So I had a terrible experience with a builder who is advertising their services on Houzz (Ross Girdler, now of Integrate Design and Build) and left a one star review. The review appeared and then disappeared, I submitted again and the same happened again. So the long process of trying to find out what happened started and ended up with me realising that the entire reviews process on Houzz is corrupted.
For starters, the person/company receiving the review is able to ask Houzz to remove any reviews that are three stars or less. Imagine if Amazon, or any other site allowed that to happen.
So talking, via e-mail with Houzz customer services I was told initially that Ross disagreed with some of the facts in my review, but unless he could show they were false, the review had to stand. He didn’t do that, but my review disappeared. Second I was told that because the review was when the company had a different name, I was not allowed to leave the review. When I pointed out that all the other reviews for Integrate Design and Build were at the same time that my work was taking place, or when it still the other name, responses from Houzz disappeared and I have had no response, yet all the existing reviews are there and mine is not.
I then re-wrote the review and submitted again. This time I was told that they do not accept reviews that mention the name of the owner or members of the team. I pointed out that 5 or the there 6 reviews specifically mention only the owner and there were many other companies with review that mention individuals. It also does not mention this in their reviews policy So I finally remove the name of the individual and my review is published, only for it to disappear two days later. No response to related e-mails to Houzz to find out why
So what conclusion can you draw? Well, the ‘professional’ can request removal of a review that goes from “would not recommend” to “pretty good overall”. This means you are only able to leave unsullied reviews that say “Great Job” or “Excellent Job”.
When you try and leave anything other than glowing praise, every possible hurdle is put in place, whether they make any sense or not and, ultimately, Houzz stops responding to you and your review is left out.
So, is this a corrupted review process? Lesson here is don’t trust the reviews and make you own judgement on the people presenting themselves.

I don’t know whether to write this review on Houzz.co.uk or Houzz.com but, whichever, I would advise anyone who reads this not to use this firm. The sales experience on the website is fine. I ordered from Houzz Netherlands, the site took my money straight away - of course. I received notice that the package had been shipped, that it had been received by the courier, Yodel, that it was in the depot , that it was in transit and due for delivery a week ago. Then nothing.
Try to speak to someone to resolve matter- no chance. No contact numbers other than one that is simply an automated response by Yodel, and it just says there is a problem and refers you to back to Houzz. Houzz phone line also an automated response. And these calls cost you. Chat lines are never free and poor response from the email submission.
I truly detest this business model and would never use anything like it again. Stick to Amazon or another well oiled engine if you have any sense, ever want to receive your order, or ever want to speak to anyonyone animate.
Just a bloody awful experience.

I ordered for an item on the 25/02/2019 and it was due to be received on the 5/03/2019, I did not receive my item , I was not informed of any delays , I tried to call several times , you just end up in an endless queue , no one picks up , anyway after so many attempts I finally got to someone who told me the supplier was experiencing delays !
I mean seriously, you put up items for sale and you confirm the order and the date goes by without a word !
so am doing all the chasing , I don't know where my item is till now and I was given 10% off for inconvenience .
am not interested in discounts , I just want my item that I haven't received till now .
I will never order from here again and I would advice others to be carefull , the carelessness is mind blowing , no responsibility whatsoever .
I have done a lot of online shopping , this is the worst one.

1 star seems too much to capture our experience with Houzz, which is still not over. We ordered two pieces of furniture on 6 January. The order was initially delayed, then when it arrived one piece was defective and had to be returned. It was collected, then they lost it before finding it again. We were then told it was out of stock and delivery would not be until March. The replacement has still not arrived and despite multiple attempts to call, email and FB Houzz, we have received no response. Strongly recommend you steer clear of Houzz.

Received email notification Houzz had been hacked and potentially compromised my wife’s personal data. Luckily she had not input any data beyond her name and email address. Account subsequently abandoned and deactivated and would not use the site and service ever again.

Houzz are happy to fail to give statutory notice when they plan to renew your account without your permission, and keep taking your money and then not refund you once you realise they have auto renewed you account without your permission. Thieves, in short. Do not go near these con artists

I ordered a shelf which was originally due to be delivered over 7 weeks ago. I contacted customer service as the delivery status did not seem to change from in progress and it took them a week to tell me that my original order was lost in transit. It took another week before the shelf was finally delivered but we were disappointed to find out that half of the panels were damaged and unusable. I was told the vendor was preparing the order 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing since. Extremely poor logistics and delivery! I will not be using Houzz again!

I purchased some artwork on 2nd May, they took the money out of my account the same day but have still not sent me the artwork (it's now 13th June). I have given them multiple chances to put it right and have been extremely patient with them. I've always had to chase them via phone or email, they would always say they are looking into it and then close the query (I would get the follow up rate our service email which is how I know they had closed it).

Houzz refused to publish honest reviews of Siproj Architecture, where the architect Igho Tabor has been disbarred by ARB and RIBA for professional misconduct. Instead they show glowing reviews. Don’t rely on Houzz to find an architect as they only publish what the architect wants.
