Brilliant quality and service

Tried v. hard to buy a new washing machine. What a fiasco. Assistant told me I needed to rent. No I wanted to buy!! I gave specific things I wanted, 1600 rpm small load and cheap. I did not agree with the policy of spending £500 on a £200 machine the difference being delivery unpack install take away old machine and insurance. He couldn't even tell me when it would be delivered. He did not understand my needs and kept telling me I needed to rent. He even offered me secondhand machine at half the usual rental price!! I was insulted by this. I just wanted to buy a wshing machine. By the time he had twisted my brain I left in tears. This was not service it was bombardment and bullying in the Bury St Edmunds store. I felt sorry for the other staff who had to listen to him but no one was brave enough to intervene. Dont go there unless you want to rent.

Great first experience, from start to finish. The website was easy to order from, the price was good, communication was excellent and the delivery men were polite and efficient. I would be happy to recommend.

Hughes were great; their delivery company, ArrowXL, was the pits. They were due to come on Monday but I was notified Sunday evening they would not be here to Tuesday, from 1:15. They arrived early so the freezer is not fully defrosted. They then asked where I wanted the new one I said in the kitchen, so that's where they put it despite the fact I could not move around it get to the old one. I had paid for removal of the packaging; they refused to unpack. My daughter and I managed to do this with great difficulty as it's a six-foot freezer and we are both 5 foot tall. When I had asked them to unpack they said it was not on their instructions, Hughes affirmed later that it was. They also told me if I left my old freezer in my driveway that another team would pick it up when they were in the area, and that "if you ask nicely" might take the packaging. It is still in the driveway along with the cardboard and polystyrene. The position where they left my new freezer meant that I could neither get into my dishwasher nor several of my kitchen cupboards even once the cardboard and polystyrene been removed. Looking back one of the guys was obviously hurry to get home early and I reasonably believe this was why they did not want to unpack as per the contract and merely dumped my new freezer in the kitchen rather than applying a bit of common sense, in that it should have been obvious that I could neither get around the new freezer nor obviously taken the old one out. The delivery company did text me for feedback but a week later has failed to respond. I spoke to Hughes today and they are refunding me the money that I paid for the unpacking and takeaway service, and the person I spoke to apologised despite the fact that Hughes not the problem.

Very good service did have a issue with the screws that old the tele on the wall .I bought a 40" and a 32" both had the same size screws NOT BIG ENOUGH THREAD.

Pretty good. Ordered a tumble dryer & selected next delivery & paid. Then got a phone call the next day to say it wouldn’t be coming next day delivery as we live in Northern Ireland!!! Actually took about 10 days in the end. We weren’t in a mad hurry for it so this was fine but it should state on the website that next day delivery isn’t available to Northern Ireland.

it was an interesting experience ,,,,we bought a fridge .. but it did not work as it should have been ,,,, in your shop in Diss we find the fridge we wanted and we were going to the process of paying for it ... but the shop assistant insisted we needed at the last line of the buying process to pay a £20 delivery charge .... just to deliver the fridge ( We live less than 1 mile from the shop ), and it was not open to discusion....we walked away... Luckily we had seen your website and ordered the fridge online
and delivery was free and the delivering men were nice and helpful,,, Now if I was you I would investigate the shop delivery charge,,,,,,,,for us it looked like they have a side business for the delivery.... have a nice day

Great service ....even though 1st tv developed a fault within 5 hours and the 2nd was delivered with damaged screen , the third is great....They bent over backwoods to help and from start to finished all was done within 6 days...would certainly buy from again

The price of the freezer was cheaper than elsewhere but just as important the service thereafter was very good. The communication up to delivery was timely and the delivery company used was excellent. Very happy with this company.

very fast service. We needed a Fridge Freezer quickly and Hughes delivered in 3 days. only downside they didn't take our old unit i didnt see it as an option when i purchased

I got what I ordered at a good price and the delivery was excellent.

I ordered a Bosch Washer/Dryer including paying for installation and removal of the old appliance.
It seems this was not a stock item for Hughes and they passed the order on to a Bosch supplier who then supplied it with their own drivers and installation team.
It all went well enough and the appliance arrived on time and has been working well but I had to lend the installers a wrench to connect up the water hose and we had to re-use the old hose from the previous appliance because it needed extra length and they had no spares etc. on the van.
