I tried to book a room on line which I normally never do. When I hit submit an error message came up and I needed to call and give them make sure to get things straight. I called the number and got some totally unrelated survey from who knows where. I finally found the right number and called, they were closed. I left a message for them to call me, when they did it was a number local to where I live (NOT). When the I received the call you could hear a multiple people in close proximity to the person that I was talking to. They were asking for my card number again even with my information. I hung up immediately, went to my bank and canceled my card. I also am receiving emails from them, tried the opt out link which by the is also fake (surprise) so I am still getting emails from this company that I cant get rid of. From my experience I highly suspect this company is a fraud. By the way I have read the reviews and I don't want some BS response form you. Either correct your practices or shut the doors and quit scamming people.

Book a room for two days to Sanibel Island Florida with them. When I got to the hotel they told me my room was not paid for; they charged me $497.28 for the two days. When I check my credit card, Hotel power also charge me $736.09 for the same two days. I have been calling them for a refund so far I spoke with 4 different agents and was asked to email them a copy of the hotel bill. I have sent 5 emails and no one has reply back to me. My next step is to report them to the Better Business Bureau

Just lost $1,000 and 5 or more hours over a reservation 3 months away that the hotel would let me out of but HotelPower won't, not even if I pay them the commission they'd get. Every person promised to call back and never did. Couldn't ever talk to a manager. First person I dealt with got all my info wrong. The second insisted I didn't know how to spell my own name or how many people I was booking for. The third promised to "see what I can do,"
and promised to call back. Ha!

Do not waste good money with these idiots. I called to make a change and also went online to find my reservation to change it. They couldn't find it under the confirmation number they sent me. I had to research the cards I use to help them find it. By this time i was late for a cancellation but only wanted to change it and i would have lost all my money. They are liars and crooks. They said the hotel declined to change it. I called the hotel and they said that was a lie. No one from there called.

I booked a hotel through them in August. I woke up this morning to an email from Hotel Power saying that I had purchased a membership with them. The email said that I made the order on 09/28/2018 at 02:10am which I never did.
I called Hotel Power to dispute the charge and a woman answered who was very rude and condescending with me. I wanted to know why I was charged and she raised her voice and started getting into defense mode. She gave me a convoluted answer saying that I signed-up for the membership when I know for a fact that I didn't.
It is clear that Hotel Power has no appreciation for their former customers and I will never book through them again.

I was linked to this site via TripAdvisor. The rate for the hotel was signifcantly lower than direct booking or via any other site. The booking was confirmed. Two days later, I get a phone call from a blocked-ID number and they are requesting that I FAX in a copy of my credit cards last four digits and a copy of my ID - claiming my booking 'could be fraudulent'
I immediately called the hotel. They do NOT work with HotelPower nor it's parent company GTI Travel and advised they had no idea of the booking.
I also spoke to Starwood (owner of the hotel) and they advised the rate could not be accurate and would not be honored.

Absolutely terrible customer service! I was on the website and over the phone at the same time and they were trying to charge me 3 times more over the phone telling me all the rooms had sold out. Absolute liars! Ended up making the booking on their website as I panicked and later discovered multiple rooms available online for much cheaper!!! So infuriating!

Hesitant to book with Hotel Power because of reviews on this site. Happy to report my stay at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua went smoothly. I called the hotel to have my Marriott Rewards number attached to confirmation and my reservation showed up in my account. When I arrived at the hotel, I was upgraded to a deluxe category room. Needless to say, I will be using them in the future.

I boooked a room today and was charged waaaaay more than expected. I would have went straight to the site if that is the case!! I book rooms all the time, so I immediately knew something was off and reading reviews, I see now that i may have been played. One thing I don't like is someone playing with my money! I have 5 kids, two with disabilities. You guys are wrong! I have never ever had this problem!! You guys only want to answer if someone wants to book a room, but i can't get someone to cancel! I am contacting my bank asap!!
Edit: I called and they finally answered, where totally unprofessional!! She actually argued with me on the phone..this should be illegal!!!

They cancelled my hotel reservation without my knowing and I already had my flight booked!!! They claim they sent me and email and I didnt respond and they thought my reservation may have been fraudulent! I then called them to straighten this rediculous mess out and tried to get another reservation. They told me TWO different times they found a better deal but when they took my credit card information, the deal magically was no longer available. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Back in APRIL I booked a hotel with 2 double beds and no breakfast option.
Today I checked in, the hotel gave me a room with one queen bed and free breakfast. Of course on my receipt it doesn't say what type of room other than 'standard.' I called Hotel Power and they basically read my receipt back to me. I should have checked reviews before booking with them. I will NEVER use their site again...total waste of $569.

The online site is easy enough, but when you call with any concerns, they hang up on you multiple times, customer service personel with poor English. I started trying to cancel within our cancellation policy at 2:00 PM on a weekday, by the time I called 6 times and spoke to a real person that spoke English, it was 5:30 and they claimed it wasn't 48 hrs advanced notice because it was past 5:00 pm anymore. Called the hotel direct, they said they'd let me cancel still because of 24 hrs notice policy. Hotelpower did not let me cancel - out $492.- that I am sure Hotelpower kept.
Terrible terrible service, absolutely do not recommend.

I don't know how I ended up booking through this site. To the best of my knowledge I was rerouted through expedia (so I'll stay away from expedia, as well). I booked a hotel room in Athens Greece and paid DOUBLE what my friend with an American Express card booked, so their claim that they are discounted, IS FALSE. They charged my credit card 967$ when I booked. I never received my confirmation number and was calling weeks and days prior to my arrival. Finally, the day before I was set to arrive I still had no reservation at the hotel and sat on phone with customer support for hours. They finally gave me a confirmation number. When I went to the hotel to check in, they told me the confirmation number was for their lower priced property at a different location. My confirmation printout indicated the hotel I was at....REALLY SHADY!!! Do not book through these people and I guess, stay away from expedia. I was definitely rerouted.

I went online and made a reservation for Austin Texas. They charged me a 1.00 membership fee i never agreed to. They refunded it after a lengthy conversation. They never made the reservation . I said if you don't make it i want my money back which was 452 dollars. They said that i was canceling . I said yes if you don't make the reservation. They then told me they were keeping the money. No refund. Jerks and thieves. Steer clear . Worst travel site ever.

Booked a hotel reservation, then cancelled the same day. They went ahead and charged me the full reservation rate. Per their policy, I should not have been charged any $$. When I read them their policy from their email, they said flatly "there's nothing we can do". Asked for a manager, "he's not available".
TOTAL FRAUD, TOTAL SCAM.

booked a reservation, realized immediately I had made a mistake, cancelled within a MINUTE of making the reservation. Called them, they told me it would take 72 hours to resolve. I've had this happen using Priceline and NEVER had an issue. Called the hotel, they have NO PROBLEM with the refund. HOTELPOWER is CRAP! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. 2nd day of calling to find out the refund and was told I wouldn't get the refund back. When I pitched a fit, the dude put me on hold and then disconnected. Called right back and was told customer service was closed. Asked for a manager, told there wasn't one.

It was a nightmare to make a reservation from hotelpower. They charged me much higher than the hotel. Even though they said price match, they won't do that. Their service is the worst. Stay away from it and don't ruin your vacation!

This is a terrible scam. They took my money and the hotel never had my reservation. Fortunately I was able to find another room for 3X the cost and cancelled this one. Hope to get a refund!

Booked thru Trivago and this company took my money and never made the reservation. Sat in the lobby of Fairfield Hotel for 2 hours trying to get it straightened out. Fairfield was wonderful and cut thru the horrible customer service from this company. This is the last thing tired customers needing a room need to face. Saving a few dollars was not worth it...beware.

I booked a room and a few hours later I called to cancel after calling Hampton Inn and they said it wasnt a problem. The guy said oh you cant get a refund! Worst possible experience I could have had. I usually go thru Booking.com and my lesson has been learned NEVER EVER use this site again.

Ive wanted to write about it since I was scared that pricing and service (they call yo to check everything is okay with your reservation) was too good to be true. Well, it was just very good since the hotel rate theyve offered was by far the best weve found, and there were not hidden costs or charges, that I was afraid we would face once there. Therefore, great experience with our booking and stay in Argentina through Hotelpower.com.

They show a price, TWICE, then switch it right as you pay. It's so easy to miss when they switch it without warning and then you end up paying more. What sleezeballs!
