I booked one room for one night through this company and their system charged me twice.I called hotel power right away and I was promised a refund.Great! After a month still no refund and now their excuse is that hotel where I stayed wont give refund, well they do, and now they ask me to contact and email a hotel where I stayed to send them proof that in fact they didn't charge me.Please stay away, they are not true what they say and once you book they also set you up some kind of membership

Still waiting for resolution after 6 weeks! Not one person at this company has any authority to make a decision! Hotwire was on the same problem for my friend and resolved it the same day.

Booked a room for a concert weekend. in Boulder, CO. Arrived to hotel and none of the 4 rooms we reserved were booked. Hotel Power took our money a month before and four families had to scramble to find an overpriced rooms elsewhere. Hotel said they put in for refund and ten days later nothing.
AVOID THIS COMPANY. Thief's.

I reserved a hotel room using HotelPower.com through Trivago and was charged $319 on my credit card. However, a week before my trip, I received an email from HotelPower stating that my reservation had been cancelled due to "Employee embezzlement" and in order to initiate a refund, I would have to contact my credit card company to initiate a dispute for services not rendered. They cancelled my reservation and made it my problem to chase down a refund!
When I contacted Trivago, they told me I would have to work through HotelPower.com. When I called HotelPower.com, they said they couldn't do anything because of the internal fraud investigation which had frozen all of their bank accounts. Then they literally hung up the phone on me!
In short, I paid for a hotel room that this company cancelled, that trip was cancelled not by me, but I have not been refunded. Please stay away!

I booked a reservation for December at Disney back in the very beginning of June. Received a confirmation from hotel power and then contacted them asking for the official Disney reservation. Number to link with my account. I should have known them that they were a scam as they said they would get back to me with the number. Hotel power just contacted me on June 29th staying they couldn't honer my reservation but would be filling to switch me to another hotel, about 3 miles outside Disney for the same price. No thanks for the $50 you were saving I'll book direct with the hotel and have the pleasure of knowing my reservation won't be changed in another few months when i have no hotel options left

If I could rate zero stars, I would. Please DO NOT fall for this scam. I've been one to look past uncalled for angry online reviews, but I swear that's not what this is. I booked a hotel in Philly and the hotel had no record of it. On top of this, they had no rooms available so I was homeless for the night. My card was already charged so I lost 150+ bucks. The hotel kept trying to call them and they eventually hung up on the hotel. I emailed this atrocious company numerous times, in weeks to come, and they kept saying they "would get back to me." 4 months have gone by. Enough said. STAY AWAY.

Booked a room and paid hotel power in advance. Arrived at hotel- no reservation and sold out. Refund from hotel power promised- never received. Now hotel power manager says they cant issue refund at this time because of some internal fraud situation. Steer clear and wide of this company.

I booked my family's Singapore Trip using Skyscanner that in-turn routed us to Hotelpower.com. I got a very comparable rate and so I went with it as their cancellation policy seems excellent (i have not tried that yet).
Anyways, when I made the payment, i thought of checking the validity of the website and to my amazement, found sooo many bad reviews to the point where I was nervous.
i called up the hotel in Singapore and they confirmed my booking. THIS IS A LEGITAMATE website. .
The customer service was really short but spoke very nicely.... I had a good experience so far.....I recommend hotelpower.com !!!!

I booked a reservation for a hotel in Las Vegas. This company took my money out of my account right away. Sent me an email with my booking information i called the company to make sure that my reservation was indeed booked. I asked if i could get a confirmation directly from the hotel and got a runaround answer to that. I should of known then something was up. Anyways i got to the hotel and when i went to check in the hotel rep informed me that my reservation was never made, she asked me if i had a confirmation number or anything to prove my reservation. I showed her the email sent to me by Hotel Power, she gave me the look of "please dont hate me, but im about to give you some bad news" she informed me that this company is indeed bankrupt. There is may hotels that dont associate themselves with Hotel Power for that reason. The hotel was kind enough to give me a room because they still had some rooms left. But imagine if they didnt. I still had to pay the hotel room so i was out another $280. I called my bank right away to dispute this charge and while on the phone with my bank i was told that i was not the first customer to call in for the same reason. This company is now flagged with banks and hotels. I am still waiting to get my money back but i know i will get it. My advice is stay away from this company and do your research before booking.

They charged my credit card the full amount (over $700), and a month before my trip they sent a letter saying my reservation would be canceled due to "employee embezzlement".
The letter told me to call my credit card and file a claim to get my money.

When I called to add additional names to my two hotel reservations I was told that I had 3 rooms reserved. I stated that I had cancelled the extra rooms a long time ago. Agent adamantly told me there were 3 rooms in my name. I said I only needed two so she canceled one. When we got to the hotel I was told that I had one room in my name and that hotelpower had just canceled my second room. I spent hours and hours on hold with them and they refuse to admit they made an error. They keep telling me that management is in a meeting. I told them I'd hold til it was over. They hung up on me.

Stay away from this site or you will be scammed! I booked my hotel room in April, which was 3 months away from my stay date. Paid the $219 up front bc that's what they required. 2 days before my stay date came, they email me saying they had an employee embezzle from them and they canceled my room! No refund given, just asked me to call my credit card and get it credited. Now I could not book at the original hotel bc they're fully booked and all others prices have sky rocketed bc it's only 2 days out so now I'm paying full rates to stay at a hotel far less nice. All bc of hotelpower.com stole my money and canceled my reservation!

Hotel Power are scammers. They book hotel room and cancel 2-3 days before without notification. Apparently this Chinese person name Betsy Jing called the hotel and cancelled our reservation. They has better give us our money back otherwise.....

I made a reservation for Destin for 2 nights. The day before the trip they cancel the reservation because I did not send them a copy of my government ID or passport along with a copy of the credit card. They don't need that information, the hotel will get that when we check in. When I called to inquire why they cancelled, JOHN tried to sell me the same trip for twice the money. Stating they couldn't reverse the cancellation. Don't fall for their scam!

After I booked a room at Walt Disney World Swan Resort through Hotel Power, I cancelled the room within their time frame to avoid a penalty as directed on their website. After not receiving a cancellation confirmation back from Hotel Power, I went through the process a second time, and again did not receive a confirmation. I followed up with emails to two of their email addresses cancelling this same reservation (all within the no-penalty time period). Even with this documentation (forwarded to them a second time), they still have not agreed to return my money at this time.
I was disappointed to read that Trivago has partnered with Hotel Power... Hotel Power will also destroy their reputation.

I booked a reservation on 3.27. The reservation stated that I had until 3.29 to cancel. When I called in "John" argued with me telling me to send him the email as proof, he was rude with a negative tone, then he hung up on me before giving me the email address. I called the hotel, and they had no record of the reservation. I'm reporting this as fraud as I am scared to go on a trip for my son's spring break and not have a room. Not to mention when I inquired about the room with hotelpower.com the site posted a king bed with 2 bunk beds; but the 1st representative quoted it was 1 double bed in the room. This is crazy. I will never use this site again. The hold time is forever.

Seems like this is a trend with many people's reservations right now. Except for me that I got absolutely NO call, no email, no letter, etc. stating that my reservation was canceled WEEKS ago. They can't even refund me, and told me to dispute it with my credit card company. I paid for a stay on Disney property for December 2019 to experience the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge land, and I'm sure everyone knows how difficult it is to book hotels on Disney property when a new land opens! So, now that our reservations are non existent, we basically have lost our chance at seeing the new Disney World attraction! P*ssed off and enraged would be an understatement here!! I will NEVER trust this company with reservations EVER again! Thanks Hotel Power for ruining my 6 year wedding anniversary vacation!

I booked and paid for my August 2nd room reservation WAY in advance on March 16th. I confirmed with MGM that Hotel Power would have had to pass along the money for my reservation long ago. So even IF they'd been the victims of embezzlement as they say they have been, the MGM person told me that they'd have surely known about it LONG before they alerted me over four months after I'd already paid for my booking. When did they let me know? July 24th. What's significant about the 24th, you might ask? Ohhhhh....it just happens to be one day PAST the day I could cancel my hotel reservation and get back the full refund. SHADY.
I've now had to re-book my MGM room, so I've effectively paid double for it and now I have to try to seek recompense through my bank instead.
It's one thing to be the victims of fraud, it's another thing altogether to time your notifications of that fraud in your own favor. Do not use this group. They clearly lack checks and balances to their system and have a dodgy, questionable consumer response plan.

Echo'ing what others have wrote. They cancelled reservations, took our money and then asked us to rebook directly with the properties and claim money via credit card dispute. Wow. Zero customer service and a complete fraud of a company. STAY AWAY.

This is another case of unfortunate scamming done by HotelPower. Like many others, I was a victim of this so called "significant employee embezzlement scheme" and while I had my room booked in Paris 7 months ago, it was not until the day before I was supposed to check in that I received an email from HotelPowers. To make matters worse, I was NOT aware that my room was already cancelled 3 days prior by them--I had to learn this through the hotel I was booked with! Given that this was during peak time, I had no other choice but to book a room through another hotel. I had already contacted HotelPowers about this and have not received a response. Talk about irresponsible, they should ought to be shut down and take accountability for their actions. I do hope one day that the government is monitoring this company as it should be black listed. My advice? DO look elsewhere and not go through PowerHotel.

All the previous reviews are the absolute Truth and nothing but the Truth!!!! The investors or owners or Hotel Power will REAP WHAT THEY HAVE SOWN!!! I booked for Essence in 2018 New Orleans for 5 nights we never received our confirmation from the hotel as having our names as per instruction of Hotel power agents. we called 3 days before departure the Hotel hadn't received our confirmation or reservation we called company and here we go with the run around from agent to agent WITH THIS COMPANY the back to hotel management who NEVER received a thing and they stated they work with 3rd party companies all the time. We had to call our credit company to dispute the charges also the Better Business Bureau in Florida where there suppose to be located all of it was a scam took our money and no return. My advice Book directly thru the Hotels! Remember They WILL REAP WHAT THEY SOW !!!!!!!!!!!! THEY GET NO STARS
