I booked a reservation for a resort in Marco Island, FL months before our stay. We were going on July 26, 2019. A few days before my stay, I received the infamous "embezzlement" scheme email stating that my reservation may have been cancelled. It was cancelled and the resort was sold out for the dates of my stay. Again, this was in July. How is it the Hotel Power is STILL as of 9/1/19, allowing people to "book" hotels from them? If there was a legitimate case of embezzlement, there wouldn't be additional cases, right? I knew the email itself was a fraud when each email I received gave a different confirmation number. I will be taking legal action and am interested in filing a class action lawsuit.

I booked at hotel for 2 nights in Boston this weekend. I prepaid the reservation about 6 weeks ago. I received an email about some embezzlement within the company and that my reservation was cancelled and I should notify my credit card company for reimbursement . This is garbage as the company is still solvent and not honoring their commitments. They have pocketed the money. Do Not use this company

I am not one to leave negative reviews, but I will for these guys. They were victims of some internal fraud, which is unfortunate. The kicker is that they would not process the refund back to my credit card. They are going to make me file a credit card dispute. What this means is that they get to hold on to my money interest free while they and the cc company figure out what happened. All the while, I am pay the current rate to the cc company. I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt that they really did have some fraud, but I am not willing to further fund their poor management with my money. We will never use them again.

I booked 2 expensive rooms for my friends and I for my birthday and I got a notice that my reservation was cancelled because of employee embezzlement. The card company can't help and the rep at hotel power said she can't give my money back. They stole my money and ruined my birthday. I travel 150 miles a day and work 10 hours a day, six days a week to take care of me and my kids and these people ripped me off. I will be looking into bringing legal action against them in a criminal and civil manner. And unfortunately for them Im very good with legal issues. Disgusting!

We booked an Oceanfront room and we received only a Partial Oceanview room. We tried to resolve this issue before leaving on our vacation over several weeks but there was no management to speak to. We kept getting the run around. We are still waiting for someone in management to resolve this issue. Hotelpower.com never gave me a hotel confirmation number. I got this directly from the hotel where I found out that what we booked was not what we paid for.
Be wary of booking with them because if you have a problem, there is no one to resolve it

Your company responded to my 1 star review as if you guys were trying to make things right. Seriously bogus!!!! You've done nothing to assist me. You've been using this employee embezzlement story for years! Stop ripping people off. You guys are seriously ruining people's lives. Everyone doesn't have money to just pay again for hotel accommodations. Is anyone out there with me willing to speak up? Report this company, class action lawsuit needs to be started. Any lawyers out there reading this? Help us to get this going. They need to be stopped!

Total scam. Why didn't I google it before booking through this sham of a company?
My bank has me calling F.B.I. in Florida to start I'm sure what is another investigation.
I spoke to John, employee # 0086 and That probably wasn't his real name. $1065.00 and still waiting for refund.
Beware people.

Stay away from this scam. I booked my hotel for one date and when I received my invoice it had me booking the hotel room for that same day. I immediately called the rep and he said they would call me back when they got in touch with the hotel to change it to the correct date. I received no call back and spoke to 3 different people and the last person said we will call tomorrow by 12p. Guess what no call so I called them again and spoke with John who said oh we dont have an update yet. I asked how long does it take to get an update about a date change. I said well I'm going to call the hotel he said there going to tell you the same thing. And I just needed to wait until they got back with me. The hotel did not have any speaking with them......I am tell my bank to try and get my money back.

Read the other reviews. The same story. But in my case, they cancelled the same day as check-in. I got the email from hotel power with that "embezzlement scheme" a few hours before check-in. I actually read it at the hotel front desk right after they told me my booking was cancelled. SCAM SCAM SCAM.
And I got the booking site via Trivago. Very disappointed ... x2

OMG!!!! This comany is so full of crap. I too was a victim. I do not need to write again all the same thing that have already been said about them (cancelled reservation, employee embezzlement, etc) but just know that this is a TOTAL SCAM.
Please stay away from them.

Do not book with them! I wish I could give them a negative star rating! I received an email the day before my trip saying they were victims of internal embezzlement and I may have been effected. Had to pay for my room (the next day, after flying out of the country, with no room booked) again, had to deal with their customer service people telling me, "You need to contact your bank". Do not book through them!

They ruined my honeymoon and embezzled $1300! We booked our dream room June 21st, and found out july 24th that our reservation was canceled. Of course the room we reserved was no longer available. Do NOT trust them with your vacation plans.

Booked a room in California a month out had confirmation (5282636) number. When we arrived at hotel in late evening (11:00) found out that hotelpower never forwarded the reservation. The hotel was sold out along with all the hotels in the area.
Finally found another place to stay around 1:00 am by driving around. Paid out of pocket for the new room.
Been attempting communication since June for resolution. They say they will get back with an answer and then do not respond. Phone just rings and emails are not any better. Don't use this service.

I also got a letter about some embezzlement and so I called the Hotel directly and they confirmed that the Reservation was still active. I got a reservation# as well. Now I only hope that HotelPower has already paid them the full amount as well (I forgot to ask if they have already received payment). There are no other rooms available in the vicinity of where I am staying and so sincerely hoping I don't have to pay again.

They sent me a letter a month before my trip claiming they were victims of embezzlement. Somehow as a result my reservation was cancelled. I booked in May for $426 for two nights for a special event-called hotel to see if I could re-book... now going for over $1,000/night! Your 'embezzlement' scheme is not my problem. I want my money back!

All US Armed Forces and anyone else who doesnt like thieves or scam artists. If you work for this company you also condone this behavior...you are also thieves. Please be advised...this company took 3,100.00 from an old man. No refund, no charge back available because they've already taken it out of his debit, no room just a promise to call us back( we are still waiting on that call) Leaving him without a room last minute and no way to recoup his losses.
When you refund him, hotel power I'll be glad to amend this review.

They cancelled my booking 2 days before my trip. Emailed me the night before my trip to tell me about some company drama B.S and my trip was cancelled and I needed to rebook on my own and get my refund from my Credit card Co. So what it came down to is they spent my money 4 months earlier and couldn't afford to pay for my booking so they cancelled it. I called to ask for reimbursement for the difference and I'm pretty sure the guy laughed.....

I booked one room for one night through this company and their system charged me twice.I called hotel power right away and I was promised a refund.Great! After a month still no refund and now their excuse is that hotel where I stayed wont give refund, well they do, and now they ask me to contact and email a hotel where I stayed to send them proof that in fact they didn't charge me.Please stay away, they are not true what they say and once you book they also set you up some kind of membership

Booked a room for a concert weekend. in Boulder, CO. Arrived to hotel and none of the 4 rooms we reserved were booked. Hotel Power took our money a month before and four families had to scramble to find an overpriced rooms elsewhere. Hotel said they put in for refund and ten days later nothing.
AVOID THIS COMPANY. Thief's.
