a waste of time.

After countless days of slugging through poorly worded, copy-paste solutions from numerous employees, (I had spoken to seven thus far, all of them stating the same thing), I'm sad to say I have yet to meet a solution. I'd been an active and loyal user for two to three years, give or take, and had spend countless of hundreds of dollars. My account was permanently terminated for fraud, in which I was given no evidence for due to privacy reasons, despite myself being fully willing to provide legal documents in order to prove my identity. imvu also stole my credits which i had on my account which are worth $7000, so not only that they are big frauds and scam they are big thieves too...I am not the only person they did this to, there are hundreds of other users with complaints that imvu disabled their accounts for no reason...they are also a fraudlent company so many times they charge users without giving them what they have purchased or charge double or many times for one purchase and if a user complain about it they never listen or refund or give the money back, they are big fraud and scam, but they hide their frauds with so much cleverness and cunning ways and appear as if they are honest and user caring company when in reality they are scam and fraud and thieves, stealing peoples money and disabling them without any reasons.

Customer service is absolutely impossible to deal with, staff is rude and will never reply to anything you ask or if you have any issues, you have no where to go, your just stuck in the dead end.....Management is a disaster, everything is about money.... how can we extort users for more money? They did an overhaul of their community management, and profited off of top creators by partnering with them. In the end, they banned them for no reason....management has no care for their users, they only care about how they can get more money, when a user stops giving them money, their account becomes unimportant and they disable you.

Everytime I texted them it took hours to respond and I kept having to send my information 5times to different people when everything had already been handled

IMVU have 0 customer service and support, they treat their customers so bad and worse than trash, i have been on imvu since 13 years and not even once have broken any imvu policies or rules or went against any of imvu TOS, and even then imvu disabled my account for no reason twice, first time when they did it was proved that i did nothing and then i had it back now they did the same thing again and without any justification, they just assume things and disable accounts at once on suspicion and doubts without even investigating in the matter or making sure of it. No one should spend one penny on this thing or give them any money, they can disable you at anytime without any reason even if you are old and senior user or even if you have spent fortune on it, they wont care and will disable your account without any explanation or justification... stop wasting your money, I am a living example of that... my account is 13 years old and i spend so much time and did so much hard work on building it and yet they disabled me for no reason when i did nothing wrong.

You can get banned for posting pictures of things they have on the site regardless if it's Ap or not without any warning. Then when I called and asked about it the guy was RUDE AF. Honestly I wouldn't waste a dime on this trash. They don't care about the users they only care about censorship. They are biased as well. I spent too much money on this stupid game and nobody else should give them anything else.

I would give it 0 stars if I could. Don't get me wrong the shop and everything is amazing, I used MY own card for MY account and it got locked I called and somehow I owe $77? Through PayPal? Lmfao what a sham bye imvu you do this to so many people, I've been playing for id say 7 years I've had so many accounts because of this exact reason. Even sometimes I wouldn't even buy or get credits. It would just be disabled so they can extort money.

This is so tedious. I have been going back and forth the whole time in trying to restore my first account back. Luckily, I made another account a few years back, thinking that I would be able to use it too. Unfortunately, my plan did not pan out the way I wanted it to. Instead of making things easier for me, it made it so much worse. Guess what? My new account was restricted as well just because of the fact that I have not logged in for a couple of years. I mean I get it, but why do you have to go so far as to restrict my account? At this point, everyone is being banned/restricted/disabled because of these petty reasons. THEY NEED TO CHANGE THAT. Focus on making the game better instead of these little tedious issues just because you're bored. Like, put your use into something productive. Waste of my time and their time.

The staff like to roadblock their costumers. The customer service is very poor and the staff members do not listen when you are speaking. When I was on the phone trying to take my account off hold I told the lady on the line my name and then she quickly jumped to what my imvu name was and I repeated it twice speaking ALOUD in my bedroom at 12AM because that is the only time that their customer service is available in my country. She still did not hear what I said and she told me I needed to speak louder which was ironic because my voice was echoing off the walls I was that loud which was a clear sign that she was not listening to me. Customer service also takes days to get back to your cases when you report an issue or need help with something. What is most stupid about this media outlet is that their live chat for costumer service is also VIP. Which means if you're an unlucky user, you have to purchase the VIP membership for the Live chat to be accessible. Other than the costumer service you can meet good people but a lot of the people on the game are rather rude and insensitive. You barely get enough credits to buy one outfit or even half an outfit due to the products being overpriced and the free credits being very little. You might be able to earn free credits in the app however you don't win very many credits and sometimes you may not receive the credits at all. Call me angry but I wouldn't recommend IMVU at all. It's a waste of time and a waste of money, simply because I was one of the unlucky customers who got to see the side of them that I never thought I would see ever.

These people are psychopaths. They wait until you get attached to the game and then maybe you're a year inor like i was3 years into playing and BAM they ban you. If you want to get your account back you have to use a new account and submit a case through their website. This is no way to treat people and this game is gonna die because of it, and I will not feel bad when it does. A fun game, terrible company.

I don't find IMVU to be a scam nor take money without permission (In response to some reviews). I know there are certain areas where people might feel scammed. For e.g. being banned and their account closed for a time period. However, it is very important to read the TOS and to stick by them. They do not like adult-themed anything. If you make adult goods that are not TOS you will be banned. If you report goods or people and you are not correct in your assumption then you are also banned. So don't waste their time.
I have been at IMVU 12 years. In the early days, this place was the 'bomb'. Now? It's filled with kids, people pretending to be kids and pedos. So don't let your kids go on there. I feel sad that this has happened but I feel it was to do with not keeping the real adults happy at IMVU.
Also I couldn't get into my acc for months because they are not good on MAC, so for that they get 3 stars. Usual internet rules apply. Other than that they are OK. I've never been scammed by IMVU.

They have great products and rooms and are cheaper than 2nd Life.

It can be a 'game' if you like role-play it was always a virtual chat for me and I did make some 'friends' who have now left IMVU. The internet in general is a cesspit so just be careful and use usual caution.

so I had an imvu account and let's just say they stole all of my money and they will not return it. Do not waste your time on imvu its pure garbage. They stole over 6 grand. I have to tell everyone because no one deserves this. They are thiefs and I wouldn't curse even my most hated enemy with imvu. I think imvu should be shut down. Its not a safe place for anyone they get your identity and they steal all your money.
